Album list view change in iPod.

Please advise how to change album list view in iPod to simple?
I mean so no artwork display during navigation, just like in older ipod models.
I use iPod 5g. classic 160 Gb.

Answer "No" is the most easy.
Hope someone from apple team will this post.
This is a user to user forum. Apple employees don't post here as a general rule.
And tt's answer, while easy, is also correct. You can't change the album view so that there is no artwork.

  • Is it possible in iTunes 11 to get the old album list view, with covers and track listings like in 10?

Is it possible in iTunes 11 to get the old album list view, with covers and track listings like in 10?
If not, then to me that is a huge retrograde step

No, the old album list view is not an option in iTunes 11...
You can restore much of the look & feel of the previous version with these shortcuts:
ALT to temporarily display the menu bar
CTRL+B to show or hide the menu bar
CTRL+S to show or hide the sidebar
CTRL+/ to show or hide the status bar (won't hide for me on Win XP)
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
If you don't like having different coloured background & text in the Album view use Edit > Preferences > General and untick Use custom colours for open albums, movies, etc.
If you still feel the need to roll back to iTunes 10.7 first download a copy of the 32 bit installer or 64 bit installer as appropriate, uninstall iTunes and supporting software, i.e. Apple Application Support & Apple Mobile Device Support. Reboot. Restore the pre-upgrade version of your library database as per the diagram below, then install iTunes 10.7.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to scan the media folder and catch up with any changes made since the backup file was created.

  • Sort order when using "Album by Artist/Year" album list view

In iTunes 10, I seem to have lost the sorting I've been using for the past 5 years at least. I use the "Album List" view, and have the album artwork showing to the left of the songs. I see the new "Album by Artist/Year" sort option in the album artwork column, and that is how I would like it to sort. However, now the album are arranged by artist, and within the artist by the year they were released as tagged in the info for each song. I want the newest albums at the top, and I cannot figure out how to make it sort that way. What do I need to do? Basically I want it in descending order by release date, but still sorted by album.

It appears they are, although I refuse to believe this is the accepted behaviour - has no one else complained about this?
It could simply be a weakness is the way this was all designed. If you look at the information Gracenote uses, it's not unusual for all tracks on a 60's compilation album to be incorrectly listed as the same year, often the year the compilation was released. The same thing tends to happen with re-issued albums. That's down to whoever inputs the information into Gracenote for that album, often a bored record company employee.
First of all, you could try changing the year for each documentary to the year the album was produced and see if that fixes the problem. If it does, then you have to decide how to handle it.
    Accept it as it is.
Change the year for the documentary to the same year as the album and simply kid yourself that it's the correct year. (I'm not being flippant, but if the documentary is all footage from album release year, then "technically", the doumentary is from that 60's year.)
Leave the year of the documentary track blank, but put the year (2010) into the track's "Comments" field instead.
Propose a workable solution to Apple via Apple Feedback. (I am being a bit flippant now. Sorry, but you'll be in for a long wait before anything might change.)
Get Gracenote to change their text fields, get the people who input the information into Gracenote to do so correctly and then get Apple to change iTunes to recognise those changes. (Now I am being very flippant. Good luck with this one!) Oh! And hope Apple never decide to change from Gracenote to someone else!
Number 2 or 3 are probably your best bet.

  • Make Album List view default for playlists

I have my library broken up with playlists for each artist and I like to view the contents of each playlist in Album List view.
iTunes remembers when you switch to this view, but after upgrading to iTunes 10 all playlists are back to list view, and it's a pain in the *** to switch to album view (especially since they've changed the keyboard shortcut).
Does anyone know a way to set Album List as the default view? Or to switch all playlists to Album view in a group?

Same problem here.  I like Artist List view the best.  I cannot find a way to set the default view in iTunes 11 and it is making me NUTS!

  • "An Album List" View in ""Purchased on iPhone" Playlist

I just found out that "a album list" view button (2nd button from the left of 4 buttons) located upper right corner is not available with "Purchased on iPhone" playlist. It is available within a regular "Purchased" playlist. Does anyone have the same issue?

Weird, I see the same thing, though I'm pretty sure it wasn't there in the first build of iTunes 10, not that I visit that playlist often. I suspect this is a new fault feature. I can't see any point in the restiction so it may be unintended. Time to use iTunes Feedback methinks.

  • How do I get back album list view in iTunes 11?

I want it to look like this
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/inside-itunes/2010/09/new-album-list-view-option-in- itunes-10.html
But I can't seem to find a way now

This is what I want it to look like in EvilGnome's post. Is there a way?
Ignatia: Putting it on Songs tab then clicking on "Album" doesnt work as theres no resulting window that appears with album art and tracks after clicking on the Songs tab....its just a long list of track titles.
Basically i want the songs in text format but seperated by the album art to the left. like in EvilGnome's picture - not just a long list making it hard to figure out. Why Apple would even remove this option god knows....
Don't fix something that ain't broke.
Currently it looks like this using the songs tab in iTunes 11....no album art anymore
I want it to look like the pic below (pic from evilgnome's post and how i was using itunes previously):

  • Album list view for playlists

When I select Music (under Library) and select the Grid view, then select Artists, then double click on an artist I am presented with a list view grouped by album with album artwork on the left. I would like to get the same view for a selected playlist, but I can only get that view for specific albums or artists within the playlist. What I want is to see that album list view for every artist, album and song in the playlist. Is this possible? If not, is there some way to submit a feature request? Thanks.

