ALARM setting

I can't get the alarm to go off in the mornings. I've gone to extras - alarm (all that). I've set the time & picked a playlist. It won't go off. It's hooked up to my JBL system recently purchased. Plays well on that when I don't need the alarm. What am I doing wrong?
When I look @ the screen w/the time for the alarm icon, I only see half an icon. Don't see a full icon w/vibrating signals surrounding it.

Hi Kyle,
I've had similar problems. I thought I'd had them corrected, but I'm still struggling. Lately it seems that the alarm only ever goes off on Saturdays (the ONE day that I wish it wouldn't!). I'm starting to think I'm crazy, since I should be able to figure this out. I don't know what to tell you other than I'm going to keep track of my iPod usage and behavior and if I come across any solutions, I plan to post them here ASAP.
Anybody else have any suggestions?
Michael

  • Alarm clock not working in iOS 7 with multiple alarms set.

I usually have two alarms set on my phone, both using the stock clock app.  One about an hour before I need to get up (so I can turn the heater on and crawl back under the covers), the other for the time I am supposed to get up.  The second alarm works just fine, but the fist one has not gone off for several days.  They are not recurring alarms because I need to change the time each day due to my work schedule.
The phone is *usually* in a speaker dock which is plugged into the wall, and works just fine for the purpose of playing my second alarm or any of my music.  When not in the dock, it is still plugged in to the charger but uses the built in speakers.
Has anyone else had this problem, or does anyone know of a possible fix?

Use IHome Sleep. It is great!! You don't need an IHome either!!

I have several recuring alarms set up on iCal for each day of the week. In the past few weeks, an alarm will occasionaly notify me roughly 15 minutes to an hour and a half late. These daily alarms are identical and repeat every day and there seems to be no apparent pattern to why or when an alarm happens after the event is past.

I assume you meant iCal rather than iTunes? Yes, iCal the time zone is correct. The delayed alarms only happen sporadically. Since I posted this message, the problem stopped happening every day at the same time, but it still happens occasionally with no rhyme or reason as to when. It's gotten so that I can't depend on my iCal alarms anymore.

  • Editing the alarm setting

When I place the cursor into the numeric field that specifies the number of hours/minutes/days before firing an alarm, I find that I can't entirely delete any number that's already there. It's as if the field won't -- even momentarily -- allow itself to be entirely empty! I either have to fumble my way to "select all" the previous data before typing in what I want, or append what I want and then go back and delete the unwanted digit. It's curiously irritating. I'd think that, if the goal is to prevent its being empty, it might at least wait until focus has left the field.
    Has anyone else noticed this?
    Thanks,
    Chap
PS - normally I'd search the forum before posting but as you know, search is off.

Noticed it? It drives me bonkers on a regular basis. And 10.5.5 did NOT fix this.
    Do the following:
    - create a new event, tab thru till you get to the "from" field. It automatically jumps to the AM/PM field rather than the date or at least the time first.
    - keep tabbing. Again, the tab jumps not to the time but to the AM/PM field in "to".
    - keep tabbing till you get to "alarm" and the number field for the alarm setting. Type "2," realise you made a mistake because you wanted to press "3" and press "delete" - doesn't work.
    - press tab again and enter the increments field (minutes, hours, day, etc.). Choose "minutes before" then shift-tab back to the number field. You can now overtype the 2 with a 3. However, if you realise now you wanted a different number, there is no way to change it, short of a shift-arrow combo to highlight the number. You can't delete it.
This is completely lame and feels like a cheapo crap app from the 80's.
    Apple, fix this!

  • Tasks sync error: "alarm set for later than entry ...

I upgraded the firmware on my E71 to the latest version. Since then syncing my tasks with Outlook 2007 has been a battle. The main problem is that once syncronised and older than 24 hours, I no longer can edit the tass on my mobile; only within Outlook. I get a "alarm set for later than entry starts" error on my E71. I have reformatted the phone, restored the data, deleted all calendar entries in the phone - resync with Outlook, but the problem persist. I also get duplicate entries at time or entries which do not sync in both directions. This messed up most of my tasks. PLEASE HELP.

  • No alarm set, but goes off at 7am on random days.

    Hi all.
After updating to ios6 the alarm on my 4s has started going off at 7am on random days.  It can be 3 or 4 days in a row, or nothing for a week, but it's always at 7am.
When it goes off there is nothing appearing in the lock or home screens to let me switch it off, and I have to switch the phone off completely.
I have alarms set for 7.20 and 7.30, which go off as normal.
There is nothing in my calendar for the days it goes off.
It's driving me and my wife insane!
    Any help greatly appreciated.

    I suspect it's supernatural.

  • My new iPod Classic doesn't 'wake' when my docking station switches on (alarm setting)

My new iPod Classic doesn't 'wake' when my docking station switches on (alarm setting).
My old iPod Classic never ever let me down, and I used it in the docking station every working day for two years.
But this new iPod Classic has let me down three times just this week!
    Any clues?

