Album song lists displayed out of numerical order

Suddenly, the song lists for each album at the music store, are displayed out of numerical order. Is it something I did? If so how can I fix it? Makes it very hard to find and buy proper song.

The sort-order for songs can be changed by clicking on the various column headings in the Music Store display.
So make sure you've selected the left-most column for your sorting order.

  • Artists/albums/songs list too long!  Shortcut?

    Hi,
I've got so many artists in my iPod's list, it takes me far too long to find songs. Not so bad when you're walking around, but terrible when I'm in the car with the iTrip and I'm trying to find a song!
Is there any way I can break the Artists/Albums/Songs lists down into like.. A-K, L-Z? Or jump to a particular letter faster than 1 line at a time? I have looked in the settings but I can't find anything relevant.
If this isn't possible, maybe it would be a good idea for a future iPod feature?
    Thanks!

It isn't about how many tunes - rather the size of the files.
Look at the bottom of the iTunes window when viewing a playlist - it will show you number of tunes, time of playlist and the size of the entire playlist.

  • Import CD appears out of numerical order

Trying to add CD to iTunes in the order indicated on the CD. The list of songs to be imported shown on iTunes is not in the numerical order on the CD. How can I correct this and have the music imported in the correct order?

The apparent order of a  CD  depends upon how you have iTunes display it - https://discussions.apple.com/message/17827921 and https://discussions.apple.com//message18583827
Of course also make sure there is data entered for track number and that fields such as disc number and album artist are either all identical or all blank.

  • Won't display playlists in numerical order

    Hello,
My iPod won't display my playlists in numerical order. Playlist 1 is listed below number 2 and 3. I've tried dragging it with no success.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
By Default iChat uses port 5190 on the TCP Protocol to Login to the AIM servers.
It gets info back including some Text chats on port 5190 on the UDP protocol.
SOme modems and routers do not seem to like this use of the same port twice.
Go to iChat > Preferences > Accounts > Server Settings tab
Whilst Logged out of AIM change the port to 443
    Log back into AIM
Also consider deactivating "Animate Buddies" and/or stopping any AppleScript that "Scrolls" the Status Message.

  • IPod (40 gb) auto-scrolling through album song list

I have rebooted iPod twice. Select album from list. Press play. Can feel the iPod "whirling". "Song # of #" increases through available songs. No song is ever played.

I came to this website because I have the same exact problem with my iPOD, except mine is a 20gb, if anyone knows how to fix this please get back to me.

  • Ipod nono song list grayed out

We just got an ipod nano 2g. When we connect it to our PC and select it in itunes, the song list is grayed out. Any suggestions?

This is normal, by default your iPod/nano is set to "Auto update" where when you connect the nano to the PCiTUnes automaticly loads new songs and updates existing ones on the nano. With it on auto update the iPOd is in basic terms locked off. Usually theres no need to access songs off the nano cuz the original songs are on your PC.
If you do want to access and play songs from your nano, you will rightclick it in iTUnes, select "iPod Options" and in the following window set it to "Manual Update" With this feature on the list will not be grayed out and you can play songs from the nano. Only down side to this is you will have to manually add songs and playlist by dragging them over the ipod in iTunes and then dropping it. also with this feature on you will have to manually eject the nano from the PC EVERYTIME you connect it to a PC.
A good place for you to start is "iPod 101" to read and learn all the ropes about iPod, how to use it, features ect ect http://www.apple.com/support/ipod101/
Heres a direct link to the chapter in iPod 101 about auto updating and manual updating http://www.apple.com/support/ipod101/tunes/3/
Other notes since you just got an iPod is to learn the 5R's to solve most iPod problems and to get the latest iPod updater to keep your iPod software up to date with the latest bug fixes and new features for iPod. The 5R's can be found here http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/
The latest iPod updater adds bug fixes, volume limiter and I think this one is the one that added the "Hold menu button down to go directly to the main menu in iPod" and it can be downloaded here http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/

  • My song list is out of order (iPhone 5)

So, yesterday I noticed my iPhone 5 songs were scrambed alphabetically.  I don't know what caused it besides my changing of a setting in Music, "Group by Album Artist", which shouldn't have affected it.  I see two possible solutions:
    1. Syncing it to my iTunes
    2. Restoring it
Any other ideas?  The attached screenshot is typical of what I'm seeing:

Bump.  Syncing to iTunes had no effect.

