Album Artwork didn't add to my library files

the albums are available in iTunes Store but I already owned the CDs and when I imported them the artwork didn't upload on several of them. The Preferences/General box for that is checked and most of the ones imported did get the cover art. How can I get the artwork onto my library files? There must be some manual way. I tried to follow the instx in Help but that didn't work either.

That is a common problem with iOS 5 and iTunes 10.5/10.6. I have not seen a solution yet.

  • ITunes album artwork screen saver possible with external library?

I just moved my iTunes library to an external drive to free up space on my MacBook, and I was wondering if there's a way to still use the album artwork screen saver when the external drive is not connected? I still have my artwork folder on my internal drive but when it is not connected, it says, "Your iTunes Library does not contain any songs with artwork." Is there a place where the screen saver info is saved? or does it only work with the library itself?

    hi,
it will only work when your library could be available.
beside, if I may suggest, it is more reliable to place your library files on your external drive along with your songs than keeping the library files on the internal drive. that way, you will avoid the issue to mistakenly open your library while your external drive isn't mounted.

  • How can I manually transfer album artwork from my library to my iPod

I downloaded album artwork to the songs in my library, and now I want to get the artwork onto the songs on my iPod classic. Problem is, I manually manage the songs on my ipod, instead of auto-syncing.... so when I hit the "sync" button in the latest version of iTunes (11.1.1.11), nothing happens. There also isn't a "show album artwork on iPod" button anymore. I'm afraid to change my settings from manual to automatic syncing, because I have lots of playlists on my iPod that aren't in my library, and I don't know if these playlists will be removed during the auto-sync. So how can I manually get the album artwork onto my iPod?
    Thanks,
    Rob

You can only backup iOS devices.
Sadly the old trick of removing all artwork and then adding it all back again no longer works. You may get some joy if you removed the specific album, then add it back again, butgenerally once things go wrong with artwork on a classic the only option is to restore it. Not a problem if all the media is in your library and you sync with a small number of selected playlists. If you don't have all the media see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

  • Album Artwork Viewer Gone from Music Library

Ok why won't itunes do this any more? I want the album artwork to show in my music library. cus the screen is so bare without it. how do we get the album artwork to show up in itunes 11?

I've got the same problem. Updated Podcast and synced b4 work. Woke up this morning and experienced the same symptoms. Playlist intact, but no music. Every music file is still there but when I try to play it an exclamtion point comes up next to the song and it states that it can't find the file. Someone please help.

  • Album artwork disappeared after an iTunes error... how can I get I back?

I've been using iTunes for years and out of a clear blue sky I get this error message, "iPhone cannot be synced because the sync session failed to start." After trying a few different things I find a fix that works- turn my iPhone all the way off and then turn it back on. Then when I added a new mp3 song to my iTunes Library and tried to sync it to my phone, the album artwork refused to show up on my phone even though it shows in iTunes. Nothing I did to fix it worked. I tried to add another mp3 song. Same problem. Then as I tried the various 'fixes' I read about here in Apple Support Communities, it made my problem worse! At first only the two new mp3 songs I added were missing album artwork. Now half of the songs I purchased from iTunes are missing album artwork! To add to that, many of the songs that have album artwork at all have the wrong artwork.
    Stuff that didn't work:
Erasing all the music on my phone and resyncing made it worse
My manually added album artwork is already ID3 tagged v2.4
I have never checked the box that converts higher bitrate songs
Manually adding artwork and using iTunes' "get album artwork" feature
    Restoring iPhone from a backup
I am using a MacBook Pro with OS X Snow Leopard version 10.6.8.
I have iOS 6.1.4 on my iPhone 5 and I have not updated anything for the past two months.
    PLEASE HELP.

    You dont have this:
Check your iTunes > Preferences... (or in Windows iTunes: Edit > Preferences...) > General tab > is Books checked?

  • Problems displaying album artwork

for some reason, my video ipod won't display some of the album artwork from itunes. it shows the downloaded song artwork and some other songs, but not others (like when i import one of my CD's and the itunes library automatically finds the album artwork). they aren't in a weird format or anything. the album artwork shows up on the itunes library and even shows up on my nano, but no the video. anybody know why or know a way to fix it?
    thanks.

How are you adding the artwork to the songs?
You should try adding the artwork to the songs in
iTunes first, not directly to the songs on the iPod
    (through iTunes).
If you add artwork directly to the iPod, the artwork
is sometimes not displayed when playing songs.
See also: My artwork is missing.
i add the artwork in itunes--not my ipod (or itunes automatically adds artwork when i upload some cds), but when i manually add the song from itunes to my ipod, it either loses the artwork (doesn't show in ipod on itunes) or it keeps it (i can see the album artwork in itunes), but does not show up on my ipod when disconnected from itunes.
i read the article u posted and i can't delete every song i manually uploaded cuz they were all manually uploaded (i have ~600 songs on it so far). i don't chose automatic because as soon as i add the songs to my ipod, i delete them from my itunes library to save space on my computer.
sometimes the artwork shows up, sometimes it doesn't. i tried to find out why some do and some don't, but i don't see a pattern.

  • Can't open itunes because of album artwork

Ok, so everytime that I try to open my itunes account, a little itunes setup assistant window pops up telling me that itunes can automatically download album artwork when I add songs to my library. It goes on in greater detail how to do it and then at the bottom of the window it says "ok" and "cancel". The problem is that the window won't let me click either of the buttons or even close the window all together. I have to pull up task manager just to close it. It has done this everytime I have tried to open itunes and I don't think it will let me get to my library until I can hit either ok or cancel. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make the window go away or work? I really am missing my music.

iTunes depends on a good QuickTime install, because it uses QT codecs for video and audio.
Does QT open OK? If not, uninstall it using Control Panel > ADd/Delete Programs. Then install the standalone version. More detail:

  • Need Album Artwork Help? READ HERE!

