Alarms for Third party devices on Cisco PI v 2.1

Is it possible to receive alarms for third party devices in Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.1? If so how do i configure PI to show the alarms?

Hi,
AFAIk, It is not possible to receive alarms for third party devices in Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.1.
we have very limited support of 3rd party devices in PI. third party devices only snmp polling, snmp traps and syslog will work

  • 2 factor authentication for third party devices

Can anyone recommend a 2factor authentication service that will query a OD user database and process authentication for third part devices ie firewall/vpn via RADIUS?

Yes it is and you have the following options:
OTP using external RADIUS server and RSA tokens
EAP-Chaining using the AnyConnect Agent and Cisco ISE
MAR (machine access restrictions).  If the machine had not performed authentication the user will not be authorized

  • Self made trigger for third party device?

Hi, everyone! I am new to labview programming.
Recently I have been trying to realize a function to trigger(or start) the third party device to do acquisition. I want to use the DAQmx to acquire one channel signal(which is continous pulse signal). And use this DAQmx acquired signal to trigger the third party device. I want each pulse signal to start the third party device to do acquisition.
Could someone give me some advice or suggestions? I would be grateful for any of your help. Thanks in advance.

    Hi, Lynn
Thank you very much. I am glad to get your reply. First I am sorry for my lack of knowledge of Labview. I will learn and be more careful of using the terminology.
I have "NI PCI-6052E" as the hardware device. And I use "BNC-2120" connector block to connect the trigger source. I useonly one channel of 6052E to acquire the signal. This trigger signal actually is periodic pulse signal of voltage ranging from 0 to 5V. The pulse voltage is 0V, all other are 5V.
I give my answers to your questions as followings.
What kind of signal does the third party device require for triggering? Is it a physical signal like a voltage or current?
The third party device actually doesn't have to use this pulse trigger to start, I just want to make a customized trigger to sync the third party device with the pulse signal. And each pulse make the device start working. This pulse trigger is a voltage signal that can be linked to 6052E by BNC connectors.
Is it a message transmitted via USB, Ethernet, or tin cans and a string?
I am sorry, I don't get this. I guess it transmitted by BNC.
What is the timing of the signal you are acquiring?
I used the sample clock in DAQmx timing function.
How much latency can you tolerate between the acquired signal and the trigger to the third party device?
I actually can control the interval time between each pulse. I require this interval time to be more than 1s and during this time the third party device can do acquisition itself. So the latency I think should be in the range of ms.
Do you need to do any signal processing or analysis on the acquired signal to generate the trigger?
The trigger signal is pulse signal. Actually I don't know much about signal processing, I don't know what kind signal is better for my application. If you have any better idea, please let me know.
    Thanks a lot.

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0 -- Third Party Devices

    Hello,
we are using cisco prime infrastructure 2.0. Is it possible to manage third party devices? (We have a lot of Enterasys Switches)
When i want to Archive the config of the device there is an error --> No Device Package found for the specific device.
It is necessary to install device packages for third party devices? Where can i find and install these packages?
    Thx in advance

it seems not to be on the road-map according to the functional /feature comparison between LMS and PI 2.0:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/prod/collateral/netmgtsw/ps6504/ps6528/ps12239/guide_c07-729089.html
...and I doubt it will come (quickly) because config management has a lot of pitfalls and Cisco has a lot to do to get around all of them with their own devices..
However, Inventory Management for third party devices is on the road-map
older version of the document (feature comparison PI 1.2 - LMS 4.2) can be found here:

  • Generate CSR for Third-Party Certificates

    Hi All,
i have an issue when i tried to Generate CSR for Third-Party Certificates,
i follow step by step in the document of cisco until this step:
    3.
Now that your CSR is ready, copy and paste the CSR information into any CA enrollment tool.
In order to copy and paste the information into the enrollment form, open the file in a text editor that
does not add extra characters. Cisco recommends that you use Microsoft Notepad or UNIX vi. Refer
to the website of the third−party CA for more information on how to submit the CSR through the
    enrollment tool.
After you submit the CSR to the third−party CA, the third−party CA digitally signs the certificate and
sends back the signed certificate via e−mail.
    4.
Copy the signed certificate information that you receive back from the CA into a file.
This example names the file CA.pem.
my issue is where i sould copy and paste the CSR information into any CA enrollment tool. i just have done create mykey.pem and myreq.pem in my folder OpenSSL\bin
    Please help and Thanks you.
    Regards,
    Jasa

