AirPrint and photo paper

I use my HP PhotoSmart 7510 with my iPad. Whenever I print a photo the printer automaticly selects the photo paper tray. How can I configure (AKA FORCE) the printer to always use the plan paper tray?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,
AirPrint do not provide much control on the printout, if you print from the Photo application for example it will automatically set to Photo Paper and that cannot be changed.
You may follow the What paper and media sizes are supported? section below:

You may use the HP ePrint app as an alternative, it provide more control as paper tray and type selection:

  • How small of photo paper can I use on a c309a

I need to use the smallest photo paper that I can use.  I can not find anything in the manual.  What is the smalles photo paper size.
    thanks
    MIke

The spec's for minimum size do not seem to be listed in the manual.  The driver allows selection of index cards down to 3"x5" and photo paper down to 3.5" x 5".  The driver does allow printing multiple logical pages per page, you could print 2 or 4 photo's on your 3.5"x5" or 4"x6" pages.

  • Keeps asking for Photo paper

I have tried everything to fix this problem but to no avail.I am using a Mac,Ipad and an android phone. Cant print with any of them. I tried setting the paper size using the mac but no good. I set the paper size to 81/2 x 11[no change] set to shrink to fit [no change] set to [plain paper best still asking to load Photo Paper.
Dont know what else to do.

    OK, that makes more sense.
When using the HP ePrint app for pictures it will default to photo paper, 4x6in/10x15 cm.
You will need to touch the option paper along the top
    Then chose size.
Change from 4x6 in to Letter - 8.5x11 in.
Along the top (where you chose size) touch type
Choose Plain Paper. (This option will not be there if you left the size at 4x6)
These steps I got from an iPad, on an Android device it is a little different.
When you have the preview of your picture up (It will say preview in the upper left hand corner of your display), you will
notice two icons in the upper right hand corner. one looks like a picture of mountains, the other a piece of paper with a gear in the lower right hand corner.
Touch the paper with the gear. You will now see your settings. Again it defaults to 4x6 in and photo paper.
Touch paper size to to change it to 8.5 x 11 in. Touch more options to change the paper type.
If this did not help, try uninstalling the app and then installing it again.
I hope you found this useful.

  • Printing on 4" by 6" photo paper

I have no trouble in printing my photos on A4 paper, using hp psc1350 printer. However, 4' by 6' prints capture only part of the image. I set the printer to 'Fit to page' and 'Photo' paper type. I set the paper size under the custom part (10 by 15 centimetres) in Page Set Up. In Print mode, I set the size to '4 by6'. Under the Advanced tab, I change the paper quality to that of photo paper. but still, I get partial prints only. Surely I have missed a simple step somewhere?

You have cropped it to 4x6 in iPhoto before trying to print, correct? With my two printers I use the borderless 4x6 setting in Page Setup and in the iPhoto print window I select the specific printer again and then Standard Prints, 4x6 and click on the 1 photo per page checkbox.

Lets try manually setting to the photo tray:
    - Click the Start orb -> Click Devices/Printers

    - Select the Paper/Quality Tab -> in the "select paper source" choose the photo tray
    - Set the paper size (the next option down) accordingly

  • Where to load photo paper on my new Officejet Pro 8600

I just set up a new Officejet Pro 8600 e-Print All-in-One Printer. The salesman told me that photo paper is loaded in the tray on the top of the printer. I tried that and have been unable to get the printer to use that paper, it goes to the paper tray on the bottom of the machine. When I placed the photo paper there, the printer would not load the photo paper and displayed an "out of paper" message. I would like to print an 8x10 photo. I am using Windows 7 and have tried printing from both Windows Media and Adobe Photoshop Elements 9, both in 64-bit. Any help available will be greatly appreciated. I am trying to print from an emailed photo of my husband's mentor, who passed away last week. Please help me.

    Hi,
My suggestion: Use HP Photo Creators, this software is tailored to use on HP printers. Here is how, from page #26 of its manual, one point to note: point #4.
    Load cards and photo paper
To load cards and photo paper Use these instructions to load photo paper.
    1. Pull out Tray 1.
    2. Insert the media print-side down in the center of the tray. Make sure the stack of media aligns with the line on the width guide, and is not higher than the paper stack line on the guide.
    3. Slide the media guides in the tray to adjust them for the media size that you have loaded, and then reinsert the tray.
    4. Pull out the extension on the output tray.
    Regards.

  • Printing photo from email by way of cell phone. Need to print on photo paper

New to forum and new to HP Printer (HP ENVY 7640). My question is, if my printer is loaded with both plain paper and photo paper, it automatically defaults to the plain paper when trying to print photos, by email from my cell phone. Do I need to remove the plain paper from my printer's tray in order to get it to print on the photo paper?

Hi, Looks like a Yes, you need to remove normal papers. I ran few tests on my loan Envy 7640 printer and it knows the size of photopaper I put in (from the printer screen) but it ONLY prints 4x6. Hope this answer your question. Regards.

