Album art not matching up when synced from itunes to ipad2?

Has anyone had this issue. Songs are correct but they matched up with the wrong album art?

I think you're right KeRaMa19.
I also have my iPod set up to be managed manually. I don't want to take up hard drive space on my boot drive with 130GB of music (I back up all my music to an external HD).
I think that, unlike the prior version of iTunes, iTunes 11 doesn't access the iPod's Album Art cache… though with BBEdit (display hidden files, enable everything), I see that there is a database on my iPod under *iPodName* / iPod_Control / Artwork / ArtworkDB
Curiously, the ArtworkDB file is only 1.7MB. However, I have 4 .ithmb files that are 73.6MB, 460.2MB, 13.8MB and 66 KB (and 2 .tmp files that are 1.5MB and 16KB).
The other curious thing is that, when I use iPod Access to copy/rip songs from my iPod to my desktop, the resulting copies of the mp3's DO display the artwork in iTunes when I play them (off my desktop).
As I said, it appears that iTunes 11 no longer accesses the artwork database on the iPod. I hope they fix that, because it's an inconvenient pain in the a§§

  • IPod touch 4g will not back-up when syncing with iTunes

I was wondering why my iPod touch 4g will back-up when syncing in iTunes. I have tried rebooting the iPod and pc, but still no luck. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks if you can.

What exactly happens when you try to sync?
    Does iTunes see the iPod?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Does any media now sync to the iPod?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

  • Album art not matching correctly between iTunes and iPhone.

So as much as this might not seem as an issue for some, I notice that my album artwork in iTunes does not always match up with the album art on my phone. If I think that some artwork for a song or album is unappealing or not matching, I will change it to my own artwork. Normally, this has never been an issue for me until recently. What happens is I do the normal album art changing procedure (go to get info, add/delete album art) and it works fine. The odd thing is that when I go to select an album on my phone, the album art is the same as what it was in the iTunes Store and not what I added, but the individual songs have the album art that I added myself.
I've managed to fix this issue on some albums by converting them mp3 format, but that only works for some and I don't know why. I would prefer the song art and album art be the same, just because I'm really nitpicky about things matching. Am I missing a step or doing something wrong? Does anyone else happen to have this issue, or any clue what the problem might be? Help would be much appreciated, thanks!

What you are trying to do is clear but iTunes Match / IOS 6 does not work that way.
You can sync playlists from computer to iDevice using the options under the music tab for your iDevice on the computer.  This will provide a local copy on the iDevice of each Song included in each Playlist selected for sync.
With iTunes Match / IOS 6, as Songs are played from the iCloud (ie not those already downloaded in playlists) IOS 6 does in fact 'download' the Song to a local cache.  In theory this cache should be managed by IOS 6 such that it does not overload your iDevice memory - Apple have not chosen to share exactly how this operates.
Given your notes above would suggest starting from a refresh restore on the iPhone 5 with all synchronisation performed afresh and iTunes Match switched on.

  • Small and big album art not matching

I bought an 5G iPod only ten days or so ago, and I have recently finished to transfer all my song database.
I'm seeing something strange happens with the album art. Sometimes I take a look on the screen, and it correctly displays the song info: artist, album, song title and also the small album pic are OK. But when I push the central button to see the enlarged album art, sometimes the album picture I see belongs to a different artist or album that I also have in my library. It also happens the other way around, i.e, if I display the big album pic and then I switch to the artist/title screen.
Does anyone know how can I fix this and why does it happen?
    Thanks in advance
Edit: I have just seen that sometimes the work art displayed is plain wrong in both small and big sizes. I have checked on ITunes and the album art is looks fine there, though. Is it possible that something went wrong during my last iPod-iTunes sync?

yeah mine too, and i've tried re-setting it, and wiping it and re-sync ing etc,
still seems to do the same, and is generally rally annoying seeing how it is such a relatively useless feature, it would be nice if it at least worked...!
    any ideas..?

