Album artwork wont stay/save with song

when i drag in my own .jpg artwork it will not stay with the song(s), if i remove it from itunes. when i add the song back in to itunes the artwork is gone. the song and artwork are still in the same directory and have not moved.
this has never been a problem before, artwork would always stay with the song if i removed from itunes and even if moved the song to another folder.
i just did a fresh reinstall of 10.5. i previous had installed 10.5 over 10.4 so i wanted a fresh 10.5 now that i had time to do it.
itunes 7.6
OSX 10.5.1
any thoughts??

usually when i have problem with tracks not keeping the artwork embedded it is on older mp3s that i ripped off cds. usually i can just convert the id3 tag to the newest version and then it will accept artwork. for the rare cases this doesn't work i will usually re-rip the cd again into my collection, it is rare so it isn't a hassle. i know you can also just convert the files to aac format if they are mp3s and get rid of the old mp3s. i just don't know if there is loss of audio quality doing this.
i hope this helps. good luck.

  • Artwork doesn't upload with songs.

Recently an error occured and my computer or possibly itunes, deleted all the music off my ipod. I reloaded it all, but the album artwork didn't upload with it. I've gone into music and pressed the upload album artwork onto ipod, but it hasn't worked. I've always been able to upload the album artwork with the songs, but this time it isn't working. What can I do?

Try unchecking "display album artwork" in the music preferences section when your iPod is connected and click "apply". Then sync your iPod.
Then check "display album artwork" in the music preferences section when your iPod is connected and click "apply". Then sync your iPod again.
This should resync the album artwork to the iPod.

  • How can I get album artwork to automatically appear with each new episode?

I have a podcast subscription through the iTunes store and I dragged a piece of artwork into the little box that says "Drag Album Artwork Here" since when I tried to right-click and "Download Album Artwork" nothing happened. How do I get that piece of album artwork to automatically appear with each new episode of the podcast that gets downloaded instead of having to click and drag the image from my desktop every time a new episode gets downloaded?
    Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. It seems like what I'm wanting to do is rather impossible, although I hope the iTunes developers can include such a feature in a later release of the software.

  • Album artwork not showing for some songs of the same album, but the artwork is there?

On my iphone, some songs aren't showing the album artwork.. But other songs from the same exact album have the artwork.
When i click get info, the artwork is there on itunes, and when i click the 'my music' tab when my phone is connected, but it doesn't show the artwork on my phone when the song is playing.. help?

    See this...
btabz: My songs have artwork in iTunes, but it won't transfer to my iPod!
I haven't updated this for iTunes 7, so if you are using iTunes 7, the iPod preferences show up when you connect your iPod (there is no need to go to edit-->preferences and click the iPod tab as it says in the tip).

  • I downloaded some albums using my iphone, i then synced it with my PC. Now all the album artwork has gone from the songs i downloaded on my iphone, but not on the itunes on the pc. How can i get the artwork back on my iphone?

I downloaded some albums using my iphone (3GS), I then synced it with my PC. Now all the album artwork has disappeared off my iphone but not off itunes on the PC. How can I get the album artwork back onto my iphone?

I had the similar problem last night and found a solution (although it takes more than a few clicks).  Highlight all the album tracks in itunes on the pc and right click "get info". Check the artwork box in this window.  I found that the now playing art was showing up in the itunes window, but on songs that were missing artwork showed nothing in the get info box.  When I replaced the artwork by using the artwork command, or manually adding it into the "get info" window.  It was annoying but my iphone updated every album.

  • My album artwork does not match the song in my playlists

After making playlists with music purchased from itunes in my music app, the art work does not match the title of the song / album. How can I fix this problem?

    Hi freezerman84,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing issues with Album Artwork on your iPhone 5. To troubleshoot this issue, it may be best to completely resync your iPhone with iTunes. To do so, uncheck the "Sync Music" checkbox, and apply the changes (so there is ultimately no music syncing to your iPhone).
Once you have done that, recheck the "Sync Music" checkbox, and apply the changes. This will instruct iTunes to completely remove all music from your iPhone, and then copy the files once more. If you have a large amount of music, this initial sync may take a while.
If the above does not resolve your issue, it may be necessary to restore your iPhone:

  • Cover Flow Album Art won't change with Song Change

When I play songs in Cover Flow mode (landscape), the album remains on the same album that I first played even though the song has advanced to another album. Is this behavior consistent with anyone else or is this only my iPhone that is acting this way? Seems like the album art would change when the song changes, as it does in portrait mode.

I have many problems occuring randomly when i try to use Spotify on my Ipad Air 2 in the BMW car in offline mode.
*After some time Album Art and track names are no longer updated
    * After some time some of the HMI buttons get greyed out
I was able to solve all these issues by temporarily enabling WLAN hotspot on my mobile phone, then spotif on the ipad will correct itself.
Of course that's no permanent solution to fiddle with the mobile phone while driving, it must be some sort of bug of spotify that will hopefully get fixed to have proper offline usability in the car.

