Album art still missing in Remote with 8.1

I'm still not getting album art with the latest version of Remote (the one that came with iOS 8.1). C'mon, what's wrong?

Your comment omit a point, you focus on itunes but the Finder is involved too here. I haven't seen in your post that you mention you get the info on each mp3 or other format in the Finder, not in itunes. This can fix the thing in the Finder and if in the file info panel you don't see the cover then it's not in the mp3.
The second point I notice is that you aren't using the same manipulation to add the cover than I do. You should try like I do :
I double clic on the cover file, this opens it in the viewer. Then select all to select the picture, copy and then paste in the area where you are used to drag the file. As I already mentionned the problem is to duplicate the cover inside each mp3 of an album, but that way the cover is right into the file and the Finder or itunes or any application knows where find it in the file.
The third point I notice is that you are using ALAC but I never use that format, only mp3 and few m4a (aac). Perhaps there's specific problems with ALAC files.
About a problem from age it's more about people that use itunes to download the cover but itunes never added it in the mp3. Then the user copy the file elsewhere but without any cover. Myself I do notice that often because I buy many CD and few albums on itunes and then itunes get automatically the cover but doesn't store it in the mp3/aac. Then I copy the files on another drive where I have a more organized music and then notice the mp3 don't have anymore the cover if I haven't done the manipulation I mentionned above.
For a file named cover.something in the same folder than a track, it's not a standard allowing knows what's the cover for the mp3.

Problem opening album-art as could be done with previous iTunes versions

Issue Description:
In previous versions of iTunes you had an icon of the album-art bottom left of screen when you were playing the song. If you clicked the album-art icon it would open into its own window and you could stretch it as large as either the image dimensions allowed or as large as your monitor allowed.
I always use custom album art.
With iTunes 11, I cannot find any way of achieving the same thing. All we get at best is a 2 cm large album-art icon at best which if you click it starts the album from the beginning.
Question: Surely there is a way to achieve what was achievable with earlier iTunes versions with an ability to open and stretch the album-art so you can view it up large? If so how is it done now?
As it is, a 2cm icon of album-art is totally pointless and removes all interest in album-art. I prefer looking at album-art than the visualizer things which don't interest me. I'm probably from the old-school of vinyl records where album art was actually something to look forward to and some artists put a lot of effort into their album designs. I also put a lot of effort into custom album-art designs for personal use.
I cannot seem to find similar questions/answers on this comminity board.

Thanks for your replies. I forgot to mention about the mini-player which I had tried. But the artwork is still very limited in size. But at least a little bigger than the icon lol. I have the old 30 inch Mac monitor, so having artwork I can spread across the screen can be great. (Especially when it's my own artwork lol)
I totally agree with those views in the link you gave. Too many to repeat except that iTunes has become very cluttered. I first used iTunes in OS 9 or was it OS 8 I can't remember. I don't think it appeared until OS 9. And some files I ripped and backed up as audio files back then are unrecognisable on OSX.
VLC is a third the size but can play almost anything under the sun. XLD is only 19 MB but can "rip ('properly' without ignoring errors like iTunes does) and convert" at audiophile quality for numerous audio formats and includes LAME for mp3. Vox, great miniature app (5 MB) to play most audiio file types but lacks a proper library system for ease of browsing what you may wish to play at any moment in time. Find me an OSX audio app with a decent library system & I will probably change. ATunes a java audio app does not give me any sound lol. It has a messy library system anyway. But its ability to play FLAC and import the iTunes library was appealing.
The ol' downgrade iTunes version trick. Yeah tried that a couple of times over the years. Should have learnt the first time. Not sure iTunes' designers change the library formatting on purpose in an attempt to prevent downgrading.

No album art in off-line mode with spotify app version 1.0.0.3251

The iOS developer team is aware of the problems with album art.
Hopefully they will be fixed in the next update. Please be patient until then. I know it's annoying to wait so long.

I just upgraded my iphone spotify app to version 1.0.0.3251. With this version album art is not shown when listening in off-line mode. Extremely dissappointing, hoping this is just a bug and will be corrected soon. If not, how can i go back the the previous version of the app? My Iphone is a 3GS running the latest iOS release for that model which is 6.1.6.

How do I gain back my album art work missing from my phone?

I put a CD on my phone but then most of my alum artwork got deleted (only on my phone). How do i gain it back? Thanks

Album art work missing on new songs

I've been noticing that the album art work is missing on some of the new songs I just purchased from iTunes. I have iTunes 9 and have updated my iPod Touch software. Does anyone know what is wrong and how to fix this?

Just RIGHT click the song, and near the bottom of the drop-down menu, hit "get album artwork".

Album Art still shows on itunes but not on Nano

It is all of my songs and some are from cd's, some are from Itunes

When you connect the iPod the summary screen should automatically open.
If you click on the 'music' tab, you will see the options to:
"display album artwork on your iPod". Make sure that is enabled.

