Airtunes: set up problems with bt homehub

This thread http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8127213&#8127213 does not solve my problem.. I tried all the different suggestions and still no joy.
All I want is to stream music over the speakers of the hifi wirelessly. I don't need a second network or an extension to weak spots. (although if that is the only/easier solution I'll take it)
Right now, if I manage to get Airtunes working, I cannot connect to the internet. If I have the internet, the Airport Express fall away. How do I get internet+Airtunes simultaneously? (i.e. how do I make Airport Express a client of the Bt HomeHub)
I'll happily provide more details of settings, there are so many I don't know which ones would be useful right now.

I've tried so many different suggestions and variations, and still AE drops from view after submitting the details through Airport Utility, or it blocks the homehub, which then keeps resetting itself until I switch off AE. Having both internet access and music simultaneously would be most wonderful At the moment I still have to switch.

Open current iTunes on your computer. Connect iPhone to the computer with the Lightning USB Cable. BOINC / SETI@home Problem with idle-Mode

Hello,
I installed Boinc and connected to the seti@home project.
I tried both, the local preferences in boinc-manager and the online-preferences for boinc and seti@home. I told the client to start working after the pc has been idle for 3 minutes and to stop working when the pc is in use (keyboard or mouse movement).
Unfortunately it does not work. Boinc waits for 3minutes before it starts working, but it doesn't stop when I use keyboard or mouse...
Any suggestions are most welcome!

The Boinc client is only set up for stopping if the non-Boinc processes throw the processor more than 25%.
Are you using boinc or boinc-nox? I'm using boinc-nox because I don't really need the graphics. This might be a solution if you aren't using it. The problem I'm having and it might actually be my broad-failure card, but it might also be a race condition with my boinc.

Initial Set Up Problem With Included Cable

As I excitedly unpacked my new ipad yesterday and cut it on I got the connect to itunes alert on the screen which I expected. When I made the connection with the included cable to my laptop and activated itunes nothing happened, itunes never recognized the ipad and cutting the ipad on off just continued to show the connect to itunes alert. I was beginning to panic a little at that point. Tried closing and reopening itunes, rebooting the computer, rebooting the ipad. Nothing worked. Then I tried that reset method of holding down the sleep/wake and home buttons down until the Apple symbol comes up. Apparently doing it the way I did put it in recovery mode which for some reason itunes recognized and went through the laborious process of downloading the software and preforming a restore.
I wasn't happy about that but at least itunes finally "saw" the ipad. So after it went through that process a message came up that the restore was being verified with Apple. After several minutes of that got a message that restore had failed. Now I was really panicked and tried to do the same all over again hoping that it would work. Well it didn't work, kept coming back to the failed message and essentially now I had a brick. I calmed down a little and went online to make an appointment with the genius bar of a local Apple store for this morning. Out of curiosity and as a last resort I tried one of my iphone cables and right away I noticed something. Whenever you connect an ipod touch, iphone or ipad to a charger you get that little audible sound that I call a trill. Well I heard that right away when I used the iphone cable which made me realize that I had not heard that on any of my previous attempts. iTunes saw the ipad, went through the activation process and everything set up fine afterwards. I cancelled the genius bar appointment.
I thought I would post this just in case others may run into the same problem. By the way my wifi has worked perfectly so far with no connection issues. Don't know when or if I will set up the 3G access.

Thanks for the suggestion but I did purchase Applecare as well so I shouldn't have any problem if there is an issue. And I probably will check out 3G at some point but for now there are no issues at all, no wifi connection issues, no drops coming out of sleep, no weak or slow connections. Nothing like what I've read in these other threads so I don't really expect any 3G problems.

BCS Set Permissions problem with PowerShell

Hello, I am seeing an odd behavior, was wondering if anyone else encountered this problem before.
I have a large BDC Model with multiple Entities (ECTs) that was created with Visual Studio, as part of the process we have a Powershell script that iteritates all the entities and sets their permissions to the 'All Authenticated Users' group.

The script works fine as expected, however when you try to access the External List that is based on one of these ECTs, you get access denied. I then go into BCS validate the permissions are set as expected i.e. 'All Authenticated Users' is selected with
the four permission, and it looks fine. try again access denied. I then go and remove the 'All Authenticated Users' group from Permissions, and manually re-add it back, try the External list again, now it works. !
Has one seen this before or can comment on why it is not working with powershell? is there a service recycling needed perhaps or something like that?

its too repetitive to keep adding permissions via CA, there are a lot of entities and we are in a constant state of developing the BDC solution so we are deploying it a lot.
In ULS, it looks like impersonation is breaking down with ReadList and NT AUTHORITY\IUSR

Set up problems with my new I pad

I am trying to set up my new I pad. It asked which network to join but it will not accept the password I put in.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

HP Officejet Pro 8620 - set up problem with MAC OSX version 10.7.5

I have just bought a new Officejet Pro 8620 and all set up fine to a point. Problem is that when I try the HP Utility set-up and click on "Add Printer" and identify it as "Bonjour Malfunction" and select the printer from the pull down menu list, I receive the message:
"The software for this printer is currently unavailable, please contact the printer's manufacturer for the latest software".
I have already downloaded the latest software from theHP website - but stil no resolution.
Any help please would be gratefully received.

I would be happy to provide some help regarding your Officejet 8620 and installing the software on the Mac. The first thing I suggest is to ensure all the HP Software is removed from the Mac. I suggest uninstalling the HP Software. After the software is uninstalled I recommend performing a "repair disk permissions" on your Mac. A repair disk permissions is a utility built in the Mac operating system designed to locate and resolve issues or errors that may cause complications when re-installing. After the repair disk permission is complete restart your Mac and try adding the printer again.

