Album art is not all synched on Nano?

Is there a reason why some of the album art is not synched to my Nano and how can the problem be resolved? I have ensured that all the songs in the album contain the same art. Any ideas?

For individual albums not showing artwork on the iPod, I usually do the following:
My iTunes is set up to sync only checked items to my iPod. So I plug in the iPod, I select the album in iTunes and uncheck the whole album. I sync the iPod and that album is removed from the iPod completely. I then recheck all the tracks from that album and then resync the iPod forcing the album to be reuploaded onto the iPod. This normally fixes the issue.
This is a good way to do it for those onesy-twosey albums rather than turning the artwork off/on for the whole library.

  • My album art does not make it onto my iPhone 4S when I drag music over from my iMax in iTunes.

I have an iPhone 4S and the latest iMac.  I manually manage my content on my iPhone - I don't have anything automatically sync on it.  But when I drag music over to my iPhone the album art does not travel with it.  I have most of my audio in AIFF format in iTunes - other than stuff I buy digitally.  I have found that once the audio is over on my phone, I then have to copy the artwork over not once but TWICE before it will update on the phone and show up.  It does work though and that is fine.
My problem now is I purchase digital 'compilations' where each track has a different album cover because they come from different albums.  I just dragged over 250+ tracks and I'm not going to go in 1 by 1 and copy the album covers over twice for each track.
My phone used to update properly but in the last few months it stopped doing it properly so I'm wondering if there is something that needs to be reset on it to get it to work properly again.
I have all the files on my iPhone coverted to 128K for size issues and all my files in iTunes are at least 320K or higher so they all get down-converted when they are moved onto the iPhone.  I assume the artwork is somehow getting 'lost' in this conversion process.
    Thanks,
    Rob

Cool - yeah I grabbed that script as well.  Going to go through my library and run that one as well.  Seems to only be able to handle X amount of tracks at a time so will have to do it step by step.  I have about 21000 tracks in my library and it didn't like doing all at one time
Its fine if it compresses the images a bit - not a big deal.  Its only on my phone so its fine.  I'm probably a bit anal about things but I hate having tracks on my phone with no images - if there are images available.
    Thanks again!

  • How can the album-art, which is all in iTunes , suddenly only shows partially on the iPod classic 160 gb?

I'm user of iTunes for years and in possession of 2 iPod classics.
For both iPods I have a specific playlist created, which I sync with iTunes. Each of my nearly 50,000 tracks in iTunes comes with the right Album-art (all 500 x 500 pixels and 72 dpi) andeach track contains also the necessary meta data and is converted to 160 or 192 kbps  M4a. In Finder on my MacBook I can see that the M4a files all contain album-art, because the file icons show the album art for each file name! Also in the grid overview of iTunes you can see them all, no exception.
For years that went well. Now,  a week ago, I made a new playlist (16,000 tracks) for one of my iPod classics because I wanted a different content! The old playlist I discarded and synchronized the new one.  Now it appears that a large number of album-art on the iPod is not shown, nor in cover-flow nor during play-back. I then tried to get my new playlist updated by exported as XML and then imported into iTunes again. In that case all tracks from the list are checked for completeness against the library and after import it should be fine. Unfortunately, it is not the case. Still the album-art is not shown for all tracks/albums on the iPod.
I run iTunes (11.2.2 (3)) on a MacBook Pro at the end of 2009, with the latest OSX version (10.9.3) and with enough disk space and memory.
My iTunes library is on a NAS (Synodisk DS209J II plus) the iPods run on the latest sw version (1.1.2) and are both Apple formatted.
I wonder if this is an iPod error or something wrong with the library. I hope you will understand, that I do not want to lose all the metadata of the 50,000 tracks by rebuilding the library, especially things like: date added, number of times played, rating, comments!
I hope someone can provide me an acceptable solution.
    With regards, Sign-X

I'm a bit confused, but I assume you want to shuffle your playlist while you are playing it in iTunes. If this is so, you will actually have to start playing a song before the shuffle button appears, and it appears in the top center panel of your iTunes window. Yeah, I know...

