Airpot express help needed to enable wireless printing.

Hello and thanks to everyone who post on this fourm, I have read and learned alot over the past year. When I bought my Macbook last December It cam with an airport express router. At that time I has a mediocre isp and we were not able to trouble shoot the airport express so I gave up on trying to get it to work. Recently I got DSL and I am using my same linksys. I tried to hook up my airport ex tonight and again just screwed my entire internet up. I really think I will just continue to use my linksys for the net, but is there a way to run my printer downstairs through my airpot express but not use it for the web. Dont get me wrong Im sure they are good but I have spent between 10 to 15 hours reading and trying only to keep going back to linksys.
Thanks so much for all the help

The driver provided by HP doesn't work for network printing, because it bypasses the CUPS system. The only comm protocol you get is what was written into the driver - USB. Install the hpijs and ESP ghostscript driver set from:
http://www.linuxprinting.org/macosx/hpijs/
Second issue - the windows setup software enters the server queue name during setup, but we don't have that software on OS X. You need to find the queue name in the print server docs, then enter it next to IP address in OS X Printer Setup. Common queue names are L1, lp, lpt1, etc.
Wait - just remembered I downloaded that manual for someone elses's question. The queue name is lp1 (el-p-one). So in Printer Setup select IP printer > LPD, and enter IP address and that queue name.
Good luck.

  • Help needed to setup wireless printing

    I have less than a month's experience of using a Mac but am really enjoying my purchase so far.
    The one issue that I have not been able to solve is printing.
    I have a HP Photosmart P1000 which I can successfully print to via USB but I have had no success when trying wirelessly using a Belkin Wireless Print Server (model F1UP0001). My PC was easy to setup using Belkin's setup disk but they omitted to add Macs to their list of operating systems!!
    I've tried following instructions given in a post on here but it didn't work
    Could anyone please offer any suggestions to find a fix?
    Thank you.

  • Use Airport Express G to set up wireless printing on a N network?

    I currently have a N network set up, with a First Gen Airport Extreme acting as the main hub, and the latest Airport Express N used to extend the range of the network.
    However, I would now like to set up a wireless printer in another part of the house, and I have a spare first gen Airport Express G lying around - Would it be possible to make use of this Airport Express G to add the wireless printer onto my N network?
    I guess my question is, is the airport express G compatabile with my N network if I just use it for wireless printing? And if so, how do I go about setting it up?
    Thanks for the help.

    Hello again
    I'm still having the same problem.  I go through the step by step setup for wifi but when I get to step number 5 (HTMLConfig) instead of opening the next window it takes me back to the previous one.
    The step by step instructions are here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02847467&tmp_track_link=ot_faqs/top_issues/en_u...
    I have also looked in the manual that came with the printer but it basically just says "follow the on screen instructions for setup when you install the CD" which I have already done.
    All my software is up to date.   I have OS Mavericks and there are no updates pending.
    My printer is not compatible with Airprint so I cannot use that option.  I did not use the WPS method as you instructed.  I opted for Method 3: Wireless setup using a USB connection.

  • Brand new Mac user, needs help getting Mac onto Wireless Print Server

    Ladies & Gents,
    After much struggle with PCs in the last two weeks I finally broke down and bought a MacBook. I'm very happy with it, but I am having issues getting hooked into my office's wireless printing network.
    The printer is an HP Color Laserjet 3600n and we're set up with a D-Link DPR 1260 router. I've tried just about everything I know, and even our much-more-qualified-than-I resident Mac user is unsure how to make this work.
    I will continue to search the forum, but I would appreciate any help. I should be off and on throughout most of the day. Thanks!

  • Airport Express and Canon Pixma IP4500 wireless printing

    Hello,
    I bought an Airport Express and set it up as an additional wireless network at an 5Ghz N mode. It's conneted to a Linksys Wireless router modem/router. Internet connectivity is fine from both iMac 24 and MacBook. Both use OSX 10.5.4.x
    Airport is set up via USB with a Canon Pixma IP4500 inkjet. When connected directly to the iMac, it prints fine. When I connect the IP4500 to the Airport Express, I get an Error 300 - basically saying the printer is not responding.
    The whole point of the Airport Express was a faster network for both wireless printing and playing iTunes wirelessly from the MacBook.
    Any tips on what could be a common problem for this printer?
    Thanks

    I had a similar problem
    I had to "add a new printer", so one printer refers to the directly connected printer and the other refers to the printer connected to the airport (bonjour).
    Greetings.

  • Printing help.  My Epson wireless printer won't print.  Airport seems OK.  I get the following message.../Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter2/Filter/rastertoescpII.app/Cont ents/MacOS/rastertoescpII failed.  What am I missing?

