Airport won't give wi-fi to the whole house
I recently bought an airport express to use in my house in turkey but when I turn it on it only works in the room where the actual base station is, what should I do? Does airport work properly in other countries?

I have Ethernet in the house and an Wifi that do not cover the whole house. I do not get it to work. I have tried to get it into my network and it get connected via the WiFi but not the Ethernet. Also when it gives a green light I cannot see that it is giving any signals to my devices (iPhone etc).
You need to pay attention to something, while extending your network with the latest AirPort Express upgrade, your devices will be connected to it except your iPhone, you'll see your iPhone always connected to the capsule instead, even if you're at 1 foot from the AirPort Express.
You need to change the radio settings from automatic to 802.11a - 802.11b/g on your capsule, then I put it back to the default settings...
Now in the AirPort utility you should see your iPhone connected to the AirPort -
I have found in the forums on internet a lot of questions and answer about multi room music, with ATV or SONOS. But in those cases the users wanted in every room different music. What we would like is in the whole house the same music. Starting in the kitchen, here we can build in a set of active speakers and with a wire from our home music set we can listen to the same music. But this sounds very oldfashion. Is it somehow possible whit airport express, timecapsule and ATV?
I had been using airport express (AE) units to stream music around my house, but just joined the Sonos world. What a difference! It allows you access to iTunes, plus internet radio, and you can listen to different music wherever you have a Sonos zone set up. I have zones in the family room, kitchen and bedroom. From the Sonos controller or iPhone/iPod Touch app (I use the app), you can choose what music plays where, and easily group or ungroup zones to play the same or different music! You cannot do that with the AE set-up. Sonos uses it's own mesh network to communicate among zones, and your wifi to get updates and access the internet.
Logitech has a cheaper version, called Squeezebox. It also allows you to listen to different music around the house, but relies solely on your wifi -- the Sonos mesh network is quite impressive. The Sonos system is more expensive, but certainly has the edge over Logitech, IMHO.
I only use two ZP 90 units (connected to existing receivers) and one ZP120, connected directly to two speakers (the 120 has an amp in it). It's amazing! I have not heard the S5, which is an amp/speaker combo, but understand it's impressive.
Clearly, the easiest way to stream different or the same music around the house is Sonos or Squeezebox. Too bad Apple doesn't have that system yet!
One more thing...if you are a Slacker fan, Logitech allows you so access Slacker, but Sonos does not. You can fake it, like me, by having a computer logged into Slacker and use the line-out of the computer to the line-in of the Sonos (you just don't have controls over Slacker from the remote). I have been listening to last.fm on Sonos (free subscription) and love it...just type in an artist and listen to that artist and smilar artists.

We use a 2TB Time Capsule as our wireless airport for the whole house but we can't get the signal to all rooms. Is there anyway to boost the signal?
You to purchase an extreme or express and use it as wrieless extender.. that is the only way Apple provided for boosting the signal.

TimeWarner convinced me to get a new modem ("faster"). Not only did I have to rename my network BUT it now doesn't reach the full extent of the house as it did with the old modem.
If you have a question about one of the Apple routers......the AirPort Extreme, AirPort Express, or Time Capsule.....one of the devices pictured below, we can probably help, but as you say.....if the problems began when you got the new modem from Time Warner, I think you know where the issue likely resides.
A call to Time Warner support would be in order if you are using the signal from the new modem, since they may have forgotten to mention that with higher wireless speeds, the wireless signal becomes weaker, so it does not go as far as a slower signal, or penetrate walls or other obstructions as effectively. -
ITunes won't work and freezes up the whole computer!
I upgraded to the new 7.0 iTunes and for about 10 minutes it worked fine. I then changed my library view to the screen the shows the "jukebox-like" images of the album cover. Just a couple of minutes in that view froze my entire computer and now iTunes will not work at all! I've tried uninstalling the program and then reinstalling it and I've gotten nowhere! I don't get any error messages either. iTunes will open but it will show up with a completely black screen and the only thing showing is the part at the bottom right hand corner where the album artwork should be. I've been trying to figure this out, but I can't! Does anyone have any suggestions?
i tried reinstalling itunes and then this message popped up: "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. click OK to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in the box below".
with that one, let's try the following procedure.
first, head into your Add/Remove programs and uninstall your QuickTime. if it goes, good. if it doesn't, we'll just attend to it when we attend to itunes.
next, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. use it to clear any existing itunes and/or QuickTime installation configuration information from the PC.

How can i just get the album without those songs in a preorder?
I'm assuming that the 3 tracks came from a different album? In which case, there is no way around this, as "Complete My Album" applies only to individual albums - if tracks are also available on other albums or compilations, and you already have those, it's irrelevant (it would be just the same if you buy a physical CD!)

