Airport kicks out when I connect to TV

I managed to connect my MBP to my 40" HDTV (Toshiba) using a mini display port to HDMI adapter and cable and then, by selecting "mirror images" I got the desktop to function on the TV. Problem is, when I connect to the TV, my airport wireless (using Base Station), loses signal and the internet. It doesn' turn off, just loses signal. The minute I disconnect from the TV, voila, signal is regained. What is happening here and what am I not doing right? Thanks.

Both the TV and the Airport Base Station are plugged into surge suppressors in separate locations. They are both grounded. I do have an electronic timer plugged into the surge suppressor and the TV is plugged into it. ( the idea was to shut off TV completely when not in use.)

Thanks for your reply. Realtek audio works only in playback. There is a stereo mix in the mixer but the recording controls are not operable with no sliders in the mixer for any recording option. Slider controls appear to be grayed out. Can't figure out how to enable them. Downloaded newest drivers to no avail.
The M Audio control panel has no apparent option for recording stereo mix. Adobe ignores the sound from the DVD or CD and shows flatline.
I'm trying to record the sound from the DVD not rip the track.
When I go to Audio Driver Setup and select Audition 3.0 windows sound, there is no input device installed.
I'm thinking of going back to a decent internal Soundblaster card like I have on my 8 year old machine I am replacing.

My computer is running loudly and then kicks out when i insert a disk.

Itunes greyed out when Ipad connected

I recently updated my software on my Ipad. Now when I connect to itunes although I can see my ipad in the left hand devices menu I cannot selected any of the options in itues such as music, apps etc. If I tick the Synic box I get the message about synicing all of the music in my itunes folders etc which I do not want to do. I want to manually manage my apps and music like I always do (did) but all those are now greyed out. However, when I connect my Iphone this works fine running on the same up to date software etc. AND when the Ipad is connected to itunes I can select the music from my folders listing on the lefthand bar and manually drag it to the ipad but it does not go in the music folder it just sits at the bottom of the listing, and once disconnected from Itunes I can go into the ipad and the music icon and see and play the music which is in individual folders. Any ideas please.

When your iPad is connected to your PC with iTunes running, you can set iTunes to launch automatically when the iPad is connected to your computer in the Summary tab of iTunes.

How to find out when I connected to WiFi?

I need to find out WHEN (and possibly also HOW LONG) I connected to a WiFi network? I have been told at Apple Support it should be in log files in Console, but it only contains messages from past 6 or 7 days - I need to know when I connected to a WiFi approx. 1-2 months ago. Is there any way to find out? Thanks for help!

Disk drive keeps kicking out when a new disc is put in.

Anyone,
I just got a new disc, which plays well in the car, but when I bring it in the house and put it in the
Lenovo G575, it just kicks it out and states in the dialog box, Insert a disc into Drive F. I then
bought a new pack of CD's and for everyone of them, I am getting the same message.
Can someone let me know what they think the problem would be and how I can resolve this.

Visited the house next door. Got kicked out when I offered a gift

I'm not the first and I won't be the last. I just got lured into it. Others have described this problem online in much less temperate language than I intend to use.
I am Applescripting away in InDesign, minding my own business, when it strikes me that I can simplify a rather tedious workflow involving images.
So I end up getting Photoshop to open an image I've got the lowdown on from InDesign. It's the first time I've opened the Photoshop Applescript dictionary and I am delighted to discover I can do all sorts of cool things. My script ends up prepping an image for editing in Photoshop.
Then I have the bright idea of writing a second script starting in Photoshop after the edit, doing the housekeeping, saving a copy of the image in a Hi Res images folder, closing the original without saving (it's a Jpeg workflow ) and getting the Finder to hide it in a Done folder, then returning to InDesign to re-link the image to the processed one in the High Res folder.
Finish writing it and then discover that to enter the kingdom of heaven that is Photoshop's Scripts folder, it has to be JavaScript. Applescript not
welcome.
I've nothing against JavaSceipt, except that I haven't learned it. In fact this has prompted me to download the demo of BBedit and some docs on the language.
It's just that hating to waste some hours of labour, I was wondering if my first JavaScript could be to launch my Applescript. Thus I could get into the Photoshop Scripts folder in disguise and assign a hotkey to it.
Is it possible I could do that with a JavaScript, or are there any other solutions... which don't require expenditure? I am doing this for a company that is tightening its belt so often that it squeaks when it speaks.

Thanks, Shane, I have FastScripts on my laptop. It's version 2.31. I will probably have to fork out another fifteen bucks to get up to version 4, which I see is the current one. If it were just for me it would be the ideal solution, but there's no way I could persuade the company to get it for multiple machines. Since I have been using both the InDesign and Photoshop dictionaries in single Applescripts, surely it would be possible for a Javascript to do the same? I'm going to give it a try.

Intel iMac won't talk to airport via airtunes when ethernet connection's on

i have noticed with my new intel iMac that I cannot surf the internet via Ethernet cable AND send music from iTunes via airTunes to my airport express right next to my stereo. in order to be able to connect to the external loudspeakers i have disactivate ethernet connection in the systems preferences.
on my old TiBook this works perfectly fine...!!
anyone have some help?

I would suggest you goto your network preferences and from the location drop down menu choose edit locations. Then click the + sign and add a new network location.
Then connect via ethernet and using dhcp do you get an IP address from the router?

IChat times out when video connecting

I'm running a mac mini with iSight cam with iChat 2.1 on panther... My problem is when I invite people to video chat they get the invite and accept but iChat says the user didnt respond... This doesn't happen with everyone, some of my friends I can video chat with and certain ones it never works with...
I have my firewall on with the ports 5060-5190-5297-5298-5678 add for iChat as per Apples site...
I've even tried turning the firewall off with no luck either..
Any ideas??