  • Album Art does not appear unless I buy from iTunes

I imported hundreds of cd's into my iTunes library and I noticed that the album art was not appearing. The only album art that appears on my color iPod is from the songs that I purchase from iTunes. Can anyone tell me if I can get the album art from my CDs to appear in my iTunes library and on my iPod? Thanks for any suggestions.

Thanks, Mimico Kid! Your suggestion was extremely easy and worked like a charm!
I basically went to Amazon.com like you suggested, searched for all of my cd's in the Amazon music section. Once each cd was listed, I enlarged the album cover to its largest size and then right-clicked on the largest image and then "saved as" the name of the cd in a separate, Album Art folder that I created in the "My Pictures" folder on my c drive. Then I opened iTunes and the Album covers folder that I created and dragged the jpeg of the album cover into the section of iTunes on the lower left side where users are prompted to drag album art.
Here's a hint to significantly quicken the transfer of album art from your separately created "Album Art" folder on your hard (c:) drive to iTunes: select all of the songs of a particular cd listed in your iTunes library before you drag the album art over from your separately created "Album Art" folder. That way, when you do drag the album art over, it will be applied to all of the selected songs - this saves lots of time if you have multiple tracks from CDs in your iTunes library.

  • Album Art Does Not Resize in Album Art Panel

For some reason some of my album art does not fill up or resize when I resize the album art panel (the lower left hand side of itunes). This happens only with some, not all, of my art. Some additional background:
    - No problem with album art in cover flow or grid views
    - album art was embedded in file by another program (not itunes)
    - Occurs in itunes 7 and itunes 8
    - for the album art that is a problem, the art does not fill in the album art panel and therefore when i resize the panel, it just stays the same size.

I still don't understand why it would scale in the other views (cover flow and list view)
Who knows? The artwork preview panel pre-dates Cover Flow, so when Cover Flow was intoduced and made to scale art up as well as down, perhaps nobody considered revisiting the code for the artwork panel to make it work the same way. However, I find the existing behaviour quite handy for spotting when I have images that are too small, since these generally don't scale well. I have my artwork panel set to fit my minimum acceptable size of 200x200 pixels so if I ever notice a white border I know to try and find better quality art.

  • Album art will not sync to iPod...

Normally my album art works fine. Upload it to my songs from a picture file on my hard drive, works fine. But lately, all of a sudden, any new uploaded album art pictures to songs do not sync to the iPod. None of them. When getting the info for a song on iTunes, the album art shows up fine; but they refuse to sync to the iPod. The song syncs fine; but the album art does not go with it.
The album art pictures I uploaded are all standard .jpg files, they are no larger in resolution, size, or memory than other album arts that I uploaded in the past that work fine. This just started happening all of a sudden, without any preferences being changed or anything. I've tried finding new pictures to use, but that didn't work. I've tried re-installing iTunes, that didn't work. I've tried ejecting and not ejecting my iPod before disconnecting it, neither do anything. I've tried deleting and replacing the entire song on iTunes, did nothing.
Has this happened to anyone else? What could be causing this?

Actually, toggling that option and syncing made it so now no artwork shows up on my iPod at all...
Please say there's another option for syncing artwork. Because that option just made things worse.

  • Album art does not match artist

About 50% of the album art does not match the artist titles on the iPod. In iTunes they are fine. I've reset and resynced. Any ideas?
    thanks

If your iPod is set to update automatically then try this:
    iTunes 6
    1. Connect your iPod
    2. Disable "Show Album art" in iTunes>Edit>Preferences>iPod.
    3. Syncronise the iPod with iTunes. (Disconnecting and then reconnecting your iPod will do the trick)
    4. Re-enable "Show Album Art" in iTunes>Edit>Preferences>iPod.
    5. Syncronise the iPod again.
    iTunes 7
    1. Connect your iPod
    2. Disable "Display album artwork" in iPod>Music tab and click Apply.
    3. Syncronise the iPod with iTunes.
    4. Re-enable "Display album artwork" in iPod>Music tab and click Apply.
    5. Syncronise the iPod again.

