Album artwork screensaver screwed up my settings.

alright a while back i put my screensaver as itunes album artwork. this has caused me some problems. the first is that every time i open my screen saver settings it just closes so i get this error message and i click reopen and it reopens i click on screensaver and it closes again and another error message comes up. i click try again and the screensaver menu comes up the third time and it stays open so i can change the settings, the only thing is the setting never change when i try to change them. i try to change the screensaver and i test it and everything then i close the settings window and this message comes up asking me if i want to use the new settings or the old ones. i click the new settings button, but the setting don't change, so i can't get my screensaver off of itunes artwork. i don't know why this is happening or what i can do. i need help!
thanks

  • Album Artwork Screensaver gone??

I just upgraded from a 1st Gen Apple TV to the new 2nd Gen Apple TV and it now appears that my favourite screensaver is gone.
Anyone know if it's possible to get the Album Artwork Screensaver back? I really like that when my Apple TV was idle or even when playing long playlists at get togethers, etc.
    Thanks!
    J.

    SOLVED!
    1. Using the AppleScript found at:
    http://automatorworld.com/archives/export-itunes-artwork-2/
You can export all your iTunes artwork as image files to a folder of your choice
    2. Import them into iPhoto and name the event Album Art or whatever you please
    3. Open iTunes and navigate to [Advanced > Choose Photos To Share] and leave iTunes open, as Apple TV will need to sync photos with it
    4. Select the Album Art (or whatever you named it) event with all your album art in it, and click Apply
    5. On your Apple TV 2, navigate to [Settings > Screen Saver > Photos > [Your name]'s Library] and choose to use the photos from your Album Art event.
    6. Apple TV will copy these photos across to itself so the screen saver will work even when the computer is off/asleep
    7. You now have your album artwork screen saver back!!

  • ITunes Album Artwork Screensaver Only Showing 3 Album Covers

I'm trying to use the album artwork screensaver but when it comes on it only shows three repeating album covers, all of which from CDs I downloaded myself and not from the iTunes store. How do I get all my album artwork to show?
I tried FILE > LIBRARY > GET ALBUM ARTWORK and holding down option while clicking the itunes icon and selecting my iTunes library.

    Hi,
so this work's for me. Just recreate all the iTunes stuff. I did it like this:
    - Go to - Music / iTunes / iTunes Media and backup the Music and Mobile App folders
    - Delete everyting in the folder iTunes
Then just open the iTunes and add all the music from the Music folder to the library back again. This will recreate all the library files and folders in the iTunes folder.
    Then try the screen saver.
    Hope it helps.

  • How do I get my iTunes Album Artwork Screensaver to work again?

  • ITunes Album Artwork Screensaver Locked

I can't change to any other screensaver except the album artwork. Every time I try it closes the program or just doesn't change.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

A similar issue is often caused by a plist file which is corrupt or contains an invalid setting. To fix this issue, create a new folder on the desktop and then choose Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu. Enter ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/ as the folder's path and drag everything with a name containing com.apple.screensaver to the folder on the desktop. If the issue persists, return to the ByHost folder, press the Command and Up keys simultaneously, and then move the file named com.apple.desktop.plist to the folder you created earlier. If everything works properly with both files in the folder you created, it is safe to throw it away.

  • Worthy Album Artwork Screensaver for Leopard?

Hi, I recently upgraded my macbook to leopard and was unhappy to see that the artwork tower used in a tech demo for Leopard a while ago wasn't included in the final build.
Instead apple inserted a lackluster 2D artwork flipping screen saver that many (including me) see in pink unless we reduce the amount of rows in it. Come on apple! release the itunes tower and show leopards capabilities! Anyone else agree?
If its also so simple to write, why hasn't someone smacked it together in core animation?

Yes, I too was disappointed to see this screen saver was not included in the final product.

  • ITunes album art screensaver no longer works

My screensaver suddenly no longer displays the iTunes album artwork library.
Instead it's a black screen saying "Your iTunes Library does not contain any songs with artwork.
What happened here? Album artwork shows up fine in iTunes and the screensaver used to work just fine...

