is there an option to add album artwork in the music library like the n96 and 95...if so where is it?

As previously mentioned, if you check album info by right clicking the album icon in Windows Media Player, it will update all the meta data on the file and will display everything correctly on your phone, Personally I tend to drag and drop the album cover onto the album icon in WMP as well, and all my music shows fine !!

Album art option in Windows7

Where (is there) is the option to display the album art on your iPod with Windows7?
I've installed iTunes 9 and I have a 1st Gen. Nano. I've had zero problems until I loaded my Nano using my new Windows7 machine. In the past (using XP) there was an option (I think it was on the main screen in options or in the Edit> Preferences), but at the moment I only have options to Enable Disc Use, Manually Manage Music, Sync, and Open iTunes when the iPod is attached. Nothing for displaying the Album Art on my iPod.
Does someone know where the option to display Album Art on the ipod is using Windows7 & iTunes9?

Yeah I had a feeling that was the case, that's crap. Like many people on this forum the contents of my iTunes library are very detailed. Not only do I have the album art for all of my tracks I make sure it's the correct edition of the artwork in the case of reissues.
I'm still not getting the artwork on my 1st Gen. Nano despite it being in my iTunes library, do I have to use the Sync function to have that feature? When I add tracks to my iPod it pauses and reads 'Syncing Do Not Disconnect' yet after it's finished and I disconnect the device, no artwork! It's really strange as I keep my music on an external hard drive, when I got my new Windows7 machine all I did was install iTunes, select the proper drive and folder, then drag my files in from my old drive, nothing changed and I was getting that artwork on my prior XP machine.
Any theories? I'd hate to loose the album art feature.

I recently did a sync with iTumes and found some of the music and audio books have missing or incorrect album art on my iphone. I tried deleting and adding back to the iphone, but it doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Album art work missing on new songs

I've been noticing that the album art work is missing on some of the new songs I just purchased from iTunes. I have iTunes 9 and have updated my iPod Touch software. Does anyone know what is wrong and how to fix this?

Just RIGHT click the song, and near the bottom of the drop-down menu, hit "get album artwork".

If the album art already exists this does nothing. is it possible to overwrite the existing album art by deafult?

There is an easy way to overwrite and choose new album art for albums in iTunes, Here's how:
1. Download the image you want to use as album art.
2. Open iTunes and select ALL the songs in the album you want to change the art for.
3. with all of the album's songs selected, right click on any one of them and click "Get info"
4. you'll be asked wheather you want ot change info for multiple items, say yes.
5. on the window that appears, double click on the square box next to where it says "Album art"
6. in the file selection window that opens, find and select the graphic that you want to use as the album art, and click open.
7. making sure that the grahpic that you chose is showing in the album art box, click ok to exit back into iTunes.
8. Wait fo ra short processing screen to load, then you album art should be changed!

Album art still missing in Remote with 8.1

I'm still not getting album art with the latest version of Remote (the one that came with iOS 8.1). C'mon, what's wrong?

Your comment omit a point, you focus on itunes but the Finder is involved too here. I haven't seen in your post that you mention you get the info on each mp3 or other format in the Finder, not in itunes. This can fix the thing in the Finder and if in the file info panel you don't see the cover then it's not in the mp3.
The second point I notice is that you aren't using the same manipulation to add the cover than I do. You should try like I do :
I double clic on the cover file, this opens it in the viewer. Then select all to select the picture, copy and then paste in the area where you are used to drag the file. As I already mentionned the problem is to duplicate the cover inside each mp3 of an album, but that way the cover is right into the file and the Finder or itunes or any application knows where find it in the file.
The third point I notice is that you are using ALAC but I never use that format, only mp3 and few m4a (aac). Perhaps there's specific problems with ALAC files.
About a problem from age it's more about people that use itunes to download the cover but itunes never added it in the mp3. Then the user copy the file elsewhere but without any cover. Myself I do notice that often because I buy many CD and few albums on itunes and then itunes get automatically the cover but doesn't store it in the mp3/aac. Then I copy the files on another drive where I have a more organized music and then notice the mp3 don't have anymore the cover if I haven't done the manipulation I mentionned above.
For a file named cover.something in the same folder than a track, it's not a standard allowing knows what's the cover for the mp3.

Album Art Went Missing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys, I'm having problems with my fourth generation iPod!! I attempted to download some songs from my laptop to my iPod, and my art work is now missing!!! Can someone please help me? I am totally clueless and freaking out! I dont know what todo!

I have a completely untested & unconfirmed hypothesis that "something" changed in the last iOS update with the way iTunes keeps track of which items are on the device. My guess is that it has something to do with being able to identify the same track whether on the device, in your library or in the cloud. Whatever the cause I found I needed to manually delete a bunch of albums on my iPad that were showing as dupes or without artwork which didn't get resolved by syncing. Since I deleted them and resynced it has all been fine.
Add the above to the fact that you have transferred the library in a way which duplicated it and then manually deduped and the chances are that iTunes isn't housekeeping the media properly.
Try deleting all the music from the device, by syncing with a single empty playlist for example, to see if you can clean out the media. Then add back what you want.
If all else fails backup and then restore the device.

I have synced my iphone to my PC. But on my iphone 5 half my album art is missing in the "list" on the music app? It's fine when sideways but not landscape.

So on my PC all my art work is fine
On my phone when turned sideways I can see all the album artwork. But on my phone under the app Music / more/ album I can only see half the small sized album artwork.
Why? And how can I get all of it in the list.

