Alarm sounds now working

My alarm sound is working without speakers pluged in - through the internal speaker.
Sorry if this has been noted already.

  • Daylight savings time and iPhone 4 alarm bug NOW FIXED???

OK this morning i turned on my alarm and put it 1h ahead (the alarm is on repeat for the rest of the week) so the alarm goes off at the right time cos of the alarm bug.
but this morning my alarm was set at 6:45am and went off at 6:45am rather then 7:45am (if the bug was still present)
i have not changed my alarm and they are all repeat alarms. last week i fixed this problem by making my repeat alarm 1h ahead then normal.
i am now confused if this issue has been fixed.
Has this happened to anyone els?

    Thanks wjosten.
I had been keeping an eye on this alarm bug but did not no thing changed on the 7th, guess i did not look hard enough.
would be nice is apple had a mailing list for these kinda things. so they can inform you of an error like this
well i am not in a rush for the 4.2 patch now sis the alarm is now working. they have now got like 5 odd months to fix this.
looks like apple is going on the same way as windows

  • Sound stops working, 3 seconds after plugging in headphones

I have a strange issue on my phone where the sound stops working after about 3 seconds (consistently), after plugging in headphones.
I have the latest software update and I don't have any special sound modifying apps. No software I've installed ruined this, it has worked fine before, until about two weeks ago. I've also dust-cleaned the headphone jack.
Without headphones, the sound works great.
Here's an example of what happens
    1. I start a video on YouTube / play a song / start a call with someone / start a game
    2. The sound works well, nothing is strange at all
    3. I plug in my headphones
    4. The sound now works in the headphones
    5. About 3 seconds later, the sound stops working completely, in all the cases above
    6. The sound never returns, until I unplug my headphones
I'm clueless as to what could be causing this. Does anyone have any idea?

I've tried that, but it doesn't work
It seems like a software/firmware issue, since the 3 seconds of working is 100% the same every time

  • I took my Pavilion dv6000 apart and now the sound isnt working

    So here is the situation...
My fan has been making noise so I wanted to clean out all the dust from inside my Pavilion dv6000. (But that isn't what i need help with right now.) So after I took it all apart and put it back together, I had this problem with turning the computer on. I think it had to do with this little ribbon cable that wasn't going in the spot where it had to be (it was connected to the power button chip.) I finally got that ribbon where it was suppose to be, and tried to turn it on. It still didnt start. The battery light would go on when it was plugged in, but nothing happened when I pushed the power button. I finally decided to give up and clean the finger prints off of it so I could bring it to my IT teacher tomorrow. While cleaning it, it all of a sudden turned on. I dont know what happened. It just turned on by itself. I mean, I could have pushed something while cleaning it, or maybe something was loose and tightened while i was cleaning it. But anyway, I finally got it to turn on. Now while doing homework, I notice the sound isnt working. I really dont want to take it apart if i dont have to becuase this is the last week of school and I need these practice tests that I put on my computer. I was wondering if there is anything I can do to possibly fix my audio without taking it apart. I was thinking if i check for the latest driver maybe that would help, but i have the latest driver and the sound still doesnt work. So does anyone know how I can fix this without taking it apart? If not does anyone know how I can fix it if i do take it apart? (for example, things to check to make sure they are connected or tightened?)
Thanks for your time and help, I really appreciate it.

Try double tapping the movie clip itself when inserted in the timeline and ensure that sound is on on the actual clip on the movie time line.

My iphone 5 has no sound out the speakers, all it will do is play out alarm tone, all sound were Working this morning, I have re set my phone many times, please help

    Hey Amiee_19,
Thanks for the question. It sounds like your Ring/Silent switch may be toggled:
    Ring/Silent switch - iPhone
    http://help.apple.com/iphone/7/#/iph3bd01398
    Ring/Silent switch
Flip the Ring/Silent switch to put iPhone in ring mode or silent mode .
In ring mode, iPhone plays all sounds. In silent mode, iPhone doesn’t ring or play alerts and other sound effects.
Important: Clock alarms, audio apps such as Music, and many games play sounds through the built-in speaker, even when iPhone is in silent mode. In some areas, the sound effects for Camera and Voice Memos are played, even if the Ring/Silent switch is set to silent.
For information about changing sound and vibration settings, see Sounds and silence.
Use Do Not Disturb. You can also silence calls, alerts, and notifications using Do Not Disturb. Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen to open Control Center, then tap the Do Not Disturb button . See Do Not Disturb.
If the above does not resolve your issue, see this article:
iPhone: No sound or distorted sound from speaker

    Thanks,
    Matt M.

The problem isn't solved after the restore, shall I bring my phone to the AppStore? Will they give me a new one? Or I should pay for that. Warranty is until December 2013;)

  • Yogurt spilled on my macbook air and now sounds stopped working. Pls help

    Hi!
So mac and yogurt were inside my bag and the yogurt's lid accidentally opened getting into my mac's charger, usb and headphones port. I tried turning it on and everything seemed fine, sounds and the heaphone port were both working but the usb port wasn't so i just wiped away the yogurt. After wiping everything I could see off, i tried connecting my mac to the power and it's working. Usb port not working tho and the sound stopped working, tried connecting a headset and still not working. Those seem to be the only problems. Right now my mac's open and standing to it's side near the heater to dry. What should I do? :(