Update: I downgraded back to iTunes 8 - and the album artwork screensaver is finally back!
I also missed the photo album sorting feature with non-iPhoto photo syncing,
so for now the iTunes downgrade works for me ...
Hoping Apple will fix some of these issues with one of the next updates!

  • ITunes artwork screensaver not working

Since upgrading to mountain lion, the iTunes artwork screensaver does not work. I get a black screen with the words "your iTunes library doesn't contain any artwork" or something similar. What am I doing wrong?
    Tom

Here's how I solved the problem:
    1.  Go into finder (or windows explorer).
    2.  Find the Album Artwork file within your itunes file (usually "computer name/music/itunes/album artwork")  I noticed that I had 3 files, "cache," "cloud," and "download."  The Cloud file was empty.  But the cache file and download file had the exact same information.
    3.  Open the cache file.  That should reveal a file that is identical to the file that is revealed if you open the Download file.  On my system that file was "5C376133A78DCCBE" (may be different on your system, I don't know)
    4.  Right click your mouse over the 5C376133A78DCCBE file and select copy.
    5.  Go back to the Album Artwork file and open the Download file.
    6.  Right click your mouse over the 5C376133A78DCCBE and select paste.  Let it overwrite/replace the 5C376133A78DCCBE file with the same 5C376133A78DCCBE file.
    7.  Go back to Album Artwork, right click the Cache file, and select "move to trash"
    8.  Quit iTunes (if you had it open).
    9.  Hold down the option key and reopen itunes.
    10. Select "choose library"
    11. Go "computer name/music/iTunes" and select the "iTunes Library.iti" file.
    12. If you see iTunes importing the album artwork, you've done it right.
    13. Test the iTunes Album Artwork screensaver and hopefully it works for you like it did for me!

  • Album Art screensaver won't work w/iTunes 9

I just updated to iTunes 9 and now my screensaver won't work. I use the standard Apple iTunes artwork screensaver. It say "You're iTunes library does not contain any songs with artwork". Any ideas? I closed iTunes, reopened it, restarted it. Obviously all my songs and artwork are still here.

    Hi,
I was having the same problem and think I have a solution. Our iTunes folder is in our shared folder not in the original music folder.
My wife was charging her iPod and left the computer running when I noticed the album artwork screensaver displaying proudly. On a hunch I compared our iTunes folders in our Music Folder (~/music/itunes) and noticed I had an extra "iTunes music" folder within. Since my music is stored elsewhere it was empty. I believe the screen saver was searching this empty folder for artwork. I moved it to the trash and started the screen saver preference and lo and behold it now works.
Please check the folder for content before deleting it. For me it was empty. My daughter had the same issues also and trashing this file worked.
    All the best,
    Shaun.

  • Combine iTunes Artwork screensaver w/ iPhoto pictures screensaver?

I've been trying to find a way to combine the iPhoto screensaver with the iTunes album artwork screensaver. So my iPhoto pictures would fling onto the screen, but when a new song played, I'd get the album artwork for that song flipped out as a picture....anyone have a clue as to how I could do this? I thought Automator might be the way to go

Thanks for the suggestion. I already had "put hd to sleep" unchecked and "put computer to sleep" at never, but I tried unchecking the reduce brightness box, and that didn't change the problem.

  • ITunes 9 messed up my artwork screensaver...

The iTunes Artwork screensaver suddenly stopped working ever since I updated iTunes to version 9. Now, strangely it just says "Your iTunes library does not contain any songs with artwork." I've tried switching to a different screensaver and back, and also grabbing artwork from the iTunes store, but neither fixes my problem. Anybody got a solution for this?
I want to avoid installing Pacifist if at all possible.
(I'm on Snow Leopard...updating to 10.6.1 didn't fix the problem.)

Nevermind, I found the solution in another thread. Thanks to Shauny who posted this:

    Works for me!

