Hi just wondering about singles and albums. I have a case where I buy a single and it is eligible for CMA for any album in particular, however on the other hand, buying a song directly from the album, doesn't come up with the single being purchased or the song being purchased upon any other albums to complete other particular albums. I was wondering because I recently had songs which weren't on singles if it is anytime possible to buy a song direct from the album and have it assumed purchased or ready for download as a single for that particular song or album?

By design iTunes should treat any collection of songs with the same album artist and album title as a single album. Adding some extra text like (Single) make the distinction clear. You could also add one or more trailing spaces, however if scanning album tiles in the column browser you'll then need to guess which entry is the album you want..

Yes, they will do everything needed to get your music into iTunes. It is far easier to do it this way.

Album and Single Art Work

Hi, I've got all the album art nicely sorted on my itunes and iphone. Looks Fantastic... Now I've just started adding the singles art work within the albums.
However, I've noticed that if a single is the first track on that album, then the album art changes to the single art work.
How can i tell itunes and my iphone, that in album-flow i want the album art work to be displayed but when i play the single, especaly track 1, i want the single art work to be displayed.
Also if an single has more than one artwork, is it possable to select/view the diffrent artwork in my iphone?

ITunes will show different artwork per track if the album is marked as a compilation. Also, when designating compilations, be sure to fill in the Album Artist field too. The field really should be called "Compilation Artist." The entry will either be the same artist that's in every Artist field on the album or an umbrella term like "Original Broadway Cast" or "Various Artists."
The reason I know this works is I have placed different artwork into the tracks of Broadway cast recordings. They are naturally compilations because every track is not sung by the same people yet all the songs belong to one album. As I play these albums, I see artwork that coincides with that part of the show.

As tt2 says, iTunes regards everything as being part of an album. However, you could use playlists or playlist folders to group your library as required ... one possibility would be to use the Grouping field, setting this to "Album" for everything you want to see as an album, and "Single" for singles, and then set up smart playlists that select on the appropriate Grouping value.

I pre ordered a single and an album and the single won't show as part of the album. Why?

I downloaded the new Walk the Moon single a few weeks ago and pre-ordered the new album. The album was released yesterday, but the single (track 3) does not appear as part of the album. When I check purchased items, it just shows the song as purchased and there isn't a way to download it separately so that it is part of the album. Do I need to log into iTunes on my PC and rename the single so that it falls in line where it should on the album? Shouldn't it just do this automatically? Otherwise, it's a bit of a pain to pre-order if you have to constantly go in and reconfigure albums and singles.

I would be eager to download and listen to the available songs on my pre-ordered album as well. I found a couple of resources that might help with downloading this purchase.
First, I recommend checking to see if the download was interrupted. You can use the steps in this article:

If the songs do not download after following the steps in that article, I recommend trying to download the songs from the list of past purchases. As long as you are signed in with the same Apple ID you used to purchase the album, you will not be charged again. You can find the steps to do this in the following article:

Today as i selected an album to listen to on my Iphone 5, all the song in that album and other albums by the same artist skipped quickly across the screen and deleted everything by that artist.

The exact same thing happened again when i selected another artist to listen to. This hasn't happened before, and i'm now concerned to listen to music in my Iphone incase it deletes my music again.

I've tried to ad the songs like i did before on my pc, dragging them over to my playlist or library. Since I live in Norway, I have some difficulties with transferring to english, so it be some bad spelling.
On the music that I can't get to my itunes, is a "mp3 - lyd" which in norwegian is a the same standard mp3 format. All of the files is in this format, even those that I'm able to transfer to itunes. Which is an album by an single artist.
I know that itunes does not support all formats, which is why I always make sure that all of my music has the same format.
So I will try to explain once more. Earlier today, I downloaded some new music, both albums and singles. And it's the singles I have difficulties to transfer to itunes. Neither dragging them nor by clicking "import/add" songs to library works. What happens when I try to do this, is that I get that circle thingy,(the circle who comes when the computer is working), and when it disappers, nothing happens and no files(of the singles) is transfered. And I'm going crazy, because I thought that I could do this without help, and noe I'm sitting here like a questionmark, and don't understand what I'm doing wrong.

What version of iPhoto do you have installed? Is if one of the versions shown as not compatible in this screenshot?
If it is then go to the App Store and download iPhoto 9.5. It will be free if you have an iPhoto 9 or later verson currently.

Hey everyone in Apple world!
I figured out how to fix the flashing yellow screen problem that I've been having on my MBP! Yessssss!!!
I found this super handy website with the golden answer: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
I followed the instructions on this page and here's what I did:
Resetting NVRAM / PRAM
Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
I went through the 6 steps above twice, just to make sure I got rid of whatever stuff was holding up my bootup process. Since I did that, my MBP boots up just like normal. No flashing yellow screen anymore!!

I am working on a friend of mine's 15g ipod(W/dock connector)and I am having the same trouble except it does it to all the songs. I have tried reseting it multiple times, but to no avail.
I am not sure that this runs on windows XP, it is absolutly archaic (compared to my 5th gen. 30g video).

File -> Export to a folder and copy it over.
That will give you a folder with the images. There is no way to move an album outside of iPhoto. You would need to have a library containing it.

Soory, no, it is not possible. You can only combine multiple copies of the same book into one order.

ITunes help needed. I downloaded an album and some singles. Many of the songs cut off. How can I re-download the damaged tunes?

I downloaded an album and some singles, then burned them to disc. Many songs blanked out while playing. Thought it was a bad disk, but it turns out that they didn't download properly from the iTunes store. How do I re-download previously purchased items? I've tried following the general help tips but they haven't worked.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:

Not sure what you mean by transfer. I suspect you are trying to get it listed in iTunes as part of the album, in which case you can change the details in 'Get Info'.

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.

Here is some helpful information regarding preorder albums in iTunes. I would recommend checking to see if you can download the single directly from the preorder album as some artists release a single that is separate from the album and will be a different purchase.
