Airtunes is no longer available in Podcasts v2.0 for iphone 5 (same for Music app).  Is there a fix?

I noticed after the latest Podcasts update that the ability to play podcasts via AirTunes is no longer available.  Since I don't play music on the Music app, I don't know how long that's been happening there.  But neither app offers airtunes.  Other (non-apple) music apps are correctly showing the airtunes selection drop-down.

You have to set airplay from the Control Center screen now. You can get there from any app by "swiping up" from the very bottom edge of the screen. Then you'll see volume controls, the airplay button and other handy controls. It's quite nice once you know where to look.

  • Thunderbird does no longer alway start with Lightning. I have to uninstall & reinstall Lightning. Is there a fix?

I am running Thunderbird 13.1.2 with Lightning 3.3.1 on a Windows 8.1 64 bit machine. Sometimes Thunderbird loads without Lightning, and I have to uninstall then reinstall Lightning to get it to run. Annoying but not critical. I see that Thunderbird just upgraded to 31.2.0. Will that fix this problem?

  • Match will not upload tracks no longer available in the Store?

I purchased and album on 2/4/2007 (see below) which is apparently no longer available in the iTunes store.
I understand that some music that was once available might be removed from the store for copyright reasons.  Because these tracks were protected AAC files Match will not upload them.
Is there any thing I can do to get these tracks into Match and therefore available to all of my devices?

He just does not want to update his Logic Pro X. It's his preference.
Thanks for the help He just wants to keep it version 10.0.6 as it is the way he bought just like a person wants to keep their Mac OS X for example 10.0.2.

  • TS1702 What happens when an app is no longer available in App Store?

Since joining iTunes I have download two apps that are no longer available. One I paid for and the other for free, I still have the one I paid for on my iTunes which I can put back on through my computer; but the new app that was free just was taken down (I think you guys know what app I'm talking about). I'm afraid to delete it and connect it to my computer because I don't want it deleted forever. What will happen?

If an app is no longer available in your country's store then you won't be able to redownload it. If you connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases then it will be copied over and you can take a backup copy of it. If you have 'automatic syncing' then you may want to turn that 'off' via the Devices tab in Edit > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences on a Mac) on your computer's iTunes

  • Can't upgrade iPhone apps because store says they are "no longer available"

I checked for application updates for my iPhone in iTunes and a couple apps show up, but when I click "Download All Free Updates" iTunes gives an error: "the item you tried to buy is no longer available"
This makes no sense -- I tracked it down to two apps, "Feeds" and "SysMon" but here is what is weird. Both of those apps show new versions in the app store just by manually searching for them, there are clearly new versions in the store, and iTunes is telling me this, but I can't download them. Has anyone else seen this when trying to update applications?

Have you tried clicking the update buttons on each app separately? I have occasionally gotten some weird errors when using the "all available updates" button.

  • Can't check for new podcast episodes in iOS 5 Music app any more on iPad

Hi, in the old iPod app on the iPad, I could check for new episodes for podcasts and download them directly on the iPad. I haven't found this functionality in the new Music app. Is this gone? I liked it a lot when traveling with the iPad.
Or did I just miss on how to activate it?

I didn't know the iPhone still had it. But... the whole thing is a stupid joke anyway.
"Get More Eposides..." when viewing an individual epiosde is a petty excuse for a feature. What iOS really needs is an "Refresh" button just like iTunes, so I can update every podcast with one button and without leaving the Music app. Anything less is retar-ded.
5 iOS releases and I'm still waiting for this. And iOS 5 on iPad is even worse than the lame excuse for a feature we had before. The implementation of podcast subsrciptions on iOS feels like nothing more than an April Fools' joke.
I wouldn't mind but at this stage what we should really have is background download for podcasts on iOS ala Newsstand.

  • IOS5 Music App crashing when going to podcasts

My music app keeps crashing whenever I select the "podcast" tab in the music app.
Here have been the steps I've taken so far:
    1.  Connect to iTunes, remove podcasts from phone
    2.  Upon doing this, the music app crashes instantly upon opening
    3.  If I select "reset all settings" on the phone, the music app will start back up - but continue to crash when navigating to podcast tab
    Notes
+  If I select my computer library (home sharing) within the music app, the podcasts show up and play fine (pulling from my computer)
+  The "Muisc +" app accesses all my music and plays fine (but I can't get to podcasts from within that app)
+  I can use voice commands to play a music - and skip forward/back from the lock screen
    Hardware:
    iPhone 4, ATT, 32GB
    iOS 5.0.1
    Any help/suggestions?

I'm still having this issue - wanted to add some additional details:
+if i search on my iPhone (swipe all the way to the left home screen), several podcasts show up; even after syncing and telling iTunes to sync 1 most recent podcast or none at all
+I can play these podcasts from the "search" menu, but when I hit back, it brings me to the default music app tab, and if i tab to the podcast tab (even with the podcast playing), the app will crash
+in iTunes, when I set my podcasts to only keep the most recent one, then sync my phone - it will pull these random podcasts back into iTunes
+The date on these podcasts is 12/31/00 (even though they are from 2011)
It seems like the "12/31/00" labeled podcasts are impossible to delete and causing my music app to crash.

  • I accidentially deleted podcasts from 2010.  I want to retrieve them, they are no longer available on line.

I was in ITunes, in my Podcasts list.  I hit the icon (semicircle, with an arrow pointing clockwise) and all my podcasts were deleted.  They were also deleted from my IPod.  The podcasts were from 2010 and are no longer available in ITunes.  Is there any way to retreive them?

