Airport saying "no internet connection" HELP

Why cant I connect wirelessly?
I recently got a brand new mac book pro for christmas, its only 2 weeks old. Up until about two days-three days ago it was working fine internet-wise. Now it will not connect to the internet wirelessly? It'd connect to the network but if I open safari it says im not connected to the internet, and the airport also has an exclamation mark over it saying there no internet connection.
I have a BTHomeHub router and thinking it could be this because I've had spells of not connecting wirelessly on my windows PC but as you can see Im on my windows PC now wirelessly and it works fine. I also tried the ethernet cable and it connected instantly so I have no clue whats going on wirelessly.
Ive tried assigning the ip and name manually and it says connected but still doesnt let the internet work. Ive tried turning the airport off then on, Resetting the router, joining the network and entering the name and WEP key over and over again, Im running out of options here.
ANY help is appreciated
thankyouu

Based on your description of what is happening, it may be possible that your AirPort Extreme is not compatible with your ISP's Internet service. Althought this situation is rare, it does happen. Even Apple identifies this in the fine-print with their routers on the AirPort Extreme page of the on-line Apple Store:
"Wireless Internet access requires a wireless-enabled computer, a base station or other access point, and Internet access; fees may apply. Some ISPs are not currently compatible with AirPort Extreme."
However, before giving up on the Extreme, I would suggest that you consider performing a complete power recycle of your networking equipment to see if this can resolve the issue.

My macbook 13 pro is not connecting to the internet even though the airport says it's connected. Can someone help me? My iphone and other macbook connect and work no problem. What steps can I take?

    Ok....
Now go to your router's settings.  Not sure who makes your router...
Look at wireless part of it and see how many computers are actually hooked up to it.
Delete your computer from it (in your router).
    Restart your router.
After your router has restarted, try to connect to it with your MB and see if you can browse the net.

Tap Settings / General / Reset / Reset Network Settings.
Restart your IPad. Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

  • Can't get online, but airport says I'm connected?

    Hi,
I bought a Netgear wireless router, and after talking on the phone for over an hour with support, I got everything working. I have a Mac Mini, and my boyfriend has a new iMac, in the same room, that is also hooked up wirelessly to the same router.
Everything was working perfectly for a couple of days, until this morning. I checked the settings, and the IP address changed back to a 165.xxx. something, which was different than the 192.xxx that the technician told me it should be. I called Netgear support again, and they wouldn't help me, stating it was a problem with the Mac.
The iMac is working great, it's just my Mini that isn't connecting. Airport says it's connected. When I try to login to Firefox or Safari, I get a "page load error." Please forgive my inexperience and lack of knowledge with computers, but it seems to me I just need to put the IP address back? I must be doing something wrong.
Thanks in advance for any help!

There are several steps to a successful Internet connection via AirPort:
    1) Your machine must associate with the wireless network
    2) Your machine must either obtain an IP address via DHCP or you must set one manually
    3) Your machine must obtain routing information to know which gateway will route traffic off your local network or you must set it manually
    4) Your machine must obtain the address of a DNS server or you must set one manually
In your case, the presence of the alternate IP address indicates your Mini is not obtaining an IP address via DHCP, which sounds as if your DHCP server is only providing one address (to the iMac) or is not providing an address to your Mini.
What kind of Internet access do you have - DSL or cable? Do you know if your Linksys is set up in bridge mode or NAT mode? Have you tried simply power cycling your Linksys?

My IPOD and Macbook Pro both will not connect to the Itunes store through Itunes says no internet connection, but I can connect through safari and I have a internet connection

As I mentioned above, I am not very tech savvy so I have no idea why a wireless protocol would be showing up there, I'm just listing everything I see in hopes that someone might know something I can try. This is why I am asking for help here - I'm not sure what has happened that has made me unable to connect, especially since it seemingly occured while nobody was using the computer.
I guess I should clarify that I'm not a total hillbilly- normally my firewall is set to 'on', but I set it to 'off' to try and troubleshoot the issues here as I was told that sometimes it can interfere with the computer's ability to connect to the internet. If this is not the case and firewall does not affect anything, I will turn it back on while I try to fix this.
I have tried the method you mentioned above a few times - I actually contacted my ISP earlier this week and they recommended resetting the router like that. They didn't mention any known network issues.

