Alarm Clock Ringtone Changed after Upadting to iOS8

Hi there,
I have been having this problem and I wonder if anyone is also experiencing the same problem as well.
My alarm clock ringtone has been changed ever since I updated my iPhone 5s from iOS7 to iOS8. The ringtone is really short, which only lasts no more than 5 seconds.
In iOS7, it repeats itself for the alarm. However right now in iOS8, it only rings once, and only once, and that is it (which causes a problem for me to go to work because before it would repeat itself and now since it only rings once I also miss it. And I have been using this ringtone forever so I do not want to change).
So I am wondering if this is a bug, or if the features of the ringtone havebeen changed for iOS8?
Thanks for your answers and I really appreciate it.
Best regards.

My alarm continues to work exactly the same as it did under iOS 7. However, a few people seem to have had problems with alarms. Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears? You might also try deleting your alarms and redoing them.

  • Alarm Clock going Crazy after updating 3GS

After updating to iOS 4.1 on my 3GS when I set the alarm clock for 7am it goes off at 6am.
How can I get my phone's alarm to go off at the time a set it to, instead of an hour earlier?

I have the same problem, and so did everyone at uni I asked this week, but it seems to only be the alarms that are set to repeat each week, if you set a "one off" alarm it goes off at the right time which makes it more confusing. Must have something to do with daylight savings and the fact the government keeps making it start earlier and earlier each year.

  • Mac's clock being changed after rebooting from XP in FAT32

Hi everyone, I understand that some people have issues with boot camp not being able to find Windows during startup while holding the 'Option' button - I'm stucked with that too unfortunately. But here's another thing, has anyone notice that the clock under Mac would constantly change after it is loaded back in Leopard, after using XP? I seem to have this problem. After finishing using Windows and booting back into Mac using the BT's control panel, my Mac's clock is like a few hours behind and I constantly have to click on it to change it back. Funny no? Anybody having this issue - using the FAT32 or NTSF format?

    Lol.
I'm sorry but that genius is waaaay off. it has nothing to do with windows, it has to do with the way EACH OS stores the time in the hardware EFI/BIOS
Its a known issue with using two different platforms
OSX reads time for the time zone its selected windows doesnt think it needs to change all the time, so it creates its based off the previous changes in BIOS/EFI
The time should auto-adjust in Windows/OSX or just click Update Time in either
icrosoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems handle your computer's date and time information differently, so the date and time may be different when you switch operating systems. For best results, use a network time server and resync the date and time whenever you switch operating systems. In Mac OS X, use the “Set date & time automatically” option in the Date & Time preferences. In Microsoft Windows, click the Update Now button in the “Date and Time Properties” control panel.

  • Clock settings changes after switch reloads.

    Hi .
I have upgraded IOS for 85 switches in Campus area network from IOS c2950-c3h2s-mz.120-5.3.WC.1.bin to latest IOS downloaded c2950-i6q4l2-mz.121-22.EA4.bin.Switch clock settings changes to 1st March whenever any switch reload or power cycled.Kindly suggest me solution.
    With regards,
    Shailen Mehta

I believe that Georg is exactly correct on this issue. Switches like these do not have a built in clock chip so they can not keep track of correct time through a reload. Every time they reload (for any reason including installation of new software) they start from a default date and time. The best solution is to configure them to use NTP to learn time from some authoritative source.
If you are connected to the Internet there are many authoritative time sources available that you can use. You configure one (or more if you want redundancy) router to learn time from an authoritative source in the Internet and you configure your other routers and switches to learn time from these routers. If you are not connected to the Internet (or for some policy reason can not learn time from an authoritative Internet source) then you can configure one (or more if you want redundancy) of your routers to serve as the NTP master and have your other routers and switches learn time from this router(s).
This is a good solution for the issue of switches losing the correct time when they reload.

  • My clock is changing after every start of OSX Or WINXP. What is it?

