Alarms resetting randomly

Hi, I've had several issues with my Palm Pre, but with my current handset, I have had the alarms randomly reset every other day or so, sometimes everyday. The alarm goes off in the morning, then when I go to bed I have to check, because half the time the alarm is reset to off and either midnight or 11pm.  This is very frustrating, especially after the other issues I've had.
*to clarify, this is a replacement phone, the previous ones had other issues.
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

Ah, have been having this same exact issue, except I think mine resets to AM instead of PM. Didn't see this thread when I posted mine. This has been happening on my first gen Pre, not a replacement. Don't have a solution, but seems to be a recent issue nonetheless.

  • 30g ipod resets randomly while watching video.

I just bought a 30g ipod yesterday and I'm finding that while I'm watching a video it resets randomly!?!?! Any help would be great......thanks

I haven't been using the 64-bit version since (at least back when I got my computer) Windows defaulted to the 32-bit version, and Flash itself warned against using the 64-bit version.  I did upgrade my video driver, and it has only crashed once since then.
I tried that first, but since it crashed that once, I've now disabled the hardware acceleration setting, and I'll see if that helps.
My video adapter is an ATI Radeon HD 3600 Series with a version number of 8.911.0.0 dated 10/25/2011.  I didn't record it before I updated, but if I recall correctly, it was dated from sometime in 2009.
    Thanks for the advice!

  • [ LaserJet 300 colorMFP M375nw] Eprint printer e-mail resets randomly

    Hello!
We have 2 printers that use the eprint services. Both are strictly wireless with static IPs.  One has been set up and works fine with no interruption of reset e-mails for almost a year.
The newer printer (LaserJet 300 colorMFP M375nw) resets randomly, sometimes daily. We have to keep recreating new email addresses for the printer to use our auto-print services, which is quite an inconvenience as we cannot use the same email. Since this issue occured a few months ago (printer was purchased sometime in Feb/March 2012) everyday I come in, log into the printer via IP to check on the e-print/web services, especially if we have received sales and nothing has printed automatically. More often than not the ePrint/web services were disabled, the printer removed from our ePrint account, which means turning it back on, adding it back to our ePrint account, and creating an e-mail all over again. Other times the ePrint services are still on, but the e-mail was reset to the random characters email and we again have to apply it or recreate another e-mail to use for our autoprint.
We have had 2 techs out and firmware updated. One for an unrelated issue where our printer mainboard was replaced and the second for this issue where they replaced the mainboard again (?! /sigh ).
I'm looking for any other ideas of what may be causing this. The tech is escalating our issue so hopefully they come up with a resolution. We love our auto-print... when it works. heh

    bfap13,
It appears as if Web Services is being reset on the printer at random intervals. I would defiantly recommend you contacting HP LaserJet phone support if you have not already. It sounds like you may have, since you mentioned that the issue was being escalated. This kind of issue is usually caused by something with the printer that is causing it to reset itself. Since it is a hardware issue, there is not much that I can do for you, but hopefully they can get everything taken care of for you!

    What can I do?

  • EA6500 resets randomly

I have been having an issue with my EA6500 resetting randomly.  Sometimes it occurs when I have more than a few devices connected at once and sometimes it is when I have nothing connected wirelessly and just my wired desktop.  Once it resets the speed of the wireless will be very poor until I manually reset the device again.  What could be causing this?  It has done this on every firmware version since I bought it.  Thanks for any help in advance.

I have the same issue here.
Tried everything, and the resets continues...
In the amazon website(where i bougth mine) there's more than 48 one stars reviews(5 stars have 61), the great part is complaining about random and frequents resets/disconects.
Its time to cisco take an atitude about this, this router have a huge problem that need to be solved.

  • My iPod resets randomly, among other things......

