Airport Problem: Problem Loading Certain Pages

Why do some pages just refuse to open in the MacBook but when I go to the Desktop XP they are not down? It just happened to me with GMail. It has happened with Google, Flickr, etc. It is not the browser, as I try on 3 different ones before going to the desktop computer. Has it happened to you? Do you know the reason? Any solutions?
The error is either "Server not found" or "No Internet Connection". I do have Internet connection as I'm on Adium and other pages do load. The server is no down, as I am able to open them in another computer, as I have said.
I'm on a wireless connection. My transfer rate is 54, but when experiencing problems, I see 32, 24, etc. I almost never, or never, gets to 0, as others have reported. I gets really annoying, really fast.
Please help. I have read threads and threads and not a single one has a solution.

Did you check the Windows Accessibility settings?
If it happens in other browser as well then you need to look there.
If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.
*Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
*Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
*Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
*Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).
If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
Make sure that you do not block third-party images, the permissions.default.image pref should be 1.
There are also extensions like Adblock Plus (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images and other content.

  • Problem loading certain pages with WRT54G2 router

I recently had to password protect my wireless network (I live in the middle of nowhere and we got new neighbors who decided to leech off my internet), and since then have had trouble loading a handful of websites that I had previously been able to access. The websites also do not load on my mother's computer (same network) or on my phone (unless I use my cellular network and not my home's wifi). I have updated my router's firmware and reset it, but this has not fixed the issue. Could anyone help me with this?

Make sure the internet thru the router is working. What you can do is hardwired the pc to the router and check if you can open a website then access the router's interface again and double check the wireless settings, personalize if possible the SSID and the wireless channel (3,6,9,11), also for the wireless security use wpa2 personal/ TKIP. If internet wired to the router is not working, connect the pc straight to the modem for isolation.

  • A lot of tabs loads and tells me there was a problem loading the page. How can I stop all the tabs loading because ist slows down Firefox.

When I open Firefox, a lot of tabs try to open at the same time. They all say Problem loading the page. It happened after I tried to download a owners manual for Harley Davidson motor cycles. How can I stop all but one tab from opening.

This can be a problem with the file [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]
Delete [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.

  • Error "problem loading more pages"

Using XP SP3, IE 8 and Acrobat Reader X, I have been trying to look at a document identified by a website as .pdf.
I see what appears to be the first page of that document - ie it makes perfect sense in the context of the website - but at the foot of the first page a message appears reading:
"Whoops! There is a problem loading more pages. Retrying..."
    and nothing more happens.
On another PC, using XP SP3, IE 7, and Acrobat Reader XI, I cannot even get that first page up - after clicking on the link to the document, nothing happens,
Can anyone guess whether this is a problem with Acrobat Reader or IE? and if so, what might be done to fix it?

Your link is on Google Docs, which uses its own PDF viewer.  I can see all pages with no problems.
If you use the download button on top of the page, you can download a perfect PDF to your local disk.
If that Wordpress page is yours, I would suggest that you upload the PDF to somewhere where it can be viewed with the browser's PDF plugin, not with the Google Docs PDF viewer.

  • I can't navigate anywhere! it says there's a problem loading my page or the url is wrong

for example...i try type in yahoo.com... and get the page briefly..then this message "Sorry. We can't find "http://www.yahoo.com/"
There was a problem loading your page. Try retyping the URL in the browser address bar above or, visiting a related link below." this happens with each site i visit..or try to visit. it pops up briefly then that error message. what can i do? I can't do anything!!

    Error 20, 21, 23, 26, 28, 29, 34, 36, 37, 40
These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. Use the steps to troubleshoot security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See the steps under the heading "Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store." If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.

I'm having problems loading web pages on a vmware workstation 6.05 guest OS using Firefox 3.5.9. Also tried the latest 3.6 version. I can ping external websites fine from the guest. No proxy. Any ideas?
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == I installed a guest OS

I'm using the same swear words as you. There are several threads about this problem - no answers.
I have a LaserJet 8100N and 8150DN, get the 79.01FE error on the 8150 from print outs from Safari, Firefox, and Preview, for only some sites/documents. CNN.com has become my test site, seems I can crash the printer 90% of the time with their home page at any given time in the day.
A summary of what I have tried:
    - Upgraded the firmware to the latest for both the JetDirect card and the printer.
    - Swapped the JetDirect cards between the 8100 and 8150.
    - Swapped ram on the 8150 board.
    - Disconnected external trays, bins, and removed extra RAM and hard drives from the 8150.
    - Tried setting the JetDirect link and matching switch port link to 100FD, 10HD, 10FD, 100HD, as suggested by a poster.
    - Tried having client's print to the printer through a XServer Print Server.
    - Can consistently create the error from multiple systems running 10.3.9, 10.4.5, and 10.4.6 (didn't have an install base of 10.4 before 10.4.5).
Someone in the 'know' (which means they're likely not), said 10.4.7 will likely fix this. Being Apple has not even addressed that the problem exists (that I could find), I doubt the magic fix is a release away.
Apple's software is triggering something that Windows systems appears not to be, so one could say it's an Apple problem; but ulimately it's HP's software/hardware that is at fault in that it is allowing their system to crash from input alone.

