Album Art Problem (shows up fine everywhere with exception of one section)

My album art is not showing up properly on my iPod touch.
It shows up fine everywhere on my iTouch (including artists, cover flow, now playing etc.) with the exception of this section:
It's the same for every single artist, every single album, but only for this screen. All the other sections on my iTouch show the album art fine.
Any ideas?
(I'm running the latest OS if that helps, 4.3.3)

SAME problem here. Very frustrating as I feel I'm playing 'Whack a Mole'... I update the artwork (which I know is already correct as per previous settings and iTunes) on the problem album(s) and then they are correct on the iPhone, but then a different album(s) exhibit the problem.
I've even cleared the downloaded artwork and saved proper JPG files to the albums(s) and it still does not clear up all the issues.
ALSO, I'm not positive on this, but quite sure the only album(s) experiencing this problem are the ones added to the iPhone since the iTunes/iPhone OS update.
Using a Mac and syncing through iTunes automatically on the iPhone.

Album Art not showing up?

Has anyone else had a problem with their album art not showing up in coverflip? These are all CD's that I own and ripped onto my computer with iTunes, and if I look at them in iTunes I can see the cover art. But when I turn my ipod sideways to flip through the albums, I see a bunch of black squares. Some of the albums I can see the artwork when it's not the selected album, but if I scroll to it, the art disappears and it's just an empty black square. The only albums where this seems to work properly are the ones I bought and downloaded digitally through iTunes, but most of my music collection is CD's, so I'm really hoping there's a way to fix this.
I've already tried googling pictures of the album art and re-tagging the songs with the picture on there, and it does do a sync afterwards, but I'm still seeing black squares. I also tried deleting one of the albums from my ipod entirely, and reloading it, and that worked the first time I went into coverflip, but in subsequent tries it has reverted back to being just a black square.

the only real solution i've seen is to re-sync the problem tracks, i've probably missed some though, so it's worth looking around.

Album Art Problems Galore

So basically, I started having album art problems recently where the album art would appear correctly in my iTunes, but shows up on my iPod as a black square.
I was told to turn off album art and turn it back on, which helped, but then some of my album art just stopped showing up altogether (even though it's still visible in iTunes).
So I'm wondering what options I have? I was thinking about just completely wiping off all the album art and re-applying it; but #1, I don't know what the easiest way to wipe them off would be; #2, I don't know if re-doing all my album art will even fix the problem. With my luck, it'd have the same issue after I redid all my album art >.<

Not sure if this will be of any help but, if you're willing...
In itunes, convert the problem songs/albums' ID3 Tags to v2.3, even if they're already v2.3. (Right Click on song(s), on the menu that appears, "Convert ID3 Tags")
Then uncheck "Display Album Artwork on ipod", sync ipod. Then re-enable the "Display Album Artwork on ipod" again and sync it again.
Another possibility is that the artwork for those songs is, somehow, unpalatable with the ipod. If so, just get artwork from another source (amazon, wiki, etc.) on one or two songs (just to see if it works) and sync, see if it works then.
Don't know if these will work though. Good luck and keep us informed.

Podcast album art not showing

We just created a podcast feed and have not been able to get the Album art to show up. I contacted iTunes Store Support and they were unable to help and directed me to this forum.
As far as I can tell, our feed is correctly formed, but the album art still isn't displaying. I've read that a number of users have had problems with this? How come my i pod skips songs when played...album art problems...

the songs play fine on i tunes...but when i play them on my i pod, they simply skip to the next song of my playlist ...my album art doesent show no more too..whats wrong? i use a 30g video just incase

Try the following:
Try resetting your iPod...
Resetting iPod
If that doesn't work, make sure your iPod's software is up to date...
iTunes
iPod Updater
Updating iPod's Software
If you updated and the problem persists, try a restore...
Restore the iPod

Album art problems!!

I just got two CDs - Todd Agnew's grace like rain and Casting Crown's Until the Whole World Hears. I downloaded the Cd's onto my computer, and it worked fine. Then i tried to get the album art. No album art came up. That happens with some CD's, so I'm used to that happening. The solution that always works is to go into Google Images and manually search up the artwork, than copy & paste it onto that allbum. I tried it, with multiple images, and it just comes up black, with both CD's. I like having the album art, what can I do to help this??