It should have noted that the backup was complete on the backup page. Try rebooting your computer and try it again.

How do I gain back my album art work missing from my phone?

Album art work missing on some albums

After upgrading to Itunes 10, when I go to the view where it shows the albums and shows their tracks, for some albums it shows the artwork and for others it doesn't. To be more clear, it is the viewpoint that is the second pick from the left side, I think they call it column browser. It seems like some kind of bug because when I click on the artwork under get info it shows it is still there, but it doesn't show up for some reason when I switch back to the view or even if I try to add it back. But when I go to the view where it shows all the albums by cover only, it shows them all then. Any idea how I can fix this? Because the view point where it shows all the albums and their individual tracks is my favorite view, and this is very unappealing.

Never mind I found the setting which I needed to check that fixes it.

Most albums missing album art on iPod Touch after updating to iOS 7

I updated my 5th-gen iPod Touch to iOS 7 yesterday.
As the activation servers were overloaded for most of the afternoon, the update failed for me and my iPod touch ended up wiped and in recovery mode.
I installed a blank iOS 7 and then restored my settings from the previous day's iCloud backup.
I then reuploaded all my music from iTunes to the iPod.
Most of the album art is missing from the iPod and it's making me very sad. All the album art is visible in iTunes, so this is rather confusing. There seems to be no consistency to it, between albums I bought on iTunes or albums I bought elsewhere and ripped to MP3 and added to my iTunes library, or albums for which I got the art directly from iTunes or by adding it myself.
I'm using a PC with Windows 8 and the latest version of iTunes, if this matters.
Any ideas?

That happens sometimes
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

Album art missing under artists tab on iPad 2 running iOS 5

I restored my iPad 2 to iOS 5 as a new iPad. Everything synced fine the first time and all album art showed up perfectly, but when I synced a second time, for some reason my iPad ended up messing up all the album art in the music app, but only under the artists tab. I tried unsyncing all of the music, and then resyncing all of it again, but it did the same thing if I synced it again. Only 5 artists have album art showing, but the rest are blank, even though every single album in my music library has album art. The album art in the actual albums tab is fine. Yup, driving me mad! I use my Ipad2 for professional DJing but simply cant any more. It took me three days to re-organise all my music and albums and get all the artwork in. I made the MASSIVE mistake of clicking 'sync over wifi' in itunes and now half the album art is missing again. Every time I re-sync, different artwork appears and different artwork vanishes????
I have now wiped all my music and am re-syncing yet again to see if it works.
Does anyone from Apple exist and can explain what the heck is going on here as IOS 5 has rendered my device almost unusable for its main purpose. I have to say, I have gone from selling Ipads at all my gigs to telling everyone who comes up to have a look not to bother any more - its probably caused several hundreds of laughs already, not the kind of advert Apple wants I'm guessing????

Changes made on my iPad do not appear when plugged into iTunes; missing album art on iPad.

If I make changes to the music on my iPad--i.e. delete songs/albums, add ratings, add a song to a playlist--when I plug my iPad in to view the contents in iTunes, none of these changes have been saved. The deleted music reappears, the ratings do not show up, and the new songs are not in the playlist.
Additionally, when I have my iPad plugged in to my Mac, all of my album art shows in iTunes. However, if I look at the music on my iPad by albums, much of my album art is missing.
Any suggestions?

Visionplace, i have the issue where my ipad2 changes/edits to my current playlists are NOT synced up with my itunes 11 on my computer (Windows 7). I have icloud and Itunes Match is turned on. My settings are to auto-sync and i have ALL my music set to be synced, not just select playlists. (Note I have not tested whether new playlists will appear because i usually just edit my existing ones).
So whenever i make playlist changes on my ipad2 (e.g., add or delete songs), i see the changes correctly on my iphone 4, and my Apple TV within 15 minutes without taking any steps, but they do NOT appear on my itunes 11 on my computer (Windows 7). The only way i have found to get the ipad2 playlist edits onto my itunes on my computer is to sync my iphone4 up with the computer. (My ipad changes are already on the iphone 4 automatically). My computer's itunes 11 CAN see the playlist edits i have made on the iphone4 (immediately), but not the ipad. It *****, but it works for me.
For new music purchases (from itunes store) on my ipad2, the only way i can see them on my itunes 11 on the computer is to go to the store, and download them again. Otherwise, they will not appear.
Note - in another forum when i was researching this ipad sync issue, someone had stated that the ipad/computer sync is one way. (I.e., from computer-to-ipad only). If true, that would explain why the ipad edits and new music purchases dont show up in my computer itunes. However, the iphone sync must be two ways.

There was another poster last week with this same problem and one of the things he was doing that contributed to the problem was that he had his iPod connected to his PC while making changes in his library. If you are doing this, I would suggest disconnecting your iPod, make all the changes you want to your library, then reconnect your iPod and let it resync.
If the album art reset doesn't work, you may want to try doing a Restore. Make sure all your music is backed up and in your library.

Album Art Missing / Displaying Wrong Art

I just updated both iTunes and my iPhone to the latest version. After I synched my iPhone, two issues occurred:
1 - The wrong album art was displaying for the now playing song
2 - Then after I synched again, album art is missing for all music, podcasts, video on my iPhone (it is still in iTunes)
Anyone having the same issue or know how to fix this?

Same here. The album are is correct in iTunes, but if I play the song from my playlist, I get the wrong picture.
This only happens for the last playlist I created. Earlier playlists I created show the correct album art.
I may try deleting the playlist, and recreating it.