  • Internet won't load certain pages

    Hi,
Ever since I installed ML, Safari is not able to load certain pages. It just gets stuck 20% through the loading bar and won't do anything.
I tried loading it on Google Chrome as well, but it didn't work, That's why I'm sure it's the Mountain Lion and not the Browser or the websites. When I restarted the Mac and booted into Windows, the Chrome loaded the pages without any problem and really fast, that confirmed it's the OSX.
Does anyone know what I need to change in the settings in order to solve this problem?
    Thanks.

    Success!
I found a fix (well, a friend did…). If you zap the PRAM, that seems to make this go away!
    I posted details here: http://tinymactips.com/post/29420303843/pages-not-loading-in-safari-on-mountain- lion-zap-pram
Let me know if that works for you.

  • Does anyone know why safari and firefox won't load certain pages

    Hi
I can't get safari and firefox to load certain pages.  For me it's a website programme that i'm using.  I can get into the programme but then certain pages won't load.  This suddenly happened about 3 weeks ago with Safari.  I then loaded Firefox and it worked fine for a few days and now i'm having the same problem and it's the same pages that won't open.  I also have trouble getting other sites to load completely, such as this site.  It's so frustrating as i can't finish building my website and my laptop is only new!
    Help someone, if you can
    Julsea

Hi again and thanks for replying
I can go into their website, cloudaccess and use that properly.  I just can't use my own website properly.  When i say website, my site isn't yet built.  The site i'm trying to access is the backend of joomla.  I can't load it and use some of it but not all of it.
I can access the site through my old laptop (and use it fully) which is a windows one but i can't access it via this one.  I thought it was a cloudaccess problem but seeing as it's only my mac i can't access it through, i'm presuming it's my computer.  I also tried it through firefox and explorer on my windows laptop and it was fine.  It was ok on this laptop until a few weeks ago when it suddenly wouldn't load properly

  • Firefox crashes when loading certain pages. ID: d9839212-23dd-4214-94a1-8a7db2100704

Firefox crashes when loading certain pages. Often pages with video content
    == Crash ID(s) ==
    ID: d9839212-23dd-4214-94a1-8a7db2100704

The crash reports indicates the crashes may be caused by a file named mcbrwctl.dll, that file is part of McAfee Site Advisor. Try disabling the McAfee Site Advisor to see if that stops the crashes.
To do that, in the Tools menu select Add-ons to open the add-ons manager. Select the Extensions panel, then in the list of extensions select McAfee Site Advisor then click on the Disable button. Re-start Firefox to complete the process.
For info McAfee Site Advisor has caused various problems with Firefox for quite a few people.

  • Cannot Load Certain Pages in Safari 2.0.1

I cant load certain pages all of a sudden. cbnews.com, apple quicktime page is missing images, amazon.com etc. when I open window->activity I always see one item that cant finish loading. In the case of cbsnews.com I saw about:blank was the item it could not load.
This is a browser hijack that I suffered in Windows and one of the reasons I switched to Mac OS X. But it seems to be hanging Safari and not able to hijack it.
Does anyone know if this is accurate?
    Is cbsnews.com infected?
What about the other images that cant be loaded on other sites?
is anyone experiencing this or is it my machine exclusively

on my home machine safari 2.0.1 is working great BUT on my work machine i'm having a ton of problems loading certain sites.
    I can't load http://www.maccentral.com , http://www.versiontracker.com and http://www.apple.com/startpage/ (there are others).....
the only way i can get those sites to load is by turning off javascript by unchecking the 'enable javascript' in safari's preferences.

  • My fans get loud when loading certain pages on the web?

My fan on my pc goes haywire, and gets loud when I load certain pages on the web...maybe pages with High definition? (Not sure)
Anyway, it only happens when I go to certain sites...or load videos etc. on like youtube etc. This just started happening recently, and has gotten worse in the last few days. Is it possible that my processor cannot handle the grahics or High Def...that Firefox 4.0 provides?

