Album veiwing

after connecting phone to laptap all my album pics on ipod section changed,and now every one has same pic.tried to reboot phone but no change.
i did not have the albums on laptap as this was first time i connected phone.
(and do not have enough space on laptop to transfer music from phone)

I had a similar problem when I first loaded all of my music on my new 5G iPod... but my artwork was coming up wrong. A format, and reload has seemed to fix the issue.
You might check to be sure that your setting for your iPod says to show artwork.
When your iPod is connected, Click the iPod icon in the bottom right corner of iTunes and check to be sure you are allowing the artwork to show.

One Big Album

Hello, I got a Wicked:Original Broadway Cast CD, and I imported all of the songs onto my iPod. No problem there. But, when I turn my iPod to the side, and look at the flowy Album veiwer, when you see all of those album artwork, There is 13 different albums for 1 CD! So, I was really confused. Then I found out, It says it's all the same album and image, but there are different artists. One says, "Idina Menzel", another says "Wicked Cast" so, I believe that is what is throwing off the iPod's orginization. It's the same album, same image, just different cast members singing that song. So, basically, my question is, how do I get all 19 tracks from the CD into one big album on my iPod?

If you "Get Info" on the tracks that are part of your collection, you can use the Compilation option in iTunes.
In iTunes 8 and later, you find the option to mark multiple items as "Part of a compilation" in the Options tab of the Multiple Item Information window.

Im getting multiple albums in grid and coverflow veiw from single albums..

sort of hard to explane but im getting several albums showing up and they are all the same album..the songs are separated in to 5 or 6 different albums but they are just 1. how can i change this its a pain going through all of them just to find 1 song..

How do I rearrange the order of songs on an album?

I like to have the songs in the correct order because a lot of the time the artist intended for them to be listened to in a specific order. How do i rearrange songs in an album that are mixed up?

at top of listings the should be a heading "Track#" if not go to view, veiw options and tick track number the it will show on main screen click this new heading and the tracks should alter to the correct order. Hope this helps

How do I sort by Album and not Artist on my 7th Generation

I can't veiw my music on my ipod nano by just album. It's separated everything by artist and doesn't just play the whole album. How do I fix that?

Wow!! You've went to a lot of work! I'm sure I'll figure this out eventually! I have read down through your entire article and tried everything and I stilllll can't get it! It's funny you responded to this thread, I actually had already used some o f your scripts. I am doing all of this for my church, so that's why I have so many artisits, albums, etc. and I've tried delegating the work out to different people but it is very hard to make them all do it the same way...so here we are. I tried using the "sort album" feature in the get-tag-info and it didn't do anything, I tried making it a compilation and "compilation" came up under "artists" in the normal itunes screen but NOT in the music selection screen for my ipad, I tried converting the id3 tags back to none and then back up to v. 2.3, and I really don't want to go through all my "album artist" values and change them to the "album" because then I wouldn't be able to see the tracks by artist and besides that I can't find any tag renamer that is capable of changing album artist and contributing artist. See the 2 screen shots below, they should tell the story. Thanks for the help!!!

How do I rearrange the sequence of pictures within "All Photos" album?

I've just upgraded to Photos. I have 35322 photos and it seems to handle it better than iPhoto.
I'm finding the "All Photos" album is showing out of chronological sequence, with various "moments" photos intersperced into a variety of different "moments".
I can't seem to find a way to rearrange the "All Photos" album to be a true chronological sequence, instead of the random sequence it has become.
What am I missing?

How can I veiw apps only created by apple?

I have an iphone 5 and a iPod nano 7th gen , I am about to transfer photos and videos to the ipod but I want them in a private photo album app, I have read that you can only put apps created by apple on the nano 7th gen! So how can I veiw only " apple created apps " in App Store or anywhere for that matter? Or can someone please tell me which private photo album app created by apple even exists, because I can not find one.

Yes - to a point. iCloud provides a simple gallery in the form of 'Photo Journal' - uploading of photos from iPhoto to web pages hosted on iCloud, but only from iOS devices and not so far from Macs; and the photos are compressed to a size adequate for online viewing but are not available in full resolution as with Gallery. Apple have provided a sample album here.

Those files should be being created in folders of the form:
<User's Music>\iTunes\Album Artwork\Cache|Download\<GUID>\<##>\<##>\<##>
The <GUID> in your case is 0CDB362F24AD473A...
If they are appearing anywhere else I would suspect a permissions problem. iTunes just spits them out where it can. Similar problems can sometimes cause it to drop files on the desktop.
Repair Permissions
Right-click on your main iTunes folder and click Properties, then go to the Security tab and click Advanced. If necessary grant your account and system full control to this folder, subfolders and files, then tick the option to replace permissions on child objects which will repair permissions throughout the library. This is the XP dialog but Windows 7 shouldn't be too different.
Once you've repaired the permissions search for all files of the form *.itc2 in the music folder and delete them, then start iTunes. iTunes will rebuild the artwork cache in the correct location as you scroll through your library.