While the iPod is connected to your iTunes, look (in iTunes) on the Device/Podcasts pane (tab) and make sure the Sync Podcasts option has been selected (there should be a tick in the box).

  • Nokia E72: "alarm set for later than entry starts"...

    Hi,
    I have bought recently a E72 nokia.
It replaced my old E50 ...
I have used a lot the "To Do" calendar entry feature to plan some actions on my old E50 Nokia.
I was not well impressed by the E72 "To Do" because if I'd like to re-schedule the ToDo entry I cannot do it and I'm receivieng all the time the "alarm set for later than entry starts" error.
It is crazy because I cannot do anything but just close everything ... abd go to the default screen.
Is this a bug or it is a bad "feature" of the new Nokia E72 ?
    How can I re-schedule a "To Do" ?
Is there a different understanding from software point of view between E50 "To Do" and E72 "To Do "?
    Thank you for support.

  • Alarm setting not working since time change.

I use the alarm setting regularly but after the time change for daylight savings time it is an hour off. Does anyone know how to correct this?

Do a reset. Go to Settings>General>Reset. Reset all Settings. You won't lose any files, just some preferences.

  • Way to set default alarm setting?

Is there a way to set a default/preference for the alarm warnings, as in entourage? I currently have to set each event with an alarm if I want one.

  • Alarm set to go off every hour of the day, how do I do this?

I want to have a reminder/alarm every hour of the day once it hits the new hour mark, how do I do this? I went into clock and it lets me set an alarm but my only repeat option are the same time every day, not the same alarm every hour at the top of the hour.

I can but it would be easier to just add a reminder that lets you have an alarm every hour, maybe we'll get this in the new update today

  • Custom alarm setting in iCal

Hello, is there any way to set a custom alarm reminder setting when creating an event in ical on the iPhone? At the moment there is only a list of pre-set times and days for reminders. Ical on my Mac offers custom setting why not on the iPhone?
Also, once a calendar has been assigned for an event, i cannot find a way to change this, other than delete the event and start again. Any ideas?
    Thxs,

I have a similar question, before the latest upgrade to os OS 3.2.2 I used to be able to set a custom repeat in the Cal application. I have just gone to put an item into Cal that needs a custom setting but it's gone. Has anyone else noticed that the custom setting has gone in Cal. Any ideas where it's gone?

  • ICal alarm setting bug?

One thing that really annoys me is when I set a new event in iCal, say at 10am, the alarm is automatically set for 10am. Since I have the "Add a default alarm to all new events and invitations" set to 0 minutes before the start time in the prefs, this is normal.
However if I edit the event and change the time to 11am, the alarm time is not updated, it stays on 10am.
I couldn't find a discussion about this, so I wonder if I am the only one having this problem.

why don't you make one yourself? Also, probably better if you posted in the iCal part of the discussion boards.

  • DSC alarm set and cleared without operator ack - the variable should be not alarmed and not acked

We are deeply involved in porting our application from 7.1.1 to 8.6.1 under Windows XP.
Our application  heavily depends on DSC and moving from 7.1.1 to 8.6.1 is actually much more than a simple porting....
    here is our last problem:
it seems that there is no discrimination between 'active' alarms and 'acknowledged' alarms on a shared Variable  in case the 'ack Type' is set to 'USER'.
    Here is what happens:
    1) a Boolean shared variable is defined to be alarmed when 'high' (TRUE) and its ack type is set to 'USER' (the operator at our application must ack alarms).
    2) the Boolean var is set to TRUE -> it is declared alarmed (OK)  and not ack'ed (OK)
    3) the operator ack the variable -> it is declared alarmed (OK)  and ack'ed (OK)
    4) the Boolean var is set to FALSE -> it is declared not alarmed (OK)  and ack'ed (OK)
    5) the Boolean var is set to TRUE -> it is declared alarmed (OK)  and not ack'ed (OK)
    6) the Boolean var is set to FALSE -> it is declared alarmed (NOT OK!!!)  and not ack'ed (OK)
    7) the operator ack the variable -> it is declared not alarmed (OK)  and ack'ed (OK)
This last case is the wrong situation: an alarm has been set and cleared without operator ack the variable should be not  alarmed  and not acked
Actually the variable returns OK only when ack'ed.
see the attached project in which a small vi and a small shared variable lvlib allows to repeat the above steps.
    Note:
    A) same situation applies to 'double' shared variable
    B) under DSC version 7.1.1 everithing was OK
    can anyone Help?
    Thank You Guglielmo Rozera

    Thank for your replay!
I have tried to undeploy and deploy the library with ack type set to 'User' by default, and then run the vi but the behavior is always the same.
The modification you suggest does not set 'User' ack type because data socket needs '2'  as 'User ' setting while property node needs '1' or (better) its own enumerated type.
Anyway I've corrected the vi according to your suggestion and tried again but nothing changed...
Here I attach the project modified with property node and an indicator to show what is the actual ack type
I hope in your further investigations!
    Thank You
