Possibly a permissions issue. Exit iPhoto. Then:
1) Locate the iPhoto Library folder in the Finder.
2) Select the iPhoto Library, then choose File > Get Info.
3) In the Info window, be sure that the checkbox for "Locked" is not selected.
4) Click the disclosure triangle next to Ownership & Permissions, as well as the one for Details (if it is not already open).
5) Make sure you are the owner of this folder and have read/write permission. If not, click the lock icon next to the owner name.
6) If prompted to authenticate, enter an administrator username and password.
7) Change the Owner and Owner Access settings if needed so that you are the owner and the access for the owner is Read & Write.
8) Click the button that says Apply to Enclosed Items.
9) If prompted to authenticate, enter an administrator username and password.

OK, here are a set of screenshots with my step by step - maybe you will be able to spot where I've gone awry:
I find a photo in the Library that I will delete from an album:
I go down to my Albums and find the picture in one of them:
I hover over the pic so the little down arrow appears in the bottom right-hand corner. I click on it, then click on the Trash Can in the window that drops down:
    Gone from the Album:
    Gone from the Library:
    In the Trash:

  • IPhoto Albums are empty

Last time I opened iphoto, all of my photos are in the library, but my albums are empty. Any ideas

    aphale:
Do you see the photos when you click on the thumbnails in iPhoto? It may be that the Library.iPhoto preference file has been damaged. Try the following: move the AlbumData.xml file to the desktop and then launch iPhoto. If the library's dB file is not damaged it should rebuild the .xml file with your albums. If that file is damaged you'll have to recreate your albums.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • My synced photo albums are empty, why?

I synced my photo albums from my computer but the are empty on my iPad and iphone

I have the same problem. Latest iOS release (5.1.1 9B206). Latest Snow Leopard release (10.6.8). iPhoto 8.1.2 (424).
Some albums synced from iPhoto show up by name on my iPhone 4S, but they are empty. The file extension problem referenced by one person here isn't what is happening in my case.
I've tried unchecking the option in iTunes to sync photos, syncing, then rechecking the option, and syncing again. Problem still exists.

  • Photos missing from new albums. We just spent days making up new albums, now albums are empty!!

A little backround as we're new to this.
We imported all our photos onto our new Macbook pro from our old Macbook.
Then created smart albums for each year to sort the photos.
Then copied photos from each year into normal albums, so we could delete and edit the photos.
We then deleted the smart albums after we had finished copying and pasting the photos we wanted.
Everything worked fine until we went on holiday, so I shut the computer down.
Now I've started it back up and all the new albums are totally empty?!!
    Please help!!!!

We imported all our photos onto our new Macbook pro from our old Macbook
Did you import the library from the old MB into a library on the new MB?  If so that was the wrong way to move your library from the old MB to the new MB.
Then created smart albums for each year to sort the photos.
Then copied photos from each year into normal albums, so we could delete and edit the photos.
The correct way to move photos from a smart album into a regular album is to select the photos in the SA and use the File ➙ New Album menu option.  That immediately create a new album with the contents of the SA.  No need to copy or paste (if that's that you did as that would duplicate photos rather than point to the orignals. Remember albums are like playlists in iTune.  Just pointers to the tracks and not actual files.
We then deleted the smart albums after we had finished copying and pasting the photos we wanted.
How did you go about this?  Did you delete just the smart album or the phtoos in the SA?  If it were the latter then you deleted the photos from the library entirely including from all other albums, slideshows, books or whatever they might have been in. That's because what's in albums are pointers to the original photos in their Events.

  • All my photo albums are empty

I upgraded to Photos Beta fine and everything worked, all my albums were ok but then suddenly last night all of my albums were empty on my Mac, iPhone and iPad. The album folders were there but no photos inside. All of my photos were still in the All Photos section though.