Can you show at a glance which event images are in albums?

Say I had an event containing multiple similar but different images, is there a way to show in the grid view for example which images have already been used in one or more albums?
Would be handy to be able to select a 'show list of albums containing this image'dialogue box. I guess you could hide images you've used but that wouldn't work automatically, nor would any other tagging/rating.
Another approach would be to make albums containing everything in a given event, then move the images out of that album once used, just seems fiddly to me.

Yes it would and many people have suggested tit. Add your voice to the chorus at iPhoto Menu -> Provide Apple Feedback.
A workaround - and it's no better - is to go to an album and select al, then give all those pics a keyword. Then in grid view you can see which pics have the keyword. (View -> Keywords)

In order to create space on my MBA I just bumped iTunes media to G drive linked through Time Capsule. Now pointed iTunes at new iTunes libary on G drive and, even though all music files are there, iTunes can only 'see' 10 albums. Any help appreciated.

Bit more detail...
Mac Book Air has been struggling for space for a while so I bough at time capsule a) for back up and b) to host my itunes folder remotely. This didnt' work. I took it into the Genius bar and the genius there told me that time capsule is not designed for anything other than back up. Instead I have to connect a G drive through the time capsule's wireless router to my MBA.
I followed his instructions - moved my files from the Time Capsule and MBA directly onto the G Drive - which took a heartening 2 hrs so something must have been happening - and the held down 'Alt' when starting iTunes and selected the new itunes folder as the location of my itunes libarary which I wanted iTunes to 'point at'. When I opened iTunes only 10 albums are visible now.
In ITunes advanced preferences it says it is pointing at the correct folder. The files are all cleary there when I open the G Drive folder to take a look. But I cannot get iTunes to find them.
Any suggestions?
Secondary challenge - in spite of deleting the original itunes folder on my MBA I still get messages pop up telling me my start up disk is out of space and I need to clear some - I expected to stop getting this message now I had done this exercise above. I have emptied Trash. Again - any pointers appreciated. I am new to this world of 'intuitive' macbooks.

After admittedly only a quick read the one thing you don't say is how you are trying to make this move. Most people with moving library issues do it the wrong way. Plenty of web sites tell you how to do it the wrong way.
If the iTunes application is started before the drive with the library is fully mounted and awake iTunes will revert back to the internal drive.

In Photoshop Express, cannot sort images in album by filename in thumbnail view (for slideshow)l.

In Photoshop Express, I want images to appear sorted by filename. In the "view as a table" it sorts fine. When I revert to the thumbnail view, the arrangement is random. The dropdown "show" list does not offer an option for showing by filename. If I select the"custom" option, it means I would need to sort 300 images by filename MANUALLY (!!!), a job that a computer does in milliseconds. Anyone with a solution? Thanks.

fwiw, with my images in the 'Folder Location' view the photos are in order by their Windows filename. That is the same order as the hardcopy album the photos came from. So I then created a PSE Album. I selected all my photos and moved them into that album. The order of the pictures was retained in the Album. That worked out great. I wanted my PSE images to be in the same order. I thought I would do it with tags. But creating an album seems to work just fine.

CD imported to wrong folder organization Album/Artist instead of Artist/Alb

I imported (ripped) a CD and the folder convention iTunes created in my music library was like this:
AlbumName/ArtistName
instead of
ArtistName/AlbumName
How could this happen. I have ripped hundreds of CD's and this is the first time it has happened. I am letting iTuned organize my files.
Any clues?

Actually I know exactlty what bae77345 is referring to, because I am running into the same problem. Thus my search in the forums.
Usually Ive had no problem in importing a song into iTunes, and changing the song IN iTunes to read as follows.
Name of Song: DAYS `EUREKA OPENING MIX`
Artist: Anime
Album : Eureka seveN OST 1
Album artist: FLOW
And the Windown path would look like this
C:\Documents and Settings\Varxtis\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\Anime\Eureka seveN OST 1\1-01 DAYS `EUREKA OPENING MIX`.mp3
Notice It goes Artist>Album>Song Title
Album Artist would not even be part of the path, which is exactly what I want.
but now it shows

Which goes AlbumArtist>Album>Song Title. it doesn't even include the artist as part of the path. How annoying.
It makes a HUGE difference to me because I need everything in "iTunes Music" library in windows to be pathed as Artist>Album: Song Title. I use a different MP3 Player so, it's almost impossible to have half one way (those that have albumartist) and half another (those that don't) BTW, Sorry apple. . .no Offense. I've had and loved an iPod. . . but it died and I got this as a gift.
I never changed any settings, and quite honestly it's been about a month since I had to update my MP3 player music (thus noticing the problem). So, there HAS to be a reason for it to change. And more importantly, a way to change it back.