  • HT4356 I have just updated my Epson printer to one which supports air print but consider it to be a waste of money as my printer has two paper trays and there is option to choose which try...just "print"  How can I print photos via AirPrint from photo  tr

    Hi,
First-timer on this...Just updated my printer which was less than one year old, to one which had Air Print capabilities. This one is the Epson XP605 which has two trays, one being for photos. Each time I tried to Air Print a photo, it printed from the A4 plain paper tray instead of the Photo Tray.Twice...then I came into my study and changed the printer settings to Tray 1 (photo tray) Photo paper, size 5x7 and  Photo Best, but still it printed on plain A 4 paper. Would be most grateful for any help, although I did read on one Apple site that AirPrint may not be able to choose trays!!!! "may not"??  Thanks

I just figured out the print quality issue for my wife with her new iMac and new printer.
She replaced both at once and she couldn't understand why her Artisan 730 was lower quality then her Epson R280 when they had the same specs.
Turns out the newer printer had the option to connect via wifi which we used during setup.
The driver options are completely different depending on how you connect.
Once I connected via USB the correct options were available and the print quality was better.
Looking at the R2400 it dies not have wifi, but while researching the problem for my wife someone esle was having an issue updating to the latest printer driver.
If you go into the print utility from the Printer and Scanner system preference and under the general tab you should have driver 5.5.
One user had to delete the old printer driver before Software Update loaded the newer printer driver.

On my MacBook Pro (w Snow Leopard) I always had to reconnect my wifi at home when it woke up. I upgraded my router from an old Netgear to a newer N D-Link and stopped having to do that.
I would be surprised you would have that problem with an Airport Extreme, you might check to see if there is a firmware update for it.

  • Why do I not have access to all the features of my Canon MG5320 printer in all applications which use a printer? The printer has two paper paths. The rear path is used for photo paper and other specialty papers. this is only one "unavailable".

I have an iMac late 2012 with OSX 10.8.
The MG5320 has two paper feed paths; one at the rear for photo paper, brochure paper, and other specialty papers and a tray for regular 8½x11 paper. It also can print on CDs and DVDs and has an automatic duplexer. Canon provides a utility for printing on the CDs and DVDs and also for printing photos and other specialty items. This is available in Mac format also. I installed the most recent drivers and utilities.
I also have a HP IBM Compatible computer on which the above printer as well as an Epson are installed. Every option of each printer is available in every software application that has need for a printer.
The Mac printer dialog varies from one application to another. The only applications that list the option for selecting paper quality which includes photo paper are Office for Mac, Pages, and Numbers. Not likely that I would be using any of these for photo printing. Auto duplexing, however, is not available here or in any other applications.
The print dialog in Aperture, Photoshop Elements for Mac, ACDSee for Mac, or iPhoto provide the choice of numerous sizes of paper but no option for paper quality. Therefore, I attempted to use the print utility supplied by Canon and updated by Apple for printing some photos. The photos are selected in this utility. When the print command was given I was shown a message that the printer was being reset. It then began printing a spreadsheet, which was not even open, from the front tray on regular paper in fast draft quality.
It is essential that the rear feed be available for printing photos. The printer will not accept photo paper from the front tray. The greater proportion of my printing is photos or other specialty items all of which use paper that must be fed from the rear feed.
An acquaintence who considers himself to be somewhat of a Mac expert insists that the printer options that I require are available and all I need to do is look for them. The print dialog should be clear enough that "looking for options" is not a necessity. Even so, I have dilligently searched every variation of the Mac print dialog on my iMac and only the office type applications named above included anything other than the basic printer functions.
I have also searched numerous locations online without finding a solution. I did, however, find that printing and printing problems seem to be common with several versions of the Mac OS and Mac computers in general.
I would appreciate it if someone could provide me with a solution. I have no desire to upgrade my Windows OS to Windows 8 which is perhaps suitable for "smart" phones but not desktop computers. However, because of the printing issue I have temporarily put my iMac aside and reverted to using my PC with Windows Vista.

  • I have a Mac with OS 10 5.8 and a new HP Pro 8500 Premier Printer. When printing, how do I change the print option from photo paper to plain or inkjet? This is a serious problem and HP tells me it is a problem with Firefox, that they are getting several

I used to be able to choose print options with Firefox and now I can't. It forces me to use photo paper when I want only to use plain paper. I do not have this problem with Safari or IE, just firefox. I have an office jet 4500 HP printer

I should add that it's an HP photosmart 4280.I found it online and it shows the Mac 0SX operating system.

  • I have an I pad, hooked to a wireless printer , I need to print my bank statements. I know you have to snapshot it first, but it is printing on 4x6 photo paper is all. I need it to print on regular 8x10 paper so it will print the whole page and

How can I print off my I pad for bank statements on reg paper not 4x6 photo paper?

How nice of you to wait three whole minutes for an answer.
I don't know what you mean by "I have to snapshot it first". Can you explain what you mean? If you're making a screenshot and printing from your photo application, you're going about things in a very odd way. You should be using the Share - Print icon from whatever app (Safari?) your bank statement is in.

  • Purchased HP6510 and cannot print photos onto to 4x6 photo paper; will only print to 8x10 paper.

Cannot get HP6510 to print to photo paper; will only print on 8x10 paper. When choosing print options enter 4x6 on photo paper and will not use photo tray; goes to 8x11 paper.  VERY FRUSTRATED
