Album Art not showing on iPod

This has been an annoying problem the past several years of using iTunes, I was able to get some versions of the iTunes to work but I just uploaded the new 7.5 iTunes version...and when I try to add an album art to the songs on my iPod they don't show up except on iTunes.
Is this iTunes version being screwy? Anyone else with the same problem, anyone with a solution?

Album Art not showing up?

Has anyone else had a problem with their album art not showing up in coverflip? These are all CD's that I own and ripped onto my computer with iTunes, and if I look at them in iTunes I can see the cover art. But when I turn my ipod sideways to flip through the albums, I see a bunch of black squares. Some of the albums I can see the artwork when it's not the selected album, but if I scroll to it, the art disappears and it's just an empty black square. The only albums where this seems to work properly are the ones I bought and downloaded digitally through iTunes, but most of my music collection is CD's, so I'm really hoping there's a way to fix this.
I've already tried googling pictures of the album art and re-tagging the songs with the picture on there, and it does do a sync afterwards, but I'm still seeing black squares. I also tried deleting one of the albums from my ipod entirely, and reloading it, and that worked the first time I went into coverflip, but in subsequent tries it has reverted back to being just a black square.

the only real solution i've seen is to re-sync the problem tracks, i've probably missed some though, so it's worth looking around.

Album art not showing on other Mac

On my iMac all the album art was present in iTunes. After matching and uploading all the songs (afterwards I deleted them and redownloaded to get the 256kbps version) everything was still ok on my iMac. However on my MacBook Pro only several cd's display album art. I can't really seem to find out why some have and why some don't have the album art, it seems to be random. On my iPhone 4 most of the album art is showing, with just a few exceptions. For this I also have no explanation.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Make sure that in iTunes on the music tab for the ipod you have a checkmark in the box saying "Show Album Artwork on Ipod" or something along those lines. If it is not checked, do so and click apply. If it is checked then uncheck it and click apply. Then recheck it and click apply. This should get the artwork on the ipod. It may take awhile depending on how many tracks you have that have artwork.

Album art not showing up under Artists

I just bought my 120GB ipod last week. It was working fine, but now the album art that shows up next to each album under "Artists" is not showing up. The art is there if I select a song from one of those albums. This didn't happen before...is there something wrong?
Also, I was listening to a playlist on shuffle, and when I clicked to go to the next song, it kept skipping to the next song like it was stuck in that mode. What's going on with that?

It's likely that the artwork cache is corrupted.
It's a simple fix by unchecking "display album artwork" in the music preferences section when your iPod is connected and click "apply". Then sync your iPod.
Then check "display album artwork" in the music preferences section when your iPod is connected and click "apply". Then sync your iPod again.
This should resync the album artwork to the iPod.

Podcast album art not showing

We just created a podcast feed and have not been able to get the Album art to show up. I contacted iTunes Store Support and they were unable to help and directed me to this forum.
As far as I can tell, our feed is correctly formed, but the album art still isn't displaying. I've read that a number of users have had problems with this? Album art not showing up and iPod randomly resets

I have a 60 gig video iPod which I got on Christmas. It worked fine until I updated it with the iPod updater on whatever day Apple released the update--since then, it has mostly worked, but it randomly completely resets, and album art that I've added since the update won't show up. Any suggestions?
Oh and, I was sort of "forced" to update, because iTunes refused to transfer videos to my iPod if I didn't update.

I took my ipod to the Apple store and this is exactly what he did. The album work showed up.
I come home to put some new art on there tonight, I tried it, it doesn't work.
when I uncheck/ok then check again/ok, it starts to update but then I get an error notice:
"an unkown error occured (-50) cannot be updated."
I've searched all over for a (-50) error notice and can't find it anywhere.

thanks to the itunes v7 i got a bunch of album art for the cds that i had ripped into itunes, but when i coneect and update my ipod the art isnt transfered into my ipod.
any suggestions as to how to get the art synced into my ipod?! thanks for any help

Are you trying to add album art to multiple songs at a time (say more then 4 at a time)? I had this same issue when I updated my software to iTunes and decided to go back to iTunes 6. It was frustrating having to add album art to one song at a time versus multiple songs (with iTunes 6). From what I've read, iTunes 7 is chock full of bugs/issues and a lot of folks have reverted back to the previous version.

Album artwork not showing on iPod touch 5th gen

Hey guys,
I really need help on this. The issue has been bugging me the last several weeks and it is driving me nuts.
After I updated my iPod touch to 6.1.3 as well as itunes on my windows to ver.11.0.2.26 (or the one before),
I could no longer add album art to any of the new songs I add to my iPod.
The weird thing is that album arts are there in itunes under get info ---> artwork,
but they just never show on the actual screen of iPod touch no matter what I do. I tried to hit the sync button,
remove/add the songs back to itunes again, even restored the iPod touch but didn't do a thing. Now all the previous songs' artworks are gone.
I like to organize all songs manually so are all the artworks. I google the image and copy/paste to each song by going under get info ---> artwork
Tried to get album artworks using the itunes feature but since some of the songs I have are foreign songs, so it wouldn't work either.
I also don't use library to organize my music since I have some duplicates and they just look really messy in library.
I simply just drag and drop music on the iPod itself.
Is anybody out there having the same issue? I called Apple and they had no clue to why.
It worked perfectly fine until the last update. Now I am really regretting the update. All the songs are now showing nothing but music
note on the screen with title and artist name.
Help will be appreciated!