Right now my mac's open and standing to it's side near the heater to dry.
Yes, everyone tries the "dry it out" method, doesnt work,... when it does 'work' it works for a while until corrosion sets in.   Make a service call.
Liquid spills, why your MacBook chassis is a one-way valve for spills
After a substantial spill many people will turn their notebook upside down and shake it, not only does this not work, but it spreads liquid havoc throughout your machine and makes things often as bad as possible.
The keyboard itself acts like a one way valve in the case of a substantial liquid spill. While liquid pours into the bottom chassis easy, it does not come out easily at all, and in the case of any spill, most of it will not come out by turning it upside down. Disconnect all power and contact Apple for diagnostics and repair.
Do not attempt to, after a spill, ‘dry out your MacBook’ and test it
After a spill most people invariably try to “dry out” their notebook by various methods, including hair dryers and otherwise. This both does not work, and after a substantial spill of any magnitude, even if the liquid was water, residue is left behind.
There are additionally many very tight places inside your notebook where liquids will linger for a very long time, and cause corrosion or worse.
Immediately unplug your notebook and contact Apple for in shop diagnostics and parts replacement.
In the case of very minor spills people will “dry out” their notebook and feel success that their notebook is working ok, however invariably in nearly all instances after 4-14 days an error / fault pops up and is usually followed by more.
In case of a spill, damage estimates are impossible,.....anything can be fixed, without question.......the question is cost.
contact Apple for in shop diagnostics and cost estimation ....possible parts replacement.

  • I have an iPhone 4S, and just now the sound quit working. It works with the headset and if I put it on speaker, but not anyway else. The music won't send sound out, the purine calls do the same. I reset to the original settings, nothing works.

I have an iPhone 4S, the sound quit working. I have sound in the headset and if I put the phone on speaker, I've reset to original settings, tried several options. Nothing works to resolve the options. Please help.

    Hi there Wacjude,
I would recommend taking a look at the article below for some speaker and receiver troubleshooting steps.

  • My iMac won't boot, get a black screen with alarm sound, then gray screen with start up sound, then repeats

this problem started last fall after upgrading to Mavericks. If I shut down my computer (or restart) I have problems getting it going again. This is getting progressively worse. I hadn't shut down in over a month, forgot about this issue and shut down (which I used to do daily), so now I can't get my computer to boot. When I hit the power button I hear it starting, then a loud alarm sounds, then a long pause then start up sound with a gray screen with a progress bar. Once the progress bar fills, the screen goes black again for a bit. This whole process will repeat until I get frustrated and force - shut down by holding the power button. I have tried reseting the pram, starting up in safe mode, starting up with the command - R, starting up with my original install disc... none of it works. I'm at a loss! I do have an external hard drive that I have been using for Time Machine, but it's not recent because the disc needs repairs and I hadn't gotten around to buying a new HD to back up to first. Has anyone else had this problem? I really can't afford a big repair/replacement bill.

A long, steady, load tone followed by a progress bar can indicate it is trying to install a Firmware Update.  Any other Tones would be multiple beeps and show an error code.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5860
You can also see a progress bar similar to booting into Safe Mode. However, the firmware update bar is thinner vertically than the Safe Mode bar.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1455
Either way, I would say something is wrong and it would be better evaluated at an Apple Store as Kappy points out.

  • Alarm didn't work. Lumia 820 WP8.1

    Hello.
I noticed one day that I was not able to change the ringtone volume with the +/- buttons. I didn't think much about it as this has happened sometimes, but only when I've been in a game or listening to music and then the buttons change the music volume.
But now I was not playing anything and still it just changed the volume of the music and not the ringtone.
Anyway, I went to sleep and woke up in the morning 2 hours late from work. The alarm was on the screen waiting for me to press snooze or skip but there was no sound whatsover.
The phone was on the whole time and the alarm was set properly.
I rebooted the phone and then it let me change the ringtone volume once again. And the alarm sounded when I tested it.
I think someone should look into this matter as this kind of stuff makes the alarm not reliable and I speculate that I would not have heard the ringtone if someone would have called me.

    OK!
It happened again. I noticed that every time I tried to change the ringer volume it just changed the app and audio volume. No biggie I thought as I checked the settings and ringer + notifications were still on their normal settings.
This morning I wake up an hour late. The same thing as described in my first post. Alarm was still "on" and "ringin" on the screen, but no sound what so ever.
I even took some photos this time to proof it so I won't get those "are you sure the phone was on?" "maybe the phone was on mute?"-responses trying to help.
But seriously. WHY ISN'T THIS BEING LOOKED INTO? THIS IS A SERIOUS FLAW AND A BUG ON THE SYSTEM and should be corrected ASAP.
EDIT: And these problems started after installing the 8.1. Didn't happen once with 8

  • MY iCal alarms do NOT work...

MY iCal alarms do NOT work since January 2009! Not during Leopard and not now in Snow Leopard. I have tried desperately to get my sounds back and checked ALL preferences for iCal. Anyone else have this problem and WHAT can I do about it? What is the "fix" for this stupid glitch???? 911...

+*MY iCal "Update" to those who might experience the same i-s-s-u-e of no alarms popping up and no sound either.+*
I did go to my Apple Sore and traipsed up to the Genius Bar with my 24" iMac... AFTER I made a reservation online of course. I do have that great little AppleCare Protection card.
The good news is that Brad, my genius, at the Apple Store Genius Bar fixed my problem! My iCal now pops up my alarms which I "hear" clearly and on time! *Problem fixed in 5 minutes. WOWZER!* He also told me the iCal problem wasn't my fault, there were some files he needed to delete in my library and cache folders and that the problem seemed to be just a glitch that shouldn't happen again. He didn't know why the files where there... they just were. Thank you, Geniuses at my Apple Store in the Millenia Mall, Orlando, Florida.
Problem in iCal solved. *So this is my story and I'm sticking to it. ;-)*
