Albums from iPad to iPhoto

I have created several new photo albums on my iPad.  I would like these albums to synch or transfer into iPhoto on my desktop.  Is this possible?
Thanks,
John

At this time there is no way to do that. You can move the Photos, of course, but not the organisation. At time of writing the only thing that the two iPhotos share is the name...

  • Transferring an Album from iPad to iPhoto

I created an album on my iPad from existing photos (i.e., not photos created on the iPad).  How do I get that iPad album over to iPhoto?  iPhoto seems to only import iPad photos that were created on iPad rather than an album (of existing photos) compiled on iPad.

Note: Albums created on iPad aren’t synced back to your computer.

    Hi NWL1,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, the iPhone won't update and is stuck. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.

  • HT1386 I am unable to synch photo albums from ipad 3 to itunes on my windows pc. In addition to camera roll and ipod cache albums, i have 6 other albums made from pix derived from the camera roll. I have trawled the net for the last 8 hrs in vain!

    Dear Community members,
I am unable to synch photo albums from iPad 3 to iTunes on my Windows 7 pc.
In addition to Camera roll and iPod cache default albums, I have 6 other albums made from pix derived from the camera roll. Eg -  Family pix in a folder, Office pix in another, Plant pixs in another, House architecture pix in another.......all also exist in the camera roll.
I have trawled the net for the last 8 hrs in vain!
I have ios5 on Ipad 3 and the latest Itunes on Windows PC.
As a precaution, I have used the windows "add pictures from...." to keep a copy in a separate folder in the windows desktop, but again it has all the pics mixed up together and not sorted as per the various albums in the ipad!
How to replicate the albums in the windows PC???
    Regards

Sync the photos back to the iPad using iTunes. You have to place the photos into a folder from which you sync photos. All photos that you want to sync to the device must be included in the main photos folder and selected to sync each time that you sync.
Connect the iPad to the PC and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Photos Tab on the right.
Click on the Sync Photos From heading in order to select it.
Select the photos folder that you want to sync from.
Select all of the albums or photos within the folder that you want to sync.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
    You can read more here.

I also would like to find out how to delete photos from the ipad.  Everyone that is answering is talking about how to get them on and how to do stuff on the iphone.  Please stay focused if you're goign to answer.  don't be talking just to hear yourselves talk.  If you're going to answer, please just answer the question.  Apparently everyone that has answered doesn't know.  Putting the ipad usermanual is not helpful.  If we wanted to read that monster we would have.
    Wow!
I thought it might be worthwhile to put your useless piece of excrement up and let everyone enjoy it at least one more time.
Had you read "... that monster..." you might have twigged to the fact that what they are talking about is in fact how it's done and, contrary to your claim, those that answered do in fact know, and did answer the question. The fact that you don't know is understandable, the fact you're too lazy or uncaring to do anything on your own regrettable, and the fact that people are wasting time responding to you very much a one-time thing.

  • How do I delete photo albums from Ipad 2?

How do I delete photo albums or photos in photo albums from IPad 2?

If the photos that you want to delete are in the Camera Roll, just tap on the photo that you want to delete, then tap the trash can in the upper right hand corner and select delete. If you are in the thumbnail view, tap on the curved arrow icon in the upper right corner and then tap on the photo or photos that you want to delete, then tap on delete in the upper left part of the screen.
If the photos that you want to delete are on the iPad from a previous sync with iTunes, you have to sync to iTunes to delete them. Deselect the photos in iTunes while your iPad is connected and then sync and the photos will be removed from the device

  • Move photos albums from Picassa to Iphoto

    Hello,
Does somebody have a solution to move or transfer photo albums from Picassa to Iphoto?
Of course with as much as possible maintaining the titles, descriptions etc given in Picassa. Thanks for help.
    Roland Demey

Is this Picasa the app or Picasa the Web Service?
You'll need to export from whichever. What metadata gets written to the files will be a setting on Picasa. If they are written to standards like Exif or IPTC then they will be picked up by iPhoto.
Testing on one or two first might be an idea.

  • Import photos from iPad to iPhoto keeping album structure

    Hi All,
I have an iPad 2 with a camera connect kit.  I've imported and organised several hundred photos using the kit and the iPad.  I just purchased a Macbook Pro and want to import those photos into iPhoto.  The photos all imported, but the album structure has been lost.  How can I import photos from my iPad into iPhoto (or some other application) while keeping the album structure?
    Thanks,
    John.

  • Import Albums/Photos from iPad to iPhoto

Hi Everyone. My iMac hard drive crashed with iPhoto and all my saved photos. Luckily, they are ALL synced to my iPad and a copy is saved there.
How do I import all these saved albums & photos from iPad back into iPhoto? It does not give me this option automatically when I connected my iPad.
    Please advise.

