  • Connection manager fatal error

I have an hp sleekbook 6-1110us. I keep getting a
Connection manager fatal error a lot. Also It causes my computer to freeze and stop working only after 45mins of using it.

    Hi,
Are you running Windows 8, or Windows 8.1 on the notebook?
Can you provide more details on the Fatal Error, i.e. specifically what does the error message say?
Have you run HP Support Assistant and made sure all the drivers and software are up to date?  If you haven't done that in a while, do that first.
If the problems continue, I would probably start by uninstalling HP Connection Manager for now, and see if the other problems go away (Connection Manager isn't required for the network connections to work, it just makes managing them easier).  Before you uninstall it though, check out the version number and note that down.  If the problems do go away, you may try installing the latest version of HP Connection Manager, or just running the notebook without it.
Good Luck, and let us know how it turns out.

Although I am an HP Employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

  • HP Connection Manager Fatal Error

When I boot up my HP Pavilion dv6t, a popup will appear and say
    HPConnectionManager.exe - Fatal error
A fatal error has occured, check the HP Connection Manager in Event Viewer for more details.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
I've tried repairing but that didn't work and I've also downloaded HP Connection Manager version 4.1.25.1 but that didn't do anything. Someone help?

Well, I fixed it. I restored my computer because my HP Recovery Manager wasn't working so that fixed everything . Although, with any old restore, you have to transfer everything back onto your computer, which took hours

    Hello Experts,
I am getting the same error, I have NW 7.0 with EHP1 so I deployed SSAUI 211, as in above reply the issue resolved.
Any Idea what is the Issue? I checked all the Associated Services they are working fine.

  • Fatal error on trial download?

Trying to download FM 10/Windows from the download page, and get this message from the Akamai download tool:
"Download manager fatal error: Could not find the requested file on the server."
This seems to reference a file named WWEFDJ.exe. Can anyone confirm where the files can be successfully downloaded? Thanks.

I haven't seen that error, but the download manager does produce two files, one .exe and another. The .exe uses the second file during the installation.
Usually the files are either in your browser's \Download folder or on your desktop.
However -- I haven't been able to get the download manager to work in Firefox or Chrome -- it's only worked for me under IE. So you may want to try with IE too.
Also, Adobe doees provide free install support; may be worth a call to see if they have thoughts....

  • CS4 and the EVIL Akamai Download Manager

Hi, I purchased CS4 and am now unable to download the product!
    Can anybody help me? .....pleeeeeeeez
I was able to download all the downloads except the 3.7GB main download.
I have tried in Firefox 3, IE 6, IE 7, Opera.
I have tried on 2 different computers.
I have downloaded the latest Active X components and latest Java platforms for both IE and Firefox.
I have enabled cookies, javascript, popus, ads.
I have disabled all firefox plugins, firewalls and antivirus.
I have checked with my ISP that I can in fact download such big files.
I have successfully managed to download CS3 in the past.
I have plenty of disk space and RAM.
The error message I receive in Firefox reads as follows:
    Download Manager Fatal Error
Could not find the requested file on the server.
Contact the author of the page that contains the link. This download will be canceled.
I have wasted so many hours this trying to get this to work. Also spent a long time on the online chat to support with no success. Trying to contact Adobe over the phone is impossible - whether I try in the morning or evening - the response is "office hours are 9am - 5pm" ...whenever that is!? Clearly its not referring to GMT or the USA time zone. Technical support via the website - well, will see if they ever respond to the case I opened there.
Right now I'm really really hating this Akamai download manager. Anybody know how to get a NORMAL link to download so I can use my normal download manager?

dont worry any more with cs5  its realy easy and realy high speeeeeeeed downloading and you can use your own download manager
    just visit

  • Adobe Downloading Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 MultipleLanguages Windows  The Akamai Download Manager has encountered an fatal error: File not found.

I am trying to download the trial of PSE 13 which consists of two files. The first downloads ok but on the second I get this message:
Downloading Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 MultipleLanguages Windows
The Akamai Download Manager has encountered an fatal error: File not found.
Same thing happens if I try to download the files individually and also in different browsers. Any ideas?

Me three.   I have been trying for hours, and have used three different browsers.
I have just noticed that the URL it is trying to use is looking for ...win32.exe under a directory called win64. That sounds like a stupid typo mistake.  I manually modified the URL to this instead (and it downloaded something)...
    http://trials3.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/PSE/13/win32/PhotoshopElements_13_LS25_win32.exe
Now I just need to figure out how to install the product manually using the two downloaded files!?!

