Album sorta missing on Match

My wife has Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds "Live in Las Vegas" Vol 1 & 2. I added each to my itunes library on my MBPro tonight. I see each album in my itunes library. Each album (and every song in each album) has the proper cloud logo next to it.
Vol 2 appeared very soon after on both my iphone and ipad via Match. However Vol 1 has not yet appeared IN CERTAIN AREAS. For example, I can see and play Vol 1 on both mobile devices, in the "Albums", "Songs", "Genres", and "Composers" areas. However, Vol 1 doesn't appear in the "Artists" area.
Thus far I have turned Match off-and-on, on my MBPro to no effect. I have "Updat(ed) Match" on my MBPro. I have turned Match off-and-on, on both the ipad and iPhone. So far no Vol 1 on the mobile devices under the "Artists" area of the Music app. Perhaps I shouldn't care since I can see it in other areas, such as "Albums".

Album sort order missing

I want to use 'Recently Added' in album view while hiding all rated albums.
I do not understand why the new 'album' sort order is restricted to only a few fields, while the 'songs' sort order doesn't have the two-level; sorting that the album sort order has. Both of these views have half the functionality I want.

Figured it out. I added "Various Artists" in the Album Artist field for every track and it then sorted them all together.

Music album covers miss-match

I'm really bothered by the fact that my music album covers don't match the actual album. What can I do to fix it so they do match? Has anyone else had this problem?

That happens for some users:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

HT201412 my ipod touch is randomly playing songs on its own. i cannot choose the song I want to hear it continuosly skips several songs and then suddenly plays it. also the album cover does not match the song playing

If i try to select a song it will not play that song it keeps skipping over severla songs at a time then plays again. The album covers do not match that song that is playing and now its not connected to wifi. I need help

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Just bought a nano and want to download some of my iTunes library. The "Music" button shows almost all my selections but some albums are missing, yet thos albums appear on the nano icon on my desktop but none of the others. What's happening?

I've read some of the post here that I thought might help but they refer to titles (Music) and triangles in the "Devices" window which are nowhere to be seen when I open the "Devices" window.
I have iTunes 11.0.3 and Mac OS 10.6.8. Does this make a difference?

I should mention that, for the first problem, I do make sure that my new tracks are stored in the folder where I told iTunes that my music is in. Also, when I say the cataloging of my library stops short of cataloging all my songs, I have tried leaving the computer unattended for days (my computer's sleep mode is disabled). It always stops before cataloging all of my music regardless of whether I am doing something else while iTunes is cataloging, or if I just let iTunes be the only program that's open during the cataloging process.

I recently transferred my ITunes library to an external hard drive. I made sure to copy all the data from the saved location. After the transfer I noticed that a lot of albums are missing the first song and some recently purchased albums are missing.

They only thing I can assume is that my external hard drive was slow to start and iTunes defaulted to its old directory (see the last paragraph at the link above). However, once my external was recognized shouldn't everything have fixed itself?

How do I get my albums and pictures to match correctly? Ever since the last iPhoto update my entire library has been in disarray. i.e. my wedding album have pics from vacation album. Which was not the case before. MacBook Pro 2010

Ever since I did the lastest iPhoto update my picture albums have not correctly matched up with the corresponding photos. i.e. my wedding pictures now show up in my vacation album. The picture thumbnails are not showing me the correct photos.

I have iPhoto '11 with the lastest software update. I forgot what number it currently is. I am vigalant when it comes to the latest software updates. Yes, I did restore my iPhoto pictures from a backup since I founf out I could not share any of my pics using my apeture library since they were not the orginals. So, after the back-up of iPhoto all my pictures albums and the pics in the album do not match up, even the thumbnails. I find this quite annoying. All my albums were working and correctly before this update. As for apeture can I re-master all the photos there masters? so i can just do away with using iPhoto all together?

How do I print a list albums sorted by artist

iTunes 12.1.2.27 Windows 7 SP 1 (64 bit)
I would like to generate a list of albums in my library sorted by artist. This used to work fine before I upgraded to iTunes 12 last fall by using File > Print > Album listing / Theme: List of albums.
Since the iTunes 12 upgrade the list is generated sorted by album title and not by artist. I have my View options set to Albums - Sort by Artist them by Title.
Even though the theme clearly states sorted by artist, it generated a list sorted by album title. How do I fix this so that it generates what the theme description states?