  • Importing new Photo events from iPad to iPhoto '11

    Hi,
I've recently bought the iPad Camera Connection Kit and I used it to import some photos from my camera: this process ended up creating a new event named with the date of the import (I haven't found a way to rename it so far) and an album called "Last import".
I thought that the new event would have been transferred to iPhoto '11 during the next sync with my MacBook. However I found out that's not so: I tried syncing my iPad both via wifi and USB, but the new event doesn't show up in iPhoto '11.
What should I do? Even clicking on "iPad", in iPhoto '11, it shows me only the photos that are in the camera roll...

thank you very much for helping me!
I eventually found out the solution to my problem: however I think it's really non-userfriendly and complicated.
I'll explain everything so that it can be useful for others who are in the same situation as me: I eventually found out that in iPhoto (on the Mac) you see all the photos in your iPad Camera Roll plus all the photos you've imported via the Camera Connection Kit (but they are all mixed up, not divided into albums/folders/whatever...). So if you want to import to iPhoto on your Mac the new photos that are on the iPad you have to manually select them in iPhoto an click on "Import selected...". Then you can rename the event and do whatever you want.
But that's nat all: when you re-sync your iPad iTunes "detects" a new event in iPhoto so it is automatically transferred into the iPad......so you end up by having (on the iPad) two events that contain the same identical photos: the one created automatically when the photos where imported through the Kit and another one imported during the sync process. In order to delete the first one you have to go to Albums and tap on "Last Import", than you have to manually select all the photos and finally delete them: in this way the event "magically" disappears.
I don't know if I've been clear enough but, as the whole process i so complicated, I think there's no other way to explain it.
However I'm very disappointed and in my opinion this is a really frustrating thing that Apple should fix asap!!

  • Sharing a photo album in ipad with iphotos on mac

i arranged a series of photos on my Ipad into an "album". I would now like to have that show up in Iphoto on my macbook, to build and order a hard-copy book, not a digital book. How can I get the album from my Ipad to Iphoto on the macbook?

Backing up with iCloud would not backup synced photos anyway. iCloud only works photos that you take with the iPad.
There are third party WiFi apps that will allow you to transfer the photos back to the Mac. You download the app to both devices and then you can send photos and videos to and from each device.
I use this one. There are others available in the App Store.

  • Sync photos from ipad to iphoto

OK - here is my problem.
First - I sync'd my ipad with my imac and put ONE photo album, from iphoto, onto the ipad
Second - I used the photo application on the ipad to create a "new album" on the ipad and i moved a subset of that ONE original photo album into the new album.   So...there were 1000 photos in the original album and I reviewed them and picked the top 200 and they are in the new album.
Third - I want to "transfer" or "sync" that NEW album (with just the 200 photos) back onto my imac iphoto application.   I want to continue to edit the new album with 200 photo's - but I am going to edit them in iphoto on my imac.
I cannot figure out how to do the third thing.   I cannot figure out how to move that new photo album from my ipad to my imac.  The choices provided by the photo application on the ipad are no good - the only possible one is email but this email would be HUGE....200 photos.
    Can anyone figure this out?

    Alex, any response from Apple?
The only solution to this I can think of:
    1. Use PhoneView utility on Mac, to 'view' contents of iPad's photos - including albums.
    2. Drag _each album_ from phone view, to its own folder on Mac. Note, this will result in wasted hard drive space, if a photo on the iPad is in two separate albums. On the iPad it's of course just storing a reference to the actual file, in each album. But when you drag over each album to the Mac, it will copy *all the actual photos* - for each album.
    3. When done, quit PhoneView, open iPhoto. For each album you copied, drag _its folder, named how you want it named_ into the Albums section of iPhoto sidebar. I haven't tested this yet, but I think - iPhoto will create a new album with that name, and try to import those pictures. Of course, it already has the pics. So it'll ask you whether to ignore duplicates. You'll say yes. But then (hopefully) it'll still create the album, with the references to the originals (that it already has), and not import them again. So this part at least is blessedly fast.
Done. But! Then, you'll have to repeat this process *forever*, any and every time in the future, that you make any changes to albums *on the iPad*.
So -- it's like, giving us the ability to create albums *on the iPad* is basically, giving us just enough rope to hang ourselves. There's no way, to get those albums to be 'linked' to albums on iPhoto. It'll always be a static hack/kludge, as I've outlined above -- *if* what I'm suggesting here works, which I'm not sure. I'll be testing this today, for a client who, no surprise, took advantage of this <irony>GREAT</irony> feature on iPad, to be able to create albums on the iPad itself.  <disappointed>Thanks a lot for one more half-baked effort Apple.</d>.
I mean, unless I'm missing something. Super happy to be proved wrong here. But, as far as I can tell there's no way in iTunes (the way to sync), to do this. Doing an internet search for this, i.e.:
        https://duckduckgo.com/?q=transfer+photo+albums+"ipad+to+iphoto"
returns *very few* results, this support discussion being one of them.

  • Is there a way to import just 1 photo album from iPad to my PC

Is there a way to import phots from just 1 album from my iPad to my PC?

Yes. Just sync that one album of photos. Its that simple. If that album is nested inside another photos album, just select that particular album in the Sync Photos From heading in the photos tab of iTunes.

  • Import error moving from iPad to iPhoto

Somewhat puzzled by the inability to import photos from my iPad to iPhoto.
    Here's what happened:
    1. Used camera connector to transfer high-def JPG format files from a Nikon D50 onto the iPad (no problem, and the *iPad displays the pictures* perfectly).
    2. Attach iPad to Mac and start iPhoto.
    3. iPad is shown as attached and import window is displayed, correctly showing 176 photos to be imported but *no images are displayed*, only the dotted outline boxes.
    4. Attempt 'Import All...' and an *import error is shown listing all 176 JPG files* as not imported.
    5. Start Image Capture utility and attempt 'Import All', same error is reported.
    6. Attempt selecting just one photo and importing just selected item (fails in both iPhoto and Image Capture with the same import error).
It looks like the iPad can read the JPG files but for some reason the Mac cannot.
    Setup details:
    iPhoto '08 v7.1.5
Macbook Pro running OS X 10.6.2
    iPad running iOS v3.2
    Image Capture v6.0.1
    Any ideas?
    Regards,
    Mark

Updated to OS X 10.6.4 and everything seems to work correctly.
