Album FLow stopped working in iTunes

All of a sudden Album flow says "Itunes is unable to browse album covers on this computer". I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes and that was not help. I have it rebuild the library and that was not help. So what do I do now?

Correct the problem is with the Cover Flow view where the artwork will not display. The art work displays in Album View.

    I've also read somewhere about using Win Rar to extract files to do with apple mobile device support from the itunes installer file, would you recommend that to?     It's a little more involved than just doing a standalone AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi install, I'm afraid. The relevant drivers in AMDS are not digitally signed for 64-bit XP, so you have to force XP to accept a driver install that it would try its damnedest to not do. There's no driver issues for other 64-bit componentry in the installer package (I think the GEAR drivers install on XP 64-bit systems), but I believe there's still a bit of fancy footwork involved in getting them installed too ... although it's been a long time since I've looked at an instruction set, and I might not be recalling those things correctly. (So if you're not comfortable with system modifications, it might be best to steer clear of the Orca-based techniques ...)

    I have abotu 5400 songs in my library, about 90% are MP3s I have ripped from my CDs.
    Recently I have noticed that certain entire albums which have worked in the past stop playing... they are still listed in the library, the files actually reside where they are supposed to, and the MP3 files will even play in other apps like Windows Media Player.
    Sometimes files like this will still play on my iPod. In most cases, though, if I were to navigate to that particular album on my iPod and try to play it, the ipod would attempt to play each track for about one second, and pretty quickly skip through the entire album.
    When I click on them in iTunes, nothing happens. No error, just no response at all. I also notice that when this happens, the "Album Artwork Not Modifiable" message comes up in the album artwork window. I checked to see if these files had somehow become read-only, but that does not appear to be the case. All of the play history for the tracks is intact.
    Most of the library is fine.
    Any ideas?

    Here's what I posted in the lounge....
    - Song is in an Apple Lossless format
    - Song file is present and visible within the Windows Explorer
    - Properties indicate that it is not Read-Only or Hidden
    - Properties can be changed back and forth within WinExp
    - Song reference visible but not playable within iTunes
    - Reference cannot accept any Album Artwork (Not Modifiable message)
    - Other attributes can be modified: title, album, artist, etc.
    - Song cannot be converted within iTunes (comes up as a 'null' song: no time and minimal filesize)
    - A copy of the song made in Windows environment and moved to a temp folder cannot be successfully 'Added' to iTunes. Result: no time and minimal filesize
    The song came in originally with a boatload of text in the title, artist and album. I am wondering if the ID tags are somehow corrupted, and preventing the song from playing within iTunes. All other songs from this album are playing fine.
    When attempting to play this particular song, the speaker flashes for a second, then moves to the next song in the list. The time slider-bar does not move off of zero.
    I have tried to change the start time, but that does not change its behaviour.
    And...
    It's an Apple Lossless file of 3:15 in time, 22.6MB in size, and listed at 969kbps. The size corresponds favorably to other files of similar length. The time listed is spot-on to what Allmusic.com has listed for it (Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band - You're Sixteen, You're beautiful and You're Mine - Anthology...So Far).
    Other than that, I cannot tell if it got corrupted.
    I did download and install Tag&Rename to look at the file. It gave me a jpg error when viewing the file. I erased the 'garbage' in that tag, but after saving, the file would still not play within iTunes. Tried to erase all tags with a backup copy, but that did not play as well.
    I don't have access to the original CD, but will in a few days. I can try re-importing it, but it would be nice to understand what went haywire -- or at least have a method to investigate it further.

    Hi all, I don't know what's Happened but view by cover flow has stopped working for some reason . view by list & view by grid still works but when i goto select view by cover flow, all I get is a blank screen where the albums should be & a empty space at the bottom. When I first installed Itunes & Quick time, view by cover flow was working. I havent used it tho for a couple of weeks then thought i'll try it again & now nothing. Is there a fix I can try to get it back to the way it was before it stopped working? It doesn't affect the use of Itunes in any way, (I can still sync to my 32gig Ipod touch no problem) but as I do use view by cover flow, I miss it & having to use view by grid & the moment (just means a double click on the album to see the tracks that's all), Yes all my drivers & directx are up to date & Itunes & quicktime are the latest versions.     So I found out how to clean this up. Make sure to replace "USER_NAME" with the right account name.
    1. Remove Itunes, Quicktime, and Apple Mobile device Support.
    2. Reboot PC
    3. Delete C:\Program Files\Itunes Directory
    4. Delete C:\Document and Settings\USER_NAME\Application Data\Apple Computer
    5. Delete C:\Document and Settings\USER_NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple Computer
    6. Delete C:\Document and Settings\USER_NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple
    7. Reboot
    8. Reinstall Itunes
    This reset all of the settings and brought back the cover flow as well as keeping my existing files.
    Obviously there was a easier way of doing this.. but a full clean install helps.

    I have had the same problem. I get audio, but am unable to play any video within itunes. The video works fine on my ipod nano. Did you ever get this resolved?