Resetting my iPad didn't solve my problem with Bible 1 being kicked out when I tried opening the App. I was told to delete the App and re-install it, but won't that delete EVERYTHING I've done within the App? Like the highlights and the Notes?

The problem I'm having with my Bible +1 App wasn't solved by resetting my iPad. I was told to then delete the App and re-install it, but if I do that, won't that delete EVERYTHING within the App, like all the highlighting and Notes? And I'm sorry to say, I'm extremely technologically inept - only had this iPad since mid-April and the first piece of computer ANYTHING in well over 15 years with my son - and we never had the InterNet. The reason I'm telling this is, I'm not even sure HOW to re-install an App. Sorry.

If the app continually fails to run the delete and renown load might help. But yes, you will lose everything that you have done with the app unless there is some way to back up the info to your computer or another device.
You might also contact the developer of the app to see if they are aware of the problem and are working on fixing it. The developer info can normally be found in the information on the app provided in the App Store.

Airport Extreme or Droboshare to connect Drobo with Aperture wirelessly

I use a Drobo as my primary storage for referenced image files and use my Macbook Pro to store the library.
I'm frequently not able to work in my office and want to be able to put the Drobo on the network in my office (upstairs), connect it to my wireless network and continue to use Aperture anywhere in the house.
I have tried to connect my Drobo (and a normal USB2 hard disk) via my Airport Extreme base station (after installing all of the latest updates a couple of days ago) and Drobo does work with that - including Time Machine.
However, when I open Aperture when I'm using Drobo (or USB2 drive) as an airport disk, the referenced files on the Drobo (even though Drobo is mounted) all appear as off line. I am assuming this is because the reference to the files is slightly different (ie Airport Disk/Drobo/Images instead of /Drobo/Images).
So that rules out the AEBS?
Has anyone got experience with DroboShare to network a Drobo AND use an existing referenced file structure? I want to be able to use the Drobo connected when in the office, but switch to DroboShare when I'm not and therefore the Drobo must be treated as the same path. Because Drobo is on the network I can only assume that the path changes and therefore this wouldn't be possible?
Does anyone have any positive experience with getting an existing (without having to move all the masters to a new path) referenced library to work with either an AEBS or a Droboshare?
If I can't use Drobo in this way, Droboshare is a pointless exercise for me and I've tried my best to get the AEBS to work but the path change is screwing things up. If anyone has managed to get Aperture to work with the AEBS I'm all ears!

Neither the DroboShare or the Airport Extreme will allow the Drobo to work with an existing referenced file structure unfortunately, as Aperture maps the path against each file as a fixed path rather than relative (IMO), so the inclusion of the network component places the Drobo on a different point in the path and Aperture simply looks at each path reference and says 'I can't find it' instead of being able to figure out that the drive is simply at a different point and find each file from there.
Looks like Apple fixed this issue with Time Machine as an existing time machine backup can now be referenced over a network when tied to an Airport Extreme. When you connect the drive for the first time it takes time machine a while to figure out where the backup is, but it does find it automatically eventually. So it is really just up to them whether they change the code or not in Aperture to allow users to switch from network to local connection.
The only option right now is to start from scratch with a referenced structure on a networked Drobo (or USB2 drive). That would of course work fine if you accessed the referenced files in Aperture over the network, but if you tried to access them with a direct connection you'd most likely run into the same difficulty.
In addition, there are no guarantees that when you are relocating masters or performing vault backups over a wireless connection or wired network that the files going across the network are actually being checked in at the other end. This was the same issue with Time Machine and that's why Apple locked USB2 drives out of Time Machine when you connected to an AEBS. Apple would have to ensure that the code not only referenced files correctly over a network but also ensure that files being written over the network (more specifically network packets) are checked in correctly at the other end.

Startx kicking out multiple errors

I've been working on getting Xorg.conf set up for awhile now. I've tried with various drivers (the free ati driver, radeon driver, and vesa). At one point I got vesa working but now I can't even get vesa up. Trying different config methods causes issues across the board. I'd prefer to get ATI's proprietary video drivers working and I am pretty sure my card is supported by the Catalyst drivers (7800 and above?). If I have to fall back to the free ati or radeon drivers, that would be okay but I'd rather not have to go with vesa.

Hard to remember because I've been trying so many configs. I belive I used xorgconfig to set up a basic Xorg.conf. That was the one (I think) that allowed me to get a GUI with vesa, but I don't want to have to fall back to vesa. If I recall correctly, if I tried using any other drivers with that configuration, invoking startx returned errors about screens not being found.

Getting kicked out of an active session

i have windows server 2008 r2 with 5 user TS CAL installed. the server has the latest updates. i was remoting to the server as administrator and suddenly got kicked out when the other user logon to the server physically as the administrator. i wasn't expecting
this as i expect there should be 6 maximum consecutive sessions available. can someone explain why and what went wrong?

Did you both log on using the same user account? By default when the second person logs on they will take over the first session. It is preferred that each person log on using a unique account, however, if you really need to allow multiple sessions
for the same user account you can set Restrict each user to a single session to No in RD Session Host Configuration (tsconfig.msc).
Please note that RDS is not licensed concurrently. It is either per unique human (Per User) or per unique PC/iPad/Mac/etc. (Per Device). In your case you are using Per User. Because of this
there is no limit to how many concurrent sessions are logged on from a licensing perspective.