All that means is that Firefox 4 is throwing a heavy load on your CPU, causing it to run hotter for a while.
But you might be able to quiet your computer by opening it up and giving the CPU's heat sink a thorough cleaning. The dirtier the heat sink is, the less efficient it is--forcing the fan to run faster to keep the CPU cool.

  • Problems loading certain web pages

Lately, in the past week or two, I have been noticing that Safari wont load certain web pages. It jsut stops and then I get a blank white page with no error message. I have noticed this mostly with Facebook, but also found the same problems with Evite.com when I click the login link. I have tried using Firefox and it seems to d better, especially with Facebook, but it did hang up on it one time. I cant get to the login page on Evite with either browser. I am using OpenDNS, but dont have these things blocked. I can access them fine from a PC laptop through the same connection via my wireless modem.

Open Keychain Access (Applications/Utiities). Select Passwords on the left then delete the Evite under Names on the right. Launch Safari or Firefox, go to the Evite site and login. After typing in your password, click Always Allow
I opened Keychain, but there is nothing in there for Evite under passwords?
    Try Safari Maintenance
    Repair disk permissions...
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.
Tried this, but still having problems in both Safari and Firefox. Facebook seems to be random, more often not working than it is. Still no login page with Evite?

  • Problem loading certain websites

For the past year or so, my iMac has (running Mac OS X 10.5.8) has been giving me trouble when it comes to loading certain websites. The reason why I think it's my computer as opposed to my browser or my internet connection is because these websites will load on other computers connected to the wireless network in my home, and because the problem persists with any browser I attempt to use - I've tried Google Chrome, Firefox and Safari and none of them load these websites. (Also, they load fine when I'm on the internet via my iPod touch.)
The websites in question include about.com, ehow.com, and any website with a .me extension. There are others, but those are the three that come to mind at the moment. When I try to go on about.com for example, the page simply does not load. There's not even an attempt to load the page. It's very frustrating because I see no reason why these websites shouldn't work.
I have tried clearing the caches, history and preferences for all browsers, as well as logging in as a different user on my computer and seeing if these websites worked - they didn't work, even as a different user. I was told it could be a problem with the .plist files, so I dragged all of them into the trash and tried loading these webpages, but it still didn't work. Does anyone know what else it could be? Also, I apologize if my description of the problem was unclear.

Some other things you can try:
    1. Run Software Update (in the Apple Menu) and make sure you have all available Apple updates for OS X.
    2. Go to Adobe.com and make sure you have the latest versions of Shockwave and Flash for your computer installed.
    3. Go to System Preferences > Parental Controls and see if any restrictions have been established.
    4. Go to System Preferences > Accounts and set up a new user account. Try using your browsers from this account. If they work, there is a problem with your "old" account. Next steps will depend on how much time and effort you're willing to devote to troubleshooting.
    5. Power cycle your router and computer.
    6. Go to System Preferences > Network. Highlight your router (assuming you're using a wireless connection) and select the "TCP/IP" panel. Click on the "Renew DHCP Lease" button.

hi i am having problems with certain web pages. i can load up any web page but have problems when clicking on something with in the page that opens a new window. the window is displayed but loads up no images or text and says done in the bottom left hand corner. this means i can not use online banking or any of my other accounts online. any help would be greatly appreciated. as i cant think of what is coursing the problem. i have avg protection on my laptop and windows firewall.

"Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove the Cookies" from sites that cause problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • Having a problem loading certain sites

Ok so I'm beating my head against a wall trying to figure this out. It's becoming more and more frequent that there are certain sites that I cannot access, in any browser, on my macbook pro running Snow Leopard. My router and everything is configured fine because I have no problems on any other computer in my home. For example there is a website I cannot access survivethenights.com which is a project I backed on kickstarter. I can access it from any computer but my macbook pro and no browser will load it. I tried pinging the address from the terminal and it pings just fine! I even tried loading the page straight from the ip address it returned in the ping and it's a no go. So I was thinking maybe a firewall, DNS, or proxy problem right? Disabled the firewall, flushed my DNS cache, tried using Google's public DNS 8.8.8.8, checked all the DNS and proxy settings, even went as far as going into the system library preferences and deleting the SystemConfiguration folder and restarting my computer and rebuilding it. Still a no. It's been happening for a while now and I have put up with it for long enough.
    Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for the help. I followed your advice but "Apple Software Update" wasn't listed anywhere under "All Programs". But, now knowing it was the Apple Installer, I went to the Control Panel/"Add or Remove Programs" and found "Apple Software Update" listed there. I clicked on "Change" and selected "Repair" after it completed repairing the software, I tried loading iTunes and was successful. Thanks again for your quick response.