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Here are the facts:
    1. I have a 60g 5G iPod. (It's black)
    2. I am running windows XP.
    3. The first time I tried to update the iPod, it added about 20 songs and resetted itself.
    4. It now does everything from not turing on, showing me the folder and !, showing me the multi-langauge must restore screen, stay on the "do not disconect screen" etc. Sometimes it will boot up just fine but when I try to update it, it will rest itself
    5. I have managed to restore it several times, and re-installed itunes to start from scratch, only to have it all happen again.
    6. During some restore attempts it gives me the write error message
    7. I have also seen a write error message in iTunes.
    8. I have tried only putting a few songs on it. This was successful however when I disconnect and play a song it will play for a few seconds and freeze and begin to exhibit the behaviours described in point 4.
    9. I have NEVER seen the sad face icon.
    10. Windows recognizes it when I plug it in (assuming it boots up and doesn't stay on the black screen with white apple) although it will sometimes disconnect itself and reset.
    11. I'm pretty sure I've seen a corrupt file error in iTunes (that was only once and very early on in my troubles. I think I've seen just about every error there is and it's hard to keep them all straight.)
    12. There also seems to be something wrong with the battery. One minute it's full, next it reads close to empty.
    14. I have a USB 2.0 card. This seems to be working just fine. The connection is good, wiggling it has no effect.
    15. I am at the end of my rope.
I think that's everything. The main point it's functionality is random. I can always eventually get it to restore and work but it will inevitably either fail during updating a large number of songs, or fail when playing songs after loading a small number. I know people have similar issues and I've read all the relevant threads and posts. Nothing has worked. I am convinced the problem is with my PC. It's old and been overhauled numerous times but it meets the minimum requirements. I read somehwere about "running chkdsk in windows XP restore mode". I don't know what this is. I would like to try that if someone could explain to me how. I would really like to avoid formatting and reinstalling windows XP. I've read about formatting the iPod through windows but I don't think I have to do this since I am able to restore it with the Updater. I actually tried that once but it said it was in use or something. Updater also likes to tell me that iPod is in use by another application.
If you are still reading at this point, you have my thanks already. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
      Windows XP

    Hmmmm....
Perhaps I should simplify my question...
My computer make iPod not work good.
    Suggestions?
Also, how should I use chkdsk? what parameter(s)? use it in safe mode?

  • Multiple Alarms on Random Events

I have discovered many, seemingly random, calendar events with multiple duplicate alarms. I am convinced that this is causing sluggish and other quirky behaviors in iCal. It is taking forever to delete them individually. Is there any way to delete all alarms for selected, or all, calendars in one action? Perhaps a terminal command or file that can be deleted?
I also want to make sure that the duplicate alarms are not put back into the calendars when I sync with .mac.

    Hi Fred,
This applescript should delete every event alarm in the calendars you select when you run it:
    tell application "iCal"
set myCals to (choose from list (title of (every calendar) as list) with prompt "Choose calendar(s) to delete alarms" with title "John Maisey - Delete Alarms" with multiple selections allowed)
    set myTimer to current date
    repeat with myCal in myCals
repeat with myEvent in every event in calendar myCal
delete every display alarm of myEvent
delete every mail alarm of myEvent
delete every open file alarm of myEvent
delete every sound alarm of myEvent
    end repeat
    end repeat
display dialog "Deletion done in " & ((current date) - myTimer) & " seconds" buttons {"OK"} default button 1 with title "John Maisey - Delete Alarms" with icon 1
    end tell
Depending on the number of events & alarms it's possible it may take some time to run.
    Best wishes
    John M

  • Suggestion:  Reset Random Seed?

I likely am in the wrong forum for feature suggestion, but I think it would be excellent to have an advanced option to reset the random seen in iTunes. The only time I close iTunes is to put my songs in a different random order when I immediately reload it.
Note: When I select a song and listen to it, and listen to the following songs, I will heard the same songs following it every time I select that same song and listen to it until I reload iTunes. This is what I would like to be able to avoid.

Yeah. I just exported a set of over 7000 images to import them in premiere as sequence. The grain stays in the exact same pattern throughout the 2 minutes of video so that it looks not like (dynamic) film grain but like a static curtain.