    I have a PC running Windows 7 - 64bit OS. I have had iTunes installed since the beginning of the year on this computer and have not had any trouble with it except actually using iTunes but that is a different issue. The other day I inadvertently downloaded "Tuneup" which I don't want or need. I firstly want to say I have no concrete evidence that Tuneup has led to my problems. It may be coincidental that Tuneup and my problems appeared together.
    Tonight when I started iTunes, Tuneup took over a quarter of the screen on the right side. I closed this program. When the list of tracks was ready to be loaded from the CD and I went to" file" - "get info" option the message "iTunes has stopped working" would appear. Closing this message resulted in iTunes shutting down. I should say that before I closed the message the computer had essentially ground to a halt. The other curious thing was the behavour of the mouse pointer on the screen - the only place where it was visible was in the "iTunes has stopped working" box. Moving it out of the message box resulted in it disappearing. It would reappear if it were caused to wander into the message box.
    I subsequently removed Tuneup (control panel, programs and features, etc...) iTunes had not improved. I then deleted iTunes, firstly saving the library to a file on the desktop. Then I did a fresh(?) install of ITunes but there seems to be no change. A curious thing was even though I had deleted iTunes through the control panel the library was still there as if I had done nothing. The whole thing is a complete mystery and extremely galling.
    If someone has had a similar problem I would really like to know what the fixes were.

    I had a similar problem. I'm using 64bit Windows7. The following solution worked for me:
    COPY    QTMovieWin.dll
    FROM    c:\program files (x86)\common files\apple\apple application support\
    INTO     c:\program files (x86)/iTunes
    Also, reinstalling Quicktime has worked for others having this same issue.

    After I open Itunes and it does the Itunes Match it stops working. I have the most recent version, I have ran all the diagnostics I can on my end. Any clues? Extremely frustrated right now.

    I have a problem with my iPod Touch connecting to iTunes. It is a new
    It has worked fine in the past, but stopped working once I upgraded from OS 10.4.x to OS 10.5.. I can still see/ sync my old 3rd generation iPod just fine.
    I am currently using iTunes 8.0.1. The iPod is charging fine with the cord provided. The iPod works fine, but I would like to load the Apps I purchased and update the podcasts I listen to.
    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    I apologize for posting a bit early.  Found an Alpine manual online and i needed to set the AUX port to off.  They also recommended a reset of the Touch.  After doing these two things it is now working.  Maybe this will help someone else.

    I really hope that this is the right sub-forum for this.
    Here goes:
    A few days ago I finally upgraded to 9.1.1.12 and today I was in for a nasty surprise: I can't move MP3s from windows explorer into the iTunes window any more.
    I often create playlists and then drag files I get from a few bands I follow directly into those playlists. This is an easy and painless process. My FTP client downloads the files into a prearranged folder whenever they get a new song up, and I then open said folder and drag and drop the file into iTunes.
    I just got a new song to listen to today, wanted to drag it in an... Nothing. Just the black, crossed-through circle of "No".
    It worked last week. It worked the week before. It worked the years before.
    I got Win7 64 in April. It worked on it since then.
    It stopped working today.
    And no, I won't let iTunes consolidate or organize my media. It only organizes files bought via the iTunes store, nothing I rip from CDs or obtain otherwise, as those files have to be playable by two other players as well. But, again: Until this night it worked without a problem. And after the new update... Stopped.
    Is there a new option I'm missing?

    I was able to fix it.
    I simply stopped running iTunes in Admin mode. For some reason, running it in administrator mode makes it behave "worse" than not doing so.
    When I ran it as a normal program, I was able to drag files into it correctly again.
    Which is weird, as the last version was also running in admin mode, but worked perfectly.

    I'm expreriencing the same conditions with the same environment.  Windows 8, iTunes-64 11.1.2.32, iTunes Store with a processing bar up to 80 +/- and the POPUP MESSAGE OF "iTunes stopped working. The error ...."
    I UNINSTALLED, iTUNES WITH NO POSITIVE RESULT.  I CHECKED THE FIREWALL AND IS THE SAME DEFINITION AS THE PREVIOUS ITUNES VERSION.
    My iTunes StoreS from my iPhones ARE OK.
    I'm spending a lot of time of research for WINDOW'S iTUNE with no solutions....

    My new iPad 2 stopped connecting to iTunes when linked to my pc and will not sync.  It was working fine and then just stopped.  Error message tells me to reset iPad 2 to original settings but I don't want to lose all of my downloads, setting, info etc.   I updated iTunes on my pc and still didn't work.  I then updated to ios6 and still the problem persist.  So far I'm very dissapointed in this purchase.  May go back to Android.  Can anyone help.

    Alright, my issue had resolved itself in 4-5 hours after the original post. The photos in an empty Photo Stream simply started appearing without any involvement from my side: I just picked up the iPad, opened the Photos app and the Photo Stream began slowly filling up with the images, including the ones taken by the other devices in the "blackout" period (once again, my Photo Stream was empty because I tried to turn it off and back on to see if that would solve the problem.. it didn't).
    I would suggest then to everyone with the issue to give it till the end of the day to see if things sort themselves out in the iCloud. Maybe there was some sort of bottleneck / too many requests from newly updated iOS 5.1 devices.
