Album artwork placeholder for podcast page

I think when creating my podcast page that I accidently deleted the original placeholder for the album artwork. Since I have 2 episodes already posted and uploaded to Mobile Me I didn't want to recreate a whole new podcast page... So I added a new podcast page, then copied and pasted it's placeholder into my original podcast page, then deleted the new podcast page. That didn't work. When I try to submit to iTunes, instead of showing the artwork, it shows a big question mark.
Is there any way to fix this or do I just need to recreate the page from the ground up?
Any tips much appreciated... Thanks!

Here's my e-mail reply to a similar question I recieved this week:
I tried to see what happened. It turns out that pasting a new image from a other blog does not replace the preview.
So we have to cheat.
Create a new blog article and give it the same date & time. In the blog summary double click the date of the line at the top. First of the old article to see the time/date stamp and then the new one to change the date.
Then copy paste the text from the old article to the new one.
If you have the image, drop it on the placeholder. If not, got to your blog on the web and drop the image from the webpage on top of the iWeb page.
You now have a new blog entry. Delete the old entry. You will loose any comments.
When commenters ask what happended to their comment, make up an excuse. Blame the MobileMe transition
Hope that works for your too.

  • ITunes Store does not show author and "album artwork" of my podcast

Although all information is available - the itunes store does not mention the author and "album artwork" of my podcast - if podcast is downloaded, album artwork is shown...
How can I add the informatin (especially that author is not "unknown" anymore)
    http://itunes.apple.com/de/podcast/nie-mehr-schuchtern-der-podcast/id404201576?i =88951302

For reference, you feed is at http://kontaktvoll.de/tinc?key=r5FOIixD
This is not a valid podcast feed for iTunes. It's missing the 'itunes declaration' in the second line. The top two lines of your feed should read as follows:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <rss xmlns:itunes="http://www.itunes.com/dtds/podcast-1.0.dtd" version="2.0">
Without that, iTunes cannot read the 'itunes' tags which are necessary to carry some of the information, and which in any case are missing from your feed. The author name is carried in the 'itunes:author' tag and the image in the 'itunes:image' tag.
This page contains a basic sample feed so you can see what it should look like and how these tags are formed:
    http://www.wilmut.org.uk/pc
If you are hand-writing this feed it's a good idea to put returns in after each closing tag, as in the sample. At the moment most of your feed is on one line and this makes it very difficult to read when looking for problems, particularly as you add more episodes.

  • Can the album artwork placeholder be removed?

I use no album artwork for the tracks on my iTunes and, by extension, on my iPod. So the entire screen of my previous iPod, a 5th gen model, was available to display the title, album, and artist. The screen of my current iPod, a 6th gen late-2009 (160GB) model (sometimes  referred to  as 7th gen), displays an album artwork placeholder that cuts the screen real estate in half, severely truncating the displayed track (especially, for my collection, album name) information. Is there a display setting, or any other procedure, that will remove that placeholder so that the whole screen will be available to display track information as in the previous model?

    (Well, that was easy. Heh.)
Yep, I was afraid that was likely the case. Thanks.

  • When will Apple resolve the lost album artwork saga for Mac/Windows Users?

    Hello,
I'm running Windows XP, although this problem appears to be both OS- and platform-independent. I've read several forums within and outside the Apple Support site that describe issues around lost album artwork.
In a nutshell, iTunes loses artwork that was manually obtained/added (and also iTunes-downloaded). I know I can right-click lost albums for downloaded music, but this is annoying because I have thousands of albums (or single songs from albums) and I don't want to constantly reload the information. It's even more aggravating because a large portion of my music collection consists of rare albums, and it's not unusual for me to spend significant time finding a single cover.
I've tried some tips described in the forums, but it really comes down to users asking: Can Apple please acknowledge that this is a broad v8.x.x issue and commit to resolving it in an official release?
Artwork coverflow-style viewing is a huge part of the music experience to me. I LOVE iTunes, but not if using it means that I'll constantly be frustrated and worried about data loss. I'm loyal to iTunes and don't want to leave, but I'm already looking at other players.
Apple - We're begging you. Can you please fix this?
    Thanks
    -B