  • Album Art does not show up when using shuffle.

When I turn on shuffle in my 80gb Classic the album art does not show up.
It is about 50/50 some songs will show art and some will not. The art that did not show up the last time I shuffled will show up this time. It is not consistant. When I am not in shuffle the art always shows up just fine.
Anyone having this problem? Any ideas on how to stop this from happening? Thanks, Robert

You might also recreate your iTunes library on your computer... and then when you connect your iPod you should be presented with a dialogue asking you to erase & sync the iPod. Click the erase & sync button (provided your songs are still in iTunes).

  • Album art does not display on iPod after sync with iTunes

I synced my 1G iPod nano to the new iTunes 7, and it did not seem to fully sync my iPod. I downloaded some album art onto some songs and they dont display on my iPod nano. Does anyone have the same problem as I do? Much help would be appreciated

I was hoping I could find the answer here. I have a 60GB Video and before v7 about 30% of my albums had art that I found and attached myself, they showed up on my iPod. With v7 I chose for iTunes to get my album art and it did, all of my songs had corresponding art to go with it, when I plugged in my iPod to sync last night I just let it run because there are so many. This morning I get my iPod and I play a song, nothing, then another and another and still no art but when I open iTunes, I see the album art. What gives?

  • ITunes got smarter about album art, why not the iPod Classic?

I'm a long time iTunes fan and noticed that iTunes USED to be "stupid" about album art where the user had to paste the art in multiple times (into every track) or it didn't display in cover flow properly.  And, once you did this, then a synched iPod would also display the correct album art on every track instead of SOME of the tracks, which I saw it do...
But the latest versions of iTunes have noticed got "smarter" and I have seen it now where you only need to paste in one image, and iTunes displays it as needed AUTOMATICALLY on all other tracks on the same album.
This is obviously a step forward, especially if you have 5,000 tracks on your iPod!!
I just got a new iPod Classic and I have concluded after a lot of technical research and experimentation that it is still "dumb", and seems to need the album art pasted into every track STILL.   It's annoying to me as a computer scientist that the same feature or benefit isn't there on both platforms.
I know this is a pretty advanced question compared to the normal iTunes user, but I was hoping that someone could point me to a better solution than having to paste up to 5,000 album arts into my iPod?
Thanks in advance for any help, I appreciate any comments.
    D.

As a computer scientist I love your handle!    Are you real?  <jk>
I go way way way back with iTunes, I was using it to rip CD's, and as my primary music player on my desktops and laptops beginning in the 90s when it was Mac-only!  Long before the iTunes Store even appeared, in fact.  I don't actually have even one purchased iTunes store track, just have 5,000 ripped files from my own purchases.  I also have edited the files I've imported, so my collection has only stuff I have pre-listened to and like personally, so I found Shuffle play to be a "100% win" and I use it exclusively on both my laptop and my iPod.  It's a "100% win" because I stack the deck, to use an american expression.
I had a large CD collection of 500+ CDs so you can see I am a major music enthusiast.  Unfortunately, I don't possess the CDs any more but I do have the electronic copies...
I loved how ITunes was time-optimized algorithmically to high efficiency in the ripping process (no doubt Steve Jobs guidance) and automatically looked up track names and artists on the Internet, and automatically managed the MP3s files too.  It's competition (Winamp and WMP) still required you to manually manage everything.  I also used the burn mp3 cd's function which made single-button burning of up to 12 hours of playlisted content a LOT.
So, that's why I do recall the early days when it was not as "smart" as it is now.
I visited your scripts page, a lot of very cool things there, but, if I understand correctly, Visual Basic doesn't work on OS X?  That ***** MICROSOFT.  Reminds me of when MS didn't support Apple clients on Exchange!
    Any further suggestions?