I had a problem in the beginning with my iMac: It didn't shut down correctly and made weird thinks. I brought is to the Apple Centre and they said that could be a hardware problem. After the inspection they said that every part is OK. Then I had to pay 80Euro because they made something with my software.
They said that the timezone in some Appz isn't configured correct and that they did this for me. Now I have the same Problem again and it don't matters what i'm supposed to do with it, it doesn't stop.
That problem began as i connected the mac the last time to the internet for update and turned on the automatical clockconfig over apple.
I turned it off already but nor OSX nor Windows are remembering the correct time, even if i confiure it well and reboot after that.
And after this problem the mac begins to do weird things like last time. The Appz aren't working correct and it boots and shuts down not correct and very long.
If somebody knows something about that, please help me.

  • Is it possible to set a new default ringtone for alarm clock?

Just wondering if it is possible to set a specific ringtone to all alarms in the alarm clock without changing each alarm individually?  My husband needs a MUCH louder alarm tone than the default.
    Thanks.

    Thank you for posting.
When you say "Is it possible to set a minimum sale amount for eCommerce - $20 for example?", are you saying the customer should not be able to check out if he has less than $20 in the shopping?
If so, then it is not possible. I've not seen such kind of custom set up in BC yet. However, I'll leave this post open. If any of our partners have done it before, they might be able to help you.

  • Anyone having trouble with the snooze function for the alarm?  ...after update.

I've been using my phone as an alarm clock lately and after the latest firmware update I can't get the snooze to work on the alarm.  The alarm goes off like it should and I select "snooze" with the ring but the alarm never goes off again.  I was almost late to work the first time it did it.
Just checking to see if anyone else has experienced this.  I have to say, I am not impressed with the latest "update" at all and have spent WAY too much time trying to get things to work again.  If it wasn't a company issued phone I would've dropped the service long ago (no service at my desk at work or at home).

Try going into settings, apps and then manage apps.  At the top scroll over and make sure all is selected.  Scroll down and find the alarm app and tap on it.  If clear data is populated then tap on it.  After that tap on force close...you will get a warning but just press ok.  If clear data is grayed out at least try force stop.  Set your alarm back up and see if that works.

  • IPhone Alarm Clock issue after iOS4.0 upgrade

    This is a strange one;
Upgraded to i0S4.0 couple of days ago, and since then the default alarm clock app has gone haywire. It has duplicated each of my alarms (I must've had about 9 in there fore various things) about 50 times.
If I try and delete them, they disappear but if I exit and then re-enter the app, they're all there again!
    Any suggestions?
    Cheers.

I'm having the same issue. I had 8 or 9 legitimate alarms set, as well, but now there are somewhere between 1500 and 2000 with a couple hundred duplicates of each one. The number of duplicates is growing, too, but I can't tell if the additions happen each time I sync the phone or each time the clock program is reloaded on the phone. I noticed this first on my 3G after upgrading it, and it is also happening on the iPhone 4 having all my data transferred from a backup made of the 3G running 4.0. I've also noticed that if I try to delete them from my phone, at some point the clock program becomes nearly unresponsive causing even other programs than the clock to crash and requiring the phone to be resynced.
I've seen a couple of people mentioning similar issues in other threads that sound like they could be related or even the same, and they are always talking about upgrades on the same phone. There doesn't seem to be anyone affected who transferred directly from a 3.x device to a new 4.0 device.
While not a solution, here's at least my suggestion of why it's happening. I've poked around a bit in the backup files stored on my laptop from this phone (under ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync), and I've found two different plist files in the same backup storing the alarms in two slightly different formats.
This is purely conjecture, but I would guess what happened is the location & format between 3.x and 4.0 of where the alarm data is stored changed. The "upgrade" isn't a complicated process that mulls over and handles situations like this during the install. It's just a wholesale firmware replacement. Any changes like this would probably need to be handled by the actual programs themselves when they're running on the phone. Something in the upgrade process that's supposed to translate the old format to the new format is broken leaving behind the old data instead of removing it after the conversion, and every so often some trigger in the clock program (like a check for new data after a sync or just the initial loading when the phone restarts) is causing it to see that old 3.1 style data still there, redo the conversion process, and reimport what it finds as another set of duplicates.
That's only a guess, though, and as it's a one-way backup-only folder I can't edit them and resync to see if cutting them out of the data files on the laptop will remove them from the phone. Even if this is wrong, though, I can't imagine how it could be anything too far different from this. That would be a very simple bug to introduce into the code that would be specialized enough to be easy to overlook in testing. Again, that's all just a guess.
While I'm making wild speculations: I'm guessing the problem with the phone needing to be resynced when deleting several alarms is from one of these files on the phone storing the alarm data getting corrupted. If I was a betting man, I'd say this is likely due to corruption making the XML of the plist malformed from different threads writing changes to it simultaneously because it's so huge from all these entries and seeking through the file to update it is taking longer than anyone would reasonably expect and test for or program to protect against. Because, honestly, who thinks while coding something like this, "I need to make sure the user is safe when editing 2000 alarms..."