I am on iTunes 12.1.2.27 ... but what I get is albums sorted by title in both the preview and the output file. This behavior has been consistent since I upgraded to iTunes 12 ... with iTunes 11 it did work like what you are seeing. I do think it is some sort of bug ... iTunes 12 was not the smoothest software upgrade I have see. I did run into a lot of lock-ups and trashing of album art in the 12,0 releases but this latest release (12.1.2.27) seems to be have taken care of most of those issues.
I might look into doing a complete removal of iTunes and then try a new clean reinstall but I was hoping that maybe there was some setting, or config file parameter, that might fix this..

HT1386 album cover doesn't match song playing

I plugged my iphone into the computer to sync it and now the album covers don't match song playing. How can I fix this?

I have this same problem. The iPhone 5 cover art does not match any of the songs. The iPad 1 works perfectly off the same iTunes library. I went through the iTunes library and everything is correct their.
I tried deleting all of the music and resyncing. It did not change.
Any thoughts?

After the 3.4.0.684 update for IOS, the album sort by artist is out of order. It looks like the sort is only factoring in the first letter in the sort as seen below. Can the old sort methodology be put back in.

Sorry, but there is nothing you can do about it. There's no place where you could create "another account" that would give you any greater access to media. The content owners do not allow cross-border sales, so you cannot open an account in another country's iTunes Store. So until such time as Apple is able to obtain the necessary licensing and decides that it's practical to open an iTunes Store on your country, I'm afraid that you will not be able to purchase music, videos, or movies from an iTunes Store.
There is only one possibility for you: if what you're looking for are only podcasts, you may be able to find the podcast you want directly from a web site. Apple doesn't host the podcasts, they only link to them, so the podcast you want may be available from another source. You'll have to do a web search and see if the podcast turns up.

"iPod" album sorting

Has anyone figured out how to sort albums chronologically by "Artist" in an iPod. I tried sorting albums in iTunes which works great, but as soon as you put the artist in your iPod it defaults that artist's albums back to alphabetical. I know that the software in the iPod is not iTunes, but it seems that if the artist sort tag carries over then the album sort tag should as well.

I put the year in brackets at the beginning of the album title and number the songs on all my music - Goes back to when I had a Zen that wouldn't even play the album in order. This keeps everything in chronological order, but kind of screws me when it comes to using things like fetch album art or lyrics.
If chronological is more important to you (like it is to me), you might try this. Besides, I'm also picky about added the correctly sized artwork.

[solved] ncmpcpp - album sort?

Have recently set up a headless server for my multimedia needs. Since I control it via ssh I had to install a console music player and have decided on mpd/ncmpcpp. One thing that bugs me is that the Media Library sorts with Artist as the first criteria. Even in the 2-column view where Album takes precedence, it is still Album (sorted by artist), which is kind of silly since I can get that already in the 3 column view. And so it is difficult to access my albums which are compilations of many artists. Is there any way I can have "Album" and see all the songs in that album in the next column?
Or failing which are there any other console players I can use?

Thats what the albumartist tag is for. And ncmpcpp supports this one just fine. just add tag "albumartist = Soundtrack" (for example) on those albums.
to make ncmpcpp sort media library using this tag, hit ` and then A for albumartist.
**edit** also make sure, to add the albumartist tag to the supported ones in mpd.conf

Album Covers aren't matching up

The album covers don't match with the correct albums on the iPad. They are correct on the computer in my iTunes account but not on the actual iPad itself. Any ideas on what to do??

Delete the music by syncing with iTunes with the music unelected then re-select the music and sync with iTunes to place the music back on your iPad.

Album illustrations don't match

Since a while the album illustrations don't match up on my iPhone. They're synchronised on iTunes, but when I play music on my iPhone, I never get the right album illustration. What's up with that?

Ok did some searching and found this stuff,
This happened to me. Go to where it says "show album art on ipod" in itunes. Uncheck that and sync. When it is done, go back and re-check the box and sync again. It worked for me.
and
what i did was go into itunes:
-devices
-music
then click on settings and ticked replace all items when auto-filling
then i clicked auto fill and it worked!!
this is itunes version 10 and using iphone 4
im still looking for more info, see if this works!
I never had this problem with my ipod touch?
