Album artwork doesn't synch when converting higher bitrates

Hi!
This worked before so not sure if it is the new version of iTunes (10.6) or the iOS (5.1).  When I have the convert higher bitrate to 128 kbps checked, it imports the song but if the bitrate is greater than 128 kbps, the artwork doesn't get imported.
I've tested it with it checked and without and it works when you don't do the conversion.
Looks like a bug to me...anyone else run into this issue?

Hi,
Got the same issues when using the conversion to 128kbps.
Everything is fine when the bitrate is already 128 or without using the conversion.
NB : I don't have the issue with my old iPod nano when using this option, so maybe it's an iOS issue.

  • Album Artwork Doesn't Synch (classic 160GB)

Although in my iTunes album artwork is visible and coverflow preview works perfect when I copy them in my ipod the album artwork isn't visible, not always but sometimes in the same album, one song has its artwork but the next one doesn't. I mean that this behaviour doesn't have a pattern.
    Please help. Thanks in advance.
    Costas

iTunes will display artwork for the album provided at least one track has artwork. When you're playing on iPod it appears to only look at track 1 for cover flow/album view purposes and will display embedded art, if it exists, for the currently playing track, otherwise it will display the blank cover.
To find all the tracks without artwork so that you can update them you can try http://www.stum.de/itunes-find-tracks-without-artwork/ for Windows or http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/scripts13.php for Macs. If you're using Google or other FWSE to locate suitable images they should be jpg's, square, 200x200 pixels or above and ideally borderless to give the best results in the various menus.

  • When converting higher bitrate songs to 128 does it alter the music library on the pc?

I have an iPhone 5S 64 GB and an iPod Nano 6th generation 16 GB that I sync to a windows based PC. I have 15.28 GB of music on my PC. It fits nicely as is and at the higher bitrate. I would love to put all that music on my iPod. I am curious if I convert the higher bitrate to say 128, does this affect the music on my PC and on my iPhone or does it just convert the music and put it on my iPod?

The music on the PC and iPhone won't be affected.

  • Album artwork doesn't appear in itunes

I am really stuck. The album artwork doesn't appear when I am downloading my cds onto Itunes. I am on broadband so the album details download but no artwork.
I have read all the articles and I am using itunes 4.9, I have the preferences 'download album artwork' checked and still it doesn't appear in the bottom left hand box when I am copying my cd's.
    Can anyone help?

Hi I had this problem, I got round it by ripping in Windows Media Player 10 and letting it download the Album artwork.
Also when viewing the actual folder that stores your music (eg my music) go into Tolls menu, then select options then select the view tab and uncheck the option 'Hide Operating System files' This lets you view the Album Art image files
Then add the MP3 files to your library in your itunes. Once in Itunes Select all tunes in an album, right click selct get info ,then double click Artwork box and load the Album art you want.
Its a pain, but hey you only need to do it once, oh and do not uncheck the Show Album Art option in Itunes, as this may give you an Unkonown Error 50, and then it wont let you rediplay the Artwork, you have to load it all agian.

  • Album artwork doesn't show up on ipod

My album artwork doesn't show up for songs that i currently just burned off a cd. it shows up on itunes but not on my ipod

    Hey there,
Make sure that you have "Include Album Artwork" checked under the Music tab screen that you can access when you plug your iPod in. See if that helps.

  • Album artwork doesn't sync

    Hi,
A few weeks back I made a post about my Recently Added playlist not syncing in order to my iPhone and was assisted in solving the issue by ultimately removing the live sync selection. However, as of today, I have noticed that album artwork for all songs were I have manually added the album artwork does not sync with my iPhone. It is all there in the original playlist in iTunes and while all the songs sync perfectly in order with all the details I added manually, the album artwork doesn't.
Any ideas on how I can solve this WITHOUT manually pasting it to the playlist in the iPhone? Thx!

Taking off all the music and then putting it back on took care of the album art, but I'm still getting all kinds of funky behavior -- iTunes can't find the apps, then it can't find the iPod altogether, and it's adding duplicate songs somewhere.  It said it was going to load 3,232 songs, but I ended up with more than 3,400.  Weird.

