Airpot extreme 4th gen, internet connection works and doesn't work

I have this airport extreme 4th generation that worked just perfectly untill 2 days ago.
I have a modem from the Tel Company. From there a RJ45 cable goes into the Airposrt extreme.
The light is green.
If I open the airport utility, it tells me the internet connection works (green light) and sometimes doesn't works (orange light)
I first had problem with wifi on iPhone 4s (wife and friends), who couldn't join the wifi network anymore. They can see the wifi network, they type the password but can't login.
I had problems with my last gen MacBookPro, apparently for no reason. Sometimes it connects some other time it doesn't.
Same story with my iPhone5.
I also made an hard reset of the airport extreme but with no result. nothing changed.
Sometimes the internet connection is on some other times is off.
Now I want to understand where is the problem, can be the ISP, can be the airport that is damaged?
Thanks.

Router mode: Bridge mode
You do not have multiple public IP.. DHCP is the wrong setting..
One or the other has to be bridged.. the AE is currently the one bridged..
Or the modem has to be bridged.. pick on or the other.
Did you chack the modem logs?
What modem is it?
What do the lights on the modem show when the connection drops out?
Did you plug something directly into the modem and see if internet is still working when the AE stops working??

  • Replacing Assets Works, and Doesn't Work.

I'm using a Dell 720 PC, QuadCore processor, Windows XP with all current service packs and patches, 4GB RAM, and Premier Production Studio CS3 (with all patches).
I have a dual-boot system, with a "Clean" install (only the OS, Premier, TMPGEncXpress and Cineform NeoScene) on one disk, and a "Messy" install on another disk (all the above listed software, plus everything else under the sun, including anti-virus and anti-spyware software, email/ftp clients Nero 7 etc).
I have an HD (1440x1080, 30FPS) project which was originally created on the Messy system. It's about 8 minutes long and created with a Canon XH-A1. The project consists of a video file (created in Adobe Media Encoder from the original Premier Pro CS3 project), one menu, one sub-menu, and two audio tracks.
I booted to the Clean system and opened the project. I had done some work on the audio tracks, and rather than re-do the entire DVD and menus, I used Encore's "Replace Asset" feature and swapped the old audio track with the new one. No problem.
Then I wanted to replace the main video asset with another, slightly higher quality version. I used the "Replace Asset" feature, as above, to replace the old video (a 250 MB M2V file) with the new one (also an M2V file, just slightly larger).
It seems Encore replaces the video in a 2-step process. The progress bar zipped across to 100% on the first step, then rapidly went to 50% on the second step. From there, the time-to-completion indicator continued to increase, but the process never progressed past 50%. I looked at Windows' Task Manager, and my Quad Core processor was running at 25% overall and there was almost no disk activity. After 5 minutes, I cancelled the operation. Encore never recovered, and I had to kill it. I tried again, with the same results.
I tried the exact same steps on the Messy Windows installation, and had no trouble replacing the video asset (it took about 6 seconds), so "something" on the Clean system is screwed up. I'd actually expect the Clean system to be the more reliable of the two!
Do you think a reinstall of Encore is the only way to solve this? Has anyone else experienced this problem, and if so, what was the solution?
    Thanks.

Are you using the same file name to replace the assets?
If so - try using a different name for each incremental version instead as the cache might be getting confused/corrupted due to (apparent) multiple instances of the same asset.
Failing that, what happens if you create new timelines instead of attempting to replace?

  • Why can't I connect to my airport extreme(4th gen.) after reseting the password

i was changing the password on my airport extreme(4th gen.) and it said that i changed it succesfully but it had a error when it was restarting and i can't connect back to the internet what should it do

Please perform a Factory Default Reset to clear the old, and possibly corrupted settings on the AirPort Extreme to get it back to original settings. Then, reconfigure the device again using the passwords of your choice.

  • Best setup for new airport with wired connection to old airport extreme (4th gen)

I have an AirPort Extreme (4th gen) in my basement (of a three story house) connected directly to the Fios box (I am not using the Verizon g router).  The new AirPort (ac) is connected to the old one by in-wall Cat 6e to an upstairs bedroom.  Can/should I turn off wifi on the n router for best wireless performance?  What would the optimal setup be?
On the airport utility I selected "replace existing Airport" and the new ac router is up and running and working fine.  I wonder whether the fact that wifi on the old Airport is still on may be good for coverage around the house, but compromising the wireless bandwidth/speed?  I haven't noticed any speed issues yet, but I do a lot of video streaming so I want to ensure I have the best setup.  Range doesn't seem to be a major issue in my house.  It is more important to me to have strong wifi signal upstairs.
    Thanks in advance for advice.

If the AirPorts are connected using Ethernet, then no bandwidth is being lost on the network. Keep the wireless functions "on" at both AirPorts for additional wireless coverage and speed.

My iPod is up to a 4.1 ios, and it won't update to a 5.1 which I need for some of my apps for school. It keeps saying that my internet connection is bad; but, it works just fine. What do I need to do?