Hello ! This is a user chat board - you can provide feedback to Apple via itunes menu > Help > Provide iTunes Feedback.
My artwork doesn't get lost, so I wonder what is different on your PC? I've embedded the artwork in the MP3 tags, and they are ID3 v2.3.
You might check your Windows Media Player settings. The default settings get info from the internet and can change things without you ever 'running' WMP. Then the next time you look at a file in iTunes, it is changed - so it seems iTunes did it.
It's in 3 places in WMP - general, privacy, and library tabs.
If you are talking about itunes store downloaded artwork going missing, that's a different matter. I think not, since you mentioned rare albums - presumably not sold in iTS, so therefore not downloaded from iTS.

  • Fix the Album Artwork Glitch (for version 5.01) Please!

I have seen quite a few people post this problem, with no satisfactory answer from Apple or other members:
I have 2000 songs in my library, and have painstakenly loaded each one with album information, so as songs are played, their album cover shows. This worked perfectly with version 5.0. Now that I have "upgraded", the only art work that is shown is for purchased music. All of my art work is shown when I hit "Selected Song", but for "Now Playing", all I get is "Album Art work Not Modifiable" for all formats, including AIFF audio.
PLEASE FIX! I wouldn't have "upgraded" if I knew this was going to happen. I spent weeks finding all of this art work.

Agree completely. I pretty much had a panic attack when I thought I'd lost my artwork. I painstakingly scanned all my CD covers in (internal leaves as well as the cover itself) so this is a big, big deal for me. If ANYONE OUT THERE knows of a fix, please post! And Apple – how on earth did this slip through beta-testing? It's a pretty obvious glitch.

  • Album artwork feature for .wav files inexplicably removed from iTunes.

Hello, I was wondering if Apple would please allow us to display artwork in iTunes for albums that contain .wav files.  Waves just sound better to me. I remember back in 2004 or so this feature was available in iTunes, nearly a decade ago, but now it has been inexplicably removed.  I am not interested in compromising the sound quality of the .wav file by converting them to compressed formats, Apple lossless, or even Apple's rival to the .wav file. Thank you.

I don't think .wav format has ever supported artwork.  It is possible (I don't have any wav format files) I guess  if it is added to iTunes that iTunes can add artwork for it in its own database, but wav does not support tags or artwork embedding.

  • Best album artwork resolution for iPod touch?

    Hi all
While I'm anxiously awating for my touch to arrive, I've been trying to fill in the missing album art of my music. I'd like to know what's the best resolution to get them displayed on the touch. I don't want to put huge artwork into my iPod so it doesn't take up too much space, but I don't want it to be so small that I can't properly enjoy it.
I really don't care about how the artwork looks like on iTunes, I just care about how it looks like on the touch.
    What do you guys think?
    Cheers
    Daniel

Personally, I find that 500x500px looks great on my 1920x1200 display AND my iPods, including the touch. This way, the album art looks perfect on both.
I find most of my good-quality artwork at Amazon.com of all places. What they don't have (and it is not much), I find by searching in Google and then by clicking on "images" at the top. Narrow it down further by selecting "Medium" or "Large" in the "Images: Showing" drop-down box. FYI, make sure to get a photo that is a perfect square when possible; it is a personal pet-peeve of mine to be flipping through Cover Flow and seeing misshapen album covers...I replace them immediately.

  • Artwork file for podcast

Where do you set the artwork in an xml/rss file to reference an artwork file? I use GB3 and iWeb but I still have not figured out where I can do this. I also cannot figure out what app to edit those files with. Now when I submit to iTunes the default podcast icon shows up.

    Hi,
When you start your Garageband project as a Podcast, the top track will be a Podcast Track. Drop your artwork into this track. This creates chapter marks with which you can work. In iTunes' directory, your main graphic will always be the one that displays in your listing. It won't change. But as you play the podcast in iTunes, the artwork that you've put in the Podcast Track will display in the media window.
    Hope this helps,
    Ant B

  • Worthy Album Artwork Screensaver for Leopard?