Erm - use the List view?

  • CD cover not displaying in Album List view

A couple of my CDs cover art doesn't display in Album List view (second button from left of the 4).
However the art is definitely there. If I click any song in the CD, the art shows in the lower left, "Now Playing"
Or if I select a song and then CMD + I the art shows in Summary and in Artwork tabs just like
    all my other CDs.
I own the physical CD and ripped it and imported into iTunes and then scanned the art, saved
as .jpg and then selected all the tracks, clicked CMD + I and pasted into the Artwork square in
    the Info page.
I've done this same process TONS of times so I am at a loss why this is happening or how to
    fix it.
    Thoughts?

Its the Allman Bros live at the Fillmore. 2 CD set. I have different art and names for each.
    At Fillmore East (CD1)
    At Fillmore East (CD2)
and then the front cover for CD1 and a scan of the back of the CD cover for CD2, so all is different. Except the band name.
I deleted the art for each song and first imported to all the songs of each CD at one time. Each song had the art but the display of the whole CD still didn't display as before.
Deleted the art in each song one at a time, then this time Added the art to each song one at a time. Same problem. The art is 500 px at 72 dpi. I also tried saving the art as .png. Still didn't work. Ugh.
Now... you're suggesting that I trash the Album Artwork folder. Since I've imported manually about 100 CDs that iTunes didn't recognize, won't I lose all this work?

  • Album art not showing in album list view

the album art is there, has been manually added, but is not always showing in album list view.
none of the albums has been purchased from itunes, all are manual import from physical cds, where the album art has been added manually.
albums seem to either show or not show album art (i.e. it appears to be the same for all albums every time i start itunes. restarting itunes also does not help). re-adding album art does not make any difference.
this started to happen several software updates ago and has continued until the current version.
does anyone know how to force itunes to display album art?
    thanks

  • IPod Classic Album listing view

I recently bought iPod Classic touch 80 GB. In the iPod, when I go to Albums, it lists out everything but under every album name, it lists out Composer/Artist name. If there no names available, it puts Unknown there. Due to this extra line of information, the number of albums listed for each view is very limited. Can anyone help how do I disable the display of Composer/Artist information and just list the albums name? Thanks for all the help.

You can't change that, in Album view the Classic will display the Artist name under the Album, along with a thumbnail of the artwork (if available).

  • How to Set Album list view as default

    MacBook Pro 3,1
    SL 10.6.7
    iTunes 10.3.1
    inverted-store-links
if i use the »inverted-store-links« i always get the list-view instead the before used album-list.
i think the same problem with playlists always shown in list-view by default.
maybe there is a function at com.apple.itunes.plsit to set the default view.
    any other ideas are welcome.

    you could use this script:
    Change Hidden iTunes Preferences v2.4
This application will allow you to invoke hidden iTunes preferences:
    Show "Library" playlist
    Changing view setting is global
    Allow half-stars in ratings
    Hide "Ping" buttons
Show/hide arrow links -- to either search the iTunes Store or search your library
Load complete iTunes Store preview before playing
Create playlists for purchased song collections
Play songs while importing or converting
Create file names with track number
Maintain grid view for Search results
Option-click zoom button for Mini Player&

  • Album does not appear in Albums list but is on iPod

Several albums I have loaded onto my iPod do not show up in the Albums list. The strange thing is, is that they are on the iPod because I can search for the tracks and they are available on the iPod.
At first I thought they might be compilation albums, but I checked and they're not. I'm not sure why this is happening.
I have the latest version of iTunes and my Ipod classic has the latest firmware.
    Any help would be appreciated

Presumably you do have an album name entered for each of the tracks on these albums? When the track is playing, the song title is on the first line (of the iPod's display), the artist is on line two and the album name is on line three.
Is there anything special about the album names? Names beginning with a number digit will be placed after the letter z. Also, names in the Greek alphabet will be after z but before numbers! (I only happen to know as I have some Greek music on my iPod.) What about asterisks, question marks and so on? Perhaps there is a leading space _in front_ of the title, which might place the album out of alphabetical order.
What happens if you look at the album list in iTunes, in alphabetical order? Do they show up in the correct place?

  • Albums not being grouped in album list view?!

this has happened before, but i've been using album list a lot lately and this issue is very annoying. i have all of my album info on every album in my library, so there should be no reason for this issue to be arising.

  • Album list view

Why is it in my itunes library when I go to album list mode it may show 2 different listings for the same album with the song titles and artwork split up. I checked the info and everything is typed exactly the same so I don't know why it is seeing a difference. Is there a fix for this?

    Hello jdenis61,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at this article:
Why aren't songs with the same album art grouped together?
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1468
There are three reasons why songs from the same album may not be grouped together
The album names of the songs may differ slightly
The songs from the same album may have different artists
Not all songs in the album have the same "Album Artist" assigned to it
    Best of luck,
    Mario