  • Album Songs & Music Videos not playing in order

I've just bought an iPod Touch. On my iPod Classic, when I play albums it runs in the order of songs, but on my iPod Touch it will say play Track 1 and when that song has ended it may play any random song like Track 7 then back to Track 3.
All the music videos I have play in the order of the alphabet from A to Z, not in the album titles I've selected them to play on.
I have Shake to Shuffle switched off on my settings for Music. I'm not sure how to correct this, as my music appears to be on some sort of Shuffle mode.

I just solved the same problem on my new iPod Touch (3G, 32G, if it matters). FYI, I am a complete newbie when it comes to iPods, and so please excuse me if I don't identify things by their correct names.
When the first song on the album starts playing, there is a screen with a volume slider on the bottom, and the name of the artist and album at the top. There's also a progress bar for the song near the top, and two symbols on the left and right side of the screen just below that progress bar. Try tapping the one on the right, with the two intersecting/curvy arrows, even if it's not highlighted in blue - I think it gets 'stuck on', and just doesn't show that it's on.
I did this after deleting all the songs on my iPod, or even after a full restore, didn't fix the problem.
I hope this works for you. I found some great live recordings (made legally!) on the Web recently, and they just didn't sound right shuffled.

  • Can't listen to any music on my iPhone 5, when I press play it just skips to the next song, does that for a few seconds, then goes back to artist/album/song list. HELP!!

I just updated my iTunes on my laptop to the newest version. I connected my iPhone five to the laptop, and it asked me something about a restore. I wasn't thinking, confused "restore" with "sync" and I just hit yes.... I know, dumb. Anyways, I logged into iTunes on my laptop, downloaded all my purchased songs through the cloud, did a backup, then disconnected it. When I used my phone again, everything was different. All my backgrounds had changed, my apps were rearranged, I had old apps on my phone that I had previously deleted, etc., all signs pointing to me restoring my phone to a previous version.. None of that bothered me, I knew how to deal with it and just changed everything back to the way I had it before the restore, and everything was fine.
Until I went to listen to some music on my iPod. I made my album choice, selected a song, and instead if it playing, it was silence. I looked at my phone and it was skipping through the songs without ever playing a single sound. That bar that shows how far through the song you are? It never moved from zero, but my songs were skipping and skipping and skipping, almost like I was hitting the "skip track" button, only faster.
Should I re-restore my phone? Would that possibly fix it? I've checked, and my iOS and my iTunes and iPod version are all up to date.
PLEASE HELP ME!! I can't find this topic anywhere in support, and I NEEEEEED my music.

    Hello avenmaven,
Thank you for all the information you provided, and congratulations on your new laptop!
I do not think this has to do with setting up iCloud on your new computer.  You might not have the option to manually manage music checked on your devices.  This box would need to be checked if you are dragging content over to your iPhone or trying to delete by pressing the delete key:
You can find more information at the full article:
Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod

I hope this gets you back on track! Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • List Display of Open Purchase orders limited to specific G/L Account

Does such a list exist? I know ME2K I can select by Cost Center or WBS element.  I am looking to see open orders by GL Account as the business may want to block the GL account and we need to see open orders before they do so.

You've got dynamic selection option on ME2K so you could use that to specify a GL.
If that doesn't give you what you want I don't think there's anything std on the Purchasing side but you could check if there's an outstanding commitments report per GL on the FICO side.
Or use SAP Query Tx SQVI with logical database EKM (which is what I think the ME2K tx is based on).
    Regards,
    Nick

  • My songs keep getting out of order

I have a few albums which are out of numerical order. I just clicked on song number 1 to play it and it moved to the bottom of the list for that album. I have another album which is completely out of numerical order. I just want to get the tracks back to the way they should be.

For a fuller examination of this topic see Grouping tracks into albums. The images are a little out of date, but the advice is still valid.
If tracks jump around when you play them then the chances are that an external program such as Windows Media Player has touched the files and iTunes is discovering changed data as it plays the file. WMP is good at removing the Disc X of Y values which can affect the order in iTunes.

