Album List Always Starts At Beginning

Let's say I am scrolling through an album list (plain album view) and select an album but then decide it's not the one I want or maybe i accidentally selected the one above or below it, when I touch the button to go back to the album list, it always takes me back to the very top of the list instead of to the album I just came from. This is really annoying because I always have scroll, scroll, scroll to get back to where I was. The same is true if I am listening to an album and then want to choose the next album in the list. I touch the back button and then have to scroll all the way through the list again. Is it like this for everyone, or is this a bug in my Ipod Touch?

just curious, why not use the album art view if you are going through albums? when i browse this way, if i click back it goes to the album i was just looking at... just flip the ipod touch on its side... However, for your issue i am not sure.. i never browse albums or songs that way.. I always use album art view...

  • [Bug] Playing stream audio from the editor almost always starts from beginning.

Whenever I am creating a movie clip with an audio layer set to "stream" I usually click certain points of the movie and hit enter to see and hear it. In Flash CC however, it seems about 95% of the time no matter what frame I am on when I hit enter the audio starts from the beginning and is not in sync. There have been a few cases in which the audio started at right frame but I haven't yet been able to isolate the process. Audio works great in the exported SWF, this issue is just just with the editor.

This bug still hasn't been fixed. I don't recommend Flash for any animator; the issue makes syncing to music and vocals extremely frustrating. This bug has been around for months without solution.
Running as administrator does not solve the problem.
You will have the audio bug even if you do not have a Beats Audio Soundcard.
The longer and more complicated your project, the more frequently the bug happens. When it first begins (around 15-30 seconds worth of frames and about 7 layers) you can make the audio stream as it should by clicking your audio track, setting it to "stop," saving your project, and setting the audio to "stream" again.
However, when you have about 60 seconds on your timeline, the bug happens a lot more, and you have to actually close the project to get the sound to work again if you do not have the patience to wait for it to fix itself. The wait ranges from 30 seconds to several minutes to never fixed until you close. It's highly unpredicatable. Sometimes it is not enough to close the project, in which case you must quit Flash and start it up again.
It happens with both mp3 and wav sounds.
After a month of this bug, I still can't pinpoint what causes it. It's completely random.
This post suggests it has something to do with scrubbing the timeline. I haven't been able to replicate the bug by doing this. It happens whether or not you use the slider or just click on frames to navigate.
    My system specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium (Service Pack 1)
    64-bit operating system
Processor: Intel i5-4670K CPU @3.40 GHz
    RAM: 8 GB
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Graphics Card
Audio is also NVIDIA High Definition Audio
The bug happens even if I plug in headphones to a regular audio port not on the graphics card.
Other audio types I have are the Intel Display Audio and Realtek High Definition Audio. I've tried messing with audio settings to no avail.

  • Playlist always starts at the begiing after turning on iPod.

I originally posted this in the iPod classic section but thought U might get an answer here too:
So I've had a 5.5 Pod loaded with many playlists for a year or so. I Just got my 160GB Classic, has about 100GB of music loaded now and the latest iTunes with new interface. I have several huge playlists that I play in my studio all day. So now when I stop the Pod and start again later or the next day (yes the iPod is off for a long time) , that play list always starts from the beginining and not from where I had left off.
My old pod and the last iTunes would always start again where I had left off. Fo instance I always have shuffle turned on and if I had gone through 303 songs, the next time I turn on and start the ipod and same playlist, the 303rd song would begin-right where I left off the day before. Now it starts at the beginning, track 1 of xxxx many songs every time rather than where I was when I turned it off. What's up with this? A glitch???

If you press Pause and power off, or play sonething else and go back, the selected playlist will start from the beginning.
It has always been this way.
If you press Pause and let it go to sleep itself, then press Play, it should start from where it left off.
If the iPod goes into deep sleep, the playlist will start from the beginning.

  • Ipod always starts at the beginning.

it used to work fine, started back at the song I shut it down with, and now it doesn't. it goes right back to the very first song again, making me have to forward through all the songs to get where i was. also starts all play lists in backward order. reset it to factory settings. No good. anyone help? thanks

You might try pausing the shuffle before shutting it off. This is the way I do mine and it always starts up where I left off even if it is in the middle of a song. Remember that when you turn it back on that you have to hit the play button twice. Hope this helps.