  • Aperture albums are empty

I have been using Aperture for quite a while, and I have a persistent problem.  I organize my photos as follows:
    Folder
    |
    |_____> Project
                             |
                             |_____> Album
For some reason, after some time (I've not paid attention to how long), the photos in my albums no longer appear.  When I hover the mouse over the album name, it says there are no versions.
Typically, the photos in the album are those that I want to or have published - they are my favorites of the entire Project, which contains all of the originals.
Any ideas on why this might be happening or ways to fix it are appreciated.  These are not Smart Albums.
I'm on a MacBook Pro, OS 10.9.4 using Aperture 3.5.1 (though I think this predates both this MacBook Pro and this version of the software).
    Thank you!

If the image is moved out of the project it is in the image will no longer be in the album. Even if you move the image back to the original project it will not appear in the album unless you place it there again.
Tht's one possibility. Without more info it's tough to come up with others. Have you tried the basic troubleshooting steps, doing a library repair, when the symptoms occur?
Try to keep track of when it happens (if it does happen again) and what was going on with Aperture at the time.

  • IWeb pages from iPhoto albums are empty

I've set up a website using iWeb and iPhoto. Whenever I try to add a Photo page, iWeb goes through its process and tells me it's publishing the page. When it tells me the page is published and I go to visit it, there are no pictures on it - just the blank page. Other pages on the site are fine, including one with a quicktime movie which uploaded without a problem. I've deleted pages that are blank and tried to get new ones to post but the same thing happens. Does anyone have any advice?
    Thanks

Is your library working normally otherwise? Can you export pics in the normal way, for instance?

  • When upgrading to ios5 not all my pictures came back.  Now instead of Camera Roll it says progress-sync and every picture I have says saving and I can't send.  My albums are empty.  Help?

When upgrading to ios5 none of my pictures came back to albums.  I don't have anything in albums, not even the camera roll albumn with pictures I have taken since.  I can get to the handful of pictures I have taken by going to camera, but it says "progress-sync" where it used to say camera roll.  Now every picture I take has a saving photo on it and it won't let me do anything like email it, etc.  It also is not showing up in albumns.  How do I fix this?  What happened? Help?

I had a simialar problem with mine, but my Cameral Roll at least was there.  Hopefully you have been keeping a copy of your camera roll.  I back mine up to my PC every now and then.  If you did not, you might want to try a RESTORE to try to get back the Camera Roll.
As for the other Picture sync,  I had to create a new directory on my PC and then resyng this NEW directory....BUT NOW I have TWO identical directories on my phone, which I am trying to resolve, but AT LEAST I can carry my sync photos around with me until I get one of the directories eliminated.
Next time I WONT be so quick to jump on the next Apple OS update!

  • I backed up my itunes library to an external drive. It's 119 gb.It took about an hour. When I looked at the files it list the artists and albums but then says the files are empty. On the C drive of my own computer it says they are empty. Why would this be ?

When I open up my itunes library on my hard drive it says it contains 119 gb.I tried to look up individual songs under each album and artist.Every time I open an album it says the folder is empty.I exported the library earlier to an external hard drive. It took over an hour. When I look on that library it also says the files are empty, yet when open itunes and play songs they are all still there. Why doesn't the library list each song since it says it contains 119gb?

Niel, I tried that several times but the Choose Library screen never appeared.
    Then try again.
Make sure iTunes is not running.
    Hold the Option key.
Click the iTunes icon in the dock.
    Select Choose library...
Select the iTunes folder you copied to the external
ITunes would boot up like usual but the only songs listed were in the Cloud.  None of my Apps, Playlists, etc. appeared.
Because you moved the library and have not yet told iTunes to Choose the library you moved.

I had this problem in the Beta version.  I was hoping that with the app in "final" that the Albums would update.  So far no such luck.  I turned off use of the iCloud Photo Library on all devices, but there are still empty web albums in the web photos.  Syncing for me had been a disaster, fortunately I am only doing this with my small photo library that I keep on my MacAir.

  • Spent all day making photo albums in iPhoto and now more than half are empty! Help!