  • Fatal Error with Java ME Device Manager and SDK Updates

I recently installed the Java ME 3 EA SDK Platform which looks promising. Everything seem to work fine. In the process of new updates and the desire to remove some older versions of Java, I installed a new Java versions (1.6.0_11) and removed some old ones (1.6_0_04 and 1.6_0_10).

When I say No, it appears to not start at all. When I say Yes, it appears to try to start but I continually get errors as listed above for the Java ME Device Manager startup error.
After reinstalling the _10 version, things started to work again, so I suspect this is due to my removal of the an older version of the JDK.
How is the proper way to "update" without causing similar errors? Are the environment variable JAVA_HOME, JAVA2_HOME, or some other variable used to specify the JDK/JRE in use? I would rather not be forced to change my startup each time to specify a -jdkhome related parameter.
Should I install the new version, find install the "Java Platform" in the SDK/Netbeans, set it as
    Also...
How do you set the default version from within the SDK/Netbeans?
And is there a way to prevent the Device Manager from starting?

  • Verizon Access Manager 7.0.8 and 10.6.3 results in fatal error -43

I am trying to get a Verizon modem (UW190) working with my Macbook Pro and 10.6.3. Using 7.0.8 of VZAccess Manager. The modem is detected properly but when you try to activate vzaccess will immediately return a fatal error -43.
If you try to connect to the network, the modem will connect, establish a ppp session but then fail (timeout) when trying to pass configuration options.
Sometimes the VZA Manager will simply crash upon launch.
I confirmed the problem on two different MacBook's both running 10.6.3.
I installed the SAME software onto an iMac with 10.6 and with the same modem it worked fine. When that iMac was subsequently upgraded to 10.6.3, the same fatal error -43 occurred and you could no longer connect with the modem. Same issue on three 10.6.3 machines.
Verizon is NOW passing this information to their tech department. No resolution for now.

Not really. I need to call Verizon and see what they say.
One user posted in the VZ forums that they were able to activate the modem on a windows box, and then subsequently it worked on their Mac.
In my case, I successfully activated the modem on an iMac running 10.6.0. and then was able to use the modem successfully on my 10.6.3 Macbook. Fixed? I don't think so. When I'm prompted to install and 'update' via the VZAccess Manager I instantly get the fatal error -43 thrown back at me. So far though, it continues to work.

  • Desktop Manager generates 0x00000043 fatal error

I was directed to upgrade the latest version of Desktop manager (5.1.0.28).
When loading the Desktop manager and updating my programs the process of updating works smoothly if I only select the application I want to update (example GOTag).
When I select to update to the latest System software (4.6.1.313) and Core Applications then during the process of updating when Desktop Manager displays that it is "load jvm and system software".
Device Manager then generates and "Error" message:
"A fatal error has occurred while updating your device's software. Please try again.
this system software is not designed for the connected device[A:0x00000043]"
    The device is a Sprint/nextel 8350i.
Can I get around this error or should I just not update the BB System Software?
    Any help is appreciated.

I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
    1) Remove your device OS update package from your PC (add/remove programs)
    2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM DTM software:
KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software
    3) Get a fresh download of the RIM DTM software:
    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22
Choose the version that is newest and (if applicable) compatible with your PIM (if you are synchornizing via USB):
KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager for synchronization
    4) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    5) Install DTM to your PC
    6) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package
    7) Start the organizer configuration over:
KB17022 How to configure organizer applications for synchronization using BlackBerry Desktop Manager
Hopefully that will get things going again.

  • I opened the Datasocket manager and got a fatal error?

Initially the error read "Errors loading control. The default settings will be used". When I clicked OK the fatal error read "CWDSSMGR caused an invalid page fault in module at 0000:00000015.Any ideas?

Is this how the full error message looked like: "Error loading control. A newer version needed. The default settings for the control will be used"?
This error message is usually due to the DataSocket sever manager using the DataSocket ActiveX controls that have been saved as a previous version. That would happen if the server manager exe that you are using (i.e. version 6.0.2) is built with the controls shipped with the older version of the cwui.ocx (i.e. version 6.0)
You will need to install the newer cwui.ocx.
Please find attached the latest version (6.0.3) of cwui.ocx.