  • Album Art will not sync onto iphone 3GS

Songs I have downloaded since the 3.0 upgrade will not sync the album art onto my iphone 3GS. The art work is all in itunes, but on my phone it is just a black square. Help!

I have the same problem. Artwork is correct in iTunes, but does not sync with iPhone, even after deletion and re-sync. I have albums that did not originally have artwork that were transferred to the iPhone (3GS) without artwork. I then downloaded the artwork in iTunes, deleted the original files off the iPhone, and re-transferred the files (which now have artwork). The artwork did not transfer over to the iPhone. Basically, I'm stuck with the amount of artwork I had when I synced the iPhone for the very first time.

  • Album Art is not Downloading

Song and album information is downloading but no album art for my store bought cd burns

    hi Katrina
    Thanks for the reply.
The only thing I removed were files stored in a folder outside My Documents. This is not the folder I download items to (ie I added it as a folder previously but was able to download artwork for the songs therein. I don't have iTunes set to organise my files, and cannot for these items as they shared between me and another user on the PC. (We have separate
All iTunes specific items are in their default location under My Documents, My Music, iTunes. The only item I have touched is the Downloaded folder under Album Art which I deleted.

  • Album art does not show on iPod

Only the album art from Apple Store purchase is showing up on my iPod. Any art that I imported to iTunes for my own cd's does not show on the iPod. Some of the art came from the Apple "get album art" some I got off the net.
    I have iPod v1.2.
    Thanx for any thoughts

Try to disable album art on your iPod, then sync it,
then enable artwork again, sync it again and it
should be okay...assuming all the album art appears
    in iTunes.
I've had this same problem and it's worked for me.
I manually add songs onto my Ipod and then delete them from Itunes.
Wouldn't syncing my Ipod erase all the songs that are currently on it only adding what is currently in my Itunes Library?

  • Download ipod album art but NOT into itunes

I keep all my music on my ipod. some of it had album art when it was on my computer, which transfered fine, and I can see it on the ipod. now I would like to update all the album art on the ipod, but none of the music is on my computer. there seem to be many freeware utilities out there to update album art but they are all for itunes and not just the ipod. I will not move all the music back to my computer just to get the art; there must be a way to do this easily. I'd also like to avoid setting up an itunes store account just for the privilege. thanks!

  • IPod album art does not match song

Whenever I play songs on my iPod the album art is messed up. The art does not show up with the correct song and I don't know what to do. I have checked and all of the album art is correct on the computer. I don't know what is wrong with my iPod and I would like to be able to solve this problem without having to send my iPod out to Apple. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

If you have an iTunes store account, you can use the "get album artwork" option in iTunes. You don't actually need to purchase anything from the iTunes store, just to have or create an account. Provided that the album or song for which you are looking to add artwork is available for sale in the store, iTunes will find it and add it to your library.
If you go to preferences/general in iTunes and check the box marked "automatically download missing album artwork", it will automatically add the artwork when you import a CD into iTunes.
One downside to this is that if you have an album or song misspelled in your iTunes library, it may not be found by iTunes because it will be looking for a match.
See: How to add artwork using iTunes.
If you don't have an account or don't want to create one, here are a couple of other methods.
First off, make sure you have "show album art" enabled in iPod options.
Highlight a song or album in iTunes, then right click on it and select the "get album artwork" option.

Go to Google Image Search and type in the artist/album name and click on search images.

Double click on a picture you like, then at the top of that page click on "see full size image".

When you get that image, simply copy/paste it into the space for album artwork in iTunes.

Make sure you select the album in the browser of iTunes before you copy/paste.

You'd be surprised what Google Images can bring up. There are literally millions, and even obscure album artwork can be found.
In the unlikely event that Google can’t find an image, you can also get artwork from Amazon.
If you’re happy using images from Amazon, and don’t want to copy/paste, then iTunes Art Importer is a nice free program to do it for you.
