Album artwork won't can't sync

this is a new ipod
which when i try to sync come's up with the message "cannot sync. file cannot be found."
but if i tell the ipod not to transfer album artwork it will sync no problem.
ovbviously i want the artwork though.
i've done the following;
1. restored ipod
2. re-installed itunes
3. deleted my photo cache
4. made sure there are no other usb devices plugged in
5. ran the regsvr32 file
i've also tried updating the driver but it says it can't find anything
please help

left click on your song
then it comes up with all it's info
on the far right it has artwork
find the artwork on the internet then copy and paste it there

Some album artwork won't display on iPod Classic

I've had a strange problem recently with my new iPod Classic(and, come to think of it, my 2nd gen. iPod Nano): certain album artwork won't properly display, but will instead show up as a black square(like the 5th Metallica album, or the Spinal Tap album...). Sometimes, this happens only with certain songs on an album. For instance, I purchased 2 songs from the album "Employment" by Kaiser Chiefs last year. Recently, I purchased the CD, and I imported it to my computer. I chose "get album artwork" so the album cover would display for the newly imported songs, as well as the 2 I already bought. Now, the 2 songs I bought last year display their artwork normally, but the newly imported tracks just display the black square.
What's going on, and how can I fix it?

in iTunes, choose to not *display Album Artwork on your iPod*, then sync your iPod, then change it back to display album artwork and sync again. I believe that will fix it.

Some album artwork won't display on iPad

Hi guys,
Some of the song's album artwork won't display on my iPad or iPhone but shows up against each song in the album on iTunes on my Mac. There are entire albums' artwork not showing, yet when I open and play the same song in iTunes on my mac, it's there.
Any ideas?

in iTunes, choose to not *display Album Artwork on your iPod*, then sync your iPod, then change it back to display album artwork and sync again. I believe that will fix it.

Album artwork shows up on my computer, but when I execute a sync, it does not show up on my iphone

Album Artwork won't show on iPod Touch

I am running iTunes 10.6.3.25 on my Windows Vista laptop and iOS 5.1.1 on my iPod touch. I have transferred some new albums to the iPod and the album artwork don't show on the iPod. It does show up in iTunes and if I look on my iPod through iTunes, I see the artwork when I "get info" but it won't show up on the iPod itself. Anyone out there having the same problem?

I have had this problem since iOS4 and I recently (mostly) resolved it in iOS6.
1. First make sure you do not 'Sign In' into iTunes store.
2. I used playlists to resolve the issue. Create a playlist with one song, preferably one that does not have any album art.
3. Create another playlist with all the songs you want to add.
4. With your iTouch/iPhone attached open iTunes. Go to Device->Music. Under Sync Music:choose "Selected playlists,albums and genres". Choose the one song playlist from those shown. Click on the Sync(Apply) button. This will delete all of the songs.
5. Once the deletion is complete choose the playlist with all the songs. Click on the Apply(Sync)button. This will install all the songs again and with album artwork.
6. Once all the songs have been installed click on all the playlists that you want to add (no new songs) and click on the Sync(Apply) button again.
You should now have your songs with album artwork and playlists installed. Hope this helps. The song in the one song playlist won't have any artwork even if it is included. There were some albums whose artwork were not installed. I had a 95% success rate. As I said, it mostly solves the problem for me.

Get Album Artwork won't work

Does anyone have any tips on how to get this feature to ever work right?
I recently just bought Hot Sauce Committee Part Two by Beastie Boys on CD. I import the CD into iTunes. Then i shift click on all the songs and right click and go to 'Get Album Artwork' and it tells me 'Could Not Get Album Artwork For Some Albums'
I have no idea what to do. When i imported the CD it imported it with the same exact spelling and spacing for the artist name and album title on itunes. But it acts like iTunes has never heard of this album. I can't update my Genius thing to be able to generate a genius playlist using any song from this CD either.
It's almost like iTunes won't accept or acknowledge any music that was not bought through the iTunes store.
please, does anyone have any clue on how to get itunes to act like this cd exists so i can make itunes get album artwork for it and allow it to be used for genius playlists?

iTunes will only place artwork for albums that are offered in the iTunes Store. Be it the song lengths or order or who knows what, it doesn't see it as matching.
This will have no effect on Genius Playlists. I have songs without album info or cover in my Genius results.