  • Album Artwork doesn't show up in vertical mode but does in Coverflow

I have an iPod Touch 4g and im running the newest version of iOS, 4.3.3, and the newest version of iTunes.  Also running OS X Lion 10.7.  The album artwork doesn't show up in vertical mode but does in Coverflow.  Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Did you already try to activate the artwork visualization in iPod?

  • Before downloading the latest version of I-Tunes, I used to be able to view the ALBUM ARTWORK at bottom left when clicking on a song.   I am now unable to see the artwork.   Is it no longer possible with the updated software ??

Correct, Apple have removed that feature. However, you can still see the artwork of the song that's playing; it's shown in the Now Playing indicator at the top of the iTunes window. It is small, but if you click on it, a larger version pops up.
Also, in Albums View, you can see the album artwork.

  • Itunes "convert higher bitrate songs" not working properly

    hello,
i recently used the option "convert higher bitrate songs to 128kbps aac" to save storage space on my iphone. it worked like a charm and i saved several gigabytes.
HOWEVER, as soon as i sync my iphone again, it starts to reencode approx. 60 tracks again! it takes a while of course and after that, the tracks are converted and on my iphone (i checked it). if i sync again it will reencode again the very same tracks (and delete them before from my iphone). this is really annoying because it costs time and cpu usage.
i didnt changed those files, i checked the date when they were changed, and they werent changend at all this month!
does anyone have an idea? i really like this option, but if it means that i have to convert 60tracks everytime i sync my iphone, i will have to disable it...
    regards

I am seeing this artwork bug too, on my nano. It seems to be tied to the 128 kbps songs, but I can't pinpoint exactly what makes it happens.
All I know is, now that I'm using the 128 conversion, I have to reset my nano at least once per day to get artwork back. It also seems to be tied to coming out of pause or hold. After I've paused music and come back later, the artwork shows a white box. But not all the time, so I wonder if it's only when I pause a song that has lyrics.

  • Cannot Find File - Convert higher bitrate songs to 128kb AAC on an iPhone??

I ran out of room on my iPhone 3G, so I checked the "Convert higher bitrate songs to 128kb AAC" option. I had already made an 'iPhone' playlist as the only playlist synched with iTunes, and the playlist reduced its iPhone footprint by roughly 25%. It worked well except for several songs that "could not be found" by iTunes. These are all songs for which I have the CD, and play perfectly in iTunes (and on the iPhone before the conversion).
I have tried deleting the songs from my 'iPhone' playlist, iTunes, and my hard drive and reinstalling from the CD (first to iTunes then to the iPhone playlist) - ALL with reboots and permission repairs between reinstalls. These 13 songs seem to be impossible to convert, despite several other songs from the same CDs converting perfectly!!!
After each attempt, iTunes goes through and re-evaluates the gaps, which takes time. This is not a problem, I just note it for diagnostic purposes.
How do I resolve this perplexing and vexing conversion problem? The songs ARE on the hard drive, and iTunes CAN find them (because they play in other playlists and played before the conversion) they just do not seem to convert.
    Help!

Everything is up to date, except for the security patch released yesterday. That is on the list for a 'today task' but I have not gotten to it yet.

  • Convert higher bitrate songs options stops iPod update

Hello, This is my first post so apologies if this is old news. I had my iPod shuffle set to convert higher bitrates to AAC (in an effort to pack more songs on). However, with this option set my iTunes was extremely slow (10-15 minutes a song) to update my iPod if it was anything but the foreground application. It was slower as a foreground app but nothing like what happened if it was a background app. I did a bit of testing and it turns out if I turn off the "Convert" option everything proceeded very quickly. Is there a setting in Windows XP that could help with this or is this a known issue?

did a bit of testing and it turns out if I turn off the "Convert" option everything proceeded very quickly
Because it is simply loading the iPod, not converting it and then loading it.
Is there a setting in Windows XP that could help with this or is this a known issue?
There is nothing to "help" with nor is it an "issue".
The only way to "help" with it is to get a faster computer, bit will still be slower than not converting.
If you songs are already 128 kps, turn this option off as there is nothing to convert to.
If they are higher bit rates and you do not want to wait, turn this option off. However, you will get less songs on the iPod.