you have to do more steps using openssl.
before you obtain the third−part certificate, you have to copy that on a notepad text, and you have to obtain an intermediate and root certificate from the company that gives you the certificate.
Then you have to copy and paste on a notepad or gedit:
SSL (the certificate that they give you)
Intermediate (the certificate that you obtain from the company that gives you the certificate)
Root (the certificate that you obtain from the company that gives you the certificate)
name the text file like: allcerts.pem
then... you have to run this commands:
    C:\OpenSSL\bin>openssl pkcs12 -export -in allcerts.pem -inkey mykey.pem -out All-certs.p12 -clcerts -passin pass:yourpassword -passout pass:yourpassowrd
    C:\OpenSSL\bin>openssl pkcs12 -in All-certs.p12 -out finalcert.pem -passin pass:yourpassword -passout pass:yourpassword
Then you are going to have a file named: finalcert.pem, thats the one you have to update to the WLC. please note that on those lines "yourpassword" is the password you use when you create the certificate and its going to be the same that you have to use for upload to WLC.
Note that you have to use openssl version 0.9.8 because its the only version thats WLC support
If you have doubts please contact me.
    Have fun!

  • PI 2.1, exclude third party device from config archive

    Hi,
Customer runs PI 2.1. He has also third party devices in the PI inventory.
Now, every time the configuration archive job is running, this third party devices are failing. Which is the normal behavior. Is it possible to set,for example a filter, to exclude this devices from the configuration archive job?
thank you very much for your help
    Hansruedi

    Hi Hansruedi,
we have to manually exclude them from Config collection::
Operate >Device Work Center > Configuration Archives  ,
Check the check box for "Name"  , this will select all the devices  then unselect the one you DON't want to get archived .
click on " scheduled Archive" and scheduled it as per your need (hourly , weekly ...etc..)
    Thanks-

  • Extending wireless LAN using third-party devices?

I know that with multiple Airport Extreme base stations, it’s a simple matter to extend the range of an 802.11n network by using the “Extend a wireless network” or “Participate in a WDS network” wireless modes. It seems like of the two, “Extend a wireless network” might be the easier of the two to configure. Does anyone have recommendations / preferences between the two modes?
Separately, although I can afford Airport Extreme stations personally, I have friends with the same desire to extend their existing wireless network but who can’t afford Airport Extreme stations. Is there a lower-cost way to do this with Netgear, D-Link, or other third-party devices? Does this mean all of the devices must support WDS to work, or are there other solutions? Do you have recommendations for specific models that work well for extending networks (preferrably also models that support WPA/WPA2, and not just WEP).
Any help would be appreciated. I won’t go into the details of the distances involved or intervening walls. Let’s just say a hop or two should stretch the distance.

    Bob Timmons wrote:
"Extend a wireless network runs at "n" wireless speeds with minimal bandwidth loss on the network
WDS runs at "g" wireless speeds, even if you are using newer "n" devices. The bandwidth on the entire wireless network is cut in half for each "remote" added to the network. So, with one "remote" in a WDS, you have a "g" wireless network running at 1/2 speed. If you have two "remotes" in a WDS, you have a "g" wireless network running at 1/4 speed.
Bob — thank you so much for the help.
Years ago in the days when Airport Extreme base stations supported 802.11b/g only, I remember setting up a WDS network between three Airport Extreme base stations. I seem to remember that the one in the middle was set up in a “relay” mode to bridge between the two remote base stations. In theory, using multiple relays, you could extend a network arbitrarily far as long as you could get power to all the devices and didn’t care about all sorts of bandwidth, latency, and signal strength hits.
Is it the case that with the 802.11n in current Airport Extreme stations you can't set up relays in a similar fashion using the "Extend a Network" wireless mode? I was looking at Apple’s “Designing Airport Networks Using Airport Utility” document, which doesn’t explicitly say, but seems to suggest that the central base station (operating in “Create a Wireless Network” mode) can be extended if the “allow this network to be extended” button is set, and then on a second base station you can use the “Extend a Wireless Network” mode to extend it. However, there’s nothing to suggest that you could extend off the second base station. Does anyone know if that’s possible?
I was looking at Netgear-brand wireless extenders this morning (http://www.netgear.com/home/products/wireless-range-extenders/wireless-range-ext enders/default.aspx) which sell for around $75 to $80 each online. They can extend any 802.11b/g/n network if the remote device supports the WPS (Wireless Protected System) standard, as most Netgear products appear to do (I believe Airport Extreme base stations don’t support WPS). They make it quite easy to connect Netgear wireless devices using “Push ’N’ Connect” buttons on the devices.
However, Netgear pre-sales specialist pointed out that the Netgear wireless extenders (the WN2000RPT is the current model) can similarly only extend out by one hop from the “center” and cannot operate as relay to get out further, as would be the case for WDS-based relays.
Is it the case that you need to find devices that support WDS (Wireless Distributed System) to allow for multiple relays to cover longer distances? I know that Airport Extreme base stations, both current models and the older b/g models, support WDS. Can anyone recommend third-party WDS-capable wireless modems or access points?
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Operate a third party device

