AirPrint lost after update to 10.8.2 with my Canon PIXMA MG5300

Hi! I've just updated to 10.8.2 and printing to my PIXMA MG5300 via Airprint is no longer working.
Here's what's happening:
When I tried to print, the print queue would time out, stating a communication error.
Here's what I've tried:
I removed the printer from Print & Scan settings and tried to re-add using 'Nearby Printers' but I get an error message "Cannot communicate with the printer at this time".
I get the same error message if I try to add it by selecting the printer from 'Add Printer or Scanner', selecting the printer and selecting 'Use: Airprint'.
I was recommended to remove the drivers from Library->Printers->Canon into the Trash. So I did.
I then downloaded and installed the latest package of Canon drivers from Apple Support at http://support.apple.com/kb/DL899
After a restart I tried adding the printer again with the same results.
And just to be clear:
The printer is on.
The printer is connected to the same WiFi access point as the Mac.
I can print fine when I cable connect to the printer.
I tried switching everything off and on again
Any ideas? Similar Problems??

Thanks for all your help PAHU, it's working. The trouble is I don't know exactly what did it, but with enough tinkering around, we have printing joy.
I wish I could be more helpful to others having the same problem.
My most recent changes were to reset the server on the printer and do a fresh install of the 3rd party driver (which I've always been warned against doing when it comes to Mac's & printers...)
Anyway, after this and doing the same add's and remove's of the printer over and over, I suddenly saw
the CanonIJNetwork version of the printer appear!
I haven't tinkered around this much with printers and drivers since ye olde days of the PC
I'm sure glad it's over, thanks for all your help, again.

Reset your iPhone. Hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears.
If you continue to have issues, try downloading the apps to iTunes on your computer, then sync your iPhone using iTunes.

Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then copy it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

Aperture 3: GPS data gets lost after 'Update from Master'

My library contains photos in JPEG format that I geotag in Places, then I save the metadata with 'Write IPTC Metadata to Master'. The problem I have is, that the GPS data gets lost after I do an 'Update from Master', even if I saved the metadata before. I'm having this problem with referenced and managed photos and all my JPEGs from several different cameras. The only way to permanently store the GPS info into my photos seems to be to export the geotagged photos as versions.
Does anybody has the same problem or knows how to solve this?

Use Houdah geo (http://www.houdah.com) to write location data back to the EXIF. It's interface is very similar to Places (Google maps and pins) and you can interface with the Aperture library. It's a bit of a pain, but if you need it done now rather than wait for an Aperture 3 fix, then...

It is strange people experience this problem only with Contacts because normally contacts are backed up with Notes and Photos and that stuff. If you are willing to do a do-over, you can try to backup, restore, and put your data back on again and see if anything new appears. You never know if some file clould have had some kind of conflict because iOS 6 was being installed while data was being restored at the same time.

I bought my iPhone 4 from the Apple Store in the UK, the phone was bought "SIM FREE" and hence it is unlocked.
When I used to go to the phone settings, I had the option to change the network settings for my Internet Connection, MMS settings and others.
After updating my iPhone 4 using iTunes, I lost these settings and now I cant configure my cellular data connection.
Does anyone know how to reactivate the settings for the Cellular Data Settings?

You will need to contact the carrier. All supported carrier settings are in the iPhone's database and are applied automatically when a SIM card is installed from a recognized carrier.

N82 dictionary lost after update to firmware 30.0....

after i had upgraded my phone, then the original dictionary has lost from my phone.
i thought it was upgraded failure, so i re-upgrade it for twice, this problem stilt hasn't solve.
how can i solve this problem?

This quite normal that after updation u loose on certain software's but at the same time u'll get new ones as replacements.
maybe nokia thought that a dictionary is not that important so did not bother to include in the new firmware version........
so just go to http://www.nokia-asia.com/A4416002 and get ur dictionary........

Hi All.
Same here ! Maps was perfectly working with several maps and voices installed on my N97 Mini under Window7 Pro.
After updating to OVI Suite 2.2.0.241, in the Maps section of OVI Suite I got a message on "updates for maps available" or similar ... and I clicked there unfortunately ... I left more than 2 hours things apparently going on, but basically instead all was blocked ...
The result is not only that on my device NO maps or voices are present anymore (not any single one!), but also that on my PC NO maps and voices are listed to be downloaded to my device ...
Simply it continues to say like in the attached JPG figure BUT no download is done when I click there ...
What is going on ?
What to do to recover/reinstall maps on my device ?
Can it work with a RESTORE ?
I need Maps to work on my device also for work, please help ...

My photos lost after update from 3.1.3 to 4.0.0

Sorry for my English.
After updating from 3.1.3 to 4.0.0 I lost pictures.
They occupy the volume is displayed in iTunes, but they are not.
New photos continue numbering from the old and the volume in iTunes is increasing.
How to return all the pictures in the phone, only see those that did after the upgrade?

I first learned this technique when upgrading my iPhone 3G to iOS4:
1) Connect your iPhone to your computer
2) Run iPhone Explorer on your computer (install it if you don't already have it)
3) Backup (copy to a folder on your computer) and then delete the following files:
/DCIM/.MISC/Info.plist
/PhotoData/Photos.sqlite
/PhotoData/PhotosAux.sqlite
4) Unplug your iPhone, launch Camera Roll app and wait as it rebuilds the database.
The thumbnails that were showing as black on my iPhone look perfect now.
And very happy!

Tomtom favourites lost after update

I have just updated my tomtom to version 1.18.1. to be able to update I had to delete the app and then install it again, I've done this and favourites where recovered. Now for some reason this time after updating the tomtom app, I lost all the favourites that I had.
Is there a way to recover them from icloud?

Found the solution to my problem through AppleCare phone call (Level 2). Somehow I had checked a box in the Options pane on the Summary page for my Device (iPhone 4S) in iTunes. The box said "Sync only checked songs and videos." Since on the Music page for my Device on iTunes, like many people I have the Sync Music and Selected Playlists options checked, I thought this was the same thing, so must have checked it thinking I was doing the right thing. Once unchecked, as below, my playlists could once again be synced to my phone.
I told the support guy this seemed inconsistent, that "sync checked songs" means one thing on one pane, and something else on another. He tried to explain that one above has to do with your Library, not the Syncing of the phone, but to me me this is very confusing, and I still don't understand the difference. Anyway, problem solved.

after updating to V22 I couldn't do that any more?
Is it possible to reinstall that language back without Hard resetting my phone ?

Future firmware updates will not remove the language after that, if whomever does the flashing also changes the product code to match the new firmware language variant.
