AirPrint help - is my printer broken?

Hi, Having problems using Airprint from either ipad or iphone on HP photosmart B110a. The suggestion from the Apple Geniuses was that the printer might be broken (from my explianation - they haven't tested it) - but I wanted to just make sure I haven't missed anything before contacting Amazon for a replacement... Here's where I am at - I hope somebody can help? I've run out of ideas.....?!
1. Installed the printer wireless setup fine onto my Linksys router network (printer network test report - says all ok)
2. Mac pro - set up 'printer settings' as a wireless printer and mac is printing wirelessly to printer fine.
3. Set-up ePrint option on the HP website and this is printing fine too.
4. But neither iphone or ipad will print from for example safari. (e.g. ipad printer option displays 'no printer found')? Note they are all on the same linksys network and the ipad is non 3G version. All software upto date on mac, router, ipad and iphone 4.
5. Been through helpful steps at this link after tech hunting the web: http://www.tcgeeks.com/how-troubleshoot-airprint-issues/ - unsure what should be displayed in the downloaded 'zeroconf browser' app if working correct (but think i am right with 'internet printing protocol - displaying as my HP network printer with correct IP address) - although I needed to do an ipad reset to see it (as directed in the help instructions).
6. Also downloaded 'printopia' demo and this is allowing me to print from both iphone/ipad and obviously appears in the print options of safari etc.
I'm now out of ideas?! Any further suggestions? Thank you.

Thanks for link. However been through it and the problem still remains. Here's my update to the suggestions;
1. Went to view 'Apps' on the printer as suggested - and it said the following; "Server connection error;901, can't connect to server". However - there was 'Quickforms' app available which i downloaded from the website and one of these templates printed fine? Is this the problem? If so any suggestions on a fix?
2. Went into tools>preferences>product updates - and the 1st time it did say it had a connection error, but the 2nd time it said 'software is upto date'? (I did update the printer in the early stages of setting it up - unless there is a second update for eWeb access?)
Did a printer report sheet and its displaying firmware version: CHL1FN1045AR. Is the current version? Can anyone confirm/deny?

Have you checked the HP support website to see if there is a Firmware upgrade for your new printer?  In most instances, a Firmware upgrade is needed before you can use Airprint.
On the product control panel, touch the ePrint icon ( ).
Touch Settings , and then touch Product Update .
Touch Check Product Update to apply the available update

    Hi,
It does not have wireless card therefore you have to connect to a wireless network to be able to use AirPrint otherwise they can't see each other. Don't ask me why HP did not include a wireless card to this printer.

I have developed a fillable pdf in Adobe Acrobat Professional X but when I try to use the Airprint feature the form print minus the field data, have anyone been able to resolve this issue?

    Hi,
I had a similar problem and found help for it. Go to the "Advanced" menu and select Extend features in Adobe Reader. That will enable rights which may resolve your problem. If that doesn't work, there is a really helpful guy in here, Robert Levine. You may want to ask him directly.
    Good Luck

  • Pdf prints broken characters

I have a MacBookPro software Mountain Lion 10.8.3, Acrobat vs 10.1.7. Multiple-page pdf displays fine, prints broken characters??? Can I upgrade to Acrobat 11 to rectify problem? How?

Not all pdfs, just this particular 48-page document. I am using an HP
Officejet 6500A+ which has not had problems of this type in the past. The
driver version is 4.1.1. Some of the characters aren¹t really broken BUT ARE
MISSING when I try to print the pdf. (See copy attached with areas circled
that are missing.) I ran a print quality diagnostic report and nothing was
out of the ordinary, nor were any characters missing. (See second
    attachment.)
I¹m hoping you can help me find a solution. I really need to print this
    document.
    Thank you.

  • Printing to an Epson Wf-3640 Airprint connects but the printer always claims there is a paper jamb.

Can someone help me to print with Air-print and my new Epson 3640 they connect but the printer always claims a paper jamb that does not exist. Epson claims it is an apple settings issue and that the their printer is fully compatible with Air-print. Any suggestions?

Update: After working correctly for about 10 minutes, Airprint stopped working again. And then it started working again. So there's some kind of intermittent connection problem.

    Hi @Sunshyn2005
I timed-out waiting for advice, and contacted HP Support, who helped me get the printer back on the air.  While we didn't manage to root-cause it, in the course of trying various things, the tech disabled Norton 360's firewall, which then allowed connecting to the printer, and restoring print service, which remains up after re-enabling the firewall.
The timing of the disconnection doesn't neatly corellate with any Windows updates.  My own theory is that it was caused by a 360 update, but am unable to find a smoking gun, since 360 doesn't provide update history.  The exact root-cause remains a mystery, but at least provides another thing for folks to try should they find themselves in similar straits.
I really appreciated your hint that a Windows update might be the root cause, and your pointing out how to review the history and back-out updates: this morning, I found that Windows had installed a batch of updates overnight, and found that no browsers worked.  Using your advice, I rolled back the update, restoring browsing.
    Thanks,

  • HT4356 How can I AirPrint in a Kodak printer?

How can I AirPrint in a Kodak printer?

There aren't currently any Kodak printers that support AirPrint - only the printers that are listed on this page support AirPrint.  You could see if Kodak have their own app in the app store that supports your printer, or there are third-party printer apps such as Print n Share and PrintCentral Pro which might work with it.

  • URGENT HELP REQUIRED: HP PRINTER ONLY WORKING IN BLACK AND WHITE

Hi - really hoping somone can help..!  Just updated all three Macs to new OSX Mavericks and now both HP printers 940c and 5510c both only print in black and white.  Need to get them working in colour for my daughters school homework!!
Have seen all the forums saying look at printer settings, but none of the settings have the old OSX options turning black and white and colour on and off.  It appears the drivers that were on the previous Mac software have been deleted or turned off by Apple..?  WHY!!  I wish I had not updated any of the Macs if I'd known I'd lose printing functionality!!!
Seems HP no longer provide drivers for these printers that are over 5 years old.  Trouble is I've got hundreds of pounds worth of colour cartirdges already bought for them that I thought I'd use!!!!!!!!!  Maybe I need to go back to a PC as at least you can print things!!! ;-)
Look forward to any helpful comments....
    Thank all...

I had a problem and needed to upload a HP Printer Profile.I down loaded it from the site then opened and placed in the Mac: Library/ColourSync/Profiles folder. I then restarted the computer and restored PS CC separately. I was able to find the profile under the View>Custom> drop down and select it. But when I came to the print stage the profile was not to be found in PD Print. I also trued installing the profile  via Username/Library?ColourSync?Profile folder. But still no luckHelp please?

I thought I had solved the problem when I came across a new HP App that specifically claimed to solve the problem people were having with iPrint: "HP ePrint Home & Biz", but that does not work either.  It gets as far as registering the App but then will not complete the verification (just will not open HP ePrintercenter.com).  But in that case I think the problem is that my printer (Photosmart C7280) does not have the eprint capability.  But it IS listed as compatible with the iPrint App (http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/ePrint-Print-Apps-Mobile/hp-iprint-app-help-not-finding-printer/m-p/827... )
    Must I give up?

Is your printer on the list of Airprint enabled printers?  If it is, you set it up through your home computer and your iPad should recognize it.  If it is not, you can not make a non-Airprint printer Airprint enabled.