    I can't get my Epson wireless printer to print.  All seems well.  Turned on and off.  Green lights abound.  My computer seems to see the printer.
    Error message as follows:

    Can anyone help?
    Thanks

    You did not tell us how you installed the printer so it's a little tough to troubleshoot. Please carefully look over Printing Overview OS X Lion for instructions on how to add a printer. Also look on Printer and scanner software for Snow Leopard & Lion to see if your printer is compatible with OS X.
    Finally PLEASE update your profile using the Profile Update link.

  • Help needed on enabling a wireless network on a G4

    I have a wireless network using a linksys router. I now need to equip a 467Mhz G4 so that it can connect to the network. The G4 has a spare PCI slot and is also equipped with usb 2.0.
    What is the best way to connect the G4? Most of the usb adaptors and pci cards only appear to be Windows compatable.
    Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks

    As Larry hinted at, your Power Mac G4 666MHz (Digital Audio) has a slot an internal slot for the original 802.11b AirPort card. This is NOT compatible with the AirPort Extreme card.
    The G4 has a spare PCI slot and is also equipped with usb 2.0.
    USB 2 ?? Is this via a PCI card supplying USB 2 ?? The Power Mac G4 did not have USB 2 but USB 1.1.
    The best way to give the G4 wireless capability is via the original AirPort card. Other good choices are either a Mac OS compatible PCI wireless card or an Ethernet wireless adapter. The Ethernet wireless adapter does not require drivers and therefore will work with any Ethernet device.
    BTW, this is the discussion area for the Intel based iMacs. You should post future questions in the appropriate Power Mac G4 discussion area.

  • Need help setting up for wireless printing- remote access- by email

    When trying to set up my printer I get a box that says "Printers Code", is the "printer code" another word for hardware address or is it the access point hw address or what is it? I wish the HP people would stick to the same nomenclature in their set up!

    Hi,
    Printer code is a code for your printer which allows you to register to ePrint center. From there you can get printer email address and you can email to this email address for printer to print. Not all printers have printer code. You can read more information from the following link:

  • IP address constantly changes requiring adding new port to enable wireless printing

    I have a HP Photosmart C7280 printer setup with wireless option.  My home network uses a wireless Linksys router.  My problem is that the IP address constantly changes, so when trying to print from the desktop in the other room, I have to go through many steps: go to the printer, view the network settings, go back to the desktop in the other room, and add a new port in the printer properties in order to enable printing.  There is now quite a collection of different ports that appear in the list as this seems to happen everytime I need to print from that computer.  I don't seem to have the same  issue with the main desktop which is located near the printer even though it was setup with the same wireless option.
    I am not an expert on networking, so I don't understand why the IP address constantly changes.  My question is how to avoid this annoyance? Do I need to choose a different setup option?  The computers on the home network do not all use the same operating system so I was trying to avoid the potential headache of trying to share the printer on the network.

    You can find the steps how to assign a  manual ip address in the link:

  • Help needed in Cisco Wireless Nework

    Hi, I really needs some help here. My work place has recently implemented wireless network with Cisco Aironet NIC, Cisco Aironet Access Point and Cisco Access Control Server. We use handheld PC to connect wirelessly to the network and access files as well as web base application.
    The problem that we are facing is the connection to the network, it takes approxmately 2 mins. This timing really piss my users of due the nature of their work.
    The connection is as follows :
    Users turn on the handheld PC and enter the Windows Logon Module, after entering the logon name and password for LEAP authetication, it takes up to 2 mins to connect to network and access the Microsoft Terminal Server where application resides.
    We have encryption key set between the handheld PC and Access point. The connection between the Access Point and Access Control Server is using Radius protocol. After which Access Control Server will LEAP autheticate the logon and password then connect to the network.
    Should I turn off the LEAP authetication, I am able to access the intranet within 5 secs, but no access to network resources.
    Are there anyone with similar experience? Where can I configure in order to shorten the timing?
    Thanks

  • Expression help needed - control speed of a pan via a slider

    I've done this in the past but can't locate my old project, and my head is throbbing from last nite.....
    I'd like to apply an expression to my null's position. I want it to pan horizontally at a speed specified with a slider control. I'd like it to be able to start, stop, and then continue. Doesn't need to ease in, but it'd be nice.
    Speed = effect("Speed")("Slider");
    OffsetX = effect("Offset")("Point")[0];
    fps = 24;
    x = OffsetX - (Speed * time * fps);
    [x,243]
    My problem multiplying "speed" with time means that when it stops (speed=0), it returns to the start position.... I need it to stay in place, and then continue when I animate the speed value back up.
    Please help my hungover brain....

    Here's a quick and dirty method:
    >v = effect("Velocity")("Point");
    vSum = 0;
    for(t = 0; t <= time; t+=thisComp.frameDuration) vSum += v.valueAtTime(t);
    value+vSum*thisComp.frameDuration
    Unfortunately, it is pretty slow to calculate, and just gets slower the further you go down the timeline. Also, it doesn't actually produce continuous motion, so it doesn't play well with motion blur.
    I'm working on a much more efficient expression that does work with motion blur, but I can't seem to get it to behave once you get past the last keyframe. If I have a breakthrough, I'll post it.