Embedded Art Shows Fine - "Get Album Artwork" Won't Transfer

I have a MacBook Pro with OS 10.4.11, and iPod Classic v1.1.1, and I'm having a problem:
Any artwork that I retrieved using iTunes' "Get Album Artwork" option DOES NOT show up on my iPod. All the artwork I manually retrieved from Google (copy & pasted) shows fine.
I'm told that copying and pasting artwork embeds the image file right into the mp3 file itself. The artwork that iTunes retrieves is NOT stored in each mp3 file, but rather in its own separate database. Somehow that database doesn't seem to be transferring to the iPod.
Anyone else having this problem? Any way to let Apple know directly?

*How to find tracks without artwork*
To find all the tracks without embedded artwork so that you can update them you can try http://www.stum.de/itunes-find-tracks-without-artwork/ for Windows or http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/scripts13.php for Macs. Use Google, Amazon, Discogs etc. to locate relevant jpeg images. Ideally these should be square, 320x320 pixels or above and borderless to give the best results in the various menus. If you have artwork for some tracks of an album, but not others, select a track with artwork, right-click (Option-Click for Macs) on the art & click copy, then select all the tracks of the abum, use CTRL-I or Option-I to *Get Info* and then paste the image into the artwork box. This should also let you embed iTMS downloaded artwork.
I don't know how well these tools work with a manually-managed iPod since I maintain my full library on an external drive & sync from that.

ITunes 10, album artwork won't show on ipod 'selected item'

The songs on my computer display album artwork fine, but on my iPod (Classic) it only displays the 'Now Playing' artwork. If I set it to show 'Selected Item' it will only show the artwork of the song playing, if it's selected. It won't show album artwork of any other songs that I select, instead it shows the 'Drag Artwork Here' image, even when the songs already have artwork.
The artwork shows up fine when I'm playing songs on my ipod, or if I click 'Get Info', but it just won't show up in the side bar. I've tried unistalling and reinstalling iTunes and it didn't make a difference. I can't restore my ipod to factory settings because a lot of the music I have isn't backed up. Is there anything I can do?

Strangely I was able to find help myself. I checked one box under the settings that said something like "show album artwork". Strange because it was unchecked before, I had never checked it myself and previously all the artwork was visible properly...
When I clicked that checkbox, to my horror iTunes said something to the effect of "Deleting artwork from 'iPod'". After that it went for a long time into a "Optimizing artwork for 'iPod'" and after that wait all the artwork is shown properly. I wonder what that did...?

Album artwork won't display on iPod?

I have been struggling with this problem for awhile now -- any help would be appreciated!
When I have my iPod plugged into my computer, I can see all of the album artwork that is set for my music on my iPod through iTunes. However, when my iPod is playing on its own, none of the album artwork will display. I have "display album artwork" set in the options. I have tried unchecking this option, ejecting the iPod from the computer, reconnecting the iPod, then rechecking the option, but this hasn't worked. Any ideas how I can fix this?

I believe this may have to do with how you are assigning the artwork to the albums. It seems like you have to assign the album art to every song in the album in order for it to show correctly on your ipod. For example, if you have a song playing in iTunes and you paste the artwork in the "paste artwork here" in the lower left corner; that is only updating the current song (even if you select multiple).
I have found the easiest thing to do is as follows (windows):
Highlight all the songs in an album. Right click-->Get Album Artwork. Pray that works. If iTunes can't find the artwork then plan B:
1) go to Amazon.com or or google images and find an image and the copy (just right click-->copy).
2) select all songs for an album-->right-click-->Get Info-->Check "Artwork", right-click-->paste

Artist name/album artwork won't change on my ipod 4g

After I change the artist names and album artwork on itunes and then press "sync", they should be changed right away on my ipod, right? THEY DO NOT GET CHANGED. does this syncing problem (or a slow reaction prob) only occuring to me? I called the customer service today and they simply told me to restore it. I tried restoring my ipod more than three times because of this. Is there any solution to this? Should I go and get a replacement to apple store? I own a new ipod 4g white with ipos 5.0.1.

i called them again and they told me if I want to change the album artwork + names of the songs that are already in the ipod (under device>music), I have to DELETE those songs. After that, I have to go to library>music and then change the settings there and then ADD THEM BACK to my ipod. I thought it's simply stupid and inconvenient.

