Album Duplicating Itself in Music App

Basically, this one album on my phone duplicates itself on my phone, yet its not like that in itunes. The picture better describes it.
Also, here is a screenshot of my itunes.
Any suggestions would be appreciated! My friend also has this problem, but she has a iPod touch 5th Generation.

Hey there Bryantdl7,
It sounds like this one album duplicates its info section when viewed on your iPhone but in iTunes it appears normal. I would try a few things here. First close all the open apps on the phone.
iOS: Force an app to close
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the phone and retest the issue:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If that does not resolve the issue, try deleting the album and then re download it from iTunes if it was an iTunes Store purchase.
Downloading past purchases from the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
All the very best,

  • Is there a maximum album cover size in Music app?

Is there a maximum album cover artwork size in the Music app? I've noticed that some albums — that I've scanned the covers for — will display the cover in iTunes but not on my iPhone, so I'm wondering whether there's a maximum filesize or maximum dimensions.

    No
There is a maximum numb of pages in a book (100 pages) and the larges page I am aware of holds 16 photos so the maximun number of photos you could have in a book would be 1600

  • ITunes Match not syncing album by year in Music app

I have been cleaning up my iTunes library, on my MBP. While importing some new songs and editing some old ones, the albums are sorting correctly by year in iTunes, but not in the Music app in iOS. I edited the year info for all the tracks in the album, but the year in the Music app says the old year, which means the albums are out of chronological order. I use iTunes Match to sync. Where is the old year hiding?

Well, after a weekend of complete disaster and nightmares for iTunes Match, everything is back to normal except one major flaw that's really annoying me.
On friday no other tracks but the matched ones would stream on either my Apple TV or my secondary computer. They wouldn't download if I wanted them to on this secondary computer. Music videos included.
Later last evening every track on iCloud started working properly again. Except music videos. They'd not download on my secondary computer. They wouldn't stream on my Apple TV. I did some tests and out of 208 music videos currently compatible with iCloud (because they were purchased with the same account) only 3 actually stream and download. So either this is part of the temporary breakdown iTunes Match has been suffering, or because of it my music videos are corrupted.
I've contacted Customer Support 4 times to no avail so far regarding a response. Either I can play/download my music videos again or one of the main features for me of iTunes Match on my Apple TV is absolutely broken and useless.
Apple really needs to address this and solve my problem. Otherwise iTunes Match is only partially working. What would the use of buying music videos at the iTunes Store would be for me from now on???

  • Album Artwork wanted in Music App - NOT Artist profile image

Right, so i've already read a bunch of threads pertaining to this issue but none have helped me so im starting my own.
I'm a hardened iphone user, and mac user in general, residing in the UK.
I recently bought an iphone 5s on O2 network and syncronised my new handset from a back up i had which was made from my old iphone 4s.
Now, im aware others experience a similar problem with the Music app in iOS7 - in that some artists show an "Artist profile picture" and others show one (of perhaps many) album artworks which are stored on the device.
This is an issue for me, here's why...
Being a huge music lover, and a creative (im a graphic designer) i digest my music library when scrolling visually through the artworks i see.
Without them, im usually highly uninterested in listening to anything as i can never decide what to put on.
Some artists profile pictures look more or less the same too, so i could be staring at 3 seperate artists who all look the same yet span completely different genres and i'll skip past every one of them because i cant remember exactly what songs i may have of theirs on my iphone.
I've read up on how people have managed to get ALL artists in their music library to display the artist profile picture instead of the album artwork, but not how they managed to get the album artwork back instead of the artist profile images.
I find this heavily annoying having just invested in a 64gb (32gb wasn't enough for my library of music) and ironically, i now don't want to listen to any of it because its so difficult to mentally register what i have in front of me, and make a choice...
    help!

I know there is a setting in iTunes but I am not sure if it applies to iOS. Especially if songs are purchased directly on iOS but you can experiment with it.
In Preferences > Store > Share details about your library with Apple

  • Problems with album artwork in album section of the music app

So I have all of the album artwork for my music, and they all show whenever I play each individual one and when I view the album. But when I'm just scrolling through the albums on my phone, they don't show unless I tap on them. This bugs me as a perfectionist! Here is what I mean...
    Help would be greatly appreciated!

Delete the affected music from your iPhone and sync it back from from iTunes on your computer. You can delete music by swiping across the title and pressing the red Delete.

  • I downloaded an album on itunes using my new itouch; but it's only allowing me to put three songs at any one time into the music app...how can i get it to just move them all in there?

i downloaded an album on itunes using my new itouch; but it's only allowing me to put three songs at any one time into the music app...how can i get it to just move them all in there?

hi philly, thanks for getting back to me, especially on such a busy day.
I don't think that's quite the issue though. I bought an album and it appears in 'my purchases' within the itunes app. Yet, in order to listen to the music, i must use the 'music' app and in this application, there are only three tracks displayed at any one time from my downloaded album.
I can 'download all' from the 'my purchases' section but that still doesn't help, it just keeps the last three tracks downloaded in the music app.
I have the 'icloud' enabled and wondered if it had anything to do with that.
i have successfully downloaded another full album totally into the music app, but this first album is causing me problems.

