Alarm Clock that automatically turns iPhone on

I just switched from the blackberry over to the iPhone, and while I absolutely love it, one thing that the bberry does have that the iPhone does not was an alarm clock that allowed you to turn off your phone overnight and charge, with the alarm clock automatically turning the phone back on at whatever time the alarm was set for.
I've done a little bit of research, but ive yet to find a solution, be it an app or a simple setting on the phone itself. Does anyone have any helpful info or solutions?

No, there is no way to do that. There is no setting for an alarm -> phone on function, and no 3rd party apps are allowed access to core functions such as that. No apps can run with the phone off. You do realize that the BB isn't truly "off" if there is an alarm app running...
If it's a matter of the phone not ringing, you can manually set the ring/silent switch to silent (with vibrate off set in Settings). The alarm will still sound, but you'll have to remember to move the switch back to ring.

  • Alarm clock on iPad turns off when I open cover:

Recently (the last 2 weeks) when I have an alarm on my iPad set to go off in the morning, this is what happens: I hear the alarm going off. I open the cover to hit snooze. In the past, when I opened the cover, I had the option of hitting snooze or ok. (Ok to turn off alarm clock alarm.). The odd thing that's been happening now is, when the alarm goes off, the minute I open the cover, the alarm stops. I can't hit snooze or OK, because opening the cover is triggering the alarm to turn off. I haven't changed any settings. No one else uses my iPad 2. It's not happening every day, just randomly. I have rebooted my iPad, but it still does it. (more often than not!). Thanks

  • Does alarm clock drain down our iphones' batteries?

Well, I went to App store and looked for "alarm clock free for iphone." The results appeared are vary. But the question is I don't know if these apps would drain down our iphones' batteries due to the fact that we must run the app through the night in order to show the digital clock and let it wake you up in the morning. Please help me answer this question. Appreciate it!

I have used the phone ( and my BlackBerry in the past ) as a clock, with alarm when and if needed in this fashion for years. ( pretty much all my phones since Lithium ion batteries became the norm, in lieu of NiCad or NiMh ) .... Never had a problem and the original factory battery usually outlived the phone. Battery does get exercised with use in the day, and charge cycles ( the criterion specified for battery life) are significantly reduced.  I suspect one of the 'requirements' to run the battery wayyyyyy down has something to do with re calibrating  the battery gauge , but I personally have never had battery life issues with any phone ( maybe just pure luck, but ..... ). Also, here in the Caribbean, where power black outs aren't uncommon,  its nice to know your trusty cell is charged ....  When the power goes out, it may be 20 min or 4 hrs..... So if/when that happens , I turn off Bluetooth and wifi right away.  With modem & router unpowered, thus no wifi, it will help conserve battery by preventing phone from searching for a signal which ain't there :-)

  • How can I change the alarm clock sound on my iPhone

I can't figure out how to change the alarm sound on the Alarm Clock in my iPhone?  Anybody got an idea for me?

What's wrong with you? Oh, now that you realized you made a mistake and I didn't say "Alarming"? The app tited "Alarmed" is the first thing that pops up if you search the App Store using the search term "Alarmed". It is also the name of the app as it appears on the screen of my phone.  Oh, and the developer refers to it as "Alarmed" on his website. It may not have occured to you but, it is possible for more than one app to have the same name. Most of the people here are smart enough to figure out which one is the alarm clock by reading the description. But, we've already covered the reading comprehension thing,

  • Xpressmusic 5130 with a alarm clock that will ring...

Currently, the alarm clock only allows me to set one time to ring. (Wake-up time)
I am wondering is there any app to replace this alarm clock or I can use

You can use the reminder function in the calender instead. It will allow you to set multiple alarms for each day & you can set it to ring daily if required.
Please mark the post as solution if it solves your problem.

  • Alarm clock that goes off to music on your iTouch?

Is there an application that can do that?

i believe andy's right, it isn't possible due to the software at the moment.
and yes, BE PATIENT. world-wide user forums. people have to sleep/work/live, we don't sit here all day every day (and night) waiting for your post. people who have the answer to your solution might not happen to see your post within minutes. hey, maybe not within hours.