  • Get Album Artwork doesn't load- the bar stays at zero.

When I secondary click, and select 'get album artwork', the bar at the top says 'proccessing album artwork' but the progress bar stays at zero. I've left it for almost ten minutes and it doesn't move at all. I restarted my computer and it doesn't help. I am connected to the internet, and the album exists in iTunes. Also, to be clear, I know that I can copy and paste or drag from the internet, but its much easier to just use the 'get album artwork' function. Help, please?

So if the album isn't available in the iTunes store, it's not recognized? That's ridiculous. That's like saying if I don't buy through iTunes, I shouldn't use iTunes to sync my music to my iPod. That sounds like Apple again following only wherever the dollar goes.
Windows Media Player uses All Music Guide, which stores everything whether you can buy it through anybody or not. Apple makes great devices, but they're continually pushing me away from them because they put the almighty dollar first and me second. Hopefully Google will integrate their online music service and I won't have to worry about whether an album I can buy just about anywhere won't be recognized by Apple's proprietary dollar-munching service.

  • Album artwork does not change when switching tv seasons

With the new iTunes 11, television seasons are now grouped together.  When switching the view from one season to the next, the artwork doesn't change, it remains on the first season.  Is there a way to fix this so that the proper artwork is displayed for the proper season?

This manual process DOES work to add and save my album artwork. Unfortunately, this is a long process for over 9,000 songs.
I do not have an Album Artwork folder, but I do have an unknown Album Artwork file, not folder, any thoughts on this? One thing to consider for my situation is two things:
    1. To separate my music files from my regular files, I keep my music files on the D:, away from my Itunes folder on my C:
    2. To conserve space, I do not allow Itunes to make a copy of my files on my C:
Could either or both of these issues be the source of my problem? Should I remove Itunes and it's contents and reload the software and start from scratch?

  • Album Artwork doesn't show in my iPod

    Hi everyone!
I've seen a lot of people have problems with photos... but what about Album Artwork??!!
I've got a lot of album artwork associated to my songs in iPod photo but only a few of them are shown and I don't know why... I've tried everything except formatting (and this solution is quite annoyin you know). Can anyone help me?
And... one thing more: does anybody know how to erase album artwork images of the songs in iPod or iTunes? if I can't solve the problem... I just wil erase every album artwork and re-attach the album artwork again, but this solution it's soo annoying (yes, again)...
    Please, help me... thanks!

First, create a new folder on your pc - I created one in my MY MUSIC folder and named it Album Covers. Nest, open your iTunes Library and reduce its size on the screen. Then open up Internet Explorer and go to Amazon.com. Reduce the size of that screen so that you can view both your iTunes Library and the Amazon website.
Once in Amazon, go to the music tab and then type in the name of the cd's in your iTunes library. When the cd cover comes up in Amazon, doubleclick it to view it in its own window, then right click the image and save it as the name of the cd in the album covers folder that you created. Once you have saved all of the album covers, close the internet explorer window and open the Album cover folder. Again, minimize its size so that you can see both your iTunes Library and the Album Covers folder.
Next, highlight all the songs in your iTunes library that correspond to a particular cd and then click and drag the album cover from the Album Covers folder to the album art box on the lower left corner of your iTunes Source window. The album art should appear in that box and it will appear on your iPod as well. Make sure to highlight all of the songs from each respective cd so that you don't have to click and drag the album cover for every song -- this will speed up the process tremendously.
    Good luck!

  • HT1473 Can no longer see the album artwork I had added when I downloaded my cd. Help!

I havde lots of cds I downloaded to itunes. I added the album artwork manually. I decided to creat an additional library for my holiday cds. I followed the instructions, hit **** when itunes started, created a new library, then changed to that library. All was fine. I decided to download the Christmas albums later. I restarted Itunes and switched back to my original library when I have over 3000 abums and noticed that all of the albums I had downloaded no longer have the album art that I manually added. What happened and please someone tell me how I access the info. I really don't want to have to do it all over again, and will this happen if I change librarys again.
    Thanks

Connect your phone to computer, and sync like this. Check the boxes for the playlists, artists, albums you want to sync. Then click Apply. If you have enough space on your phone, you can choose Entire music library.