Hi, I recently upgraded my macbook to leopard and was unhappy to see that the artwork tower used in a tech demo for Leopard a while ago wasn't included in the final build.
Instead apple inserted a lackluster 2D artwork flipping screen saver that many (including me) see in pink unless we reduce the amount of rows in it. Come on apple! release the itunes tower and show leopards capabilities! Anyone else agree?
If its also so simple to write, why hasn't someone smacked it together in core animation?

Yes, I too was disappointed to see this screen saver was not included in the final product.

  • IWeb crashes when I click on 'entries' for Podcasting page

I saw someone ask this before, but there was no answer or reply.  I have tried deleting the pref file, but it still crashes.  It just shows a blank page and then the whole program crashes.  Any suggestions?

Try deleting iWeb's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder.

  • Getting Album Artwork for songs NOT in iTunes and ONLY on iPod

    Hello
Am I missing something obvious here? I am struggling with the album artwork feature for use in the coverflow section of the iPod Classic 80GB. I do NOT keep all of my songs in iTunes as my laptop hard drive is just not big enough.
My problem is that highlighting the songs on my iPod once I've connected it to iTunes then selecting Get Album Artwork simply doesn't work. Only trawling through countless forums on various websites I've discovered that possibly the artwork is only updated for songs you have in the iTunes library or only for songs bought on iTunes. I have 1000s of CDs I've uploaded onto my iPod (surely lots of people do not keep their music in iTunes for the same reason as me - small hard drive?)
There MUST be a software fix for this problem that could be issued out? Or if not, somebody should come up with a fix on an independent website. By the way, all of my tracks on the iPod have had their info obtained from the Gracenotes system used through iTunes so not having matching info to iTunes cannot be a reason for the lack of artwork can it?
I'd love to hear a solution to this problem.
    Thanks

My problem is that highlighting the songs on my iPod once I've connected it to iTunes then selecting Get Album Artwork simply doesn't work.
Correct. It's meant to access your iTunes library and add artwork from the iTunes store.
There MUST be a software fix for this problem that could be issued out?
Nothing that I know of because it's meant to work this way.
By the way, all of my tracks on the iPod have had their info obtained from the Gracenotes system used through iTunes so not having matching info to iTunes cannot be a reason for the lack of artwork can it?
No, because as I say, it's meant to add artwork in the iTunes library (although even this can sometimes be an issue if the album info obtained from Gracenote doesn't match what's in the iTunes store.)
If an iPod is set to manage the songs manually, then it's possible to add the artwork to the songs directly onto the iPod (when looking at them through iTunes) without adding it to the songs in iTunes. Just copy paste an album image from (say) Amazon into the artwork box in the bottom left corner when looking at the songs on your iPod through iTunes.
However, I have found that if you are adding artwork directly to the iPod via iTunes and not to songs in the library first of all, then some (or all) artwork may not display correctly.

  • Album artwork errors

I've downloaded hundreds of album artworks into my i-pod - some I saved onto my hard drive, others i just dragged from Amazon, Goggle etc.
All was fine at first, however, now when I play my ipod much of the artwork shown doesn't correspond with the correct track/album. Indeed, for some tracks, the wrong artwork shows on the 'top' screen and a different piece of artwork shows when I click the centre wheel twice to use the full screen to display the artwork.
Any ideas why this happens and how I can correct it?
    Many thanks.

    Worked it out now.
    1. Dock ipod in PC.
    2. Click furthest left button in bottom right hand corner. If placing the cursor over the button it states 'Display ipod options'.
    3. Unclick 'Diaply Album artwork' within the ipod page.
    4. Remove ipod then redock.
    5. Click same button and click artwork back on.
    6. Artwork then resyncs.
It worked for me (from what i can tell so far).

  • Downloading album artwork-- free?

I see that there is an option to get album artwork on the itunes page. Would I be charged to download the artwork or do charges only apply to songs and videos?

Generally it only downloads the artwork for songs you purchased thru the Apple Store. Most times when you use iTunes to rip a CD, it will include the artwork. If not, or if you have files that were ripped by another program or for some reason don't include the art, go to Amazon.com and find the CD and click on it. The display will include the album art. RIGHT click on the album cover and click COPY, which will copy the jpg to your clipboard.
Then go back to iTunes and paste the artwork.