  • ITunes Artwork Screensaver displays only one album at a time...

...and it changes every time I shut down the computer. I have a lot of album art, how come it only chooses to show one album? Nothing changes if I change the number of rows.
Before, System Prefs used to quit unexpectedly but then I did that plist thing and now it's better but not what the iTunes Album Artwork should be.
I don't know if this will matter but most of my artwork comes from drag and drop (google images) and sometimes it's imbedded (purchased from the itunes store).

First: what settings is the screensaver set at?
2: How is the files saved: on an external or the internal drive?
3: If it is internal: make an alias of the main iTunes folder and point the library for the new account to their in preferences.
3b: If it is external: make sure hard drive is on, open itunes on second account.
Also: Make sure after every update to go into disk utility and repair permissions.

  • ITunes Match music not updating on iPhone 4 - all settings "correct", but all playlists and many songs, artists, albums, artwork missing

I'm having a maddening problem with iTunes Match on my iPhone 4. I have the following settings established on the phone:
Settings > iCloud > Account: properly logged in to the correct, main account
Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup: On
Settings > Music > iTunes Match: On
Settings > Music > Show All Music: On
Settings > Store: Logged into the same correct, main account as above
Settings > Store > Automatic Downloads > Music: On
On my laptop - the computer I use to primarily manage my iTunes music collection - when I "Update iTunes Match", all but three songs are listed as "Matched", "Uploaded". or "Purchased", and I'm correctly told that "12,277 songs are now available in iCloud".
But over the past week or so, music has been disappearing from my iPhone 4. When I go under Music > Playlists, none of my Playlists are showing. When I go under Music > Songs, it only lists 240 of the 12,277 tracks that are supposedly available in iCloud. Only 126 of around 1300 artists are listed. I have meticulously collected/scanned album artwork for literally every song in my collection, but a ton of it is missing on even the few tracks that do show up on my iPhone, and on and on and on.
I've been trying switching settings on and off, logging out and back in, waiting minutes, hours, or even days between attempts, running a restore to previous backup for the whole phone, etc. But after days of frustration and time wasted - nothing. And the real kicker is that the whole music collection IS showing up just fine on my wife's iPhone 4 - it just won't work on mine, and it's mostly my music to begin with!
So why won't my music collection show up on my iPhone 4? What do I do to fix this? How is this worth the money I paid for the Match service?

Thanks to kirbyfromtrenton, I have tracked down at least a partial fix for this problem:
1 - Turn off iTunes match in iTunes.
2 - Turn off iTunes match on the iPhone.
3 - Close iTunes and reopen.
    4 - Connect your iPhone.
5 - Go into your music folder for the iPhone and delete all the songs.
6 - Turn back on iTunes match in iTunes
7 - Turn back on iTunes match on the iPhone
All of my music is available once again, although I'm still not seeing my playlists or artwork. That could be because I'm overseas right now with a slow wi-fi connection though.

  • ITunes 10 Album Artwork Not Showing Up In Screen Saver

After installing iTunes 10, my screen saver settings (which used to pull from my iTunes Album Artwork) are no longer working. The screen saver option now says "Your iTunes Library does not contain any songs with artwork" yet it does. The screen saver option is no longer finding it. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thank you.

    I have exactly the same.
Screensaver settings says: "Your iTunes library does not contain any songs with artwork" which is simply lie! ;-)
almost all albums covers are there in my main library.
    newest iTunes 10.5.3 (3) 64-bit
    Lion with all add-ons
not long ago I have joined iTunes Match.. unfortunately haven't checked if it works before for long time..
I have: repaired permissions, removed com.apple.screensaver. iTunesArtwork* in ~Library/Preferences/ByHost/.
    Still nothing.
I have found that ~/Music/iTunes/Album Artwork/ has 4 directories inside:
    Cache
    Cloud
    Download
    Local
.. first 3 had random named dir (the same) with what seems to be artworks directories. Local was empty still copying there this random dir didn't help too..
    Any ideas please?