IPhone 4S iOS 5.0.1 Album cover art STILL missing

The album cover art IS in my iTunes 100% but only a few of the album covers appear in my new iPhone 4S updated to 5.0.1 and re-booted several times.

Sounds like memory leak - basically the code for an app or program is not getting the message that it needs to terminate its operation, so it continues to run in the background (even if you remove it from the multi-tasking tray when you double click the home button). This is probably preventing your iphone from entering its "idle state" or "sleep mode". This would result in your standby and usage time being almost identifical.

Hey guys, I'm having problems with my fourth generation iPod!! I attempted to download some songs from my laptop to my iPod, and my art work is now missing!!! Can someone please help me? I am totally clueless and freaking out! I dont know what todo!

I have a completely untested & unconfirmed hypothesis that "something" changed in the last iOS update with the way iTunes keeps track of which items are on the device. My guess is that it has something to do with being able to identify the same track whether on the device, in your library or in the cloud. Whatever the cause I found I needed to manually delete a bunch of albums on my iPad that were showing as dupes or without artwork which didn't get resolved by syncing. Since I deleted them and resynced it has all been fine.
Add the above to the fact that you have transferred the library in a way which duplicated it and then manually deduped and the chances are that iTunes isn't housekeeping the media properly.
Try deleting all the music from the device, by syncing with a single empty playlist for example, to see if you can clean out the media. Then add back what you want.
If all else fails backup and then restore the device.

Album art still won't show up in finder

I've seen this questions posted once before, but no one had a solution.
I've learned how to rip CD into iTunes using ALAC. I don't mess with the folders. I just let iTunes do its thing.
Once the CD is ripped, I open the list of songs, hit "select all", click "get info", click the artwork box, and drop in a jpeg.
Within iTunes, all is well. The cover art shows up.
But within finder, the thumbnails are sporadic. Sometimes I get all songs embedded with the new thumbnail. Sometimes only a few of them have the artwork, the rest have the generic iTunes artwork. And right now, my latest album has no artwork showing up all. I've also done the process three times, with no success.
Again, within iTunes, the artwork appears. In the finder window ... not so good.
Can anyone help?
Or is this a bona-fide bug that Apple has not yet fixed?

I have synced my iphone to my PC. But on my iphone 5 half my album art is missing in the "list" on the music app? It's fine when sideways but not landscape.

So on my PC all my art work is fine
On my phone when turned sideways I can see all the album artwork. But on my phone under the app Music / more/ album I can only see half the small sized album artwork.
Why? And how can I get all of it in the list.

It should have noted that the backup was complete on the backup page. Try rebooting your computer and try it again.

Album art work missing on some albums

After upgrading to Itunes 10, when I go to the view where it shows the albums and shows their tracks, for some albums it shows the artwork and for others it doesn't. To be more clear, it is the viewpoint that is the second pick from the left side, I think they call it column browser. It seems like some kind of bug because when I click on the artwork under get info it shows it is still there, but it doesn't show up for some reason when I switch back to the view or even if I try to add it back. But when I go to the view where it shows all the albums by cover only, it shows them all then. Any idea how I can fix this? Because the view point where it shows all the albums and their individual tracks is my favorite view, and this is very unappealing.

Never mind I found the setting which I needed to check that fixes it.

As previously mentioned, if you check album info by right clicking the album icon in Windows Media Player, it will update all the meta data on the file and will display everything correctly on your phone, Personally I tend to drag and drop the album cover onto the album icon in WMP as well, and all my music shows fine !!

Amazon Album Art Widget has had it with my ignorance

It's not responding, it's been a while since I use it. I relaunched it, nothing. I erased it, downloaded a new one, reinstalled it, nothing. Is anyone else experiencing this?

having the same problem... and yes, no contact info for the developer's website... it WAS an awesome widget for those files for which itunes didn't have the art work (which in my case was A LOT).

Most albums missing album art on iPod Touch after updating to iOS 7

Hi there,
I updated my 5th-gen iPod Touch to iOS 7 yesterday.
As the activation servers were overloaded for most of the afternoon, the update failed for me and my iPod touch ended up wiped and in recovery mode.
I installed a blank iOS 7 and then restored my settings from the previous day's iCloud backup.
I then reuploaded all my music from iTunes to the iPod.
Most of the album art is missing from the iPod and it's making me very sad. All the album art is visible in iTunes, so this is rather confusing. There seems to be no consistency to it, between albums I bought on iTunes or albums I bought elsewhere and ripped to MP3 and added to my iTunes library, or albums for which I got the art directly from iTunes or by adding it myself.
I'm using a PC with Windows 8 and the latest version of iTunes, if this matters.
Any ideas?

That happens sometimes
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
