Album cover in Opus file

Hello,
As Firefox supports Opus files I use this format for my music.
The thing is that embedded cover is not supported properly, in such case the music player will simply not show the file (like an unsupported type).
Here is the command line used:
opusenc --picture "cover.jpg" input.wav output.wav
It fails even with:
opusenc --picture "3|image/jpeg||1000x984x24|cover.jpg" input.wav output.wav

Hi Zikzak,
Thank you for your help investigating this issue, as well as providing sample files! I was able to download the zip from the address you linked.
I don't have a USB cord with me, but I'll test this out on newer versions of Firefox OS, then file a bug, and update you on the status.
Thank you for your interest in Firefox OS and the Open Web! =)

  • Embedding "album cover" image in a video podcast file

I've created a video podcast and successfully submitted it to ITMS. The issue is that the individual episodes of my video podcast do not have cover art images associated with them. Instead, when I test subscribed to my video podcast, it generated an "album cover" for the podcast in a seemingly random fashion. For the first episode, it grabbed a still frame from second 6 of the .m4v file. and for the second episode, it grabbed a still frame from second 11 of the .m4v file.
So, I thought I would go into the .m4v file via QTPro and create an image metadata association like is done with ID3 tags in .mp3 files. However, I cannot find a away to do that.
Does anyone know how to embed an "album cover" image into a video podcast file (.m4v file)?
If I add an image to the file via iTunes Get Info>Art Work tab and then export it back to my server, will the added image stay embedded in the .m4v file so that when others subscribe to my video podcast they will see my selected "album" artwork for that episode?
You can view my video podcast at http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=83434502

    Super Mario:
You were correct. Adding album artwork through iTunes "Get Info>Art Work" tab and then exporting my video podcast file back out to my server did the trick. I tested subscribing to it and this time my video podcasts had the album artwork that I selected attached to them.
Also, thank you for the compliment on my sci-fi video podcasts. I'm currently working on a major overhaul of the website which will serve the fans of the series (if any). You can check it out in about two days at http://www.sayremedia.com.

  • How do I get mp3 files to appear with album cover thumbnails?

how do I get mp3 files to appear with album cover thumbnails? when I updated my ITunes now all my mp3 files
that had thumbs have no thumbs...thanks

First, you have to embbed picture into mp3 file with idtag editors (tagalicious, musicbrainz picard, mp3tag, id3tag editor...).
Then you'll have to install at least Itunes 10.5.1(42), even if you're not using Itunes at all.
Albumarts will now appear in every folder from the finder.

  • Walkman app display incorrect album cover

I made an account just to post this.
Okay, my device is Xperia Z1 C6903 and I use the Walkman app to play music, and honestly, I love the app, it's a great app and all, I love the interface and surround feature. I do not have thought of using any other music player such as Poweramp.
But I don't understand why the all the files in an album has to display the same album art, I don't know about if my app or system is defective, all I know is Walkman works likes this:
All files with the same Album name tag, with album art or not, will display the same album art as the first track of the album.
Therefore if the files in an album contains different variety of album art, it will all be replaced by the album art tagged in the first track.
I have thoughts if I am the only one who has this problem cause not only Walkman app does this sort of thing, even Play Music (Google's music app) does the same, is something wrong with my system? So far I know Poweramp (Trial) display album art correctly and does not have any sort of this kind of problem.
And no, my phone is not rooted.
That is bascially my problem is anyone know the solution, or comments, you're more than welcomed to share. Honestly, I love this app and I cannot be persuade to use another app to play music.
    P.S.
If you ask me if there's any improvement/new feature that can be done to this app, and the only thing that I'd wish this app can have is crossfade effect and please, remove the big title block with "Enjoy Your Music Anytime and Everywhere" on it, it takes up lot of space and I hate to have to scroll down in order to access other shortcuts.
    Solved!

I do not own Z1,I just gave you a suggestion which I thought would help. How about if you tap the third button while you are over a song, select edit music info and select what art do you want?
Okay, here's what I did, I tested out an album with two songs in it, both tagged with different cover when displayed on PC, now I transfered it to Z1 by just dragging it to SD card folder, didn't use Media Go or anything, when displayed on Walkman, the second song displays album cover that is of the first song, I proceed to "Edit music info", I clicked on the album art, I discovered that is over written by something, so I clicked on "Clear album art", choose "Save", and turned out the song got quickly over written again, I think it has something to do with the "Download music info" app thing, by Gracenote, unless this is under observation of a developer, I don't think this can be solved, right now I'd try using Media Go, see if that works.

