Airport Mode vs. Turning Off Wi-fi and Bluetooth
Hello
This may seem like a dumb question, but is turning Airport mode on, on an iPod Touch 4G the same as turning of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Sometime I need to turn on/off my Wi-Fi and it is more convenient to just flip on the Airport mode switch. I'm just wondering if it will be any different.

Yes. Turing airplane mode on will turn both BT and wifi off. With AP mode on you can turn on wifi and BT. with them on you can then switch AP mode off and noting happens. If you then switch AP mode on, both BT and wifi will be turned off.

I called Apple Care and they had me to shut down my computer. Then, while holding down the four keys: command, option, R and P, push the power button to turn on the computer. Do not let up on the four keys until the start up chime has sounded twice. Then let up on the four keys and the OS will boot up as usual. They said what that does is reset your "sleep" parameters on your computer. This seemed to have solved my problem.

I have put Ipod in restore mode and about 1/2 way through download it goes back to message "disabled type in passcode" ?? I have turned off all security and tried all trouble shooting ideas, any suggestions?? besides paying $$$$ to apple tech support
What appears to be happensin is that before the actual download finishes/restore starts. the recovery mode is timing out. I would do a manual download using the instructions here:

Then place the iPod in Recovery mode and restore using the instructions in the link. -
My airport turns off by itself and I have to restart the computer for it to work again and it only turns off again. I have Mac OS X version 10.6.8. What can I do to solve this problem?
Usually the HDD is the frist place to look. Use the original install disk and start up the MBP with the C key down. Go through the installation process until you see on the display a menu bar on top.
Click on UTILITIES.
From the drop down menu select Disk Utility.
Open Disk Utility>First Aid and run Verify and Repair.

My iPhone will only open apps in landscape mode. I have turned off/on, reset, and restored so far nothing has worked. Any other suggestions on how to fix this?

Several times I have turned off my iPad and when I go back to it later,it is on again to home page.since I keep it in a case this causes it to get hot which can't be good.this has only happened since recent upgrade.

That depends on how you have set up your Auto-Lock and Passcode Lock.
I have set Auto-Lock to 2 Minutes and Passcode Lock to Immediately.
If you want to try the same thing, then do this:
Settings > General > Auto-Lock > 2 Minutes
Settings > General > Passcode Lock > (enter your passcode) > Require Passcode > Immediately
If you don't like those time delays, choose the ones that you prefer.
This will of course not stop any notifications to turn on the iPad's screen, if your iPad is in sleep mode.

'm sure your'e going to tell me I just need a new phone but maybe there is hope for my iphone 4. It will not charge past 66% (it's not the charger), it turns off when unplugged, and it will not even let me turn my wi fi to the on possition. Help!

I have some information for you that can help you troubleshoot this issue a little further. That information can be found right here:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 15 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

I turned off my ipod and when i went to turn it back on again it showed the apple but thats all it shows. I can restart it by holding the power button and the home key but it never turns on.
Try connecting it to your iTunes library in Recovery Mode and restoring it. See this article for help on getting your iPod into Recovery Mode.

Issue: Dark Mode not turning off
Anyone else have an issue turning off dark mode? Mine isn't turning off. I uncheck the option in General, but nothing happens. When I close and reopen General preferences the option is once again checked.

then put it right back to sleep, it goes into deep sleep and the fans go off. Nothing I can see is keeping it awake, I have a i5-2500k, Asus P68 deluxe mobo, and it seems to be a repeatable issue. If the PC wakes up by itself to do something, then goes back
to sleep on its own (times out) it goes into deep sleep. It's only when I manually do it that it has the issue. Anyone ever seen this? Thanks!

I had the same issue a while ago. It ended up being because I added my network printer to the printers folder by clicking 'add a network printer' rather than 'add a local printer'.
When I added a 'local' printer (and pointed it to the IP Address of the printer) the sleep issue went away. Both methods (network/local) were able to print to my network printer, but the network printer option would result in my fans never spinning down.

I have an IMAC that uses OSX maverick (10.9..) I cannot connect to the internet because my airport card is turned off. I .have tried repeatedly to turn it on, ,going into assist in diagnostics, as well as the opening wireless menu. I am thinking the card might have died. How can I run diagnostics on the card? How can I fix the problem? Java mama
Click the Wi-Fi icon in your Mac's menu bar.
If it looks like this, it's off:
Click it and select Turn Wi-Fi On.
If it looks like this, it's already on but something else is wrong:

I keep getting error 205 when downloading CC on a 2nd computer. PC, Windows 7. We had turned off anti-virus and ran cleaner. Any suggestions of how else to do it? I have creative cloud installed on another computer, but do not see the .exe file on it so I can't copy and move it.

I have a shuffle. When I plug it into Itunes, it tells me that it has not been ejected properly, and it will not recognize the Ipod. I have turned off the computer, and tried this with another shuffle with the exact same results. Any ideas?
Do you remeber the exact (or close to it) wording of the error message?
Try manually placing the iPod in Recovery mode and then try to restore
Next try DFU mode.

My phone turned off by itself and won't turn back on.
My phone turned off by itself and now it will not turn back on. I have tried both a soft and a hard restart and the only thing I get is the Dual Core Technology logo and it just stays on. I tried to do restart in regular and recovery mode and neither works. Is there a way to restart it without going back to factory settings????
I'm sorry your phone won't turn on jessesealey! I'm sure this is beyond frustrating. Do you know what function was used just before powering off? (text, email, internet, etc.) Has the phone been dropped or wet at all? Even steam/mist? I know a Hard Reset is an inconvenience, so you can try charging for 3-4 hours and try powering back on. Bought an iPod nano for use in an external source to the unit of the BMW. It works, but don't remember the place when you turn off the power and every time begins to play the playlist first.

I do realize that the nano will resume where I left off in my audiobook if I reload the file that was last playing.
What I was hoping is that the 6g nano would work like my previous iPods and default to the last file played the next time played after Iused sleep mode instead of going to some random song on the iPod.
Since I usually have a lot of audiobooks on my iPod--and most of those have 10-15 files in them, it's a pain to have to navigate to the correct file (and try to remember which of the 10-15 files I was last playing). On all my other iPods I could simply hit play and it would start up in the audiobook right where it left off.
Note--this only happens if I use the sleep timer to turn off the iPod. If I pause the book myself, when I turn the iPod back on it'll "remember" what file it was playing.
