Album Cover Browsing Error

I just downloaded the version 7 of iTunes, and now I continuously get a fatal error everytime I try to access the movies section of the store, saying that my version of Windows doesn't support browsing album covers. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Thanks!!

I've been having the same problem after I downloaded the new version of itunes (I wish I would have kept the old one). If anyone comes up with an answer to the crazy "album cover..." issue (what is the deal with an album cover anyway), please, please let me know. I'm very tired of trying to click on tv shows or movies, and getting that stupid thing and then getting the "error reporting" box. I sent email to support at itunes and still haven't gotten an answer. by the way, what is DirectX?

  • Album Cover art

I like the idea of being able to browse using cover art but it is only a useful feature if you can get most cover art . There are many albums for which iTunes has album cover art, albums which I own original copies of, for which I can't get album art.
Examples: Sigur Ros /Saeglour, T-Bone Burnett /True False Identity, Paul Simon/ Surprise, Graceland, all of Van Morrison's albums, most Dylan and Neil Young albums and many others.
Apple put this feature on I Tunes, but many album covers which you show on the Itunes store website don't download. I have both checked "automatically download missing album artwork" in preferences and requested Get album artwork in the Advanced Tab . If I control click on the album artwork on iTunes store, I can't even copy the image to paste it in manually. Also, when I request album art I often get an "unable to download certain artwork " message with no further explanation. If I'm supposed to buy the album art I'd like to know how and how much.
    What's up?

The spelling was ok since almost all were entered using gracenote. Anyway it suddenly started working. without changing anything I could tell I asked again to get album artwork from the Advanced tab and it started downloading 400 album covers. whatever. So my problem wasn't answered but it is solved. thanks for the google image search idea. So I guess I'll mark it answered.

  • Album Cover/Title not showing in the List for an Artist with one album.

    Hello all.
I have browsed a number of the posts, but nothing close to my particular problem.
I am new to iPod Classic (a couple of months). I like it! Used to be a Creative Zen Vision:M user.
    Here is my issue.
I have most of the covers for my albums. Still looking for a few.
When I go to the Artist's menu and pick an artist, if it has more than one album, it shows 'All Songs' and a list of albums with covers, album name and number of songs on a separate screen. You click an album and it shows the tracks, you click a track and away you go. That works just fine.
However, when the Artist only has one album, it does not show the album cover, name and number of songs on a separate screen. It just shows the list of tracks. I would like it to be consistent. I would like to see the album cover/name before I click the tracks to start.
I have worked all my songs in iTunes. I'm pretty sure there is no difference between the one and multiple album artists.
Of course when you click a track to start, the album cover shows on the Now Playing screen.
Is there some sort of setting I might have missed.
Any thoughts on this? What might I try?
    Thanks in Advance ...
    Bob

    Wow!
    Is that really so?
I'm not questioning your answer. Just want to make sure before I say OK and let it be. I had heard that iTunes/iPod forces you to do things their way, this is an example, I guess!
    Thanks for the input.
I guess I'll just have to leave it be!
Is iTunes the only way to deal with iPod? Are there any other programs?

  • Goofy Cover Browser view in iTunes 7

I guess Apple’s relationship with Disney finally got to close for comfort. I’m afraid Goofy just took over the iTunes UI design.
As the name implies, the Cover Browser (rightmost view button) looks and almost functions like a browser.
Unfortunately, it is merely a display of the album now playing with previous and next albums.
Undoubtedly this view is great looking, but has no usefulness as a browser. This should have been a visualizer plugin.
As a matter of fact, I actually would use it as a full screen visualizer plugin. Ironically, such useful Use Case for this feature is not enabled.
So far, I was only slightly disappointed with the missed opportunity to make a cool looking real album browser and the missing visualizer.
Apple did provide a “Group by Artwork” view that is not as great looking, but it’s certainly useful.
However, my disappointment quickly turned into puzzlement when I was surprised by a completely unexpected Cover Browser behavior.
I hear that after puzzlement comes acceptance. I’m not there yet, but I have a feeling I’m working up to it by writing about it.
    Consider this.
If you filter your view with Quick Browse by an Artist or a Genre, only the filtered tracks are displayed.
If you start playback, only those selected tracks will be in the queue.
I don’t know about you, but that’s how I listen to my iTunes library. I play a selected Playlist, Genre, Album, or Artist to listen to a specific selection. I never play tracks without filtering because I have podcasts, audiobooks, hip-hop, classic, altrock, and only God and my iTunes library know how many more different types of music.
But I digress. Having started playback on a filtered list of a selected Artist or Album and then clicking on the Cover Browser does something only Goofy could have conceived.
It loses your selected filtering and changes to an all tracks view. The currently playing album cover is displayed, but what is before and after that track is now determined by the all tracks view column sorting.
In other words, because I clicked on the Cover Browser view, my playback queue changed to something I had no intention of hearing.
This strange behavior is unique to the Cover Browser view. Had I click on the Group by Artwork instead, the filtering would still be in effect.
There must have been some kind of crazy rational to lose the filtering since it was clearly intentional.
They got the Playlist behavior right. If playback is started from a Playlist, changing view to Cover Browser does the expected and only displays the albums contained in the Playlist.
Goofy didn’t stop there. No, he was inspired.
In the Cover Browsing view while playback is active, if you navigate down the list of tracks, say 6000 tracks down, after a brief timeout, the highlighted album reverts back to the one playing, which could the first one of this 6000 tracks list.
Quick, you got 15 seconds to navigate down a list and look at it…Sorry, you’re not fast enough…back to the top of the list where you belong!
I’m afraid this is not the first time iTunes has been updated with functionality that makes it less useful. Podcast categories have been removed with no good way to get to those specific podcasts anymore (e.g. International).
The status window defaulting to downloading podcast information while playback is active is another terrible example.
As a lifetime fan, it is sad to witness the slow deterioration of Apple’s once high standards.
Acceptance is coming while I image what must be like to have Goofy lose and running amuck in the Tunes design lab.

