Airtune speaker shown but can't select

my network is setup like this:
ap extreme connected to modem as router; one windows xp machine connected to ap extreme with cable; one macbook connected wirelessly; one ap express joined the network wirelessly and connected to a pair of speakers.
the problem is this:
my macbook can play through the remote speakers alright but for the windows machine the remote speakers are shown in itunes but can't be selected...
anyone got any idea why?

seems not the firewall, i have it completely off...
it dawned on me a moment ago that it could be because my xp version is too old...

Hi,
Try switching to Media view and then go to Find -> By Details.
Set the field to People and select the persons name.
You add further people by clicking on the + sign
The two options above the search criteria allow you to select all photos containing at least one or only ones with all of your selections.
The search can be saved in case you want to repeat it a later time.

AirPort express work as a wi-fi router, but can't select external speakers in ITunes to stream music

I set up my AirPort Express as a wireless router and it works great. It is plugged in to an external set of speakers, but I cannot select them in ITunes and stream music. The speaker selection box that is supposed to be in the bottom right corner is not there.

Having the same issue. Updated iTunes software yesterday and now the speaker selction box has dissappeared. I've been streaming music to my stereo for years using this method. Have tried accessing it from the remote app and the speaker selection option is gone from there too.

Outlook sync works, but can't select calendar

Hi all.
I have Outlook 2003 at work and the calendar sync works, but I cannot select individual calendars, I can only sync 'All Calendars' other options are greyed out.
I do have two separate calendars set up in Outlook.. anyone have any idea how to get around this?

I've never encountered this before (hence the question), but heretofore I've had not a problem -- just the i-beam selection tool, was able to select anywhere in the timeline. Similarly, in the sound editing window, was able to select there, but now can only scrub.

IDVD made my slideshow but can't select my title buttons in order!

I have made a album slideshow on iDVD works fine but cant select my title buttons with my dvd controller in the right order with the arrows. I can select all of them but eg. by pressing up it goes right!
I do not understand this can anyone help me?

The button order is the order they were added to the menu. If you manually change the order on the menu they still will highlight in the original, established order. So don't change the order after adding the items to the menu.
OT

Tables/views/Procedures/functions etc are not showing up in tree view, but can execute select * on dba_objects (can view in DBVisualizer)

There was one other thread from years ago detailing this same problem. The only clue was to check whether select all privs were enabled for the user on dba_objects. They are for the user accessing the system. In fact, all tables/views/procs/funcs can be viewed in the tree view of DBVisualizer. For whatever reason, OSD does not show anything.
I'd appreciate any clues! Thank you!

I updated the post with the version info. I did not explicitly install this JDBC driver, so whatever the OSD came with? Unless it is using whatever is installed on my machine, in which case would be the thin driver.
I did check out that post, and I appreciate you sharing it. I did click the 'include synonyms' filter, but behavior remained unchanged.
I would prefer to use OSD, and that is what our dev team was expecting to use, but we just can't see the information. We are using an ID that does not 'own' those tables, per se. But, why would DBVisualizer show these tables, when OSD does not?

ITunes can see my Apple TV 2 But can't select it

I can see the Apple TV in the remote speakers selection, however when I go to select it, it just reverts to computer. I have tried restarting everything in my house, laptop, router, apple tv... Not sure where to go from here, I can select it from another laptop or my iPad 2 etc...

That would suggest the Apple TV is in use. This can be the case even if the Apple TV isn't actually playing anything but is paused.
Otherwise check both devices are on the same subnet (first 3 numbers in their addresses are identical) or whether the computer is running any security software.

Go to import XML file but can't select it

Hi wonder if anyone can help, I've exported an XML from Final Cut Pro but when I go to File - Import, it doesn't recognise the XML file and doesn't let me select it, I've tried exporting in different XML versions and with and without extension name. Worth pointing out that my CS4 master collection was downloaded from adobe whilst waiting for the box to arrive, so not installed from a disk, don't know if that makes any difference. Happy to be humiliated if this turns out to be a school-boy error.

Table name listed in all_tables, but can't select

I just installed XE, created a user, logged in as user, and created a table. I couldn't insert a record (error: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist) using SQL Command Line, so I logged in to GUI and can insert a record.
If I look in the list of tables, I find the table:
SQL> select table_name from all_tables where table_name like 'E%';
TABLE_NAME
Employee
However, if I try to select something from the table, I'm told table does not exist:
SQL> select * from Employee;
select * from Employee
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
Any idea what I'm doing wrong here?

That is exactly what I did. I guess there isn't a great reason to "preserve case" if it means adding double quotes everywhere.

Hotmail shows inbox but cannot open emails shown but can send email, it works on other browsers and I did the latest update on firefox

Firefox brings up my Hotmail web page and shows emails but I cannot open them or delete them. I can send emails however. Other browsers like Opera and Chrome work the Hotmail fine. I have downloaded the latest Firefox update as late as today!
This is a new problem and it worked fine for years. I have Windows 7 operating system on my desktop.

This problem has been ongoing for months for some users.
I managed to fix my issue by completely uninstalling FF and then reinstalling the newest version which is 6.0-something.
I was previously running on 3.0 and my automatic updates had not told me there was a newer version.
I don't know if that will fix everybody's problem though. I assume a lot of people were already running on FF 6 when they had their problems.

Can't select at log in with magic track pad

when I get to the log in screen I can move my curser but can't select nothing when I tap the magic track pad I end up hooking up a wired mouse to select user name to input it

Untill you solve the problem, here's a workaround:
If you type the first letter or two of the user you are trying to login as and then press return it will select that user at which point you can input the password.

Can only select items with direct selection tool

I have been working on a design: one layer, with multiple groupings, nothing is locked. I'm trying to select the items with the selection tool, but can only select items with the direct selection tool (which is very inconvenient in this case). I can select the text with the text tool, but that really serves no purpose in my case. Anyone have any ideas as to what's going on? When I was working on it yesterday, everything was fine with all the tools. Thanks in advance.

It may be a corruption of preferences, or an issue outside Illy.
You may try to close down and just restart, or close down and restart pressing Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cme+Option+Shift, or close down and use the suggestions in Move the folder or, if none of those suggestions help, have a look at the list in Other options

8330 crashed yesterday black screen but can hear emails, text coming in??? 3 friends same thing

my bb 8330 crashed yesterday with screen going black and key board not working. sometimes the screen will light up but for only a few seconds and the key board wont work??? what's going on with the Rim software issue I hear about? Mine started doing this on the 4th of July. I could receive calls but not answer them, I could get text messages, but not view them. The screen goes black when it goes into sleep mode and can not be woke up. When calls come in it wakes the screen up, but still can't answer the call.
If I take the battery out I can move the track ball around but can not select anything and once I stop moving the trackball the screen goes black. None of the keys on the keyboard work.
It's done this twice and was broke for about a couple of days. When it started working again the screen popped up and it was entering "252525252525252525" on the screen on it's own and then I got control of it again both times.
I was out of town and on vacation when it happened and I couldn't take it to my provider, I called them from my wife's phone and they said it was a software problem. So far it has not happened again, but I am still going to take it by my provider and see what they say.

you can download the mac os x recovery hd and run the setup to a flash drive using another mac computer running os x 10.7,(so that while installation the os x setup can varify your computer's serial no. and provide you the installation setup through internet)
or the time machine backup(if you have)
Now boot through the flash drive and follow the steps to install mac os x