  • Help needed in SAP Java- Print option

    Anybody please help quickly,
    Now, I have 2 tables from different queries. I have a print (HTML written) option in my WEB Template
    JAVA PROGRAM:
    function PrintReport(typePaper) {
    document.title ='Report';
    if (typePaper == "0")
    {var CurrentReportName = '&?mp=U&ptot=1&rtot=0&psize=' + escape(typePaper) + '&fsize=' + escape('39') + '&qtitle=' + escape(document.title);};

    {var CurrentReportName = '&?mp=U&ptot=1&rtot=0&psize=' + escape(typePaper) + '&fsize=' + escape('52') + '&qtitle=' + escape(document.title);};
    CurrentReportName += '&ASOFDATE=' + escape(AsOfLabel.innerText);
    var openCMD='<SAP_BW_URL>';

    openCMD += CurrentReportName;
    openWindow(openCMD,'MainTitleNow',800,600);

  • Re: Help needed in AP Check Printing R12 XML Tags

    Hi,
    I am trying to print the 'Overflow' Image on top of the check area in first page instead of 0.00. and nicely align the check print on the bottom of the 2nd page. I am unable to keep the number of invoices stub as static so that check can be static. Please send me if you have the check print .rtf with overflow logic in it for R12.1.3
    Thx,
    Srini.

    There can be any 'n' number of <Form1>'s in one
    XML.Not if you want the XML to be valid there can't. You would need a root element around all the <Form1>'s to make it valid.
    The technique I was using is,
    1. Convert to clob
    2. User dbms_instr find the location of <Form1> in a
    loop
    3. For every occurence of <Form1> I find
    <TotalEarnings> value and check if this is greater
    than 1 million.
    4. If true, I use dbms_instr to get the values of all
    the tags inside <Form1>
    5. The drawback of using dbms_instr is that it gets
    the value of first occurence of whatever sting we
    supply.In this case
    dbms_instr(xml,'<Gender>',position of Form1) will not
    return null whereas it will return "Female" from the
    next form. This is wrong as it doesnt belong to the
    person who earns more than a million.
    Can anyone suggest a way to fetch the values that
    only belong to the form of the person who earns more
    than a million?Why on earth are you using dbms_instr for this? Oracle has built in XML functionality for use against XMLTYPE data, such as the ExtractValue method and the use of XPATH expressions.
    I'd suggest you start reading some of the manuals regarding XML functionality in Oracle rather than trying to manually parse it all.

  • Will an Airpot Express Help my Connection?

    I have a Verizon FiOS Router that handles only up to G I believe. I pay for 50/25Mbps and get those speeds when wired, but I do not have any wired computers in my home. The router is behind my TV and usually has my Macbook Air, iPhone, a second home PC downstairs, and an Apple TV using wireless and an Xbox 360 hooked wired. The 360 gets great speeds using the wired connection.
    But I only get about 9Mbps down on my Wi-Fi connection, and I'd assume it's because I have many thing using that one 2.4Ghz band.
    If I were to purcahse this Airport Express which has two bands, and hook it up to my router, will this give me a performance boost? I'd mostly just use it for to put my Macbook Air and Apple TV on the 5Ghz band.
    If not, do u have recommendations for what I should do to speed things up wirelessly.

    The router is behind my TV
    Imagine that the router is a water sprinkler (or a bright light). You want to get as big of an area as wet (or as bright) as possible. Would that occur with the current location of your router?
    But I only get about 9Mbps down on my Wi-Fi connection, and I'd assume it's because I have many thing using that one 2.4Ghz band.
    That is possible, but you may not be aware that in addition to having a good location for the router....as mentioned above....the wireless signal starts slowing down as soon as it leaves the wireless router....and....it will really slow down when it encounters a wall or ceiling in the signal path between the FIOS router and the wireless device.
    To see if that might be part of the issue, take a speed measurement with your computer close to the router, then compare at other locations to see how the signal is affected.
    If I were to purcahse this Airport Express which has two bands, and hook it up to my router, will this give me a performance boost?
    It might, if you position it in a good location and connect it back to the FIOS router using a wired Ethernet cable connection.
    Keep in mind that 5 GHz signals are much weaker than 2.4 GHz signals, so they really only work well when the router and wireless device(s) are in the same room, or have line-of-sight with each other.
    One of the nice things about buying from an Apple store, is that you have a 14 day money back, no questions asked guarantee. That's really useful, since you cannot really know whether a new device will help or not until you try it out in your home.
    It would be unusual, but also possible that things may be worse adding a new router due to wireless interference. Wireless is more black magic than science, so you have to be patient and expect that the process may be two steps forward, one step back as you go.