  • Reseting boolean value on alarm reset in LabVIEW 2009

Hi all, bit of a newbie here.
My goal is to read a set of virtual sensors, when one is "tripped" it starts an alarm timer sequence and if the "reset" is hit in time the alarm doesn't go off. I think I have it up to that point, where I am a little confused is how to reset the alarm boolean to false, if the alarm does go off. I'm thinking it needs to be outside the loop, but I don't know how. Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

    Hi,
Your block diagram is pretty well organized - so good job on that.
There is no delay in your main loop. This causes a big CPU load when no sensor is "tripped".
The way you implemented the timer function works but is not very flexible when you make program changes. Timers are very easy to create using "action engines". You can use the Express Timer vi, but I find that the side effects often take more time to deal with than just making your own.
Your "alarm loop" has controls and indicators inside it and it holds up execution of the main loop. This can give you problems like how to reset the alarm and it causes the Stop button to not work when an alarm is in process.
Check out the attached example. Use probes and Highlight Execution to "see" how the code works.

  • Alarm reset not working

My alarm reminders pop up fine, but the three buttons on the right do not work most of the time, i.e. close, reset timer and the examine doc in iCal buttons.
On occasion they will pop up or work straight away, but most of the time they are just inactive. Really frustrating when you are just looking to reset the alarm for another 15 mins!
The normal top left Red 'close window' button does work though.
    Any thoughts?

Hold down the Command key when you click them and they will work every time. Cheers!

  • WRT54G v8 resetting randomly

First and foremost: I'm mediocre at best when network issues are involved.
Apologies if this has been posted before; however, I didn't see anything similar to my issue while searching through the boards (yes, used the search function, there's no way I'd sift through 1400+ pages!).
Alrighty, here goes: lately, my router has been resetting itself every 2-4 minutes (at random intervals for random amounts of time) throughout the day. The constant resets have been occurring for a little over 4 months now,  pretty much since I acquired the router and updated the firmware. The reset is equivalent to a "soft" reset. My setup is a cable connection to a cable modem to the Linksys (WRT54G) router.  I must stipulate that this is not a wireless issue.
    Thanks.

At times when your router stop's working.Did you tried to connect the modem directly to the computer and check if you are able to go online. Also, when you are not online through the router check the ip address on computer. If you have an ip address then follow the below mentioned settings.
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
    Click on Advanced Wireless Settings
Change the Beacon Interval to 75,Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304,Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 and Click on Save Settings...
Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect...

  • ITunes resets randomly and loses all my media

I've recently updated to the latest version of iTunes and it seems every time I close the program and later reopen it, it resets and loses all of my media (music, tv shows, playlists, etc.). I am greeted by the welcome to iTunes message and am asked to scan for media. Needless to say, doing this is rather annoying as it takes about 10 minutes to add the 100 GB of music and process the album artwork and genious data. iTunes is however unable to recover any playlist data, which, I assume, is now gone forever. I have already tried unistalling and reinstalling iTunes. Are there any fixes for this problem out there, or am I the only one experiencing this problem?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
What you describe is absolutely not normal. Sometimes a BB will randomly reboot itself, but it is very unusual for that to cause any data wipe whatsoever. Something is definitely wrong there.
There are things you can try on your own (e.g., a clean OS reload, or a "bare bones" OS reload and then a slow reload of additional things, etc.), but if you don't want to deal with it (and, being new, if I were you I'd not want to deal with it!), then you definitely should take it in for warranty evaluation.
    Good luck!

  • Phone resets randomly

I have an 8330, and I had to replace it yesterday because it was randomly resetting and then freezing when it came back up. So now it's doing the same thing with my new phone. Can anybody help me with this before I throw my beloved phone through a window from a moving car???

I started having the same issue over the weekend.  It only seems to happen when I am using the internet or on the phone, not when it is sitting idle.  I do not understand it.
When it reboots, it will stop the process when it starts sending data.  Sometimes it gets all the way to the finish line, then just dies.  It also is doing this on a full battery and then showing an empty battery on the successfull reboot.

  • Ipod is resetting randomly

i have a 120GB ipod classic that will reset itself while playing songs. it stops playing the music and reverts to the screen with the apple logo showing. no songs are lost, battery life is not affected at all, and nothing seems to change. but i can't get through a 20 song playlist without it resetting. any ideas?