  • ITunes and Album Artwork question on Mac with two users

Hey everyone, I have what I hope is a pretty simple question. Right now, on my iMac, I have 2 user accounts, one for me and one for my wife. I wanted us to be able to share all of our music, so when I was setting up the computer, I put the iTunes Music Library in a /User/Shared/Music directory. Then, inside iTunes, for both users, I pointed to this new library. Everything here works great. When I add a song under 1 user, I just have to go to Add to Library under the other user and the songs are added. Works fine.
My main question is about the album artwork. I recently spent a lot of time under my user account going through and making sure I have all of the album artwork for every song we have in our library. I never thought about checking this on my wife's account, but when I did I realized that all of the stuff I added is not there. Anyway, I did some checking and found out that the album artwork is stored in each users Music directory. I did some reading on the web, and what I did was move my album artwork folder to the /Users/Shared/ directory, then created a symbolic link in my user directory to the shared folder. I did the same in my wife's account. I thought this would do the trick but it hasn't changed anything. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks so much for your time.

The artwork is stored in Music/iTunes/Artwork.
iTunes handles everything in that folder when iTunes adds it to the database.
This info is maintained in the iTunes library file in the iTunes folder.
iTunes will not do anything by copying or pointing to the artwork folder in your folder.
Unless you are both using the same iTunes library file, you will need to get your own artwork.
I put the iTunes Music Library
Do you mean the iTunes music folder?
Here's a way to do what you want.
Move your *iTunes folder* to the shared directory.
Open iTunes holding Option and select *Choose existing library*.
Select the iTunes library file in the Shared directory.
    Everything should work fine.
    Quit iTunes.
Move the *iTunes music folder* from /User/Shared/Music directory into the *iTunes folder* you moved into the Shared directory.
    Start iTunes. Everything should work.
    Quit iTunes.
    Log into your wife's account.
Start iTunes holding the Option key, select *Choose existing library* and select the *iTunes library file* in the iTunes folder you moved into the Shared directory.
Everything should be there including all artwork.
Each user needs to quit iTunes before the other user can open it.
Shouldn't be a problem since you are using the same computer.

  • Why does note pad not save with song?

My note pad feature does not save with the song.

Did you have the Notepad open, when you saved the project?
I experimented a bit, and with Version 10.0.1 I see a buggy behaviour. The notes are saved with the song, if the Notepad is open and the mouse focus is on the notes, but if I close the Notepad before saving the song, the last changes to the notes are not save and the note reverts to the previously saved version. It helps to open the notepad again before pressing  ⌘S to save the song.

  • Album artwork will not sync with my Ipod Touch

I have the latest 8GB Ipod Touch.  I have gone into the info setting and changed the settings so that I can copy/paste album artwork not found by Apple.  The problem is this artwork will show up prior to be synced but once I synce my Ipod the artwork will not show up.  Can someone help me figure out how to fix this?  Thank you for your help!!!!!!!

Have you checked on your iPod Touch to make sure that Podcasts are not restricted?
Look on the iPod in Settings/General/Restrictions. If it is on, go into the Restrictions and check to see what specific restrictions you have for Podcasts.
If it is not on, check again when you connect your iPod to your iTunes Library.
When the Device appears on the left hand side, select Device. You are now on the Summary pane. At the top of the window, you will see Summary selected. Look to the right for the Podcasts pane and select that. On this pane are the Podcast Sync options.

  • I tried deleting some songs off my ipod nano in order to make some room for new ones, an 'error' window popped up and the album artwork was deleted along with the song, but the blank cover and name still shows up? Help!

    yeah, clue's in the name?

Ouch, tough spot, but offhand I'd say some memory may have gone bad, or maybe just needs re-seating after all this time.
Not much you can do, but try this anyway...
    PRAM reset, CMD+Option+p+r...

In fact, do 3 in a row, takes a bit of time.

  • Album art does not correspond with song

My album art doesnt correspon with my song example: life in the fast lane b van halen instead of the Eagles!! How can i fix? Any info would help. Thanks.

I had the same problem and the only thing I could get to work was to erase everything on the ipod and reload it back from itunes. First I had to put all ipod files on my hard drive, clean out itunes and reload the saved files back to itunes and then back on the ipod. I think 1 of the songs has a bad id3 tag that messed it up. But after clearing everything out and then reloading it fixed it. Good luck

  • When trying to play my music my phone wont stay on one song

I went to play my music and when i clicked on one of the songs it was switching constantly to the other songs in my library. It wouldn't stop on any of the songs or play any of them. I layed it down and tried playing and took off shuffle and the same problem occured. My phone has been experiencing problems with randomly shutting down as well when I try to perform an activity such as unlocking my phone, or going into an app.
    Please help.

Home sharing is enabled on all devices. The problem stems from my iphone 4g and my itouch. Using my Itunes on my MacPro works fine with the music with airplay. I can utilize the airplay icon on my photos on my iphone and it will show up on my tv fine. I even can play my youtube videos thru airplay on my tv as well. The issue is when i try to utilize my music from my ipod on my iphone or itouch or from any music app the music doesnt play on my apple tv. there is no response. It just seems weird that i can navigate everything else seamlessly from photos to video but when it comes to music i get nothing thru airplay. i might add though, when i use home sharing i can play my music just fine using apple tv but it does me no good if im trying to use the music apps like Pandora or Groove.