I've been creating photo albums from photo events all day.
    I've imported pictures from events.
Added keywords and stars, Tagged faces and places and put the pictures in all the manual orders I wanted since I shot similar shots from multiple cameras.
Once I made the albums I created slideshows from the albums which I exported to iTunes.
While I was playing the slideshows back on AppleTV, I photo crashed.
The iTunes Slideshows are there but when iPhoto re-started more than 1/2 the albums and slideshows are empty with no content.
    I am just sick.
I spent more than 8 hours working on these albums today.
I restarted my computer and iPhoto.
    No change.
The events are still there... and the ratings, tags, etc., but all the pictures are of course out of the album orders and some of these albums had hundreds of pictures in them that were painstakingly ordered.
    What can I do?
Is all this work lost forever?
I'm really disappointed in iPhoto right now.
Apple stuff is usually so stable.
    I am not technical.
    Thanks for any help.

The answer is that bad things happen and software has bugs - so  you need to quit and backup often when you use a computer (any computer) or you will lose work - crashes wipe thing out and crashes are causes by either users errors, hardware problems or software bugs - all three exist and you need to protect yourself against them - if you do not have a backup then you have nothing to recover

  • Hi, I need help.  yesterday I copied one of my photo albums from my computer to Ipad 6 , using itunes.  The album was successfully copied but my already few existing photo albums are suddenly empty,  The album title is there but no photos inside.

    Hi
Need your help. Some of my photo albums are showing as  a blank after copying a photo album from my computer to ipad 6 using itunes.  Can anyone help.,  Those albums were my treasure and i do not have any back of those.

It's better to post the URL of the feed (as you have subsequently done) than the contents of the feed .
From the FeedValidator report the feed is basically OK for iTunes. There are several occasions where 'content:encoded' sections (following immediately on 'guid' tags) should be enclosed in
    <description>...</description>
tags: however all this will be ignored by iTunes anyway and only applies to other readers. The 'potentially dangerous content' referred to by FeedValidator is within the 'content:encoded' tags and so isn't relevant to iTunes. They are referring to an inline css style, and I don't know whether this might cause a problem elsewhere.
You should really have a language tag, e.g.
    <language>en-us</language>
(you have a dc:language tag but that's for a different system). This should be placed in the top section, before the first 'item' tag.
It's advisable to have an 'itunes:explicit' tag for each 'item' -
<itunes:explicit>yes IF CONTAINS ADULT MATERIAL, OTHERWISE no</itunes:explicit>
it's not compulsory if you have no adult material, but you must have a 'yes' if you do.
You can check your feed by subscribing in iTunes from the 'Advanced' menu - this has the same result as clicking the 'Subscribe' button on the Store page. If it works OK there you are ready to submit it.

  • ICloud albums in iPhoto are empty, but they show up on iPhone and iPad.

I am opening iPhoto, and when I go to my iCloud folder the albums are their, but there are no photos in the album. My mac mini is all up to date and so in iPhoto. The odd thing is the photo albums are on my iPad and iPhone with all of the photos. Anyone know what I can do ti fix this? I have tried signing out of iCloud and that did nothing.

    Hi,
I am still not sure where you are extracting it from.
Messages comes in two version in Mountian Lion.
At OS X 10.8 and 10.8.1 the version is version 7.0
At OS X 10.8.2 Messages is updated to version 7.0.1
This is a common form of update used since iChat 3
However versions across OS X version do not work as some of the changes are too great and some cases the support folders have moved and even been added to over the different versions.
As you say that the version you have works with a Test user the most likely "block" would be a corrupted .plist but you have moved all of these if I remember correctly.
Go to Applications/Utilities and open Keychain Access.
You should have several "A" looking icons made up of the pen, brush and ruler.
Some should relate to your AIM/Apple IDs that can be used with the AIM Login in Messages (and other apps)
Double click these to bring up the Info Panel.
    Click on the Access tab.
Check that any name is allowed access by IMAgent, Messages. IMCore and Internet accounts.
Repeat fro all names and IDS used in Messages.  (Jabber/Yahoo/Google etc)
There should also be one that reads "iMessage: your AppleIDhere-AuthToken"
Check this allows the same items.
If the "Allow all Applications..." button is ticked then delete the item.