  • Alarm clock problem after Sync with N73

I have a problem with the alarm clock in my N73 (RM-133). From the moment on I had my phone synchronized with Outlook via Nokia PC Suite, the alarm clock fails to start the phone from power-off state - it switches on, and then the software crashes. A working alarm clock can only be restored by formatting the phone with *#7370# and therefore losing all settings and data.
Another thing that can be seen is that, after a Sync, if I set the alarm clock, turn off the phone, immediately turn it on again, the alarm clock is still set to its time, but the alarm symbol (the little bell) is no longer displayed.
I have absolutely no idea what the reason may be. It can not be incompatible installed apps, as the problem also occurs after a total reset without changing any setting in the phone. I have already once changed my hardware on warranty. I am always using the latest (unbranded original Nokia) FW available, same goes for PC Suite. Any ideas?

Oj, just relax and buy another phone, that's exactly what Nokia wants! I did so after 3 times sending back my N73 for various defects (keys, display, camera), then took a E65 for 2 years (which is far better, but not perfect, worked after 1 time exchange with a faulty SIM card reader), now I have a N82 which I had to exchange 6 (six) times for not having several stuck keys, scratches on the display, dust inside the display. This N82 now "only" makes strange noises when pressing keys like double-sided adhesive tape not properly fixed. Nokia knows about that problem (asked today in a shop). They fix it, but can't guarantee it getting better.
So... just sit back, relax, and throw all your expectations about quality from Nokia over board, learn how to be happy for getting some (mostly useless) answer from the support at all, and never think you could get a masterpiece of a working phone from Nokia if you pay them 'only' 400 bucks.

    Hello there philp_69,
If I understand correctly it sounds like your phone hasnt been recognized in iTunes on your PC since the last couple of updates. I would use the troubleshooting in the following article which will walk you through the steps one by one.

After I set a repeating alarm clock to off, it goes back to on after a few seconds. What is happening and how do I fix it? I have an iPod touch, 4th generation, iOS 5, no jailbreak whatsoever.

    Try the following:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

  • How can I change the alarm clock sound on my iPhone

I can't figure out how to change the alarm sound on the Alarm Clock in my iPhone?  Anybody got an idea for me?

What's wrong with you? Oh, now that you realized you made a mistake and I didn't say "Alarming"? The app tited "Alarmed" is the first thing that pops up if you search the App Store using the search term "Alarmed". It is also the name of the app as it appears on the screen of my phone.  Oh, and the developer refers to it as "Alarmed" on his website. It may not have occured to you but, it is possible for more than one app to have the same name. Most of the people here are smart enough to figure out which one is the alarm clock by reading the description. But, we've already covered the reading comprehension thing,

  • Issues with Alarm Clock after DST switch

Since ages now my iPhone's alarm clock is setting off at 6am...Since ages? Yep! True! But, actually: BUT not any more since the DST switch last weekend.
Since then it sets off one hour late!!!
And this without having changed anything in the definition of the alarm!
And this with the phone's time displaying the right (winter) time!

This is an acknowledged bug on iOS4.1 (at least according to an article on the Guardian). It was found about 3 weeks ago in Australia and NZ where DST change happened then. It only affects recurring alarms (one-off alarms are working fine). I have to do some research but it looks that also affected some calendar appointments set on time zones different than mine. The recommended action is to set up one-off alarms only but I find better to set my recurring alarms one hour early until a patch is issued by Apple.