This is a problem since the iTunes 10.4.0 update and until it gets fixed (by another update) the work-round is to save the artwork onto your computer first. Then paste the copy on your computer into iTunes. I don't know why, but it works!

****FIX **** update to 7.0 - Album Art problem- Disable/ReEnable failed

I have a 30gb videopod and updated to version 7. I too was experiencing problems with some tracks not showing recently added album art.
I tried disabling and re-enabling album art on both my powerbook and xp computer and which lead to no album art was showing at all. Disabled and re-enabled numerous times and couldn't get any album art to show.
In Windows, I resolved my issue by removing version 7.0 and installing back version 6.05. Fired up 6.05, Disabled and re-enabled album art and all my album art was back on my ipod. *Sigh of relief of not restoring ipod"
**if you get this message after re-installing an older of iTunes:
"The file iTune Library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes"
Try this:
for Mac Users
- go to Macintosh HD > Users > YOUR-USERID > Music > iTunes
- create a folder "Backup"
- move iTunes Music Library.xml and iTunes Library into folder Backup
- Run iTunes
- Go menu File > Import > iTunes Music Library.xml
- Wait while the files are imported.
for Windows users
- Go to My Documents > My Music > iTunes
- Move the files iTunes Music Library.xml and iTunes Music Library.itl to the Desktop
- Run iTunes
- Go menu File > Import > select the iTunes Music Library from your desktop
- Wait while the files are imported.

marx23 - your tip worked great!! I re-installed iTunes 6.0.5 with the desktop trick. Unchecked, checked, and finally - album art is back up and running on my iPod.
When I updated to iTunes 7.0 I lost album art display on 7000 songs that probably took me 100+ hours to associate. After I got iTunes 7.0 I spent over 3 hours surfing the discussion boards and Apple's tips and trying different things. All the tricks with the check box, uncheck box, eject, repeat while using iTunes 7.0 didn't work. Finally I went back to iTunes 6.0.5.

Album art not showing up under Artists

I just bought my 120GB ipod last week. It was working fine, but now the album art that shows up next to each album under "Artists" is not showing up. The art is there if I select a song from one of those albums. This didn't happen before...is there something wrong?
Also, I was listening to a playlist on shuffle, and when I clicked to go to the next song, it kept skipping to the next song like it was stuck in that mode. What's going on with that?

It's likely that the artwork cache is corrupted.
It's a simple fix by unchecking "display album artwork" in the music preferences section when your iPod is connected and click "apply". Then sync your iPod.
Then check "display album artwork" in the music preferences section when your iPod is connected and click "apply". Then sync your iPod again.
This should resync the album artwork to the iPod.

Album art only shows sometimes

I put art in itunes for several albums, and it shows up fine in itunes, but on my ipod it only shows up sometimes. For instance, one album, the first 4 songs the art does not show up, but on song 5 it appears, not 6, but on 7 and 8...etc. Other albums it does not show art at all, and a few it shows for the entire album. Any ideas what is going on?

I have the same problem. I just bought a 80GB Video ipod a couple of weeks ago. I have the newest version of itunes. I spent hours getting all the artwork on the itunes, synched my ipod and it all worked fine and then all of a sudden after my last synch (yesterday and after the last update) the artwork is all messed up. It displays the wrong artwork for the song and artist I pick. And when I click on the artwork (from my ipod) it shows a different album/artist artwork. This is really frustrating considering I put so much time in to make sure that all the albums had the correct artwork and that they were properly organized. Anybody have any solutions or been having the same problem?