  • Full Albums not Showing up in Music App

I've been having problems with my album tab in the music app. In some albums not all of the songs appear in the album and say "Show Complete Album" when I tap that the songs that are not on the album appear in the album but have the "download" button on the side, but it's not clickable.
When I go into the songs tab the songs that are missing in the albums tab are there. I'm really not sure how to fix this.
Maybe it's an iTunes problem.I'm not really sure.

This could be related to the tags the album(s) are assocated with. Are they albums you purchased from the Apple Store, transferred from CD, or something else. If it's "something else," it could be that your iTunes library doesn't have the tags needed to manage the sound.
In any case, post with your comments. Interesting problem.

  • Loaded IOS 7 and now notice that in the Music App cannot choose format to display all my albums as a matrix, Loaded IOS 7 and now notice that in the Music App cannot choose format to display all my albums as a matrix

After loading IOS 7 i note that there is no longer a choice of how you want albums displayed in the MUSIC App!
I used to find it useful to display them all as a matrix and then choose by touching the relevant album cover!
This app now lists the albums as a list alphabetically which means I have to scroll thru the list to find the album I want. Can we have this facility back?
I called the support desk and he could not find this feature!

    Exactly!
This is all about the experience and accessibility. I don't even mind if the new desing is beautiful or not, but if I find myself, like you, avoiding looking for my music, my experience becomes frustrating. I have about 35 albums of a single artist and I used to love going over them and choose the right thing for me, especially being on the road a lot, and now I have to think twice about even entering his name.
I really hope Apple will take those kind of things into consideration when they issue updates for ios 7, and maybe also give us back the goole search which was embeded into the spotlight search (which is really not that big of a request).
And for your 4s - get the new iphone, it's MUCH better

  • Album splitting and disappearing from Music App

    Hi there!
I have a bunch albums in iTunes and Music App and they're splitting and disappearing randomly this **** is really annoyin me. Does anyone know how to fix and end this mess up?
Here are the screenshots of iTunes and Music App.
House Of Pain albums appears in iTunes:
But not in the Music App (I've bought those albums couple days ago via iTunes on iPhone, but today they gone):
And another issue with splitting the albums randomly:
    Same album in iTunes:
The only way I found is to Reset To Factory Defaults. But ****, I can't do this thing each time I buy music
Looking forward for any ideas. Cheers!

    Hi rugzmsk,
I'm sorry to hear you are having these issues with your music in iTunes and the Music app. If you are having unusual organization or splitting issues with your albums, you may want to check for the issues noted in the following article:

  • Album Art Sorting incorrectly in Compilations/Albums iphone Music App listing/tab

Album Art Sorting incorrectly in Compilations/Albums iphone Music App listing/tab
Sounds like a mouthful, but basically im saying that I have a bunch of compilations that when displayed in itunes on my pc,
show the album art which is set for the first track. This is to be expected.
But when i upload the compilations to my iPhone 5, and i open up the Music app and select the compilations tab...
The same compilations show another album art that is actually associated with another track in the compilation.
When i looked for a pattern, i found that it would basically take the album art from the track in the compilation based on the artists name in reverse alphabetical order.
So if i had album art associated with every track in the compilation, normally it would show in the listing the album art of the first track... but now it was actually the album art of the artist name starting closest to the letter z.
I've tested this many times. very annoying. but to explain again...
If i have a compilation containing artists from Coldplay to Ziggy Marley... no matter where in the listing Ziggy Marley is listed first to last... it will display the Album art associated to Ziggy Marley in the List view for the Compilations or Albums tab in the Music app on an iPhone 5.
Normally you would expect it to show the album art associated with the first track in the listing as it does in Itunes so as to keep uniformity between what you upload in iTunes and what you see in the Music app on the iPhone.
THIS IS A BUG APPLE!!!... test it for yourselves... someone broke your db sorting in the new itunes. ITunes 11, with iPhone 5
    Please fix!
    Thank you kindly...

another note... when i select the album from the list (on the iphone, in the music app) and it slides over to show all tracks in the compilation...
it then shows the proper album art as it should.
Also, when i check cover flow it then shows another incorrect cover?