Ok, the main thing is not to use the SD card or place anything on it.
The photo's are still there, not overwritten yet.
Here's a interesting set of posts I've found, read all of them and make a decision.
PhotoRec is not easy - requires terminal skills and Rosetta installed - does a good job - free
EXIF UnTrasher is free but has partial success
PhotoRescue by DataRescue is payware - does a good job
You need to LOCK your SD card (little slide switch) before connecting to the Mac or it tries to write a file on it and will overwrite some of your data your trying to recover.

Good Luck, I hope you get your files back

  • Why is Podcast 606 Football Phone-In no longer available in Ireland

Attempted to download Podcast 606 Football Phone In, it is a football phone in show from BBC Radio 5 in the UK. iTunes tells me it is no longer available in Ireland, just wondering does anyone out there know why?

It says the same for me but for Ireland read UK. (I am in UK btw).
Have had to download from BBC website and sync it onto iPhone.

  • As of today, many podcasts no longer available on Apple TV. Why?

As of today, many podcasts no longer available on Apple TV. Why?

The offering list does not look any different to me.  The 15 or so I have flagged are all still there.   You would need to contact the pod caster and ask why they stopped distributing their pod cast via iTunes.

  • Podcast no longer available

My podcast, The PiratesWeek podcast, has been available for almost a year on ITunes. Now it no longer shows up in the store. It still downloads from the feed, but when I try to access it from the URL apple sent me when I set it up http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=296086995 I get an error that it is no longer available in the US. I tried to re submit the feed URL to ITunes, but I get the error message that the feed is already registered.
Any Ideas? The show has been going weekly since 3/05 and been on Itunes since 11/08.

There are basically two possible reasons for a podcast disappearing in this way: a technical problem in the feed; or that the Store has removed it because of content it objects to.
A technical fault normally results in the podcast remaining but not updating, and usually it can't be subscribed to manually either. I was able to subscribe manually (from the 'Advanced' menu, which accesses the feed directly without involving the Store). The FeedValidator report highlights what it calls 'potentially dangerous content' in line 156: I don't know whether this might upset the Store, but if it was there when the podcast did in fact appear, probably not.
So I can't see any obvious technical problem. This leaves the possibility that it has been removed; though I would have expected that you might receive an email telling you so. Reasons for removal include objectional (i.e. sexual or racist) language, or inclusion of uncleared copyright material. Only you can tell whether you have used uncleared material - in other words copyright recordings used without written permission or a licence from an accepted authority.
You could try asking Support, though others' experience suggests that the answers tend to be formula and unspecific: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/podcast/

  • I have recently used iTunes to subscribe to some Podcasts flawlessly. Then suddenly, I could see the latest Podcasts in iTunes, but they were no longer available on my 160GB Classic. All other functions appear ok. Can anyone out there save me from myself

Help ! I have recently used iTunes to subscribe to some Podcasts flawlessly. Then suddenly, I could only view the latest downloaded Podcasts in my iTunes account. I no longer had any Podcasts on my 160GB Classic. Can anyone save me from me ? I would truely appreciate any suggestions or direction. Thank you.    [email protected]

Connect your iPod to iTunes and check on the Device/Podcasts pane; there are several options for which Podcasts are "kept on/left on" the iPod at each Sync. Are they set the way you want? For instance, if the setting is "to keep on the iPod only new Podcasts", that would cause older Podcasts to be removed.
If you need to chnage the setting, you will need to Sync the iPod afterwards for the change to take effect.

  • A film I downloaded is no longer available in iTunes Store

A film I have purchased from the iTunes Store is no longer listed when i do a search (top right hand of iTunes application.  For the avoidance of doubt the podcast associated with the film does come up so I am sure I am typing the name correctly) and therefore no longer available to download following a recent, accidental, delete!
Is there anything I can do to get the film back or is this one of the penalties of NOT purchasing a proper DVD and something I must expect to happen from time to time?

    Dear King_Penguin,
I do hope you don't mind me troubling you a little further on this topic but in light of your kind reply I would like to know if there is a "Built-in" backup option in iTines, beyond the one I found on the Apple Support Forum (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1751), which suggests one simply copie (drag & drop) the ...iTunes\music\ folder to a secondary hard disk OR offers the "Backup to Disk" option which requires countless CD/DVD's to backup a library of more than a few Gigabytes, which any library containing a few movies would easily exceed?
Once again many thanks for your kind reply,
    youse sincerely,
    Andreas.

  • BBC Radio is no longer available on BT Internet Ra...

I am receiving a message on each BBC station on my BT Internet Reciva radio device that Real Media stream is no longer available from the end of May. Can anyone advise how I get to use my internet radio again?

The BBC Real media streams have been gradually disappearing but don't worry - there are WMA alternatives for all of them, and internet radio is alive and well. BBC internet radio has been in a bit of a muddle recently as they switch to iPlayer. I think they took their eye of the ball with regard to internet radio sets for a while.
https://radios.reciva.com/ is the place to go to find the alternatives.
There is also a discussion forum here https://forum.reciva.com/ where you can ask for advice from other users and where reciva.com staff also keep an eye on things.
http://www.iplayerconverter.co.uk/ also has a lot of good feeds "prepacked" for all the BBC stations - you can put them in your podcast section on reciva.com - I often find that is the best way of getting what I want. I have a feed for each BBC station I want, from that site, one for "today" and the other for "listen again" and they are all available on the radio screen once you have programmed them all in via reciva.com interface.
I also have a BT Internet Radio and it is still doing everything it used to do. No - they aren't available any more, but there are other models out there - all discussed at reciva.com.