  • CE Flash files always start at the beginning?

I have had an online Continuing education course designed,
which has the main contents embedded into .asp pages.
The problem is that when customers "log-out", then return and
"log in" again whithout closing thier browser, the fllash file
always starts at the beginning, rather than where my database
    indicates.
I "think" this is caused by the flashplayer plugin "keeping"
the flash file in memory, and starting the "movie" again at the
beginning? Thus if they close thier browser, deleting the flash
file from memory, and re-starting the browser again, and "logging
in" again, it functions correctly, beginning the flash file on the
correct page (which is indicated in the database)
If this IS what is happening, can this be corrected, so that
upon "Log out" the flash file will be automatically removed,
without the need to re-start the browser?

I believe this will work for you. Does for me. Go to SysPref/Speech/Text to Speech. Check box of: Speak selected text when the key is press. Set key. Open the pdf and highlight what you want to hear. Hit key you set. When it's done with it's spiel highlight more text and hit key. It auto erases previous highlight. You'll see. It's not very ideal, but it's what is dealt.

  • Why do videos always start over from the beginning? A bug??

    Hi,
I just did the update and still have the same issue where videos always start from the beginning, when I WANT them to start where they left off. I went into Settings>Video>Start Playing and selected "Where Left Off",  but that didn't help. Is this a bug?? I want it to act as it did on my 3G where I can exit the middle of a video and it will start from that point next time I enter the video... Any ideas???

I have the same problem, not only with videos but with my playlist as well. Everything seems to restart from the beginning.

  • How can I make my movies always start from the beginning?

I want to use my iPod to present short videos as part of a live presentation. I've conquered the hurdles, and have the iPod sending video out to my projector, but I want to ensure that every movie starts at the beginning, even if I had cut it short in the last presentation.
I thought I saw a setting for this somewhere, but now I can't find it.

  • Always start songs at the beginning?

I sometimes use my iPod for music at parties I throw. If I have been playing it for myself, and stop it in the middle of a song, when it comes to that song during a party it starts in the middle - where I stopped it. And that just sounds stupid.
How do I make it always start at the beginning of every song?
    A.M.

    Okay..
I was under the impression that 'Remember Playback Position' set the order in which songs were played, and since I want to preserve that, I do have it turned on.
My experience is that it does work this way, and if I don't have it turned on then the songs default to alphabetical order by title.
    Am I confused here?
Is there some other option that preserves the order of the songs?
Is there some discoverable help file that explains the 'Remember Playback Position' option?
Is there some discoverable help file that explains how to control what position a song is in a playlist?
Yes, I'm asking more questions than you've answered, but this is not at all clear to me.

  • Car Stereo use and Nano - always starts at the beginning

when I plug my nano into my car stereo, it ALWAYS starts playing the first song by the first artist. Always. Even starts up as soon as the stereo recognizes the players.  How about resume last song?  Or not playback at all until I select something?  Is this a iPod setting?  Maybe it is the stereo setting.

Toyota with a Pioneer GPS with audio.  I did discover that when using a classic iPod vs. a nano, the playback worked as expected.  It picks up right where it left off.  So, it's definitely the nano, but to be honest, I really don't know what generation the thing is.  I don't think it is gen 7.  It was a gift.

  • Printing Album List

Help! When I try to print my album listing with artwork, it caps out at 37 pages when my full library should feasibly take up about 75 pages. Any suggestions?

The Makeatextlist script will make a list with only one datafield.
I need the album/artist info if I'm to have any chance of getting my collection in order, as a lot of the CD's have hopeless names, like CD1, CD3 and whatnot.....
(I like to buy compilation CDs... )
I guess I better start learning Applescript myself, or do a print to PDF and a lot of cut'n paste...
Gadgetman, Yes, compilation CDs are always the challenge for this.
If you happen to know Excel that would work much better than PDF. You can copy/paste data from your open iTunes window into an Excel spreadsheet.
Once you have it in Excel, you can use the multi-column sort and the data filter capabilities to get the list exactly the way you want it, and then do a print.