  • Network Diagnostics gives me all green, but Safari says no Internet connection

Whenever I awake my computer from sleep, it takes about a full minute or more (haven't timed it yet) before it will recognize my Internet connection. As soon as I open it, it automatically connects to my home network, but if I try to use the Internet in any way, I can't. Safari tells me I have no Internet connection. When I open Network Diagnostics as it suggests, I have all green lights. I can go all the way through Network Diagnostics, finish still with all green lights, and Safari still says no Internet connection. If I give it about a minute, I can reload the page, and everything will be fine…until I close the lid.
Any ideas? This is driving me crazy.
    Other potentially helpful information:
I was away for the summer. Before I left, I did not have this problem. While I was away, I upgraded to Lion, but I didn't have this problem on any networks before or after the upgrade until I came back home. As far as I can tell, none of the other notebooks here (all Macs) have this problem. Weird, right? They are all running Snow Leopard or Leopard, though, come to think of it. So perhaps it is a combination of the network and Lion?

I've had that problem before, but when that was the problem, the computer was still trying to connect to the network and I didn't have green lights from Network Diagnostics. In this case, my computer connects instantly, I get all green lights from ND, and I still can't use the Internet for about two minutes. Everything looks fine in the network settings, green light on Wi-Fi, gives me an IP address, etc.
Is there another program besides Network Diagnostics that could tell me exactly where I'm not getting through?

  • Trying to restore ipod but itunes says no internet connection.

Trying to restore ipod but itunes says no internet connection. Uninstalled and re-installed itunes but still have same problem. Trying to restore because I uploaded songs from Yahoo music jukebox to ipod but they won't play. They are listed as "other" and I can not access them to delete or play. Tried to delete through music jukebox but now it say " error reading content" so I figure restoring ipod is the only way to fix problem.

    Does this help?

    I'm experiencing a similar problem.
I have a MacBook Pro Late 2011.  I was using Lion (not Mountain Lion) with CS3 with no problems.  Recently I installed a new hard drive in my computer and used Time Machine to transfer all my files and settings (still with Lion; I did not try to open any Adobe applications at this point).  Then I udpated to Mavericks.  Upon trying to open one of the Adobe applications, it told me I needed to reinstall CS3.  I inserted the original disc and followed the instructions on the ReadMe file.  I went to Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers > Add or Remove Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium.  I did a reinstall, and at the end, it said that some of the components failed to install (see screenshot):
I did a partial install (not all CS3 applications), so there could have been more errors than this if all applications were installed.  The applications themselves appear to work fine, but when I try to run the updater, it tells me I have no internet connection.

Acrobat updater works just fine [after I install the manual updates till 9.2.0].
Can you tell me where to find these manual updates?  I looked on this page:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/collection.jsp?collID=1&platform=Macintosh
but I don't see 9.2.0 for any of the CS3 applications.
The CS3 that I purchased (Design Premium) came with Adobe Acrobat 8.  I tried to manually install the 8.1.1 update.  It said, "Please choose the copy of Adobe Acrobat Professional to update", but the application is grayed out (see below).  I did not try to install any other manual updates, yet.
I'm not sure what to do here besides use my CS3 applications the way they are without updating them ever.  (I would rather not subscribe to the Creative Cloud.)  Any help will be appreciated.  I might try doing a complete unintall followed by a fresh install.

  • Why won't my airport express allow internet connection on TV blu ray? I have internet connection on iMac

Why won't my Airport Express allow internet connection on my Blu Ray when there is internet connection on my IMac?

I'm guessing you only have the modem/router supplied by your isp and the Airport Express.  Is the Airport Express connected to the modem/router with an ethernet cable?  If not, plug one end of the cable into an available port on the modem/router and the other end in to the WAN port, indicated with a dashed circle, on the Airport Express.
    Have a nice day.

  • My "Shop Local" app won't open, says; Checking internet connection

I downloaded the app; "Shop Local"  and it all went fine, but when I tap "ok"  it says "checking internet connection".  All of my other apps work, fine no problem.  How can I get this to work??
I tried deleting it but it reloads from the cloud and I guess I can't start from fresh.

    Is this the app? https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/shop-local/id475372575?mt8
I notice that it was released in Nov. of 2011 and has never been updated (appears to have been designed for iOS 3), plus has a fair number of negative reveiws. The support site appears to be a dead end. If this is the app, I'd recommend deleting it and finding another one.