Glad to know I wasn't the only one with this issue.
As an update to my issue, the album artwork all the sudden reappeared on my iPod yeasterday.
Still don't know the actual cause or what actually got itself fixed but here's how I did:
- Back up your iPod first. Since I didn't have much to lose on my iPod, for those who have alot of stuff on there should promptly do so just in case.

and follow the procedures.
- Some people might get the album artwork back working properly again by the end of the procedure above, but it still didn't work for me so I suspected it was itunes so I uninstalled the itunes from my PC and reinstalled.
- It still didn't want to show album artwork after reinstallation so instead of synching it to the PC, I used my Macbook (OSX 10.6.8) and downloaded the older version itunes (10.7) through here:

- It still didn't show after days followed but while I almost bang my head against the screen, I figured
that go to get info------> artwork, click add, select the image file, click ok, and if it still wouldn't show;
click on the image and delete the image. Repeat the previous step once again, and it should start synching to your iPod after hitting ok. If it doesn't sync automatically, hit sync and voila. The album artwork should once again, show on your iPod like before.
Again, the process is somewhat hectic but hey, it works now. I'm still hesitant to sync with the newest itunes though. I don't know how my iPod was able to sync with a PC and my Macbook but I was able to manage and keep all the stuff, minus the music, before the problem occured. Let me know how you guys did.

Album art not showing consistently on iPhone *lockscreen*

iTunes occasionally has trouble with album art, especially after syncs or updates (album art disappearing, or being reshuffled to the wrong mp3s, etc.).
The current problem is different. Normally, with the iPhone's (iPod) music playing, the album art will replace the wallpaper on the lock screen. Lately, this feature has stopped being consistent. Some tracks will display album art on the lock screen, some won't. Those that won't, do have album art embedded (100% certain of this). In one instance, the album art displayed was a mishmash of two different albums' art (again, only on the lock screen). Editing the mp3s to reinsert the album art in iTunes, and then re-syncing, has not solved the problem.
This is probably an issue with how iTunes is handling/editing those mp3s affected, or it may be an iPhone bug. There's nothing outstanding about the specific tracks in question - in every other way they appear to be normal (write enabled, and album art showing in track info).
This problem only occurs @ the lock screen. In iPod view, and album view, display of the album art is normal for all tracks.
I have noticed this also happening with other audio sources (ie, third party audio streaming apps, which normally show some kind of album art @the lock screen).

I too have been having this issue & I've read the articles, advices & other discussions, but none of them fixes this issue. I reboot & still see the wrong album art on the lock screen. It is very annoying especially when you have iTunes with software that was purchased to "automajically" present the correct album artwork. For those of us who actually precise about how our libraries are organized this is a big deal. You spends hours days in keeping things organized, just for the sync to not resemble the labor...
I have both the iPhone 4 & an iPod Touch 2nd gen. You'd think Apple would get stuff like this together before approving it for an update. No one can convince me different... Apple & Windows now both have the same MO! Get a new team of testers.

Album art not syncing on iPod Video

Hi.
I'm new to iPods. Don't hate me.
I purchased a bunch of songs at work on my G5. That's not my "home" Mac. I copied them to my iPod in drive mode, brought them back to the "home" Mac. Added them to iTunes by drag and drop. Synced. They show up in iTunes and on my iPod, but the album art is not there. What happened?
Again, I purchased them on a different computer and loaded to my "home" Mac.
Is it at all possible for the art to show up?

The album art is stored in the iPod's database. This should work...

Album Art Not Showing Up on iPhone 4

Hey guys, i need some help from the experts.
My some album art is not showing up on my iPhone 4. My iTunes library in on an external HD so I'm not sure if that's the cause of it. How can I this? Of course, when I synched my iPhone 4 with my Mac the HD is connected so one would think the album artwork would transfer or be synched as well but no go. I would appreciate any help. thanks!

Dear Apple Community,
Over the past few months, my iPhone does not show the album art when I play music. I have been using iPod/iPhone for over a decade now and I always like to have album art to keep my music organized. When I play a song, the album art will say "Missing". I have scrolled through my songs and none of my 2000+ songs have album art. I have been using my iPhone 4S for 3 years now and this problem has only happened over the past few months. I even updated to the newest software yesterday, but the problem persists. My music on my iTunes all have album art and it should sync to my phone, right?

Most album artwork not showing on iPod after upgrade 1.0.2

When I was on version 1.0.1 on my 160GB iPod classic, I had to tell iTunes NOT to show cover art on my iPod, or else it would make the iPod crash all the time.
Since I thought upgrading 1.0.2 would fix this, I updated my iPod and I told iTunes to show album art on my iPod.
Now, out of all the artwork that shows up fine in iTunes, only about 30% shows up at all on my iPod.

Bump, same issue.
About half of the album art shown in iTunes shows up on iPod classic 80gb.
Some album art files could not even be assigned in iTunes. I'm too OCD for this stuff.

Album art not showing up with recent update

With a recent iTunes update (10.2 or 10.2.1) suddenly the album art for a bunch of my music is not being detected anymore. This is album art that I've added to the files myself, and it's music not from iTunes Store. Other music of mine doesn't seem to be affected; it's only the music that I added album art myself. These songs were working just fine before the update, and still work in other programs. I'm having trouble determining specifically just what about the files is upsetting iTunes.

I'm having the same exact problem.
I've been reading up this morning on the different ways to correct this, and none of them work. Here's what I've tried:
- Manually add artwork to the album
- Advanced>Get Album Artwork
On older iTunes I'm getting the impression that you could go to your iPod/iPhone, click MUSIC, and then click something like "Allow/Enable (?) Album Artwork. Not finding it on iTunes 10.
Help!