Album art not showing on other Mac

On my iMac all the album art was present in iTunes. After matching and uploading all the songs (afterwards I deleted them and redownloaded to get the 256kbps version) everything was still ok on my iMac. However on my MacBook Pro only several cd's display album art. I can't really seem to find out why some have and why some don't have the album art, it seems to be random. On my iPhone 4 most of the album art is showing, with just a few exceptions. For this I also have no explanation.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Make sure that in iTunes on the music tab for the ipod you have a checkmark in the box saying "Show Album Artwork on Ipod" or something along those lines. If it is not checked, do so and click apply. If it is checked then uncheck it and click apply. Then recheck it and click apply. This should get the artwork on the ipod. It may take awhile depending on how many tracks you have that have artwork.

The control click and external mouse right click no longer works when copying and pasting album art within itunes. Ex. Hit get info for one song to paste to the rest, copying the artwork wont work when it used to.

Album art not showing up with recent update

With a recent iTunes update (10.2 or 10.2.1) suddenly the album art for a bunch of my music is not being detected anymore. This is album art that I've added to the files myself, and it's music not from iTunes Store. Other music of mine doesn't seem to be affected; it's only the music that I added album art myself. These songs were working just fine before the update, and still work in other programs. I'm having trouble determining specifically just what about the files is upsetting iTunes.

I'm having the same exact problem.
I've been reading up this morning on the different ways to correct this, and none of them work. Here's what I've tried:
- Manually add artwork to the album
- Advanced>Get Album Artwork
On older iTunes I'm getting the impression that you could go to your iPod/iPhone, click MUSIC, and then click something like "Allow/Enable (?) Album Artwork. Not finding it on iTunes 10.

Sync and album art problems with iPhone 3G

The other day my iPhone was sitting in the cradle syncing and I noticed iTunes (8.02) was deleting the apps from the phone. I cancelled that sync and in iTunes I saw that the "Sync Applications" checkbox was unchecked, but I hadn't unchecked it. I then rechecked the box and synced my apps back onto the phone.
Today I added some songs to a playlist and synced, but the sync time seemed suspiciously short. When I checked iTunes I saw that all of my sync content boxes were unchecked...Sync Music, Sync Videos, etc. When I check one of the boxes iTunes threatens to delete all the content presently on my phone and replace it with content from the library....which is of course the same content except for the few songs I copied into one playlist. I don't really want to sit around and wait until this stupid phone replaces 15gb of content with the same 15gb of content. Sometimes this thing acts like such a piece of junk.
Perhaps this is related, but some weeks ago I purchased a Colbie Caillat album from the ITMS. Whenever I play a song from this purchase on my iPhone it shows the album art for an Usher album I already had in my library. If I play the same song on one of my iPods, the album art is correct. Apparently some sort of corruption is afoot in either iTunes, the iPhone or both. Is there some way to get iTunes and the iPhone on the same page without having to wipe and restore this stupid phone? Thanks.

I bit the bullet and checked all the boxes and synced, and the phone did not go through with the threat to erase all my content. It just synced the one changed playlist instead. False alarm. However, the album art issue remains.

Album art problems with Vision M 30

I've tried everything to add album art to my player, but it doesn't show on the player.
I have:
- put a folder.jpg file in my existing mp3 dir and then uploaded it to the player again (even resized it to 200x200 and less than 50 Kb)
- tried album art within the id3 tags
- updated to the latest firmware: .62.02e
- used several programs such as album cover art downloader
- uploaded with media explorer
can't get it to work. It looks like I have to activate it somewhere on the player, but that can't be right...
Any help is welcome

All songs without album art work fine but the ones with (which is about 2/3 of them) seem to be causing porblems. When i start a playlist the first track doesn't play, instead he ipod tries to load the album art. As soon as the album art appears, it skips onto the next track without playing anything at all, very frustrating! when eventually a song does start playing there is a 2 second silence after the song's started while it tries to load album art again. I thought maybe it was the art itself but songs bought from itunes with the official apple artwork appear to be worse if anything!?! anyone had any similar problems/solutions?

I'm having a problem with this as well. I bought a 2G iPod Touch for my gf and after putting in some of the albums from my library, certain albums are not showing the correct album. For instance, as I put in Nelly Furtado's album, it would end up showing Ne-Yo's album cover. I checked in iTunes to make sure the correct album was in there which it was. Is this some kind of bug?