Problems: undoes sleep, and won't give up
Folks:
A few days ago, I connected a new Seagate 1.5TB drive (USB2), accepted an offer to format the drive, and enabled TM. (Or was it vice-versa? I don't recall.)
First Problem: Something undoes sleep
Since then, when I use Apple Menu "Sleep" the system goes to sleep, and that wakes up a few seconds later. Always. This cannot be good for the system, and it isn't good for my electricity bill.
Is this waking due to enabling TM and/or attaching the Seagate drive? It seems likely, as it started happen just after I enabled TM, and I am certain I have done nothing else to the system that should affect sleep. About "Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible" in the Energy Saver Control Panel: I routinely leave this ENABLED. I've tried both settings since I enabled TM. No difference.
I routinely leave the Energy Saver "Put the computer to sleep when it is inactive for" setting to 15 or so minutes. Since the computer was not been asleep any morning when I start work since I enabled TM, I assume this route to sleep also fails.
Q1: How to restore sound sleep on my system?
Second issue: Won't give up.
At the moment, the TM monitor icon at the upper right of my screen is circling. It's been circling for at least 15 minutes. Before that I noticed that TM had started a backup. I checked: it was going to back up only 552 KB, which seemed reasonable -- I haven't been doing very much so far this morning. I checked minutes later. No sign of progress. I checked a few minutes later, no progress, so I clicked on the 'x' to abort the backup. Now the top entry on the TM monitor pulldown has been reading "Stopping Backup" for at least 5 minutes.
What to do? TM won't be able to do the next hourly backup if it's still trying to abort the previous one. I tried disabling TM in its Control Panel. It's now off, and yet both the Control Panel and monitor say it's back to trying to backup 552KB ... again.
I'll try dismounting and remounting the external drive. If that fails, I'll restart the system. But, of course, neither of these should be necessary.
BTW, strangely, the full TM menu says the last backup was at 3:10 AM, almost 7 hours ago. Since I didn't try to put the system to sleep last night at about 10pm, and it wasn't asleep when I arrived ... why 3:10? Maybe that's when the Unix cron-timed daily maintenance was done?
By the way, the USB drive IS alive and working. I opened it, found a random file from one of the backed-up folders, and copied it to my internal drive, no problem.

1. Exclude your TM disk from any anti-virus scanning.
None running.
2. Exclude it from Spotlight (System Preferences > Spotlight > Privacy)
Done! The next hourly scan was running so I aborted it by unmounting and remounting the external disk. When I remounted, TM appeared to be in a consistent, "happy" state. So I chose "Back Up Now" and the backup ran without apparent problem.
So far, so good, Excluding seems to have helped. I'll post back if anything different happens at the next hourly backup, or overnight.
3. Until you resolve this, leave the Put the hard drive(s) to sleep . . .

My system still won't stay asleep for more than a few seconds.
How is your USB disk attached to your Mac (direct or via USB hub;
port on back or keyboard)?
Directly to the back of the machine. My Mac did not seem to like for it to be connected though my external hub -- it complained about not enough power and shut down the hub. That seems strange, because both the drive and the hub are powered separately by wall-warts. But that's not an issue now.
There may be some clues in your logs. Download the Time Machine Buddy widget

I'll just use the standard log interface... It shows some nice messages for successful TM backups. Two messages seem to correlate with TM hangs. Here they are:

I googled around about "Indexing a file failed" in connection with TM, but I didn't find anything that useful.
You did this via the Finder? For experimenting, that's ok, but normally to
restore a file/folder from your backups, use the TM interface Enter Time
Machine. Using the Finder can result in permissions problems with the copied
files. Also be very careful not to use the Finder to change, move, or delete
anything in those backups...
Thanks for the warning. I figured as much. I just located a small file on the TM disk and made a copy of it on my internal drive. Simply copying a file from the TM backup directories should not be a problem. If it is, that would indicate TM is a lot less stable than it should be.

Two routers in the same house...

I've been searching the forums all day trying to figure out a solution to my issue. I am not at all tech say when it comes to setting up networks. If you are able to provide me with a solution, please use layman's terms or be overly specif so I can follow along, lol.
I live in an old house which is not very large, however I cannot get a wifi connection throughout the whole house. I was told that this is due to the old plaster walls. I have fios tv and internet.
I currently have my Verizon actiontec router in my family room. The coax cable wire in that room is split, with one cable going to my set top box and the other to the router. I also have an xbox connected to the router via ethernet since it's not a wireless device. I can get wifi from this router in the bedroom above the family room and other rooms around it in the same floor, but that's it.
I have a second Verizon actiontec router. I would like to connect it the same way but in my living room, which is at the other end of the house. Currently in the living room there is a coax cable wire that is split with one cable going to the set top box and nothing coming out of the other side. I want to attach another cable from the splitter to the 2nd router. I'm hoping by doing this I can get a wifi signal to that end of the house.
I've read about Bridges and Signal Extenders and Access Points. I'm just not sure which applies to my situation. I don't care if there are 2 different network names. I just want to be able to connect laptops, smartphones or tablets throughout my entire house. I read and tried to log into the routers and turn off the DHCP, and change other settings so I'm vaguely familiar with this but I'm not sure which set of directions I should follow to fit my situation.
I cannot run ethernet cable from the 1st router to the 2nd. I'm trying to avoid this by using the coax cable that is already there, if possible. I rent and I'm not allowed to drill holes to make this happen.
Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated!!!

Go to Store > View My Account > Edit Purchase Info. Then just click "No credit card" and hit Okay, and it will remove all of the info. Good luck.

I use an external hard drive as a Time Machine back up, but I want to use another external hard drive to save movies, photos on it, but it won't give me the option to save anything on the new external hard drive. Nothing is wrong with the external hard.

I cannot install iTunes 10.5. I can download it, but when I go to install it says that a program cannot be run and it won't give the name of the program. I have the Windows Vista 64-bit system.
That would be my first guess. You might be trying to install the 32 bit version of the program.
Update the thread with more info on your apple software etc if its a 64 bit install you're trying to perform. -
I get an Invalid Certificate notice when I try to access my https site for my printer. The serial number is the same as used by another certificate. In IE I was able to proceed to this address, but Firefox won't give me that option
