  • Connected to the Airport Express network, but cannot access internet

I am using Airport Express (n) to create a wireless network in my apartment. It is connected via ethernet to a Motorola cable modem. My Macbook and iphone are on the network and I am able to connect to the internet without issue. I have a new Samsung N120 (wireless b/g) which finds and connects to the wireless network (Signal Strenth=excellent)but I am unable to connect to the internet. My Airport settings are for n, b/g compatible. The N120 has had no trouble connecting to other wireless networks. Samsung and the Cable Company can offer no insight, hoping for the Apple experts to help me figure this one out. Thanks!

    Welcome to the discussion area!
Once you have the wireless connection established from the Samsung, have you power cycled your complete network? If not, power down every device including the Samsung DVD player. Order is not important.
After a few minutes, start the modem first and let it run a few moments alone. Then power up the AirPort Express and let it run a few moments. Next, power up computers one at a time for a few minutes and check to make sure that you can establish internet connectivity. Finally, power up other devices one at a time and check for internet connectivity.
Not sure what else to suggest as your post indicates that the AirPort Express is functioning correctly.

  • Wireless connected but cannot open webpages

I just bought a wireless router (WRT54G) for my (wired) Mac desktop and (wireless) PC laptop. The Mac (wired through the router) works fine, but I'm having trouble with the PC. It can find the wireless network and connect to it just fine, but when I open a web browser, the browser is unable to connnect to any websites. We are on a school campus that has Ethernet built in, which is our internet connection, so I'm not using an ISP or modem. I set up the router with the Mac, using the Secure Easy Setup button, but do I need to do the same thing with the PC? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Hi… logon to router’s setup page, try changing wireless channel to 1 or 11, go to advanced wireless settings reduce beacon interval to 50, fragmentation and RTS threshold to 2304, change Transmission rate to 54 MBps…also try upgrading latest firmware on router, check whether it makes any difference or not and let me know.

You haven't provided much information, such as what type of router you have?  If you entered the encryption key as the password as opposed to the router name you have selected?  If you have WEP or WPA?  What you've tried that didn't work, other than saying it doesn't work?  So, below is a link to some assistance.  Follow this and see if it helps you.........

  • Airport connects, but still no internet activity...

Heya. This is my first post so be gentle with me.
I've recently had an issue with my Powerbook G4 12 inch where I could connect to an open wireless network (no WEP password) and my internet would function fine, until the past three days when Airport says it's connected but I can't browse the internet, use BitTorrent etc.
Now when I open Firefox, it doesn't go immediately to a "page cannot be displayed" dialog, it just keeps looking for the page for a few minutes. Also, when I run network diagnostics, everything is green until "internet".
I don't have access to the modem or router base station.
    Anyone have any ideas?

I just posted my own experience in the forum "internet, networking and Power Mac G4" which is the same as the one of nofryzone. In that discussion, I think Lawrence Kahan has the answer to our problem. I will still have to try his proposed solution because it will entail changing the firmware of the linksys wrt54g router. In order to connect, I asked the help of [email protected] and they made me configure my airport connection manually placing the values that Lawrence Kahan wrote in his post. You will have to open system preferences and click on network. Configure Airport settings manually and enter the IP address 192.168.1.55, subnet mask 255.255.255.0, router 192.168.1.1. For the DNS server, you will have to get the value of DNS1 & DNS2 of your router and put them in the field for DNS server.
At least for now I am able to connect but through a static IP address and not through DHCP.

  • Airport card connected but safari not connected to internet

Running os 10.4.1 on IMAC g5 with airport card.
i am having some wireless network issues. when i try to connect to the linksys router that my airport card locates it tells me that i am connected to the network; but when i try to load a page in Safari it tells me that i am not connected to the internet. Internet Explorer gives me the same message.
i have been able to test my airport card by logging into another (neighbor's) network (just for testing). it received DHCP from that router and assigned a 198.162.x.x. IP address for my computer. i originally had the same issue as far as being connected but safari wouldnt open web pages. i manually plugged in DNS numbers 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 from OPEN DNS.com and Safari instantly loaded web pages.
when i try to do the same on the linksys network my airport card connects but Safari once again will not connect to the internet. I am receiving a DHCP IP address automatically from that router but cannot connect to the internet...
PLEASE HELP ME (it's driving me crazy!)

Oh man... since my last post (all of 15 minutes ago) my iMac now cannot connect to the network at all. The network status menu widget shows it as being connected (sometimes), but it can't actually connect to anything.
Just as an experiment, I turned off MAC address filtering on the base station. Didn't help.

  • WRT54GS and MAC OSX "has internet connection, but cannot load page"

Ok, I have skimmed through the threads here and the FAQ and still am having troubles. I amt trying to connect a MacbookPro to this wireless router. I have had it connected before which adds to my frustration. I ran all the system diagnostics and come to a point where it says, "This device has an internet connect but cannot load __________. Make sure you have the address typed in correctly." My MAC picks up the router signal, but in the diagnostics it goes as follows. AirPort - Yes Airport Settings - Yes Network Settings - Yes ISP - Yes Internet - No Server - No Please, any help is very appreciated.

Also tried the factory reset and starting from scratch and nothing...

I am connected to Orange fr, I can download emails etc but cannot open any webpages.  Ipod Touch 5th vers, latest IOS installed, any advice would be most welcome.  This is the first time I have had this problem as my Ipod works immediately everywhere else.  My laptop does not show this problem using the same orange provider, so its obviously some setting in the Ipod :-(

    Try this:
    1. Double-click the Home button to reveal Task Bar at bottom
    2. Hold the Safari app down for a second or two until you see the minus sign
    3. Tap the minus sign to close app
    4. Re-launch the app and test
Note: If necessary close all apps in the Task Bar

  • Pogo website loads and displays but cannot open games; works fine on Internet Explorer.

For about two weeks now, have been unable to open games on the Pogo website; the main page opens but cannot open any games.
All works just fine on IE9.
No work on 8.0.1; installed 9.0.1---still no work as described above.

Surely, am not the only one who cannot load games on Pogo.com. . . .the website loads in but I get a "connection reset" type message each and every time I attempt to load any game. W7Pro 64-bit Dell Studio XPS i7core. Was properly working in F8 and then just stopped doing so; upped to F9 but still have same problem.
    Ideas, anyone?
BTW, Pogo works just fine in IE9.

  • I can open hotmail but cannot open the email, it works fine in Internet Explorer, it seems as if the problem is with Java. I am using the latest version of Java, Help!!

I can sign into my Hotmail account and see emails but cannot open the email. I have tried to open the Java consul but it won't open. I can open emails OK in Internet Explorer. Any ideas??

You said you tried the recommended solution, but didn't mention what that solution was. Try, from the Firefox menu bar:
    <br /><br />
    Tools -> Options -> Content
where you will find an option to block pop-up windows. If that box is checked but there are sites from which you would like to allow pop-up, click the button "Exceptions..." to add sites to your exception list.
See also the help article [[Pop-up blocker]].

  • Have a MacBook. Shows I have an internet connection, but cannot get on. I do have connection with my other computer???

Have a MacBook. Shows I have an internet connection, but cannot get on. I do have connection with my other computer???

I've looked at the IP adress, and it started with 169.
This means you aren't actually connected to the Internet; only to your router.
An easy first attempt at a fix is to turn your router off and then on again.
