Airtunes - music cuts or skips during play

Just installed the upgrade to 7,32 (6) and my music skips when playing on remote speakers (perhaps on Mac too, but haven't tried that yet. Really random skips - some songs only, sometimes often, sometimes not.
Library is on LaCie external drive. Set-up worked fine with previous versions.

I also have this problem. It is infrequent, and solving it is inconsistent. sometimes simply restarting itunes is enough, sometimes a computer restart, router restart or force quitting itunes is required to stop the skipping.
It's making my wireless music listening experience less than enjoyable.
I am streaming my music to a airport express connected to an apple ipod hi-fi from a lacie firewire 400 7200rpm hard drive. through itunes obviously. and yes, i have set my buffer to large.

Music has TINY SKIPS while playing on my mac

Anyone know why the music has these little "click" skips while playing? I'm playing on a mac pro with Yosemite and hard wired high speed 150 Mbs connection. It's like the music has these tiny fast interruptions in it when playing. It seems to have happened only recently. Perhaps this is spotify encouraging me to leave for Apple's new service?

Songs skipping during play

I recentley upgraded my old computer with a newer used one that runs fine, but when listen to the songs that I have imported from the new Pc to the ipod every so often they skip or some type of glitch during play and also on itunes.My old songs play fine.Any suggestions on how to cure this or what might be the problem?

You probably also have the corrupted-skipping song problem. If it is the same songs that always seem to skip, they are probably a result of a bad download.
Delete the bad songs (keep track of them separately though through a list)
Go to "Purchased"
Bottom of page "Download Previous Purchases"
Find the album you deleted the song from under either "All" or "Not on this Computer"
Look for the cloud icon with the download arrow in it. Click it, NOT THE X!
This will redownload your songs (it might say you are buying it, that's the default screen for downloads)
Check your redownloaded songs.
Hopefully this will sort out your problem, it fixed the skipping song problem I had.

Final Cut Pro Lagging during play back

when i start a new project FCP runs great but after i start adding more clips and rendering and saving my preview play back is so sluggish to the point that the video stalls and the audio keeps playing for a couple seconds then stops.
i dont know what i did if anything but FCP used to run great all the time. this all just started a couple weeks ago. even short projects if i save it to work on it another day when i get back to it, it runs sluggish. if i skip through the project with the mouse i usually get the beach ball. does anyone know whats going on? all my other programs are running great. my memory status is OK

im editing music videos. they are about 4 minute mp4 files saved on my hard drive. my rendered files & scratch disks are set to save on an external hard drive.
the videos i buy and they are MPEG-4, 640x480, H.264 AAC (saved on my hard drive)
im exporting from FCP, using quicktime conversion, and saving as MPEG-4, 640x480, AAC H.264.
all im doing is placing a logo in the lower right corner through the duration of the video.
sometimes i add 5 or 6 of these 4 minute videos to make a longer music video mix.
the only thing i have connected to my laptop is an external hard drive. no cameras or anything else.
i been doing everything the same for the last 6 months. this lagging just started last week.
also when i want to render my project it takes about 2 hours for a 4 minute video. same thing when i export.
i tried trashing preferences to start over and it still the same sluggish preview play back.
any ideas?

IPhone 6 Music cuts out randomly during songs

My iPhone 6 has been doing this really weird thing where on certain songs the music will just cut out. The phone still says it's playing the song, but there is no sound coming from my phone. It does this regardless of if I use headphones or not.
Like I said, it's only on certain songs, and it always stops at the same time during each song (I.e. one song will always stop when there's 43 seconds lefts, one song will always stop when there's 19 seconds left, etc). The songs play perfectly when I play them using iTunes on my computer, so it's not the song. I also tried removing all of my music from my phone and then putting it back on there, as well as a full restore. Nothing has worked.
My iPhone is currently running on OS 8.1.3. If anyone could help me, I would be so grateful. Thanks in advance.

aha. If you synch your phone it delete all music but next time if you delet it manually by phone it transfers the music and next sync it will delete all music again, right? When I have had that trouble I just have to disable iTunes match and delete the music manually if it's not do automatically. Then I could sync it and the music will load and remaining on the phone, also for further syncs.

Hopping-skipping during play-back

Working on a 20 minute project with at least 200 photos , transitions,effects.
music, 3 7sec clips. When I replay it to verify and make corrections it skips, becomes choppy, not smooth flowing like it should be. This my 6 project like this and this is the first time it ever happens. Can anyone help me I want to finish it and it so it will play properly.

I'm having the same problem with a 37 minute project. FIrst I thought it was from the cfx plugins I bought to change the aspect ratio and have more control over titling. But even in sections where I use no external plugins, IMovie just seems to rebel if, for instance, I have a lot of audio edits (putting in roomtone, using extracted audio a lot, etc) or a lot of video cuts with VO. Don't know if it has anything to do with the size of the project.
But it's very inconvenient to break it into 3 or 4 projects because then I have to keep exporting and importing clips from one part to the other. This is very annoying especially since there's so much cool stuff you can do with IMovie when it's cooperating.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Itunes music slows down randomly during play

