Album cover flow quit working help!!!!!

it says "iTunes is unable to browse album covers on this computer"
It never used to do that!!!

I have't tried this before, but here is a Microsoft article about "Direct draw is not available":

Album Cover Flow has stopped working on my MacAir

Hi,
My preferred Screen Saver is I-tunes Album Cover flow which has been working fine. Last week it stopped working with an error message there is no art work in I-tunes, however there is. How do I get it tto start working again?

Thanks for the advice Sberman, however this did not work. There when I click into change the screensaver and test it gives me an error message "Your Itunes library does not have any songs with art work. My library does. This just stopped work?

Someone nicked my Album Cover flow, without asking. I have snow leopard. I was happy. Just before Christmas as if I havent got enough to do Thank You. I've given Apple loads of money this year--presents and all, the least they could do is tell me, they're going to take stuff off of My computer that I enjoy,/ find very useful/ and worked hard to update all my album covers and have a gallery of my own artwork for my mixes--it was beautiful. When I went to add some more, the facility had been taken away from me. Was so dissapointed. They send me emails all the time to buy the latest must have products. I even did a questionair to help them. They really care for their customers--right. So why couldnt they warn me about this update, its only polite.
If I bought a warm coat some years ago, then the manufatures came round without my knowledge and cut off the left arm, and later told me, their reserch says that people dont use the left arm so much so they have to get rid of it. 1. I think that would be illegal. 2. its impolite not to ask if they could do it. 3. why not give me an options to keep it, seeing as i bought it. 4. its ludicrous.
I trusted Apple-but then -they took my YouTube off my ipad. I cant update to newer software as I will lose some expensive programms (Im not made of money). I also have 2 oldish defunct but fully working laser printers (if they were compatible with new software).
Im not a techky-I just use the stuff, I do art and music and Cover Flow was equipement I used.

View by cover flow not working in Itunes 8.1

Hi all, I don't know what's Happened but view by cover flow has stopped working for some reason . view by list & view by grid still works but when i goto select view by cover flow, all I get is a blank screen where the albums should be & a empty space at the bottom. When I first installed Itunes & Quick time, view by cover flow was working. I havent used it tho for a couple of weeks then thought i'll try it again & now nothing. Is there a fix I can try to get it back to the way it was before it stopped working? It doesn't affect the use of Itunes in any way, (I can still sync to my 32gig Ipod touch no problem) but as I do use view by cover flow, I miss it & having to use view by grid & the moment (just means a double click on the album to see the tracks that's all), Yes all my drivers & directx are up to date & Itunes & quicktime are the latest versions. Cheers

So I found out how to clean this up. Make sure to replace "USER_NAME" with the right account name.
1. Remove Itunes, Quicktime, and Apple Mobile device Support.
2. Reboot PC
3. Delete C:\Program Files\Itunes Directory
4. Delete C:\Document and Settings\USER_NAME\Application Data\Apple Computer
5. Delete C:\Document and Settings\USER_NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple Computer
6. Delete C:\Document and Settings\USER_NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple
7. Reboot
8. Reinstall Itunes
This reset all of the settings and brought back the cover flow as well as keeping my existing files.
Obviously there was a easier way of doing this.. but a full clean install helps.

Album Cover Flow View Option????

I just updated to 11.0.4 version. What happened to the album cover flow view option in Music? Is it no longer an option? If so, I'm NOT happy. The "juke box" feel was nice to flip through and easy for younger kids & grandparents to browse library. I might have to revert back to earlier version. Am I missing something? Thanks for any input!

yeah they got rid of it in the new version which is stupid, because when i just have it up while doing other things i like to see the cover art and it's much easier to look through.
i'm just sorta stuck with a plain text list. it ***** and is ugly. i wish i hadn't of upgraded.

Cover flow question - please help!

Hi ... something is annoying me about viewing album art in the 'cover flow' ....
I have my sort to "albums" and I have one album by Kenny Wayne Shepherd that has guest artists on each track. The album appears as 10 separate tracks within cover flow (ie i see the picture 10 times and have to scroll 10 times to get to the REAL next album). I'm sure there's a way to fix this, and it probably has something to do with the compilation setting I'm guessing, but I can't figure it out. Help anyone? Thanks!

i got these songs from my CD and transfered them to my Ipod before putting the album work with the song, the next day when i was free i put all the album art with the songs but when i play my songs the album art doesn't show up but when i open i-tunes it appears. anyway to fix this?
also this might sound stupid:
I have a ipod video- if i delete a song/file from my ipod will the space be restored on my ipod or will it still be considered "used space?"

every time i press on it the itunes window just getting buggy on the top :\
i tried re-installing itunes but did nothing.