  • How to keep my song list organized

    Hello
This is my first ipod and therefore my first iTunes. I am running win 7 and had no problems installing iTunes, so far so good.
The issue I am having is the organization of the music list that are displayed in iTunes, List View, Album, Grid and Flow List. I have added a file folder from an external HDD and it synced without issue. so far so good.  I added another folder and then it all went sideways .. under libary/music/list view all the albums are seperate entries with covers .. so far so good .. change the view and BOOM everything goes everywhere .. nothing in order ..  albums not together .. with only two albums in iTunes it really looks like a mess  ..  In cover flow I have 17 album covers for two albums .. in cover flow the first two songs from the first album are in there own group then the first song from the next album in it's own group and then 3 songs from the first and then 4 from the other and on and on and on ... it really is a mess .. just from two albums .. what will happen when I install 30 albums .. or dare I say 1000 albums
So I really need some direction in order to have some err.. order
I am not really sure if I have provided enough info in order (there's that word again) for someone to give assistance if not please ask for more info and I will gladly give my left ╖ (oops) ... more info
Thanks from this newbi (am I thought of as an apple seed)
this is an example of my flow list with the only (one) album currently installed on my iTunes I removed the second album due to the mess and thought to contact this board in effort to install my music like the Mac(intosh) i soon might be
    6 Angel
    2 Never
    7 Down
    13 Elmo
    1 Fire
    8 I Do
    10 In
    4 Island
    3 Life
    12 Meat
    11 Miles
    5 New
    9 Sway
    14 Trampoline
note : its out of order
only under song list are all in numerical order ?????
And please don't let me start on music tags that keep all of this music information flowing because this is my next learning curve and if anyone wants to point me in that direction I will follow
and then there is all of the other things that i am sure I don't know .. lol
    Again Thank You

I don't believe there's a way to do that. It might be an idea.
If it's not an idea, you might as well submit it.
(I personally would love a feature like that. :P)

  • Songs On iPod Out Of Order/Shuffling Displays Incorrect Album Artwork

Hello all. My main problem(s) with my 4th generation iPod nano is that on selected albums, the songs are displayed in an incorrect order (not corresponding correctly to my iTunes library). This and that when I shuffle all my songs, the artwork doesn't correspond correctly to the song that is playing. I have called Apple at least four times and tried reinstalling iTunes twice, restoring my iPod to factory defaults three times, resyncing my iPod four times, and checking the tags on my iTunes Library songs. Any ideas what the problem could be?

I am having the same problem that my artwork doesn't correspond with the right song thats playing, get different artwork and also artwork from movies that have been deleted long ago. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP

  • Unable to correct Album: 'Song play Order' on iPod

Windows Itunes (version 7.01): Sync to iPod Enabled (manually manage songs & videos box is: UNchecked)
Ipod 5G 60 GB (OS 1.2): Shuffle play set to OFF
When I recently added a new album (of ten songs) into iTunes, I forgot to enter their correct corresponding track number. I subsequently (in iTunes) entered the album artist's name (same for all songs) and corresponding correct track numbers (1 of 10, 2 of 10, etc), with the album's song order now appearing & playing (in iTunes) correctly now.
I then SYNCED my iPod to iTunes, with the iTunes display window confirming that these songs were being updated on my iPod. The artist-album song list order (albeit greyed out) under the "MY iPod" icon in the iTunes Device>Music section also confirmed that the album song order had been succesfully changed. Interestingly enough, I noticed it's NOT possible to CHANGE the song sort category here in the iTunes DEVICE section (always remains on 'artist'), even though I'm able to change the sort category in the iTunes LIBRARY section. I had expected that whatever category was selected in LIBRARY section would be reflected in the DEVICE > MY iPod section as well. Why is this not the case?
Strangely enough, when I then EJECT my iPod from the PC and call up the above Artist>Album, the album's songs still appear in the original (WRONG) order as when the album's songs were when initially loaded . What am I doing wrong? Did I miss something here?
How can I get my Album Songs to play in the correct (ammended in iTunes) order, on my iPod too?
Thanks in advance for all help and assistance.

iPod 5th Generation 60 GB   Windows XP

    Hi Snubnog,
Many thanks to your reply and informative link, I now use this succesful work around solution: 1) removing the recently tag edited songs from my iTunes library and then 2): re-importing them back into the iTunes Libary. Following this, and syncing my iPod up to the iTunes library again, my album songs now appear in correct play order.
    Thanks again for your help.
