Alarm duration

I am an **bleep** and left town for the weekend leaving my Blackberry curve plugged in, and now I am very worried my clock alarm was set to go off every morning rather than just weekdays.
How long will the clock alarm sound before stopping? I can't find a duration online. If it's in the 5-20 minute range I will owe some serious apologies... if it's going to go off all day and night I'll likely have to cut my holiday short to go turn it off.
Anyone know where there's documentation on clock alarm duration?

Don't know if it is documented officially one way or the other. Quick search didn't turn up anything for me either.
I haven't left it for hours, but I have had occasion to leave the alarm going for 5-10 minutes. My sense is it will continue until snoozed or dismissed.

I cannot edit a calendar event

For some reason I am no longer able to edit an event on my home calendar. I can create a new home event and it automatically names it new event with a default time of 11:00 a.m. I have always been able to create an event and edit it with the details of time alarm duration etc.
Can someone shed some light on this for me. Thanks

1. First make an iCal backup, File > Export > Archive.
2. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
---NOTE: Removing these files may remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
Once the computer is back up and running open iCal and test.
If the issue persists Safe Boot and then restart as normal and test: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455

Need help on setting up my alarm

How can I extend the duration the alarm plays on a blackberry curve? I have a 25 minute song I want played every morning and have it come on as my alarm. How do I change the duration of the alarm in order to hear the whole song? As default setting the song selection which comes on as my alarm plays for 15 minutes and cuts off.   I don't want to restart the song all over again using the media player. I can I extend the 15 minutese to a full 25 minutes on the alarm application?

That probably is not possible, as I recall all alerts and notifications will sound or flash for 15 minutes only.

Make an alarm from the system time.

I have tried a variety of formats to get an alarm at 8:00PM.
For instance, \..\$System.time=20:00:00.0 does not work.
Maybe I need to use the raw value, i.e. 8/13/04 10:40 is 38212.44444477.
Each minute changes by ~ ..00069455 -- yikes.
It seems like it should be a standard thing.
I need redundancy to shut off the superconducting magnet when the liquid helium is low in the evening.

Check TimeOfDay object out. This object generates a logical signal at a given time of the day (Timer offset) and adjustable duration (Timer Duration).
Use it as the condition of the alarm.

E63 Has lost it's alarm tones

For the life of me I cannot understand why (but have a toddler @ 28 months though)...
My alarm tone has reset to Chat alert.aac (from click.aac) and the option only offers:
Download sounds
Default tone
Off
I have tried 3 times to Restore form computer (Win7/PC Suite) and each time it nears the end then has a serious error and cannot complete! any ideas?

I think I have hit on the solution (rather a workaround). The problem is likely to occur if you have too many mp3s on your memory card. I had almost 12GB of mp3s on my memory card. When I choose to change the rigtone I used to get only 2 options ... Download or OFF.
Solution: Remove the memory card and try again. It should work ... worked for me.
Looks like the system has a pre-defined time duration to populate the list failing which nothing is listed. Given the number of mp3s I had the list was too big and the timeout probably kicked in. Bug in the software. Pity it manifests in the wierd way ... It could have at least shown the default tones and failed to update the list from the card.

E71 (S60) Calendar reminder alarm too long (1 minu...

Using an E71, but suspect this is an S60 issue:
Why does the Calendar reminder alarm last for an entire minute repeat the tone continuously until 60 seconds have elapsed? While other alarms like sms, email only invoke the tone once?
As an ex-Palm Treo user, I was used to being able to set the number of times I can repeat the tone (e.g. 1, 2 ,3 times).
How do I configure the phone such that the calendar reminder only triggers the (e.g. beep) tone, 2 or 3 times? I couldn't find any config on that. Is there any work-around or 3rd party software that can do this?

I also have this. My outlook calendar is the key and I like to have reminders. The fact that the alarm goes of during 1 minute sound is terribly annoying, I'd just like to have a reminder with a SMS-like sound, something I can customize at least (sound + duration + number of times it repeats...).
Anyone has info about this? I am using a E71 too.

X3 02 - Alarm Help!

This alarm is terrible! With my old phone to snooze I just had to press a button and it would start snoozing. In this phone I press the unlock button and it seems to snooze but it has just gone quiet! At 530 in the morning I am having a LITTLE trouble pressing the tiny unlock button then touching the screen to unlock it THEN having to press the correct side so that it will snooze and not turn off!
There is a reason the snooze button is so big on an alarm clock!
Is there any way to change how the snooze functions?
I think I may be unlocking the phone and hitting the touch screen or something - is there someway to turn the touchscreen off at night or something?

it will blinking with unlock button on the screen
- when U touch the unlock button it will be silent (2 more buttons will appear "stop" and "snooze") and if U leave it, it will snooze for 1 minute then the the screen will be blinking again after 1 minute with "stop" and "snooze" buttons on the screen... When touch again snooze for 10 minutes by default

For the time being the only snooze function that can be change is the duration and that's it...