    HI
I try to operate a third party Camera (C CAM) by LabVIEW. I try by call library function node. But I fail to get data by call library function node.
Is there have any other way to operate third party device except call library function / CIN?
    Thanks
    Kamal

    Kamal;
Other ways to access a third party device is via ActiveX, sending commands via the system exec VI, etc. However, my guess is that you need to try harder with the .dll
Make sure you check the following articles: An Overview of Accessing DLLs or Shared Libraries from LabVIEW and External Code for LabVIEW - CIN / DLL - Starting Point
The article "Can LabVIEW C? - Example 3: Using the Right Tools with LabVIEW" is an excellent starting point.
I don't know about that camera, but if it is a webcam, you can do a search on toolkits to access a webcam from LabVIEW.

  • Plant Determination for Third Party Material as Child Item in Sales Order

    Hi All,
We have an issue with the Plant Determination for Third Party Material as Child Item in a Sales Order.
Even when a Delivering Plant is maintained for the child item which is a Third Party Material, the plant of the Parent Item is only populated as the Default plant in the Sales Order
Can someone explain the reason behiind this determination.
P.S.- For all non -Third PartyChild Items (with non-Third Party Item Catefory & Material Type), the Plant is population correctly as per Delivering plant in Material Master.
    TIA.

  • PO document type for third party PO...?

    Hello friends,
My client's requirement is that third party PO should have different document type, say ZTRD?
I tried to configure the same with PR and PO doc types.  I created new PO type ZTRD. I maintained the combination of PR doc type NB with item cat S to PO doc type ZTRD with item cat S. I also deleted the standard config i.e. combination PR doc type NB with item cat S to PO doc type NB with item cat S.
I created third party SO which created third party PR (doc type NB). But when I tried to convert this PR into PO, still with above config, I am getting error - Doc. type/item cat. NB/S (requisition) <-> NB/S (purch. order) error.
Please help me to configure the Z doc type for third party PO.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Pat.

    Hi
Please try the following, do not delete the standard settings
    1) Create Z document type for PR and assign this document type to relevant Schedule line Category  ( CS for example) in SD
    2) Create Z document type for PO and keep only Item category S & Z document type for the Item category S created for PR.
    Hope it helps.
    Thanks/Karthik

  • PO Creation for third party sales

    Hi
We have the scenario Third party sales and High sea sales which is already in use (already configured) , where PR getting generated automatically .
But client requirement is they want the PO to generate automatically by the system the moment i save the sales order .
Where is the setting in the SAP , where system will generate the PO automatically instead of PR
    Please suggest

    Hi,
    Go to VOV7
Select third party item category which u r using in sales order >>> Deatils >>> under transaction flow >>> Tickmark to CREATE  PO AUTOMATIC.
If you activate this field, the system automatically generates both a purchase order requisition for third-party schedule lines as well as a purchase order in the background when you save the sales order.
However u can not create PO directly.

  • Logical Sys Name for Business system in SLD for Third Party

    Hi !!
I have little doubt what will be the logical system name for creating Business systems in SLD for third party?
    thanks
    Gowri

    Hi Gowri,
sorry, i dont agree with the other answers. The logical system name is required for ALE partner finding. If you dont want to communicate with IDocs you dont need it. If you want to send messages from third party system to R/3 via IDoc adapter, then you should (can) give a name. It can be configured in IB directory as well (adapter specific identifiers). Choose any name, this name will be used for the partner agreement in R/3.