  • How to apply album cover picture to all songs on cd not just one at a time?

i found agreat website with free cd covers for my songs that will show up in the corner of my ipod. but i can figure out how to apply the picture to all the songs in an alubm an dnot just one, i can only drag the picture into the box in itunes one by one.

I highly recommend Album Cover Finder
    http://www.amphonicdesigns.com/albumcoverfinder/
It's not free, but it's worth the small investment of 9 bucks.
I just point it to my iTunes library and it batch uploads the artwork to every file automatically.

  • Can't get album cover artwork to show on all tracks

Some time ago I used MPFreaker to download album cover artwork for all (almost) the tracks I have in iTunes.
I've just bought a 20Gb colour iPod and it only shows the artwork for the occasional track. Even where within a complete album, the artwork only shows for one or two tracks, if that.
What am I doing wrong? I tried the trick of switching off 'Display artwork' and then switching it back on again but, if anything, that's made it worse - there are less tracks with artwork.
    Cheers
    Phil

Pablo, I would follow the suggestion of Dave W. I use his method and everything works fine on my Ipod. All my Album art shows(5000+ songs). His restore suggestion is great too. Also, make sure you have the latest versions of the Itunes and Ipod software.
Also, there are different ID tags that MP3 files use. Some tagging methods may not be wholely compatibile with the Ipod, or the tag might be corrupted. In this case you may try highlighting the song and converting the tag. There are a lot of tag options there.
Or, if you are using the MP4 format, you might have problems there too. I don't know that IPod's support the MP4 format. That doesn't mean it won't work most of the time. Good Luck.

  • A single album cover is going on multiple albums at random.

This problem has been going on for quite a while on and off, and ready to delete that album.  I downloaded Volbeat Beyond Heaven/Above **** and it keeps going to different albums. Linkin Park Hunting Party, Reel Big Fish Turn off the radio and Soundgarden Badmotorfinger just to name a few TODAY.  I've tried deleting the Volbeat Album cover and syncing my iPod to reset the Album covers, I've tried deleting The non-Volbeat albums covers to rest them. and it hasn't worked.  I should mention that they had the right album covers for about a half hour (not including Soundgarden).  Another thing I forgot to mention is that when  turn my iPod to the side, the album covers are correct, like they are on my laptop.  Just my iPod doesn't have the correct cover.

iTunes cannot handle multiple references for one song file.
You might want to let our friends in Cupertino know your thoughts on the matter by submitting the form on this page .

  • Zen Vision: M problem with Album Cov

I've read a lot of intructions on these boards about dragging the album cover into the generic icon (after I select "View" and "Albums" in the Media Explorer. Thing is, when I try to drag a picture nothing happens. Next thing I try is to manually copy and paste the album cover into the same generic grey icon and it says that it won't allow it to be viewed in my device and asks me if I just want to drop it in the folder (which does no good). Anyone else solve this problem in the past? Do I have to use a certain type of image file type? I'm using jpgs.
    Please help me.
?Also, I am using Windows Vista 32-bit Premium Home Edition. Thanks in advance. I really want my album covers to work, it will be so cool.

I found the easiest way is to do it in Creative Media Source 5, highlight all the tracks in the album you want to apply art to, right click, go to "edit properties", click on the last entry on the bottom, "change album art" and assign the JPG of your choice, then update tags and the album art will show on your player, it has worked 00% for me so far.

  • Missing information by Apple about handling album cover in general

I have just read several threads about the album cover question and it seems to me as if some helpful and official words by Apple would be necessary. How is cover art handled? Is there a new technique for local storage? Are covers no longer embedded in sound files? What's the exact purpose of the files in the new "Album Artwork" folder in the iTunes folder? What does their strange names mean? What format are the files? How are these connected with the tracks? Is there only one cover art file for multiple tracks?
iTunes help itself does not give any explanations at all.
So I would appreciate some more detailed information about this theme.

I have this same exact problem. I have entire albums that are in the iTunes Store. For example, P.O.D "Satellite" is in the iTunes store, but the Album Art will not download for my ripped CD. I have also taken the time to make sure every single character of AAC files embedded info matches the iTunes store embedded info (i.e. Artist, Song Title, Album all match).
It is very frustrating that I know the artwork is there, but I can't get to it. Any clues would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Brandon

  • After downloading the latest ujpdate from itunes it is impossible to see album songs individually, the screen is black and all that shows is the album cover.