Hey guys, i found a recent issue with my new ipod nano, i added album artwork on every single song on my ipod nano, though it wont show! to fix this issue (= to be able to see all added album artwork) follow these steps:
    1) Make sure you add the album artwork to the songs in the library (not into playlists or an ipod)
    2) Clear all the songs from your ipod.
    3) Add all the songs again.
    4) Voila! you have all the album artwork showing on your ipod!
Fore more help, email me at [email protected]
or to google talk: [email protected]

I'm glad you brought this up. I noticed some of my artwork missing and from reading your post maybe I input the artwork while working in a playlist.
But here's a question: If I add the artwork while I'm working in the library why do I need to clear the song and then add it again?
    Just curious....

  • Slow album art import performance on new iTunes library

    Hi-
I am experiencing very slow performance when importing album artwork on a recently migrated iTunes library. First some background:
I am running iTunes 7.5.0.20 on WinXP although the exact problem I am experiencing was happening on 7.4 prior to me upgrading.
I have just added a new internal HD to my PC for additional storage. I currently have 2 iTunes libraries on my machine. My original library on the old HD and a new library on the new HD. For the time being, I have an exact copy of all my music files on both my old and new HD which the old and new iTunes libraries reference repsectively. I can toggle between the two libraries no problem by using the hold down shift key method when starting iTunes. I am planning on migrating to the new library/drive (and deleting all music off the old drive) as soon as I feel confident that everything is working correctly on the new drive.
As a side note, I like to manage my own file naming/structure so I do not have the "Keep iTunes Music Folder organized" option checked and I have not consolodated my entire music library under the iTunes folder.
    I am experiencing 2 oddities:
    1. Whenever I manually import/paste album artwork for an album on the new drive, I get 2 dialog/status boxes for each track. One that says, "Writing ID tags..." and the next says "<Track name>". It takes a good 90 seconds to add album art for 10-12 songs.
On the old drive, if I import the exact same album art for the other copy of the same album, I only get the "<Track name>" dialog box and it completes 4-5 times faster than on the new drive.
    2. Everytime I shut down iTunes on the new hard drive/library I get a "Saving iTunes Library..." dialog regardless of if I modify any tags, listen to music, or don't do anything at all.
On the old drive, I only rarely get this dialog, and only after I make obvious changes to the library.
I am really only concerned about issue #1, although my hunch is that these two issues are related. I have attempted to troubleshoot this a ton of different ways to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated.
    thanks!

Just RIGHT click the song, and near the bottom of the drop-down menu, hit "get album artwork".

  • Where did my album artworks go?

I added a new album to my iPad using my MacBook and after updating the files on the iPad, half of the albums artworks were gone in my music library in my iPad. Why and how can I get them back?

    Hello MW1192,
If you don't see your album artwork, you can get iTunes to download the artwork again by right clicking on the album and select Get Album Artwork. For more information take a look at the article below.

  • HT3951 How do I download a purchased album that doesn't show in my library but is'downloaded' on itunes?

I have a purchased album that didn't download to my library, but is marked as downloaded on itunes purchases.
How do I reset the download?

Sometimes things have inconsistent labeling.  Check your Recently Added playlist.

  • None of my album artwork was downloaded to my iPhone and iPad.

How do I get the artwork?

Hope this helps. Deselect "display album artwork," check apply. Then select "display album artwork," check apply. Depending on how many songs you have, it will take several minutes. If you have like 2400 songs, it will take 10 minutes.
I have a similar problem, except it is not with all my songs but for certain songs. I notice albums do not initially show album artwork if you add/change album artwork via the iPod. But if the album artwork is already added from the computer, mine displays just fine.
Edit: whoops, you already tried that, sorry

  • Album artwork won't display on ipod! help!

my album artwork shows up on my itunes library, but doesn't show up on my ipod. what am i doing wrong?

So you're saying you no longer have your music library in iTunes? That's pretty risky behavior. At some point, most folks end up having to Restore the iPod, which erases it. If you don't have your music in iTunes, you'll have to rip it all over again. And you'll lose anything you've purchased from the iTunes store.
And enabling "Show Album Artwork on iPod" isn't going to do any good if you no longer have your music (and artwork) in iTunes to resync with the iPod.

  • Anyone else using album artwork for a slideshow?

This is just so cool I have share it as it's own topic:
Take all your album artwork and place it into a separate directory on your PC. Then under Preferences->iPod select the directory with your artwork in it. Resync.
Now, on your iPod, all your album artwork will be under Photos->Photo Library. When you go into here, you can select an image and it will display it FULL SCREEN (no "Now Playing" stuff), on a nice black background. At this point, you can do one of two things:
    1) Scroll through all your artwork (it can scroll very quickly!). When you pause on an artwork, the backlight will turn off per your settings.
    2) Press the center button again and start a slideshow. How the slide show operates depends on your settings in Photo->Slideshow Settings. In this mode, the backlight will stay on possibly until you run out of battery. Also, the Play/Pause/FF/REW buttons control the slideshow, not the music (volume still works normally).
If you enjoy your artwork, this is the best way to view it! It would be very cool to use this method to select an album (scroll through full screen artwork, rather than a list).

I do look at my album covers through a slideshow and its cool to see how each cover looks without having to listen to the song play.
