  • Recommendations for ipod dock/alarm clock for ipod classic

I want to get a reasonably priced ipod doc/slash alarm clock for my son.  He has a 6th generation ipod classic purchased in December of 2009.  Any suggestions?

The dock adaptor that came with the iPod is meant to fit Apple's universal dock and not a 3rd party accessory.
The reason you are having issues is because although the dock connectors on iPods are all the same (the pins are in the same place), the connector on the second gen nano is in a slightly different place than on the first. If you look at it from the bottom with the iPod face up, it's slightly more to the left. This, and the fact that it has a metal case with rounded edges, has made the new nano incompatible with almost all these type of accessories.
It's been mentioned here several times, and a few people have been able to get the manufacturer of the dock to supply them with an adaptor.

  • Looking for a good sound dock/alarm clock for iPOD Touch 4

I saw one other post asking about a sound dock here and out of the 3 responses, I think only the Bose was mentioned.
I was just curious if and/or what sound dock/alarm clock combos you all would recommend? I just got a hold of the White Noise app and I would like to be able to use it through a sound dock in my bedroom as I sleep with a fan at night and the audio output on the iPOD Touch itself is not loud enough.
I don't want to spend an arm and a leg either on a sound dock/alarm clock if at all possible.
    Thanks,
    Whiteice

Altec Lansing. Im using the 'inMotion compact' and for its size it gives a h*ll of a punch with bass wise. As for as price goes, its reasonable.

  • HT1222 So do you all use timer more than alarm clock for iPhone 5?  pane?

I find myself using alarm clock all the time and not the timer under the bottom quick control pane. Why hasn't Apple changed that?

I'm wih Allan on this. And I've got one-button access to the Alarm. I use Siri.

  • Alarm clock with iOS 7

With the new upgrade, you can no longer play music from your library as the wake-up, you have to use the sound tones.  Any way around this?  The upgrade, btw Apple, is disappointing.  Wish I had kept the 6 version.

On iPad you can still do so. When you pick the alarm sound scroll all the way up and you should see "Pick a song". If you don't
    Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
    Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.
Here is a link to their contacts with most of the information below.

  • Speaker for alarm clock not working

I set the alarm clock for seven AM which seems to come on and flash, but I don't hear any alarm coming from the ipod touch. any ideas? thanks

This is a bug. Whenever you sync it screws up your alarm. If you hold down the on off button for a few seconds and then slide the red slider, and then turn it back on, it gets "fixed." But it will get screwed up again.
This is a BUG. Keep reporting it directly to support!
    FIX IT APPLE!!!!

  • Alarm Clock going Crazy after updating 3GS

After updating to iOS 4.1 on my 3GS when I set the alarm clock for 7am it goes off at 6am.
How can I get my phone's alarm to go off at the time a set it to, instead of an hour earlier?

I have the same problem, and so did everyone at uni I asked this week, but it seems to only be the alarms that are set to repeat each week, if you set a "one off" alarm it goes off at the right time which makes it more confusing. Must have something to do with daylight savings and the fact the government keeps making it start earlier and earlier each year.

  • Ihandy alarm clock pro no sound

I have used the ihandy alarm clock for a few years on my 3GS no problems.
It's great as you can set the alarm to your choice of music and give the phone a shake to snooze rather than push buttons
Since upgrading to an iphone 5 the alarm has failed to go off on three occasions... slept in once, wife's alarm got me off the hook the other twice
The first time I thought I had forgot the alarm or had the sound turned off. All other sounds on the phone were silent. A reset fixed things
The second time the display showed that the alarm was running but there was no sound. A reset was required to get any sound out of any application
On both occasions the sound button was set to on.
I wasn't able to reproduce the problem and neither was the person at the Apple store but they replaced the phone THANK YOU
That was a week ago and it has been fine till this morning... same problem, saved by my wife's alarm
There are a few posts about similar irrefular problems but no apparent conclusive solution
    Any ideas please?
    Thanks
    Peter