First, my system specs.
CPU- AMD Phenom 9850 Quad @ 2.51ghz
RAM- 2GB Adata ddr2 800
GFX- ATI 4870 Radeon pci-e 500MB
SFX- Creative X-Fi Sound card
HDD- 80Gb, 250Gb, 500Gb, all sata2. (the 500 has all my music files)
OS - Windows XP SP3 (It was doing the same thing in SP2)
Itunes version 9.0.2.25 (version upgrade didn't fix)
I have gone through and upgraded all the device drivers to be recent (in december). I've been dealing with this problem for a little over 8 months now that I can remember, and the driver upgrade didn't seem to help.
Now the problem is that itunes is what I use to listen to music since it syncs with my ipod. But, this only happens in itunes (and recently on my ipod) not in windows media player or in winamp (or media player classic if I just play one song).
It happens randomly. Some songs will play without a hitch a dozen times without a problem. Then I'll come back the next day and the song I was listening to the other day will slow down in the middle of the song. At first I thought it was distorted, but after it happened once or twice, I figured out that the song itself slows down dramatically so that the pitch is dramatically lowered. So much so that certain higher pitched long notes will sound like one long awful bass note. This will continue for a few seconds (it varies. Anywhere from one second to several seconds, up to at one point 10 seconds.)
Sometimes moving the song backwards by clicking on the progress bar will fix it. This hasn't always worked though. Some songs seem to stay distorted and only fix themselves randomly. This is especially true on the ipod, where it seems a slowed-down song stays that way indefinitely. Admittedly I don't listen to the ipod as much so I may be off on that since it happens so infrequently. Though there are songs that play slowed down every time on the ipod (there is a messhugga song that keeps doing it only on the ipod for instance).
It should be noted I don't run anything in the backround of windows. Here is a list of my task manager while running itunes.

I do run a game pretty often (and listen to itunes as a backround) and I do browse the internet using firefox, so add to that list WAR.EXE and firefox.exe. Whether these are up or not does not seem to matter. The songs slow down with them up and with them closed.
My 500GB HDD has 60GB of space left on it, but erasing/cleaning up the disk or defragmenting it hasn't seemed to help. My itunes library has 55.90 (8940 songs) in it. Cleaning up the library and removing excess duplicates didn't seem to fix the problem. I did move the library from the 500 to the 250, but moved it back when the same thing happened after a few days of playing music.
My RAM doesn't max out, though 2GB is a bit low these days. The WAR.EXE process uses .800-1.4gb (800,000-1,400,000k) of RAM, and the rest of the processes seem to keep well under .400gb max total. itunes stays around ~.064gb (64,984k). And remember, firefox, warhammer online, and the rest running at the same time doesn't automatically cause the slow down. And it slows down whether they are both up or neither are randomly (I listen to itunes sometimes for long periods while reading or painting). I also replaced my RAM fairly recently (other stuff went bad) but the same problem persists.
Lastly, this has happened on my ipod. The problem is that it seems permanent on the ipod, whereas the itunes on my pc will correct itself (seemingly) the ipod version will not correct itself until I sync the ipod.
I have completely removed itunes twice (as well as gotten rid of the registry entries and loose ends using CCleaner). I have deleted the itunes libraries and let itunes create brand new ones. I have upgraded to the most (at the time) recent version of itunes. The problem persists
I may be missing something. I hate using winamp and windows media player, so I haven't just stopped using itunes. But the real problem is that it is so random it's nearly impossible to test. I've tried several different methods of fixing this without tearing down itunes and re-coding it And every time, I THINK I've fixed it only to have it happen again within a week. Hence why this has been a problem for well over 8 months now. It's a small enough issue that I'm still listening to music without loads of problems, but it is a persistent, if infrequent, annoyance.
ANY help you guys can offer me would be greatly appreciated, though I'm not holding my breath since the problem is so weird. But I am willing to try anything if it might work. I can only try them out till they don't work, right?

I'm sorry to hear about your ipod, I'm also having the same trouble but my is been going on for like a day or two. I have a nano 5th generation but all of the sudden it reseted itself it turn itself off then apple logo appeared and after that it was playing the songs like it should, mine was the same as you I'll be playing a very fast song and then it'll slow it down it was frustraded I hope this will help you. good luck to you and to me too because I only hope that I won't have the same problem later on.

Airtunes music cuts out periodically

Hi,
I am on a wireless network. An airport extreme is the main router, and there is also an airport express set up with speakers connected for using airtunes. Both airports are close together, and usually I use my laptop from no more than 10 ft away from either of them with no thick walls or anything like that around. A kitchen with appliances is near by, but other laptops don't have an issues.
The problem is this: periodically my airtunes will just stop for 2-5 seconds as if someone had paused the music. Since no one else has issues I don't think this is airport related. And the range can't be the issue... And it happens no matter how many applications might be open.
Does anyone know what the problem might be? Thanks.

Music randomly speeds up during play

as above, when I'm playing music through my headphones, my music keeps randomly speeding up.
When you press pause, the play icon won't appear and just stays on pause.
This is really starting to get on my nerves now.

Music Off CD Skipping When Played Through Ipod

Like the topic say's, i bought the new Alicia Keys Unplugged CD and when i load it onto my itunes then update my ipod it plays but skips through every song. All my other cd's play just fine.
I really want this album on my ipod for when i go home and its driving me crazy.

Music cuts out periodically while playing wirelessly through Apple TV

I've got a new-generation Qwest modem/router, and the distance between the router and the Apple TV isn't that far, so I don't think that's the problem. I'm wondering whether it more likely is the slow processor or minimal 2GB of RAM in my aging, low-end PC. Thoughts? Similar experiences? Thanks much.

unlikely as the itunes server is an old mac mini g4 with 512mb of RAM, and runs flawlessly streaming all my content (music and SD/HD video).

Cuts songs off during playback

My 32 GB Ipod Touch seems to cut songs short during play back. It appears that it only happens to AAC format songs I have ripped from CD's.

In iTunes have you tried right clicking the song, then click Get Info. Go to the options tab and make sure "Stop Time" is not ticked?

That definitely sounds frustrating. If the songs are not playing fully in iTunes, they may need to be redownloaded. After you have redownloaded the songs, they should play fully and you can enjoy them when you go running. If not, please let me know.