  • Turning the vibrate off on the alarm clock

Does anyone know how to turn off the vibrate function on the alarm clock that comes standard on the 4S?  I have a nice tune playing to wake me up and it's ruined by the jarring noise the phone makes as it vibrates.  I still want it to vibrate for other notifications.
    Thanks,
    PW

Yeah, that is an unfortunate feature loss of the new iPhone. I think that it's just that Apple finally feels confident in the battery life on 3G that they don't feel that being able to turn it off is necessary for decent battery life (by their standards).

If your talking about turning off Cellular Data, that does not turn off 3G. Which is what mreda is wanting to know.

  • Want to get a alarm clock base for the 3g iPhone - any suggestions?

I want to get an alarm clock base for my iPhone 3g.
I have a couple of specs I would like:
A large clock display, preferably in blue
I want to be able to use speaker phone with the phone plugged in the base & have it come through the speakers
    Past that, I dont care
    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Hi,
There's a few on the Apple online store: http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shopiphone/iphoneaccessories/speakers?mco=MTU2NjA5OQ
You can also see the ratings and comments left by other customers that purchased the device.

  • Music Alarm Clock

Hi. I was wondering if there is any way to use the ipod touch as an alarm clock that plays music. With my ipod video, it could either play a playlist, or my ihome alarm clock could play it. But with the touch, it cant play music with its own alarm, and the ihome cant wake it up and play it all at once. Does anyone know if there is something that will work? (why would apple take out something thats actually useful like this?)

I played with this a bit tonight after discovering that my son's Touch apparently didn't wake with his iHome iH8.
I think that turning off the automatic screen lock on the Touch will prevent it from locking up, and allow the alarm clock to wake up the Touch to play music. I've run a couple quick tests and they seem to corroborate that. I'll let you know how it goes in the morning...
So, you've got a choice: hassle of no music via your iHome, or hassle of disabling the screen lock.

  • Native Alarm Clock interrupted by push notifications

I have an iPhone 3 GS with the latest ( as of 3/1/2011 ) IOS installed. The Clock application has 3 alarms set to go of each Weekday, 15 minutes apart , using the default alarm sound. This is designed to make sure I get out of bed for work in the morning, even if snooze or "ok" the first alarm.
    Environment:
My iPhone is plugged into the charger ( can't have it not wake me up due to dead batt)
Home Screen is in the foreground ( no apps open )
Screen is locked ( but not passcoded )
Alarms are set, the first one has snooze enabled, the 2nd and 3rd do not.
For the last 2 days, the 1st alarm goes off, I swipe to unlock the screen, the popup message disappears, and the alarm sound stops. Note that I am not given the option to snooze or acknowledge the alarm, as soon as I unlock the phone, the alarm turns off.
The next 2 alarms do not sound. If I fall back asleep ( like I usually do ), I wake up by myself, am late for work, and generally have a bad day.
Has anyone else seen this issue? I've tried a multitude of alarm clock programs, but I always come back to the native one since it's the most reliable. I literally own 3 alarm clocks but prefer the iPhone for that purpose.

I verified the issue. When my TextFree application notifies me ( popup message ) that I've received a new text, and then alarm goes off before I unlock the phone screen to view it, the alarm will not sound.
I turned off notications for TextFree last night, and this morning( day 3 of 3 of testing ) the alarms that I set up worked perfectly. This issue might be true for any program that can do popup notifications, but my texting program is the only one that gets a lot of traffic.
    Solved.

  • Alarm Clock apps?!?!?!?!?!?