There is only software available for Mac 10.10. Unfortunately there is no full feature software and driver available for Mac 10.7. You should still be able to add the printer using the AirPrint drivers. Go into System Preferences from the Apple icon and click on printer and scanner. In the printer and scanner window click the add printer icon and you should be able to add the 8600 printer via Wi-Fi and AirPrint.
I recommend checking for software updates on the Mac. To check for software updates click the "apple" icon at the to left and click on "software update". Install any HP or printer updates. After any updates you should restart the computer. and try printing.

New mac set up problems with time machine

Bought a new 21 inch mac yesterday and going through set up I tried to use my time machine disk at the appropriate point (when it asked me) to copy the data. Now the mac refuses to move on, after it rebooted I get the apple sign and the swirling thing despite a pram reset and booting in safe mode.
Any ideas on how I can force the mac to go back to original settings, it's literally just come out of the box and problems happened at the time machine part on set up.

Startup your Mac while holding down the Option key.
That should launch the Startup Manager window where you can select the startup disk then click Restart.
If that doesn't work, startup your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys.
From there you will have access to the built in utilities to restore OS X using OS X Recovery.
There is an option to restore from a Time Machine backup using OS X Recovery, but in this case, just restore OS X first. Get your Mac working again before using Time Machine.

Is there an issue with DW (I am using DW CS4) setting permissions for folders or files? I tried setting permissions to a couple of files in DW by right-clicking the file. The File Access Properties dialog box appears, I set permissions, click OK, and assume the permissions are set. But when I check the permissions again by right-clicking the file, none of the permissions I set remained set according to the dialog box. So, I have been setting permissions using Cpanel. After setting permissions for files in Cpanel, I double-check the permissions and they seem to be set. Then going back to DW, the permissions are not set according to DW's File Access Properties dialog box.
Can anyone enlighten me on this situation?

I'm trying to start it with HTTP port 80 and HTTPS port 443 and next to
set uid to other user but server gives me:

There is such library and LIBPATH is set correctly. Perhaps
libweblogicunix1.so depends on other libraries, but which they are ?
I suppose that this library has got a very small functionality. I'm
looking for sources or some other solution.

Set-up problems with Airport Express

Hi,
I am trying to set up an Airport Express to allow me to wirelessly stream Spotify to my audio system via iPhone/iPad etc. As such, I believe I need to set the Airport Express to join my existing network.
However, getting a green light on the Airport Express has proved elusive. I have tried to set-up via the Airport Utility on my iPhone 5 and almost get there before receiving the "unexpected error" message. I have also tried to set-up via Airport Utility (v.5.6.1) on my iMac (running Mac OS X v.10.6.8). In this case the set-up seems to proceed but, ultimately, the system is unable to see the Airport Express and I am forced to do a hard re-set of the Airport Express.
If anyone could walk me through what I need to do or what is going wrong it would be much appreciated. I have to say that I am distinctly unimpressed with Apple for making this so difficult.

Apple assumes that your existing wireless is using modern industry standard wireless security settings and that you know the name and password of your wireless network.
We will assume that you know the name of the network and the password.
The setting for wireless security on the AirPort is set to WPA/WPA2 Personal since that will work with most modern wireless networks.
However, if your wireless network is using much older...and much less secure.....WEP security settings, the Express will not join your wireless network correctly.
So, the first troubleshooting step would be to check to see exactly what type of wireless security settings that your wireless network is using. Post back with that info when you can and we will continue.
If you do not know what type of wireless security settings your wireless router is using, you may need to consult the documentation for the device,or call your Internet Service Provider for that information.

Set up problems with ipad2

I am trying to go through the basic set up with the ipad 2, when I get to the screen prompting me to select a network I select mine as it is already displayed... nothing is happening at all. There is also an option to connect to itunes to complete set up but when I select that nothing happens either.
I am stuck on this page as the NEXT option isn't available.

i have a the new macbook pro running os x mountain lion software and i have a 3rd gen ATV, i have airplay active on the ATV but the little symbol isnt showing on my macbook, pls can anyone help a noob.... airplay works from my ipad and also iphone 4s to ATV no problems but i cannot get the macbook to mirror on my HDTV. am i doing something wrong? is there a setting i need to activate on the MBP?

AirPlay Mirroring is only available in OS X Mountain Lion > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5404. First, open  > About this Mac and check Version.
If it's 10.7, you have two possibilities:
1. Open App Store and purchase Mountain Lion. After upgrading, you will be able to use AirPlay Mirroring on System Preferences > Displays, or on the menu bar. Note that, if you bought your Mac after July 26th, 2012, you can upgrade to Mountain Lion for free > http://www.apple.com/osx/uptodate/
2. Use AirParrot > http://www.airparrot.com
If it's 10.8, open System Preferences > Displays, and select your Apple TV in "AirPlay Mirroring"

I am currently connected wirelessly to the internet via an Airport Express in my office. I purchased another Airport Express so that I can connect my stereo in the living room to my computer in order to use Air Tunes. I can not for the life of me connect the new Airport Express to my existing network. The light continues to flash amber. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It turned out that this was a gateway issue. When I tried a Linksys and Buffalo gateway, this problem vanished. The actual reason and rationale for it remains unclear.

Set up problems with my WRE54G

I have a new WRT54GS hooked up to a wired PC, and a wireless laptop.
In setting up my range expander, the set-up wizard's on the wired PC " site survey" fails and is not able to continue. On the wireless laptop it completes the site survey, but the "setup utility is unable to located a range expander on my network."
UGH. Any thoughts?

hi , try this....reset the Re for 1 minute...on your PC, scan for the wireless networks and connect to the SSID of the RE...once connected , run the setup disc for the RE