I have had the same problem. I get audio, but am unable to play any video within itunes. The video works fine on my ipod nano. Did you ever get this resolved?

How can I get cover flow to work on a fifth generation Ipod classic

I have a fifth generation Ipod. Is there any way I can get cover flow or something similar? When I'm browsing through my music, I want to be able to see the album cover, rather than just the album title.

If I see my library as a list, I can select a group of songs by clicking in a genre, or a playlist. Then I can listen to the songs I have selected.
If I switch the view to cover flow, it automatically works with the whole library. It won't play only the selected songs. It's like after choosing cover flow it deselects the songs.
What should I do if I want to use cover flow only inside a group of selected songs?

Yep, switching from Browser to Cover Flow removes your Browser selections. I suspect this is a mistake, since selections do carry over between Browser and List views; it doesn't make much sense for that to be true of two view modes and not the third. You'll need to make a playlist if you want to use Cover Flow for a portion of your library.

Cover flow not working properly.

When I delete photos from cover flow the file name goes from the list but the photo stays. For example if I now select photo number 20 I am actually viewing photo number 19 and all the following photos are numbered wrongly. The only way to rectify it is to reboot.

I have just found out that I don't have to shut down the computer to rectify this I only need to close finder.

My keyboard shortcuts have quit working - HELP!

Can anyone tell me WHY my keyboard shortcuts—new window, close window—have quit working.
It's a pain in the tuckus to have to open a window with a menu.
It happened suddenly and would appreciate a fix if anyone has the same problem.

I change my Spotlight shortcut to Ctrl + Space and have no problems. I've never had a problem with use the Space Bar to get the Hand tool.

Album cover flow

Hi all,
This is probably nothing technical at all but it's something that really bugs me! The album artwork on the cover shows the same album two to three times, is this strange and is there anything i can do to get rid of it. it really annoys me!!!

Hey everyone I'm having an issue with my album work and its not that i just have copies. My album artwork is mixed up... i have 3 of the same albums artworks but on albums they don't belong. For instance on my iron Maiden CD Josh Groban is the cover O.o ... sooooo i would like some help with this please haha.

ITunes is deleting my album cover art + songs -- please help!

I am running Windows 7 and iTunes v. 9.2.0.61. Just recently, from Grid view, iTunes seems to be deleting cover art as well as songs. It seems to be chance when it happens, but when it does happen, it is always this way:
- From Grid view (album thumbnails), I double click on an album thumbnail, and the album art image disappears. I CANNOT re-add the art to that particular album after that, either, even manually.
- The album folder opens up after the double-click, and then when I double click a song to play it, it starts playing, but then I notice it has disappeared from the tracklist. I cannot select it again -- it is GONE. I checked to see if in fact the song is deleted not only from iTunes, but from my C: drive storage location, and it is GONE. DELETED for GOOD.
What is going on here? This is very frustrating, and I wonder if anyone else has experienced the same thing. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

Nobody can help???? Please -- this is a VERY BAD glitch/bug/whatever you want to call it...it is permanently deleting my music!

Album cover doens't work

I gotta little problem here.
I just added the albums of Monstercat(001 to 007) manually to my library, but the album image of 007 doesnt work, while i added it in the album map that i used to import. The others do work...
any idea to fix this?

Album shuffle is currently only working if you have the smart shuffle slider exactly in the middle (ie, "random"). If you move the smart shuffle slider in either direction it causes album shuffle to instead become "song shuffle".
So, place the slider back in the middle and it should work just like it did in 4.9.

Modem quit working-help!

I have a Powerbook G4 1.5Ghz, still under warranty. The modem stopped working. I called Apple, and they won't even talk to me unless I give them $49. I'm hoping someone here can help me diagnose the problem.
I only use the modem for faxing. Now it won't get any further than "Preparing Fax". I check the log files and I find when the computer starts up "Sep 14 15:52:11 localhost kernel[0]: AppleI2SModemFamily::SSIStartUp -- SSIStartUp3034 two sync mode is UNSUCCESSFUL after 20 tries!"
Apple Hardware test says "modem detected" and nothing more.
I've tried resetting PMU and PRAM. I've tried installing a clean system.
I tried opening zterm to see if the modem is responding at all, and Zterm says "### Error: 16 opening port"
I hope someone out there can help me out.

Recently had the same problem. You did much of the same things I did. AppleCare referred me to the Genius Bar at the Apple Store nearby. After about 45min of them doing tests, etc. they concluded that the modem was defective. My PowerBook was packed up and sent off for repair.
Don't know if this helps much.