Random resets may be a function of the size & complexity of smart playlists. When I first got my 160Gb Classic it was large enough to hold my entire library including all its playlists. At some point I noticed that my iPod would crash when I played games or used certain functions. I also had problems restoring the iPod as it would often fail when I tried to put back all the data in one hit. To solve the second problem I hit upon this method for restoring the data.
    <hr>
    *Break up large transfers*
In iTunes select the menu item *File... New Smart Playlist*. Change the first drop-down box to Playlist, the next to is and the next to Music or whatever playlist holds the bulk of the content you want on your device. Tick against *Limit to*, type in say 10, then change the drop-down to GB, and set the last drop-down to artist. When you click OK you can enter a name for the playlist, e.g. Transfer. Now sync this playlist to your iPod rather than your entire library. When the sync is complete modify the rule ( *File... Edit playlist* ) to increase the size by your chosen amount, then sync and repeat. You can experiment with different size increments, if it doesn't work just choose something a bit smaller until it works each time. Before long you should have all your music on your iPod. Once that's done you can move on to other media such as podcasts, videos, photos, playlists etc.
    <hr>
At some pointed I noticed that my newly restored iPod containing only my media selections, but none of my many live updating smart playlists like *Top Rated*, *Recently Played* etc. was nice and stable. It only returned to the problem behaviour after I'd put these back on. I never tracked down anything specific such as "it happens when A depends on B which depends on C" but rationing the playlists that I put on the device seemed to help. My guess is that the iPod has a limited amount of RAM to store temporary data such as the cached portions of the currently playing file, recently displayed artwork images and playlists. Under certain circumstances the RAM fills up and triggers a crash. Keeping fewer, simpler playlists on the device seems to help...

  • A Playlist based on last played date gets reset randomly

The playlist I use most of the time is one that shows music that hasn't been played in the past 120 days.  Lately, at random intervals, the playlist gets reset as if iTunes has forgotten what I played the past day or so.  So some songs are having their last played date set back to an earlier time (or maybe a random earlier time, I can't be sure).  It looks to me like it's not just what has been played the past day or so that is being affected, but songs that have been played earlier, but not all of them.
I've tried restoring the iTunes Library.itl and iTunes Music Library.xml files from a backup of the previous evening, and when I open iTunes things look OK, but within a minute after starting up the playlist will get reset again. Any thoughts on why this might be happening and how I can hopefully fix things so it won't happen?  Thanks very much for any ideas anybody can offer.

    Hi,
Thanks for you replay and documentation, but it doesn't give me excatly the functionality I'm after. The only MTD calculation code the document provides is the calculation of the following functionality:
"Month to Date (MTD) u2013 From the 1st of month to u201CKey Dateu201D - for current year." This doesn't give the the functionality I want, which is to retrieve a given vaule for a Key Figure for the last dates of the months in a year to calculate MTD and YTD.
This way I have created the query is to have multiple hidden Key Figures that calculates the MTD and YTD.
In Columns in Query Designer it will look something like this:
Selection: MTD January--> Date = 31.01.2008, Key Figure (Always Show)
Selection: YTD January --> Date= 31.01.2008, Key Figure (Always Show)
Selection: MTD February --> Date= 29.02.2008, Key Figure (Always Hide)
Formula: MTD February --> MTD February - MTD January (Always Show)
Selection YTD February --> Date = 29.02.2008, Key Figure (Always Show)
    And so on....
This is off course a simplified version, but it shows the core of the solution. What I want to achive here is that the dates used to get the Key Figures (last date of a month) is calculated as flexible as possible, so that the users can go back and forth in time without worrying about the leap year problem and so on. I have now used an offset from the last date of last year and this is good for all the normal years, but when it is a leap year the query will use wrong dates to get the key figure vaule for the last date of each month.
Any ideas on how to achieve this without creating 12 different Customer Exit variables (one for each end date of each month)?
    Thanks
    Regards