If you get a network timeout error, then disabling the computer's security software duirng the download and update usually resovles that error.
If that is not the error what is the wording of the error message.
Note that only a 3G or 4G iPod can go to iOS 5.  A 2G iPod can only go to iOS 4.2.1

Have just returned home from abroad where my iphone 4 worked perfectly.
Now at home it wont receive wifi. It picks up the signal which shows in phones display but cant connect to the internet. Computers and ipod all working fine so I assume it must be a problem with the phone.
Have checked that wifi is turned on and tried resetting phone to no avail

    Hello melissa82686,
From your description, it sounds like you may have been using the SMS feature of Continuity in iOS 8. If this is the case and it has somehow become misconfigured after a recent change, you may find the information and steps outlined in the following articles helpful:
    SMS
With Continuity, all the SMS and MMS text messages you send and receive on your iPhone also appear on your Mac, iPad, and iPod touch. Even if the person you’re communicating with doesn’t have an iPhone. And regardless of what phone they have, you can reply from whichever device is closest to you, including your iPad or Mac. You can also initiate a  conversation by clicking a phone number in Safari, Contacts, or Calendar.
To use Continuity for SMS and MMS with your iPhone and your Mac, iPad or iPod touch
Your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch need to use iOS 8.1, and your Mac needs to use OS X Yosemite.
Sign in to iMessage on your iPhone, your other iOS devices, and your Mac using the same Apple ID.
    On your iPhone:
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You Can Be Reached By, and add a check to both your phone number and email address.
Go to Messages > Text Message Forwarding, and enable the device(s) you would like to forward messages to.
Your Mac, iPad, or iPod touch will display a code. Enter this code on your iPhone to verify the SMS feature.

  • Airtunes kills AP Extreme (dual antenna) internet connection

I've got a brand spanking nex Airport Extreme base station connected to a cable modem.
In the living room, I've got an Airport Express which is connected to my sound system and to the base station over WiFi.
Everything works fine untill I stream music over Airtunes to the Aiport Express from any Mac on the (wired) network. The internet connection drops and can't be restored but by restarting the base station.
Anybody else seen this behavior and knows a fix?
Would downgrading the firmware to an earlier verions work for this base station?

Ok, so switching to Parallels cured my dropped internet connection problem.
Now, however, I'm back to the problem I had before I bought the Airport Extreme base station: streaming music to the Airport Express station (Airtunes) results in stuttering, intermittent audio from the Mac Pro. Gah! Can't anything just work like it should?

  • Airport Extreme consistently dropping internet connection

    Hi folks,
I've been banging my head on this for over a week to no avail, so I'm hoping beyond hope that someone here has experienced and found a solution.
I have a 4th gen AEBS connected to a cable modem. Roughly a week ago, all devices (lap tops, phones, ipad, apple TV) became unable to connect to my WPA2-enabled network. Powercycled both the modem and the router, problem solved. 5-10 minutes later, we lose all connectivity again. Airport Utilitiy shows everything working properly. Connect an ethernet cable from the AEBS to a laptop, works fine even when the wi-fi doesn't.
Reset the AEBS back to factory default, left it an open network for a bit and all devices were able to connect just fine for several hours. As soon as I rebuilt my network and enabled WPA2, same issue cropped up. This is consistent over 4 full resets. Open network, no problem. Closed network, no connection.
Through my digging, I found a tip on changing the IPv6 configuration so I tried that; again, no dice.
Anyone have any thoughts on additional things to try? Many thanks.

If only connected by wireless is causing the dropouts then there is a possibility that Wi-Fi interference may be the cause. Per chance do you live in an environment that has a high concentration of other Wi-Fis in the area? Apartment, condo, or dorm?
Have you had an opportunity to run your Mac's built-in Wireless Diagnostics yet? If not, please do; if yes, please provide your results.
To run the Wireless Diagnostics: Option-click the AirPort icon in the OS X menu bar > Open Wireless Diagnostics ... > Continue
In addition, from the Wireless Diagnostics menu bar > Window > Utilities > Info. What the values you are getting for Active PHY Mode, RSSI, Noise, & Rate
From the same Utilities window > Wi-Fi Scan > Scan Now. Are there a few or many other networks present? Specifically look for those that are operating on the same Channel as yours.
Finally, let's get an idea on welll your Wi-Fi network is performing: Utilities > Performance. What is the average SNR value (top graph)? Is it greater than 25 dB?

  • Ever since I installed Lion my internet connection comes and goes, has anyone else had the same experience. have rung Apple Care and they have reset my connection but it is still happening

ever since I installed Lion my internet connection comes and goes....have reported this to Apple Care who have helped me reset my connection but it is still happening...cant believe it is a fault of the ISP as my Iphone does not have this problem, nor does my PC laptop...is this a fault in the new system?

Thanks so much but none of that helped.  It was driving me crazy because it would back up another external drive.  I just changed the name of the drive from iPhoto/iTunes Library to Media Libraries and IT WORKED!! I guess for some reason it didn't like the drive being called iPhoto or iTunes ???? I don't understand but I have tried so many solutions and exchanging things out but the name change did it????!!!
Thank you for your help and replying to this.  Guess I made my own issue!