  • Certain albums in music libary won't sync from iTunes to iPhone 4s

Had an iphone 4 which worked perfectly. Phone decided to go for a swim and passed away.
Majority of apps, settings etc and music libary restored on an old iPhone 3S, but some music albums did not syncronice, majority synced without any problem.
Tried various hints like creating new playlists in itunes and syncing with phone without any success.
Put issue on hold pending arrival on new iPhone 4S.
    4S arrived and same issue.
The albums are purchased via iTunes.
Albums exist in iTunes music libary, can be played in iTunes on PC.
Have tried to remove all music from iPhone, and just selecting the albums which are a problem, and as well creating new playlists to be synced, without any success.
When sync is attempted an error message occurs on the phone, stating that there are problems syncing the number of tracks in question, and "check itunes from more information".
There are no information about any sync issues in itunes.
    Any ideas?

If these earlier songs were purchased with a different Apple ID, you might try on your phone going to Settings>Store>Apple ID, tap the ID shown, sign out, then sign back in using this earlier ID.  Do the same with iTunes on your computer (signing into the iTunes store with this earlier ID). For good measure, restart your computer and your phone, then try syncing the music to see if it will transfer now.  If it does, you can to back and reset your Apple IDs the way they were before.

  • How come playlists and total songs don't match up when syncing in iTunes?

    Hello,
I own an iPod Touch 5G and sync it regularly via usb cable to my MacBook Pro 17", using iTunes 11. I seem to have a terrible time understanding the concept of syncing music/movies via the "selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres" option. That doesn't mean that I'm choosing to sync manually, just means that I'm syncing only certain playlists/content, even if done "automatically" whenever I connect device with iTunes, correct?
For some time now, well before iTunes 11 came out, I haven't been able to accurately sync the music and videos I'd like to "push" to the iPod Touch. No matter how many times I sync or think I'm removing content from the iPod touch by way of iTunes, I always end up with more on the iPod than I ever wanted. It seems like that capacity bar at the bottom of iTunes screen telling me what's on the Touch is a big joke, as it never seems to accurately show what's on there.
For example, I have a lot more songs and videos in iTunes than what my Touch has space for, so I can never have all my content syncing to the Touch. I have created numerous playlists inside iTunes, in fact, this is how I organize my music for listening.  I was under the assumption that whatever playlists I check while inside of iPod touch area of iTunes when the devices is connected, those are the ONLY playlists and songs that will be on the iPod touch. This is never the case. After checking the desired playlists and syncing, I have the correct number of desired playlists on the iPod (let's say it's currently 10 playlists), but in actuality, when I go to the iPod touch after disconnecting from iTunes, there's a LOT more songs on iPod than just the ones within those 10 playlists. It's like when I got rid of some of the playlists on the iPod touch, the songs never got erased, only the playlists they were place in.
So, my question is, in short, how do I have ONLY the songs within my 10 playlists and no more after syncing with iTunes? Similar issue pertains to my synced videos/home movies. They are never erased from Touch, even though certain ones are unchecked within iTunes.  If somebody could shed light on this issue, I'd greatly appreciate it! I feel like something designed to be so easy and logical has been anything but that.

when you play the CD in your laptop on your home screen a Cd should pop up under the name of the album. Than when you open itunes it will probly say something like "let this CD download" or something like that. If it doesn't than automaticlly while the CD is importing to your itunes a page will pop up with a progess of the CD download.
    Hope that helped.

  • Error message when Sync from itunes.

I have 2 TVs, both have the latest update, iTunes 8, using AE for WIFI and both streaming. Both units have been working great for over a year now.
One of the unit is now freezing up after about 1hr of use... I get this error message from iTunes when trying to Sync the unit:
    "The AppleTV is not responding.
Check that any firewall software running on this computer has been set to allow communication on port 3689."
Never got this message before, trying to figure out where could I find the setting for any firewall software.???
I reset my WIFI network (WEP)
I did a soft and hard reset of the TV.
Don't know what to do any more.... Might be the unit going bad but I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestion.
    Here is my setup:
    iTunes 8
    AE for WIFI
    latest update on TV
Sys Pref> Security>firewall> allow all incoming connections
    PowermacG5, 10.5.5
    Streaming from the G5
    Thanks.