Album artwork won't display on my Nano

I tired everything, enabling the "display album artwork" from itunes. changing the size of the images, renaming them, etc.. but nothing worked! Any advise?

I posted in a similar thread about a problem I noticed. If you sync your songs without having "display album artwork" selected and then later select it, the artwork does not get moved over. I had to remove the songs and reload them to get the artwork displayed. Hope this helps!

Album Artwork.. Can anyone help please??

I am a fairly seasoned user of itunes, but i still cannot find a very user-friendly way of adding album artwork to my songs in the library, anyone have and idea what i can do to make things go a little easier?

google itunes art importer. there is a program with that title that works very well. you can just put it on auto select and leave it on overnight and the program does a fantastic job of picking the correct cover.

iTunes uses information in the ID3 tags when organizing the library. If the artist tag is blank then the files are classified as unknown when iTunes is arranging library.
That bit if info will not help you though. The default setting for iTunes is to copy your files into the iTunes folder and arrange into folders this way artist>album>track. There may be a folder for compilation albums that will be compilation>album>track. There will be separate folders for podcasts, movies, and tv shows also, with subfolders as needed.
You can turn off the option for iTunes to copy files to iTunes folder. When this is done files are left where they are.
As for undoing changes, you will have to do that yourself. IF you had iTunes set to copy then your original files and arrangement should still be there.

2 Problems: Album Artwork won't load and Itunes deletes podcasts

I have one minor problem and one major problem. The minor problem is that I try to get album artwork off the internet for some of my albums and I go to add the artwork in Itunes and when I add it, it doesn't show up, like I never added any. The second problem is that when I am in the podcast section looking at podcasts, downloading, and/or listen to some, it sometimes deletes a whole director, usually one or two of my video podcasts for no apparent reason and gets rid of the whole podcast in my directory. I can re download the podcasts, but its really annoying.

For the artwork not adding, make sure XP doesn't think the actual music file is read-only.
You might need to 'undo' read-only several folders above it and apply it to all subfolders.
FOr example, if you are trying to change artwork for
drive:path....\iTunes Music\Beastie Boys\Licensed to Ill
Make sure the "iTunes Music" folder is not read only.
For the podcast problem, right-click on the top-level podcast name and choose *Do Not Auto Delete* from the flyout menu.

Missing album artwork / iTunes 12 not correctly synced to iPhone

Hi all.
Earlier, I simply wanted to add a couple of albums to my iPhone 5S (running iOS 8.1.3) that I purchased on CD.
After being unable to add the songs due to the commonly occurring 'ghosting' issue, I checked on my iPhone to see if they had appeared in the Music app. They didn't.
Instead, most of my album artwork was removed, seemingly at random. First thing I tried was deleting and manually adding a few of the affected songs. No luck with that. Secondly, I restored the iPhone from a backup. Again, nothing. I again tried to delete and re-add the tracks, which still didn't work.
Frustrated, I decided I'd just delete all the music through the usage menu on the phone and manually re-add it all. Here's where the main problem occurs: iTunes still lists 8gb and 900+ songs still being on the iPhone despite there being none. I figured this must be part of the issue, the iTunes troubleshoot menu lists everything as being fine, so I decided to update iTunes. Yet again, no luck.
I'm hesitant to delete the "music" on the phone through iTunes as I assume it should detect the music being removed, and I feel it would only cause further problems.
Essentially, after attempting to add 2 albums I'd recently bought and ripped off of a CD (though iTunes), it would not add to the phone and instead is only listed through iTunes with the light grey writing. This randomly broke most album art on the phone, and after restoring the phone/updating iTunes didn't work, I deleted all music off the phone. iTunes still lists all the music as being on there.
Running the latest version of iTunes on Windows 7.

Generally if syncing doesn't work as expected take the following steps:
Backup device.
Restore as a new device.
Restore the backup made earlier.
This assumes all content on the device is in your library. If that isn't the case see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