  • IPad music app: album count incorrect/too large in artist view

    Hello,
My problem isn't critical, but it is really annoying. My third generation iPad is showing incorrect album counts for artists under artist view in the Apple music app.
For example, I have just one Coldplay album (Viva La Vida) uploaded to my iPad, but the music app reads the following under the album/artwork in artist view: "10 songs, 15 albums".
I have turned the iPad on and off. I have done a hard reset (by holding home and power button down until iPad shuts off and then tirns on again). I have restored the iPad from a back up through iTunes. I have restored it to factory settings through iTunes and set it up as a new iPad. I have erased the iPad using the iPad "settings/general/reset/erase all contents and settings" option. I have synced the iPad with iTunes and utilized the music tab to replace the music on the iPad. I have uploaded the albums through the iTunes store. I have synced them from my computer.
NONE of these options have worked. They all result in incorrect album counts.
This seems to be a problem which surfaced after I upgraded to iOS6, but I am not sure if that is what caused the issue.
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Cubulous

This is some sort of issue with iOS6. There are several threads (and theories) as to why this is happening. But the bottom line is, Apple needs to correct the problem.
One person indicated that the actual number of albums (by a particular artist) in his iTunes Library was the number of albums indicated on the iPad, regardless of the number of albums he chose to sync. In other words, if I have 10 albums by artist "ABC" in my iTunes Library, but chose to sync only 5 of them, the iPad would still indicate 10 albums by "ABC" (because it's looking to the iTunes Library for the album count instead of the number of actual albums that were synched to the iPad). While that theory makes sense, I found it to be somewhat untrue, at least in my case.
What I discovered is, if you rename or make a change to any of the metadata associated with a track from a particular album, then that album is duplicated when you sync, displaying the original album tracks (sans the one or two you changed) under the album name and a second version is created (using the exact same album name) but displaying only the track or tracks you modified. This in turn, increases your album count by one. So instead of showing the entry as just one album, the count now reads two for the same title. To make things even more confusing, if you go back and modify both versions of the album, successully combining the two back into one, so to speak (this can be done by renaming the artist to some other name, synching, then renaming it back to the correct artist), the album will then display correctly (just one "vesrion" showing on the iPad), but the album count remains unchanged (still indicating two). Basically, the count isn't reset, but remains incorrect.
Hopefully, I didn't confuse everyone. But it's difficult to explain. From everything I've read, it appears to be a combination of things; Album count and display, as well as creating additional album "instances" if any tracks are modified.
In any event, I hope they fix it soon. Because if you have a large music library like mine, it takes no time to really screw things up!

  • Removing the 'music note' - Can i control what album cover is displayed as the cover album under the artists tab in the Music app?

Ive searched for the longest and havent found a solution to removing the 'music note' . For example, i might have 10 albums under a particular artist, 1 of which i have no cover art for and it seems that thats the album chose to display. No matter the year or particular order the album falls in under the artist. Most artists that have a missing album cover dont show it but the ones that do still annoy me. I know im not the first to ask this so what can be done? Help me out
P.s. this is an issue ive had since the ipad 2 as the music app hasnt changed. Im running the latest software (5.1)

Its not the cover art itself, I know how to ADD album art.. Some albums just dont have cover art for whatever reason - problem is, that these albums are randomly chosen as the first album cover of an artist in the music library on my ipad. For example, i have a local artist album with no cover - he has 4 albums but the one thats diplayed at their name is of course the music note indicating theres no album artwork.
So why the **** does it choose the ONE album with no artwork and is there a way i can designate which album i want displayed for a particular artist?

  • Can't see albums in Music app

    OK, strange one this:
Updated to iOS7 on my iPhone5 last week, so far so good.
Just today, randomly, the iTunes radio button appeared at the bottom of the music app (where I used to have the 'album' button). The album button has now changed itself so that it now only shows the album I was listening to at the time. I can't see the list of all of my albums.
Any ideas? I'll post a screen shot to show what I mean:

Be sure you have iOS 5.1.1 installed on your iPad.
Then you will find them on genres and then literature!

  • How can I change the order of albums on iphone music app?

Recently went through two iTunes updates that I feel are not in tune with how my music was sorted before. Prior to the first update (forgot how long ago it was and which version it was), under the music app on my iPhone 5S when you tapped on an artist the next page would display all albums under that artist separately. Meaning I was able to play one album at a time. After the update, now when you tap on an artist you get all the albums (with each song under each album) showing on one page all lumped together. I preferred playing each album separately, rather than having the following album play after the previous one. Well, I was able to get over that. That is until the most recent iOS update. Now the album orders reversed completely based on date of release. Whereas before the albums were listed in order based on release date, now the first album that shows up under each artist is sorted by the most current release. This is so ANNOYING; why do they keep changing things around? Is there any way to sort the order so that the albums are listed in order of when they were released?

When syncing folders the photos are ordered by capture date - the only way to alter the order (apart from using iPhoto or Aperture on a Mac) is to amend the photo's capture dates : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4221

  • Is ther a way to quickly delete whole albums in the music app in iOS 7?

I often download new music and need to remove old music to make space.  I use Match, so I almost never sync with a computer these days, and even when I do I don't manage my music that way.  The music app in iOS 7 seems to have no way to delete albums, just individual songs.  This is very tedious when I want to remove one album and replace it with another album.  Happily, I can still download a whole album with one tap.  Has anyone found the secret to deleting albums?

it looks like they took out the "Show" option under Mail settings completely and added a Flag choice instead. Don't know why.