Prime alarm email alert question

Does anyone know how to change the email suppression duration after an alarm is tripped from 30 minutes to something longer? If an alarm is tripped
in the middle of the night no one is available to respond and acknowledge the alarm until the morning, so it is possible to have a flood of emails
overnight. I would like to change the email suppression duration from 30 minutes to 4 hours, but I do not see where to do this. Either a gui or a cli
setting change would be fine, I just don't know where it is. Cisco support is telling me this is not a user configurable item. That doesn't sound
right to me. Has anyone found where to change this? The version of Prime is 2.0.0.0.294.

Having difficulty finding your phone's alarm and enabling email notifications? I am glad to help. I use these features daily, as well.
The alarm on your DROID Incredible 2 is a feature within the "Clock" application. I'm including a link to the device manual that lists the instructions for setting an alarm. They are found starting on page 179.
As far as your email notifications, this would depend on how your email accounts are setup. If you are using the Google/Gmail email account you can enable & change the email notifications by going into the Gmail account settings. These instructions are found on page 148 of the device manual. Now if you are using another POP3/IMAP or Exchange email account, the notification settings are within the "Mail" application. The instructions for enabling & changing these notification settings are found on page 160 of the device manual.

from 3 days the alarm of my 7230 is not working and the call log is not updated from two months.
What can I do?

For the alarm I guess only 1 alarm can be set a time but instead U can use the calender and make a reminder
Then, the reminder U can set an alarm for each one of them...
More reminders more alarms...
About the call duration I'm wondering as well...

In iCal 3.0.2 I want to see at a glance if an event has an alarm set. On my Treo there is an alarm icon. Is there anything similar for iCal?

Ical multiple family members need alarms sent to each phone

I have ical with seven different calendars (family members. all color coded) is there a way to attach different emails to each calendar? so I can set up the alarm function to text via email
ie. ([email protected]) them. I have it set up in my address book under my "own card" It would be so much easier if I could attach their "text email" address to their separate calendars.
Is there a way to do this?

Turning your Mac into a clock radio.
1. In iTunes create a playlist that contains just the radio station you want to wake up to.
2. Export the playlist (as .m3u works well). Get Info on your playlist file and look at the Open With entry to make sure it points to iTunes, VLC or some other app that will stream your station.
3. In iCal create an event entry at the time you want to wake up.
4. Right (or Control) click on your wakeup event and select Get Info.
5. For "alarm" select Open File.
6. Now under Open File there will be a place to add the file to open. It will probably be some default entry (like iCal). Click on it will allow you to select "other." Then use the file dialog to select your playlist file.
Your Mac will wake you up at the appointed time. You don't need to keep iCal running. If you want to put you Mac to sleep for the night then there is one more thing you need to do. Open System Preferences to Energy Saver and click on the Schedule button. Check Start up or wake and set the wake up time to slightly before your iCal alarm time.

Is there a way of getting a list of upcoming alerts/alarms and their times?

I'd like to get a list of alert times, so that I can see if I have any that will be going off in the middle of the night!
Many months back, I purged those pesky midnight alerts by scrolling through week by week and looking for the all-day events and checking each one. It was a chore.
Now, due an odd synching issue between iCal and an app, I'm a tad concerned that some late night alerts may have been set, or PMs may have changed to AMs, or other oddities introduced. I'd like to scan a list of alerts for the next several months to ensure that none are set to go off during the sleeping hours!
Just browsing events (say week by week) doesn't help me because they could have alerts set for all sorts of different times (or no alerts at all). If there isn't a way of listing the alerts, then I'll have to go through each individual event/to do to check its alert and time-- and there are hundreds!

Why would I get an important message that says, "I can see you" It was a loud alarm with a message box.

My Iphone 4s had a loud alarm with a text box that said I can see you! I was trying to copy and paste in my contacts at the time it occured. It kinda freaked me out.

This was an iCloud message. I received an email that was from find myiphone. It stated your message was sent to the phone. The funny thing is that I don't remember messing around with the find my iPhone feature. I may try to explore the find my iPhone feature some more. Thanks for the responses everyone. The message had a loud continuous alarm even though my phone was set to vibrate.