  • Album art not showing completely when playing songs on iphone

when i play songs on my ipod's iphone, for some reason not all cd cover images show up on a full view, (not in landscape mode) it will only show half of the picture. It happens with some songs/pictures not all. Is there any restriction? image size, resolution, type (jpeg, gif, bmp)?
    thanks

first thing to check is to make sure each song has the correct album artwork.
if that is correct, delete the songs from the iTunes library, sync your phone to remove all of the songs from it, and then reimport your songs and resync.

  • Why does only some of the tracks of an album appear on my ipad when syncing from my windows 7 using itunes?, why does only some of the tracks of an album appear on my ipad when syncing from my windows 7 using itunes?

i on day two of having an ipad, updated to io5 but putting music on it is proving tiresome. i've stored some 20gb on my netbook windows 7 from my larger library and using the sync process am trying to put tunes on the pad. when some albums appear they have one, maybe two songs available to play, the rest are grey and can't be played. It seems an endless process and this really is the only thing i've have concerns about i really like it.

That would be a question for Yahoo or Microsoft. It isn't your iPad that is doing this.

  • Photo's messed up when syncing from iTunes 10 to iPhone OS 4.1

Every time I sync photos from my PC to the iPhone the album goes all messed up. When I click the album the grid lines are all over the place and the photo's are overlapping and like a jigsaw puzzle. When I click to open a photograph the actual photograph is fine so it must just be the thumbnail.
I suspect is a bug in software when its creating the preview table. This could be my iPhone or iTunes, not sure.
So far i have reset my phone to factory default using iTunes, i have done a complete remove and reinstall of itunes inc removing all the sister software, even deleted the user files etc.
Can't figure out why its doing this but if anyone has any suggestions i'd be happy to hear them.
See the screen shot i took of it doing it:
    http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=123520&id=223100326&l=39b782b90d

I later discovered from reading posts on this site that it was Zone Alarm causing corruption of the photographs during the sync process.
I disabled Zone Alarm and tried to sync the photographs again and it worked fine!

  • 1st gen apple tv not showing all movies synced from iTunes.

I have 30 movies in iTunes library that I synced to my 1st gen Apple TV.  I have viewed several of these movies in the past on the Apple TV but some are not coming up in the listings anymore.  I go back to iTunes and still see that they are still stored/synced to the Apple TV.  Why can't I see them listed anymore? (Can't see them under 'Watched' or 'Unwatched')

    Hi clur,
I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Apple TV and the most recent iTunes 12 upgrade. If you continue to have issues with your 1st Gen Apple TV not showing up in iTunes, you may find the troubleshooting steps outlined in the following article helpful:

  • HT1399 My album is not litsed alphabetically but it is when synced from PC to iphone. How do I keep the songs list in my iphone as it is in my album?

My album is not litsed alphabetically but it is when synced from PC to iphone. How do I keep the songs list in my iphone as it is in my album?

Check the section in the User Guide for Music, It might help you navigate around the app a little better: http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/ipad_user_guide.pdf
To reiterate, some reasons you may not be getting Albums group as you want:
Songs are not properly tagged in itunes prior to synching (you should also make sure Album Artist is tagged, BTW)
You are using the wrong view in the Music app

  • Installing art when "Album Art Not Modifiable"

I was recently trying to drag and drop album artwork into the iTunes photo receptacle in the lower left hand corner and noticed that it read "Album Art Not Modifiable". Does that mean I can't paste anything there? There's no art at all currently, even when I ask iTunes to find the album art for that CD. If anyone knows of a way to override this, I'd appreciate it. Thank you.

    Is that really true?
'Cause being new to this, I've only just added a few albums as .wav and succesfully downloaded album art, using the functionality within Itunes. And this should not have been possible? For instance Loretta Lynn "Van Lear Rose", Emmylou Harris "Stumble into grace" and Elvis Costello/Burt Bacharach "Painted from Memory" all worked just fine. But Itunes was not able to download album art for all my albums - Simply Red "Greatest Hits" from 1996 was one that did not work. So I browsed the internet and was able to find jpegs of this album art, which I know have stored locally. But how do I get that into Itunes?
    brgds,
    Linus