Below the cover view is the track listing which has all the columns as usual - simply click the column title to sort by that field.
If the album has different artists then make sure the 'group compilations' option is ticked in preferences and then go into the info for the tracks and select 'part of a compilation'. iTunes will then group the tracks into a single album and display 'various artists' as the artist.
There is also now a field called 'album artist' which sets an artist for an entire album.

  • Album Cover Flow View Option????

I just updated to 11.0.4 version.  What happened to the album cover flow view option in Music?  Is it no longer an option?  If so, I'm NOT happy. The "juke box" feel was nice to flip through and easy for younger kids & grandparents to browse library.  I might have to revert back to earlier version.   Am I missing something?  Thanks for any input!

yeah they got rid of it in the new version which is stupid, because when i just have it up while doing other things i like to see the cover art and it's much easier to look through.
i'm just sorta stuck with a plain text list. it ***** and is ugly. i wish i hadn't of upgraded.

  • 3.6 won't display facebook album cover pics/ windows 7/ explorer does

New laptop with Windows 7 and Firefox 3.6. So far, facebook album cover pics and thumbnails do not display under profile pics tab, although individual pics display. By comparison, eBay pics and thumbnails display correctly. On same computer same problem does NOT occur from Explorer.

It is possible that you clicked "Block Images" in the right-click context menu while saving an image.
    See:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Images_or_animations_do_not_load
You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
    * Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
    * Click the favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
    * Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
    * Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
    * Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
    * If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

  • Thumbnail for Album Cover in E-mail?

When sending an e-mail regarding an album the recepient receives the e-mail ("Check out John's album on Photoshop.com") and can view the album ok but the e-mail does not contain an image - I'm guessing that the album cover photo should be displayed but there is a black picture with the word "empty" in it.  See below.  Album owner's e-mail is @Yahoo and the recepient is @Hotmail.  Any ideas?  Thanks, rcwaszak

    Hi,
The images are actually present but not visible due to the mail clients/browser's security settings.
The user would have to click (Display Images) or (Always Display images from .....) at the top or bottom of the page.
If you are using Outlook as the mail client, right click and select Download images.

  • Album covers, graphics error

    Hi!
Even though album covers are shown, there is a graphical error: two rectangles filled with diagonal white or yellowish lines. I have updated my Direct X and graphics card drivers (Nvidia GeForce Go 440 64 M).
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.
      Windows XP

Thanks! This didn't solve my problem, but interesting enough: If I turn of DirectDraw in Quick Time, the display of the album covers is in the same grizzly way with diagonal lines as (with DirectDraw enabled) only the three rectangles below the album cover.

  • Album cover issue

    Hi,
Can someone tell me how to fix a album cover error? When i go on my iPad to music --> albums all albums with a video file in it show a picture of the video file not the album cover. How can i fix this?

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"

  • Coverflow showing "invisible" album cover rather than "music symbol" cover

I recently noticed that my iPhone is showing a completely invisible album cover instead of the normal music symbol cover in coverflow & regular iPod modes. This is strange as I usually see the music symbol placeholder album cover when browsing the iPod software. With the completely invisble cover, it's hard to notice the album when browsing in coverflow. Is this a known bug?

One thing to try is to find the songs that belong to the album in itunes.
Right click or control click on the each of the songs and go to the artwork tab.
Delete any artwork associated with the song.
Now add the artwork you want associated with the album.
Connect the iphone to the computer.
Use manually manage to remove the album from the iphone.
Then sync the album back to the iphone.
    Hope this helps.

  • Album Cover Duplicates

Hi, I recently installed iTunes 7.7 & just loaded the “Rolling Stone Magazine Top 500 Songs”. In iTunes it gives me the same album cover for each song / artist in the Album Browse. Is there a way to only show one Album cover for the 500 songs.
    Regards pat

You need to mark all the songs from that album as a compilation.
Select all the songs from that album -- one way is to use the "Browser" to select that album.
"Get Info" on the selected tracks (right-click and select "Get Info", or select "File..Get Info".)
In the "Multiple Item Information" dialog that appears, check the box for "Compilation", and select "Yes" from the pulldown.
    Then click "OK".

  • ITunes 7 Release - Crashing - View Cover Browser

I have read a number of the posts on crashing and reviewed some of the suggestions. So far the only unusual find I have seen is that changing the View button to View Cover Browser shows a message that says: "iTunes is unable to browse album covers on this computer"
This would seem to not be a big problem until I went to the Music Store and clicked on Movies. The same message comes up and CRASHES EVERYTIME.
There are definately some problems with this release and will hope to see some updates soon!

    Cover Flip
USUALLY the big fix here is updating your video
card/drivers from the PC makers site (May as well
install all updates they offer) IF the Video card
came with the PC when you bought it
If not goto the maker of the card to update it.
Also update your DirectX From Microsoft here

Updated the Video driver and also Direct X and still no satisfaction...crashing on Music Store Movies page.
