Alarm clock vibration

Does anyone know how to turn off the vibrate function on the alarm clock on the 5S without I must install other apps?  Note that I still want it to vibrate for the other notifications.
Thanks in advance,
Mat

  • Turning the vibrate off on the alarm clock

Does anyone know how to turn off the vibrate function on the alarm clock that comes standard on the 4S?  I have a nice tune playing to wake me up and it's ruined by the jarring noise the phone makes as it vibrates.  I still want it to vibrate for other notifications.
    Thanks,
    PW

Yeah, that is an unfortunate feature loss of the new iPhone. I think that it's just that Apple finally feels confident in the battery life on 3G that they don't feel that being able to turn it off is necessary for decent battery life (by their standards).

If your talking about turning off Cellular Data, that does not turn off 3G. Which is what mreda is wanting to know.

  • Alarm clock - how to make it sound only, no vibration

    Hi,
I hate being woken up by a vibrating iphone : is there a way to have a "sound only" mode for alarm clock?
    Thanks,

Far as I know, you have to flip the side switch so that it doesn't show the orange strip AND turn vibrate off in Preferences/Sounds. That's the only way I've managed to turn off vibrate for the alarm clock. Of course, it's a pain to have to do it all over again when you want to set your phone to silent and still know someone's calling or texting you...

  • Can I stop the vibrating alarm clock?

I've just started using iCal again after a number of years. In past versions, I used to be able to control-click on the vibrating alarm clock when I got a pop-up reminder and tell it to stop vibrating. Now I can't seem to click on it. I like to leave the window open as a reminder, but that vibrating clock takes up a lot of CPU. Is this no longer possible to stop? Thanks!

  • Vibrating alarm clock on iPhone 4 did not go off

I set the alarm clock on the iphone to wake me in the morning.  I had it set to vibrate.  I happened to wake up a few minutes before the set time but the phone did not vibrate at the time it was set for.  There was just a notice saying the alarm happened.   But if I test the alarm and set it for a couple of minutes from now it will then work fine.  The sound plays and it vibrates.  I actually would prefer it didn't make any sound but then it doesn't vibrate either.  Weird.   Does the alarm clock get turned off when the phone sleeps?  Is it possible for it just to vibrate without sound?

open your clock app, tap edit, select the alarm you want to apply the sound or song to then tap sound. Any songs available in the preinstalled music application can be used along with any ringtones currently on your phone.

  • Alarm clock ringing without vibrate?

noticed there is a lot of noise on the web, that ios does not allow to turn off vibrate for alarm clock while maintaining it for calls/notifications.
i am really suffering from this as well, annoying
anyone knows if any update coming for that?

Here is just one of the many articles explaining how to make your own ringtones.

If that one doesn't help, just google it.

  • How do u shut off this vibrate on the alarm clock apps

EVer since I updated my iPad to this ios6 it has been doing odd things. But I rely on my alarm clock to get me up and it is not going off its saying to shut the vibrate off. How the he!! Do I do this?

It would be too user-friendly to put it in the settings of the alarm clock. The only way to control vibration is in settings general and turn it off globally.

  • Iphone alarm clock makes no sound

The day after daylight savings my iphone alarm clock stopped making any noise. Its very stressful and im sure its not on silent, do not disturb. The ringer and volume are all turned up it just doesnt even vibrate. Its not that it doesnt say there is an alarm, the screen will turn on and say an alarm is present but it just wont make any noise or vibration ): . This happened right after daylight savings and ive had enough is anyone else having this issue. I really dont want to restore it just is so much work. I mean i will if i have to but has anyone come up with an easy solution?

Have you tried resetting your device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Slide to Unlock screen redisplays, go into your Alarm, edit it, and see if the sound is playing correctly when you select the alarm sound.
You can also try editing it to a different alarm sound to see if that is working.
    Cheers,

  • Alarm clock silent

I lost all sound/vibration on my alltel BB when verizon took over.  No alerts at all.  All sound died; ringtones, music,,,all of it.  Tried three other alltel BB;s...same problem.  They finally gave me a verizon phone, NO PROBLEMS.
Just plain weird. There's nothing in a corporate takeover like that which would also deny you use of your ringtones/music etc., on the speaker.
I bet that was just a coincidence.

  • Is there an alarm clock app that ignores other notifications while you're sleeping?

my bb had an alarm clock application that was awesome - it "held off" all notifications that i would get during the night until i turned off my alarm clock in the morning. so, all the email notices, late night text messaging, facebook "pops" all were silenced and I could get a solid night's sleep keeping my phone on for the alarm app. does the iphone have such an app?

    its already that way...
just put it on silent, the alarm still sounds.
my vibrate is off when in mute so it doesn't vibrate either-
but the alarm works when the phone is on silent. just make sure the ringer volume is up.

  • Alarm Clock Inquery

I have the iphone 3g s and I have a basic question about my alarm clock. Prior to the iphone I had a blackberry and I became accustomed to customizing alarms and phone powering off and on. Well, I know for a fact that the iphone 3g powers on if there is an alarm set to expire. When an alarm is set on my phone and I have powered it off for the night, the alarm will not expire at all whatsoever. The phone will not turn on unless I power it on manually. I also hate the fact that the phone's sound settings have to be turned all the way up for the alarm to be audible. Is this a problem of mine, or is this just the way it goes for the 3g s? I would appreciate anyone's comments.

Of course it's a bug. Pretty much anyone wants their system sounds off when sleeping, however, for the alarm to sound if set. It's how alarms work with Android and Windows Mobile. They got it right by having alarms sound even if the vibrate switch is active, however, they got it wrong by having the alarm volume tied in with the ringer volume. It's nice for you that you're fine with it, however, it's not as it should be Thanks for stopping by though...
Please show me the market research that shows that "anyone" has an opinion for this matter. My suggestion would be that if this is important to you, eBay your iPhone, and buy an Android. This is ridiculous. I've been watching this board for 2 years. You're the first, so please, enjoy your day with a missing feature that nobody cares about.

  • Alarm Clock (NOT Jan. 1 issue)

I've had an issue with my iPhone alarm clock for a while now. If your alarm starts going off and then you get another notification then the alarm stops going off. I feel this is something that definitely should not be happening. I wanted to e-mail Apple directly about this, but couldn't manage to find the e-mail address. I'm assuming it's probably just [email protected], but I wanted to find the site link for it so that it would actually go directly to the right department.
Anyways, anyone else ever have this issue? I would love to see a fix for this come out considering it's been an issue as long as notifications have been around.

I have a feeling it's not a huge problem because of the fact that it has not yet been addressed. I will check the places you suggested as well as call Apple, but I have a feeling neither will have a solution.
I figured out how to replicate the issue. I have a game that will send people on missions and when they get back it gives a notification. I sent someone on a mission that took two minutes and then set an alarm to go off after 1 minute. The alarm starts going off, but then when the notification for the mission complete comes up the alarm stops sounding and vibrating. This is a huge problem in my eyes, and should definitely be taken care of.
If anyone else could try replicating this and let me know their results I'd be very grateful.
    Thanks,
    Andy G