  • Album art not showing in album list view

the album art is there, has been manually added, but is not always showing in album list view.
none of the albums has been purchased from itunes, all are manual import from physical cds, where the album art has been added manually.
albums seem to either show or not show album art (i.e. it appears to be the same for all albums every time i start itunes. restarting itunes also does not help). re-adding album art does not make any difference.
this started to happen several software updates ago and has continued until the current version.
does anyone know how to force itunes to display album art?
    thanks

iTunes > view > always show artwork

  • How to export comps as audio files that start at beginning of song?

    Hi all
I'm a failry casual Logic user, looking for some insights from you experts out there!
Right now I'm helping out on an album project which involves me laying down various parts in a different location to the main project.  Basically I'm getting rough mixes of the songs which I'm importing into my own Logic 8 project as single stereo files.  Then I'm recording my various bits so that I can later send back individual wavs of each track I've recorded.
I've recorded various takes and made a few comps that I want to use for my file export.  However, I haven't always started recording at the very beginning of the song, hence my audio regions don't start at the same point.  I want to give the producer files that can be pulled into the main project with the exact same starting point.
I've tried poking around in the menus and the user guide to figure out how to do this, but without much success.  I've tried "flatten and merge" on my comps, and have then tried drawing some "blank" regions to fill in the space back to the song starting point.  I thought I could then glue them together and export as one audio file, but it's not working.
Before I get myself too tied up in knots, can anyone recommend a "right" way to do this?
    Thanks a lot!

Thanks!  I'll try that third option and see if it works for us.
I'd still like to solve this via option 1 anyway, as it could be useful in other applications (ie when collaborating with systems that don't support the timestamp feature).
The problem is that if I use the pencil tool to draw an empty region, it won't let me glue it to the existing recorded region.  I get the error "Folders and Regions or Aliases cannot be merged."
Also, if I double-click the new region it opens in the piano roll rather than the sample editor, which seems bizarre.  Surely you can't combine MIDI and audio regions on the same track??  This could be a clue as to why it won't let me glue these regions together though.
Note that in the file I'm currently trying this with, I've flattened and merged my takes, having chosen the one I want to keep.  So, I no longer have the take folders visible (and actually, I don't know how I'd get them back if I wanted to, but I guess that's a different question entirely).  My point being that Folders aren't in use here, despite what the error message says.

  • Is it possible in iTunes 11 to get the old album list view, with covers and track listings like in 10?

Is it possible in iTunes 11 to get the old album list view, with covers and track listings like in 10?
If not, then to me that is a huge retrograde step

No, the old album list view is not an option in iTunes 11...
You can restore much of the look & feel of the previous version with these shortcuts:
ALT to temporarily display the menu bar
CTRL+B to show or hide the menu bar
CTRL+S to show or hide the sidebar
CTRL+/ to show or hide the status bar (won't hide for me on Win XP)
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
If you don't like having different coloured background & text in the Album view use Edit > Preferences > General and untick Use custom colours for open albums, movies, etc.
If you still feel the need to roll back to iTunes 10.7 first download a copy of the 32 bit installer or 64 bit installer as appropriate, uninstall iTunes and supporting software, i.e. Apple Application Support & Apple Mobile Device Support. Reboot. Restore the pre-upgrade version of your library database as per the diagram below, then install iTunes 10.7.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to scan the media folder and catch up with any changes made since the backup file was created.

  • Scored Items not starting at beginning on second try.

I have a movie that has no actual quiz items yet when the
student exits the course I want the LMS course summary page to read
Completed - 100%, Passed. Score - 100%. I can achieve this on our
IBM LMS by adding a scored interaction on my Next button on the
next to last page. Works great. I get the results displayed that I
    want.
The issue comes up when the student launches the course a
second time. Not many do, but occasionally it happens. For some
reason the movie does not begin on the first page. It launches and
jumps to the page after the scored button, skipping the entire
movie. I have tried moving the scored button to the first page, but
the movie after launching jumps to a screen in the middle of the
presentation. There is no logical reason as to why it jumps to the
middle screen, it just does. I have tried placing the the scored
interaction in a number of different places and even having
multiple scored interactions, nothing seems to work. Any
suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for
    your help.

    CitizenseLearning,
I have very limited experience with working with an LMS so
take this for what it is worth, but this sounds like it may have
something to do with bookmarking within the LMS itself. I say this
since Captivate does not contain any kind of bookmarking capability
itself and should always start on the first page unless there is an
outside app (Flash actions script, LMS bookmarking, etc.) telling
    it to do otherwise.