Trying to find music to download and buy but the screen is black with no facilities to view the records on the album.
When I click on the album it plays and offers a single purchase on that song playing, but no other option to

Have tried deleting and downloading again and pressed repair, but the same thing happens.
What do I do now please?

    Hello hsielglad,
Thank you for your question. iTunes 11.1 is required to update to and sync with iOS 7.  If you are still running iTunes 10.6.3, I recommend trying to obtain the update by going to the iTunes menu and selecting Check for Updates.

  • No album cover art in Finder for mp3's?  What a downgrade.

I have album cover art imbedded in ALL my mp3 files and they used to show up perfectly in Finder.  Now, I see NOTHING.  Cover art still shows in iTunes, but not Finder.  Any fix for this?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello  Nikicampos
I have no such problem with iTunes with a library of more than 30000 songs.
I used to be a Weekend DJ with many many Albums.
Which view in iTunes does not give you an Artwork.
One thing to note is the list view, will give you an Artwork only if there is more song than the size of the Artwork icon.
    here is an example
I left only two song in the Hush Album to show that list view, wont give you the Artwork in this case.
but as you can see, the info of the selected song show the artwork.
in the finder, without Icon Preview checked, you wont see the artwork.
    With icon Preview Activated
    I do have more question
Why do you convert the song ?
if the original song is an aiff, wav or a movie, the artwork cannot be inserted inside the file, so converting it will result into a song without artwork.
Sometime you will see a file marked MPEG-3 but it is a video. Open it into Quicktime, export it as a audio file then put it in iTunes, and if the file is mp3 or mp4, AAC, then you can insert the Artwork.
I probably dont fully understand your problem, give me more info but I am using iTunes since the very first version and I never hard a problem with artwork.
Could you give more detail about your problems?
    Thank you
    Franco

  • Album cover lost in sync

When i add album covers to my iTunes library on Windows 7 and then sync with my iPhone ( 64Go, if that matters ), covers are lost. The weirdest thing is, if i play any song i did add covers to, the cover shows in the back. But it won't show in the album tab. To make it simple, it seems like songs do have cover, but the album doesn't. ?_?
    I tried :
    - Using older / recent iTunes
    - Restore / Update my iPhone
    - Reboot computer / iPhone several times
    - adding covers in the iPhone instead of the library
    - changing image extension for the cover
    - changing resolution
_Somehow, a cover did work on an album, and after several sync, it just disappear, but as i was saying, songs do have covers when played, but the album cover doesnt work. It's just blank.
I spend several hours on my computer / internet trying to solve this, in vain.
    Need  help :c

I have the same problem and this is how I get it to work.
Although the artwork in iTunes seems correct, you still need to check individual Artwork on each Album.  (The new iTunes seems to mass them up.)
Go to iTunes Music and right click "get info -> artwork" on each of your song.
Make sure the artwork shows up.
In my case, some of the artwork is missing and some of them looks strange.  Reset any artwork that is missing.
Uncheck the music sync so the existing music in your ipod is removed.
Before resync, go to your ipod to make sure all the music files are actually removed.
    Resync.
    Hope this help.

  • Zen Vision M Album Cov

Can someone please tell me I can only see one album cover for all the albums on my player? How can I make it so that it shows the correct ones or just none at all?

Download MediaMonkey !Install it and if you want to add files to your library, press "Insert" and select the type of files you wanna add and the folders of your hard disk. Then if you want to put artwork, you right-click your song and select "Get Info-Buy" and select whatever online music store. This will automatically update the artwork AND ID3 Tags. Or if you want to put them manually, right-click your song and select "Properties" and click the "Album Art" tab and then you add the album Art!

  • Lost Album Cover Art

When you download music from iTunes, you also download the album cover. I ended up wiping my hard drive a few months ago due to a virus, and had backed up all my music, but lost the album cover art. I would like to back them up, but I don't know where to look. Where are they stored in the computer?

OK in windows media player, it will pull the album art up, but it doesn't attach the art to the song, instead it hides the art in the system and attaches a series of numbers to be ID. In iTUnes tho the art is attached to the songs tags.
Now there may be some program you can find on the net that will automaticly do this for you, I have no idea but heres how to do it manually.
Now the art work will reside where the song is. Since most music is put in the "My MUsic" folder i'll focus there, but if you have songs in another folder there artwork will be in that folder with them. Open My Music folder and goto tools>folder options>view tab Now check "Show Hidden Files and Folder" then UNCHECK "Hide Protected Operating System Files" You should now see all the album art listed.