This is quite ridiculous. The clock app that comes with the iPhone has absolutely NO customization options whatsoever when it comes to alarms, and its just flat out lame. (Apple really outdone themselves to keep everything absolutely simple, they failed, as in functionality, on this criteria this time)
I went on to search for alarm clock apps on the app store and found this free version of Alarm Clock Pro and tried it out, I liked it a bit, it offered a bit of customization than the built in clock app the iPhone comes with. So I went on ahead and bought the Pro version for .99 because the ads on the free version were annoying.
But wait, you have to leave the alarm clock app opened throughout the whole night for it to work to wake you up in the morning? HUH?? WHATS GOING ON?? I always wake up to find that half of the battery from my iPhone is drained because of the alarm app!!!! Ridiculous! I previously owned an android phone and was able to quickly find a free alarm clock app on the market that offered even more customization and all for free, and you dont need to have the app opened for it to work!!
Someone please tell me there is something else for the iPhone that can be like that, while I already wasted .99 cents on the suppose BEST alarm clock app for the iPhone, I'm even willing to pay for a new alarm app that offers the same exact thing the android has to offer.

Unfortunately no alarm clock app will wake you up to a mp3 from your library when it's not open.
This is something Apple has not allowed. We tried to come up with a solution ourselves with our alarm app but as other developers realized it cant be done . We are still working on a solution though; not giving up!
Our app if interested is alarm app that wakes you up and speaks short weather reports to you http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sleep-fm/id388631053?mt=8#

  • Ipod alarm clocks and similar accessories useless with protector case?

I am frustrated.  My child bought an Ipod Touch 5th gen.  We spent the money buying a good protector case for it so it will actually last and then she received an alarm clock that will charge the Ipod when docked.  BUT, you have to take the Ipod out of the case to charge it.  So it makes the alarm clock accessory useless.  Plus, I found an adaptor so that it could be plugged in, it fits, but aparently it is not "certified" and won't charge (it seems to fit fine!! but is being blocked?).  I have looked at every docking aparatus out there and none work with a proper protector case and any good case does not come off quickly or easily to dock.  Nor would you want it to as its tough for the case to do its job if it is not on the ipod.
Anyone found any work arounds that I can't find?  Why doesn't Apple make a dock extender?  Why do they block after market extenders?
I don't know any adults let alone children that keep their ipods/iphones etc out of a protector case so why bother making accessories that can't be utilized?
For such a large company with such a market share, why hasn't this problem been solved?  (OK maybe it has been solved and I am just unaware.  If so I take back most of the negative things I am thinking.  Someone please tell me I'm wrong!)
If there isn't a solution out there, are there any other brands of tablets etc out there that are more durable and functional with accessories than the i-products?  We have more people in our household that will utilize a tablet of some sort in the near future.

  • Using my Mac as alarm clock

Hi- I notice in the Sys Prefs under Energy saver you can get the Mac to Startup (or Shutdown) at specific times.
The problem is you can only set Weekends, Weekdays, Every Day or ONE day in the week. I work Saturdays but not Mondays, so I need to set the Mac to wake at 6:00 on Tues-Sat inc, and not on Sun/Mon.
Can the Mac do this on it's own (Automator?), or will I need a bit of shareware?
    Thanks muchly!

There's nothing more reliable than a windup alarm clock that you set every night... What if there's a power outage?
Here's another one that looks pretty good (never used it myself) and it's donationware.
    http://www.robbiehanson.com/alarmclock/index.html
If you leave your Mac ON all the time (using only display sleep) like I do, you can create a repeating event in iCal that sounds an alarm. I think it can also run a script, which can be used to launch iTunes and play a specific playlist. But I don't think iCal will wake up your Mac if it is sleeping.

  • Samsung Juke Alarm Clock Not Working

I love my Samsung Juke and really do not want to replace it, but now my alarm clock is failing on me. I set it to go off two days ago. It never went off, yet the alarm was still set to "on". I even left the alarm on until today to see if it ever would. Nope. I also set two other alarms at different times. Same problem. My phone seemed to have this same issue around the new year of 2011 as well but a quick restart fixed it. It didn't work this time. Is there something I can do or am I doomed to use an actual alarm clock that wakes me up in a terrible mood?
Help! I love my little blue swivel brick!

Hi there taintedlove908! Regarding the alarm function on your Samsung Juke... When the time arrives for the alarm to alert you, does the device simply remain dormant and quiet or does it light up silently? What I'm trying to determine is if this is a feature failure within the phone or an audio issue. Thanks for your patience. I look forward to hearing from you!