I've had the same problem with the iHandy alarm clock on my iPhone 4.  Sometimes the alarm works fine, but randomly (twice per month?) it will appear to be alarming, but with no sound.  Once that happens, there's no sound from any app, and I can only fix it by rebooting the phone.
I've tried checking the sound on the phone every night before going to sleep, but even that's not a reliable precaution.  One time the alarm sounded normally at the alarm time - I pressed snooze and went back to sleep - then the alarm failed to sound at the snooze time.
I switched back this week to the "12,24 Alarm Clock Sleep Music" app - it's an older app and doesn't have as many features as iHandy, but I haven't had reliability problems with it.
I wonder if iHandy's "background alarm" functionality somehow conflicts with the iOS?  The 12,24 clock doesn't have that feature, which is one of the reasons I switched to iHandy clock - but it's more important to have a reliable alarm.

  • Battery Drain With Alarm Clock Function

This just started happening to me last week.  I have 4 alarms set during the week days...in case I hit the 'Dismiss' button by accident. These alarms have been set since I got my phone in October. Well, last week I noticed that after the 4th alarm had gone off, my battery had gone down to 48% while still plugged into the charger.  This phone is usually on the charger all night with no problems and at 100% by the time I leave for work...until now.  Any ideas why this might be?
I currently am recreating the issue by setting my alarms for PM and seeing if there're any changes.
    Thanks!

I set the alarm clocks for PM.....but of course it didn't do anything abnormal. So I set them again for the AM. The next morning, my alarms went off as usual, and the battery stayed fully charged. So I am at a loss as to what was going on previously.  My only conclusion is perhaps the mini USB was not completely inside the port ????  If anything new happens I'll be sure to post.  So far the past two mornings have gone without a hitch.  Go figure!

  • IPod Touch and iHome Alarm Clock

We were just given an iHome (iH4B) alarm clock for iPod. The specs state that it is compatible with the 2g 16gb Touch that we have. However when it is time for the alarm, the music stops after about 30 seconds and is replaced with alarm beeps.
I think there is something wrong with the iHome but am wondering if there is some trick about the Touch that I don't know about.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

If it works with Bose but not with iHome, you should contact iHome.

  • Mutiple alarm clocks in Nokia X3-02

    Hi,
I bought yesterday the Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type. Ater some time "exploring" the device, i'm enjoying what i bought, but there is something missing: the ability to add more than 1 alarm clock. I'm that type of guy that have always 2 alarm clock for diferent times (for the week days) and always have other for weekends!!
Any one knows how can i do this? (or know some app that gives to me the ability to set more than 1 alarm clock??)
Btw, some one also knows any app to find and remove duplicated entries in the phonebook??
    Thanks

It should help you. By default, the standard theme is loaded. But you just need to change
one picture (ie the lockscreen), and export the whole thing in nth.file.
Then, just transfer the file in your cellphone, and it should work. At least, it did for me.
Here's a better illustration (see attachment)

  • Alarm Clock (NOT Jan. 1 issue)

I've had an issue with my iPhone alarm clock for a while now. If your alarm starts going off and then you get another notification then the alarm stops going off. I feel this is something that definitely should not be happening. I wanted to e-mail Apple directly about this, but couldn't manage to find the e-mail address. I'm assuming it's probably just [email protected], but I wanted to find the site link for it so that it would actually go directly to the right department.
Anyways, anyone else ever have this issue? I would love to see a fix for this come out considering it's been an issue as long as notifications have been around.

I have a feeling it's not a huge problem because of the fact that it has not yet been addressed. I will check the places you suggested as well as call Apple, but I have a feeling neither will have a solution.
I figured out how to replicate the issue. I have a game that will send people on missions and when they get back it gives a notification. I sent someone on a mission that took two minutes and then set an alarm to go off after 1 minute. The alarm starts going off, but then when the notification for the mission complete comes up the alarm stops sounding and vibrating. This is a huge problem in my eyes, and should definitely be taken care of.
If anyone else could try replicating this and let me know their results I'd be very grateful.
    Thanks,
    Andy G
